This chapter will deviate a lot from the original fanfic and fall more into the anime, sorta. I also thank those who give suggestions as well as the readers! I will incorporate said suggestions in due time. :)

It was the next day and Ash and Sabrina met up in the Pokemon Center with Brock.

"Hey, guys, should we head to the next city? I heard that Saffron is next and I can get a badge from whomever the gym leader is there," Ash suggested as he was looking forwards moving to Saffron and catching some more psychic types along the way.

"Ash, I hope you don't mind," the girl began with a small smile on her face as she was thinking of what she was going to ask, "but could we go to the harbor and see the St. Anne again? I enjoyed seeing it yesterday and wouldn't mind getting a bit closer to it."

"I think that's a good idea!" Ash told his romantic interest. He really did enjoy seeing them yesterday with her and Brock and figured it would make her happy.

"Yeah, we likely won't be back here for a while, so I say we should make the best of it," Brock said as they both nodded to his statement. The three youngsters made their way to Vermilion Harbor where there were several other ships, mostly cargo, and then, the daunting St. Anne. She was a beautiful ship, but there was no way they could likely get aboard a ship as costly as it was.

"Hey, wouldn't it be amazing to travel around the world and see other countries?" asked Sabrina as she looked at the ship. She could picture herself with Ash in the future doing something like that, but she had to find out what she wanted to do when she grew up.

"Yeah, but...there's no way we can get on that thing," Ash said a bit dejected. "Reality bites..."

As if someone were listening to the conversation, two very tan girls in school uniforms and yellow hair, though different styles, approached us.

"Well, today's your lucky day!" said the one whose hair was jutting out super long. "It just turns out I have a ticket I don't need and I want you guys to totally have it!"

The girl went on about how her boyfriend wanted her to stay home and all about how luxurious the St. Anne was. Her friend reinforced her words by occasionally saying "Cool!" and nodding.

Sabrina couldn't believe it; someone was just giving away a ticket to this cruise ship! She was not going to complain and was too enraptured at the fact they were going to go travel!

"Let's get on board and see what's going on this ship!" chirped Ash. Once they showed their ticket, there was a huge lobby with tons of people, easily over 500 people. There were several buffets and multiple vendor stalls with adults selling stuff. The majority of the people on board were probably novice trainers like Ash and Sabrina and they kept bragging about their Pokemon.

"Well, my Kadabra can spoons with his mind!" One guy said as he was rubbing the head of his psychic type.

"Pssh, that's nothing! My Kadabra can bend a lead pipe with his mind!" the other said as he pointed at himself with his thumb, proud to brag about his Pokemon.

Ash overheard the two bragging and it got him to wondering the extent of Kadabra's telekinesis.

"Check out how awesome my Squirtle is!" A guy randomly interjected the two, causing them to sweat drop. Ash could see a battle was going on up ahead and he said,

"Let's go check that out!"

Sabrina wasn't exceptionally in the mood to watch a battle, but what could she do to stop Ash? Once the raven-haired boy had something on his mind, he was going to pursue it.

"Who else would like to battle against my Hypno?" A voice said with a lot of energy. He was a man who was probably in his early 40s.

"Oh, I would!" said a boy who was probably about 11. "I got a Charmeleon I want to use in battle."

"Very well, young man, let it begin," the man said, and soon a ding! went off.

"Oh, cool, he's using a Hypno!" Ash said as he was eager to see someone else use a psychic type in action.

"We had a Hypno at the gym," Sabrina said with a smile forming on her face.

"Charmeleon, you use ember!" the boy told his fire type.

"Hypno, dodge it and show 'em a headbutt!" The reptile Pokemon shot out a small flame towards the other, but Hypno was able to dodge it with ease as he ran for the other and gave the other a good headbutt in the stomach, causing Charmeleon's eyes to bulge out as he did that.

"Okay, counter that headbutt with a metal claw!" the boy said to his Pokemon. Charmeleon's claw began to glow and he managed to rake it against Hypno who take a fair amount of damage from it.

"Not bad, young man. Not bad," applauded the man. "Hypno, unleash a bit of confusion!" Hypno began to be outlined with a whitish-blue aura and so did Charmeleon followed by Charmeleon being manipulated physically by hitting himself a time.

"Charmeleon, snap out of it and use your flamethrower!"

Charmeleon let out a large wave of flames from his mouth and it went towards, but the man had a smirk on his face.

"Let's wrap this up, shall we? Teleport and use hypnosis!" Hypno did as was commanded and he avoided the flames by teleporting himself behind Charmeleon. He span Charmeleon around and began to swing his pendulum at a trace-inducing pace, which caused Charmeleon to close his eyes. "Now, dream eater!"

Hypno's hand began to glow red and Charmeleon was outlined with the red aura. Soon, Hypno absorbed Charmeleon's energy by eating his dream and it caused Charmeleon to faint!

"No, Charmeleon!" The boy called out and got down on his knees to hold his Pokemon. "You did well. Return." He sighed and said to the man, "Your Hypno is so strong."

"That was such a cool battle!" Ash chirped with excitement. "I want a Hypno."

"You're likely to find a Drowzee much more commonly than a Hypno out in the wild," Sabrina cautioned him.

"So, who's next?" the man said.

"Oooh, me, me!" Ash called out and was jumping up and down for the man to see him. "I want a battle."

"Okay, young man. Let's get this started, yeah?" the man said.

"I choose you, Kadabra!" Ash said as he let out the Pokemon with the spoon and large tail.

"Interesting choice, young man. Now see how you can handle this!" The man let out a Jynx!

"A Jynx, huh?" Ash said as he thought that was an interesting choice. It seemed that this man was also a psychic-type trainer.

"That's a Pokemon you don't see everyday," Brock commented as he was trying to think of a way for the other to get an advantage. He just thought that if he could land a fire punch, it may be enough to cause her to faint.

"Jynx! Powder snow!" the man ordered his Pokemon. Jynx began to glow and she extended her arms out and sent some snow out towards Kadabra.

"Conusion, quick, Kadabra!" Ash told his Pokemon. Kadabra sent the snow back to Jynx, and it didn't do much damage to her. Ash wondered if he could teleport close to the ice type and hit her since Kadabra were known for just using special attacks from afar as opposed to up close with physical moves.

"Jynx, use teleport and give Kadabra an ice punch!" the man ordered. Jynx soon vanished and was right up in Kadabra's face and her hand began to glow a light blue. Ash had a small window to call out his command or it could end badly very quickly.

"Kadabra, counter ice punch with fire punch!"

"What!" the opponent said with shock as he saw his Jynx get hit with the flaming fist. Naturally, as follows with anime logic, there was smoke at the impact at both fists, but neither opponent was injured.

"I see you have trained your Kadabra quite well indeed, young man, and I imagine he'll only get stronger," Praised the man. "We gotta act faster than what we just did, Jynx, so use teleport and double slap!"

Jynx did as commanded and teleported up to Kadabra and smacked him a few times, teleporting rapidly in between slaps to prevent Kadabra from getting an edge in. Ash had to act quickly since Kadabra had low defense, but he had to get out of there fast.

"Use your own Teleport, Kadabra, and hit Jynx with confusion!" Ash said desperately, as he wasn't entirely sure he could get out of the mess he was in. If confusion made Jynx confused, there was a chance he could get a fire punch in.

Kadabra was able to utilize his psychic power and sure enough, it was able to confuse Jynx. She was moving in a wobbly fashion and slapped herself a few times and soon, Kadabra was ordered to use a fire punch, which knocked her out!

"Haha, alright, Kadabra!" Ash cheered as he went up to his Pokemon to pat him on the head. Kadabra did not flinch this time, but it was still something he was trying to get used to.

"You did quite well, young man," the man told Ash and he had a smile on his face. "And if you want, I can help you get your Kadabra to evolve into Alakazam with the use of the trading machine."

Ash was astonished that the other was telling him this. "Really?! Yes, I would definitely like that!"

Sabrina smiled when she heard the news about the other getting a stronger Pokemon. She knew this is what both Ash and his Pokemon wanted, so she was glad for him that someone would make it happen.

"Of course. I enjoy helping out other trainers who use psychic Pokemon, and since trading is the only way to get Kadabra evolved, I say why not? You trade your Kadabra to me, and I'll trade it right back."

"Sounds good to me!" Ash told the other.

"Good, let's get started!" Ash followed the man and they eventually made their way to the trading machine. Sabrina and Brock decided to watch Ash and soon, Ash temporarily got Hypno while the man got Kadabra. Once Kadabra was in the man's possession, he let him out and Kadabra began to glow!

"Kadabra is starting to evolve!" Brock said with a smile on his face.

"Well, aren't you lucky, young man!" the man whom Ash traded with said with a grin on his face. He recalled Alakazam and put the ball back on the machine to give back to Ash. In a few moments, Ash had the ball back and he gave his signature pose.

"I got an Alakazam!" he cheered. "Thank you so much, mister!"

"No problem, young man. You enjoy your fully evolved Pokemon now," said the other as he went to go mingle with some ladies. Ash let out Alakazam and he said to the other,

"How does it feel now that you've fully evolved?"

"Thank you so much, Ash, for letting me reach my full potential by evolving into Alakazam. I will hone my abilities further to help you."

Ash was so glad that he had Alakazam now, but he felt a small bit of guilt because he felt like he was leaving Exeggcute, his starter behind. He wondered if she wanted to evolve as well and let out his starter Pokemon as well as Ralts.

"Guys, meet Alakazam! He just evolved!"

The other two Pokemon said their names and jumped up in down as they were excited for their friend. Ash got down on his knees and said to the cluster of pink seeds,

"Do you wanna evolve, too, and become even stronger?"

Exeggcute began to jump in joy at that statement, as it was evident she clearly wanted to evolve as soon as it was possible. The problem was, Ash didn't have a leaf stone.

"Alright! Whenever I can find a leaf stone, I'll help you evolve!" he told the other and patted the seeds, making sure she felt loved. Ash had to make a reminder to use his starter more often as well as Ralts and use Alakazam only when he needed offense the most.

Soon, Ash and the gang heard fabric ripping and one of the waiters turned out to be Team Rocket! The entire room became filled with Team Rocket Grunts and they had on some sort of odd vacuum device on them.

Soon, Jesse and James recited their motto.

"You crooks!" Ash said.

"What's going on?"

"What are they talking about?" said some of the passengers as they were genuinely confused. Ash knew things were about to sour fast unless he acted.

"Make this easy on yourself and hand over your Pokemon," A male Grunt said as he had his hand out and waited for the three youngsters to surrender their Pokemon.

"No way!" Sabrina said as she had a strong connection with her Pokemon. Ash did not feel like getting physically violent against anyone, especially another human being, but he had to do something.

"If you're gonna try to take away our Pokemon, we may as well make this a battle. Exeggcute, use barrage!"

The pink seeds didn''t need to be told twice and she fired balls at the grunt in the stomach twice, causing him to fall over onto the ground in great pain.

"We all need to work together to get rid of them," Sabrina told the other two. She was starting to ease a bit as she saw her plucky love interest fight back.

"Kirlia, you come on out and use Magical Leaf!" Sabrina ordered. The dancing Pokemon came out and soon, several other trainers' Kirlia came out and they began to fire leaves in tandem, causing about eight Rocket grunts to scream in pain as they were getting hit. In anime fashion, it managed to send them blasting off through the roof, leaving a twinkle in the grey sky that was looking quite dangerous.

"Onix, come on out!" Brock ordered. Soon, five other giant Onix took place in the ship and they all tackled some of the grunts, again, sending them hurling through the sky.

Ash ordered Exeggcute to join the other Exeggcute and send out stun spore on some Rockets. The attacks pressed on until all the grunts had blasted off.

"Great job, everybody," Ash said with triumph as he addressed everyone. "I think we should all be proud for pushing back Team Rocket."

Sabrina really liked this side of Ash and she began to smile. He was so courageous for a ten year old. Not long after Ash finished his statement, a large wave collided with the St. Anne and caused a lot of people to stagger.

"What's going on?" some of the passengers said.

"Looks like we got pushed out to high sea and are heading for a storm," the captain of the ship told the passengers. "But don't worry; this ship is unsinkable."

"Well, that's a relief," Ash told the others and got a nod. The waves continued to rock the ship, but it was soon heading back for Vermilion Harbor.

"Sorry, Sabrina, but it looks like we aren't gonna be able to travel the world," Ash said apologetically.

"You know, I'm pretty sure this was a ploy; those two who handed the tickets look awfully similar to Jesse and James."

"I guess I was too excited at the moment to think otherwise," Ash told the other and laughed sheepishly. In about four hours and after having endured rough waves for about two, they finally made it back to Vermilion City.

Once the passengers were able to get off the ship, Ash immediately kissed the ground, as he, too, had gotten a bit scared during the roughest parts of the storm.

"Oh, Ash," chuckled Brock and Sabrina, although the sentiment he had was definitely valid.

"Ash, I think I may not really want to travel in the world as much after this experience," Sabrina admitted. It seemed fun at first, but considering the storm was quite close to capsizing the ship, she had a fear of getting in the ocean again.

"That's fine, I don't plan to get on one anytime soon," Ash added. "But let's go look for Saffron City so we can go against the next gym leader!"

This is a different take if Ash and group managed to evacuate from the ship.
