Series: Cardcaptor Sakura
Title: An Incomplete Misunderstanding
Prologue
Daidouji Tomoyo, heiress to the Daidouji Toy Company, was uneasy.
The uneasiness was not the kind of uneasiness that you can dismiss with a wave of your hand, but a kind of uneasiness that sank roots into the depths of your stomach and eat at your heart with worry until you cannot help but imagine the very worst.
In this particular young woman, this kind of uneasiness had never been felt before, and she did not like it one bit. Nothing she'd tried could make it go away, not even when she made a long distance call to Sakura in Hong Kong, who had especially cleared away her afternoon's schedule to listen to Tomoyo and recommended several 'famous remedies' by Syaoran's sisters. Not even when she made a special trip down to the largest bookstore and immersed herself in the encyclopedias of flowers which were her source of inspiration in Sakura' early cardcaptoring life.
Tomoyo bit her lip, and a delicate little frown wrinkled the top of her brow just the slightest bit. There was only one other remedy she could think of.
Tomoyo endured the churning of her stomach as her private jet settled slowly down in the UK International Airport. She had made a short call to warn him of her coming, but it had been Spinel Sun who picked up the phone, and promised to pass the message on to his master. She left the aircraft eagerly and into the expensive chauffeured limousine her mother reserved for business use. Daidouji Sonomi was off in America and would not be back till next month, so it was impossible for their schedules to clash.
As her ride sped through the countryside of England, Tomoyo tapped her foot impatiently on the thick rug beneath her feet. She had not even bothered to pour herself a drink to ease her nerves. She knew of a better solution, and that better solution was coming up fast.
The limo slid to a smooth stop in the driveway of his English mansion, and Tomoyo alighted with a relieved sigh. Finally, she could ease her nerves. Her heels clipped smartly on the paved steps as she walked the few steps to his door. It was probably her nerves that made her forget the simple courtesy she'd been trained in from the time she had been able to walk, to 'knock before you enter', but this time, Tomoyo did not knock before she entered. Instead, she let herself in, fully expecting to see Eriol welcoming her with open arms.
What greeted her, however, made her eyes widen, her heart sink, and her stomach stop churning.
