Soft petals tickled his fingers as he walked the path. Footsteps felt lighter than they had since he was a child. He felt childlike in this moment, swaying with the wind, humming as he walked through the never ending field. The tune was unfamiliar, but he noted the echoing twinkling that assisted his melody. His heart felt driven, compelled to continue through the field, towards what was still unknown but as faithful as a saint he knew wherever he ended up he would be greeted with familiarity. He was getting closer, each step feeling heavier, aging as he treaded along. Numbness crawled up his spine, pins and needles invading his every move. Urgency swelled in his heart the further he got, paralyzing his movements. Seconds ticked by agonizingly slow while his body pushed to move faster. He had to find him! He had to save him! He had to-

Midoriya awoke with a gasp, fingers twitching behind his back, body desperately trying to pull forward, only stopped by the rope securing him in place. Replacing the infinite field were bare grey walls illuminated by a single light in the center of the room. Midoriya found himself akin to a sake of potatoes, hogtied and laying on the bare floor. Anxiety flared as he tried to recall where he was and how he got there. His wrists burned and the longer he strained them the tighter the bounds grew around his legs and torso. Realizing this, he began working on moving his whole body into a sitting position. Maneuvering in a way he was sure looked like an inchworm when it rains he managed to place his back in the wall opposite a metal door and pull his tied knees towards his upper body. His brain worked a mile a minute, so fast that the second footsteps appear outside his room mere minutes later he was preparing his quick attack and escape despite his tied state. At the sound of metal scraping concrete, Midoriya sprung at his captor. Or at least he tried to.

His chin was most definitely bleeding. Midoriya looked up from in front of his captors boots. What he thought would be an agile surprise head butt and dash turned into the equivalent of a kitten jumping from a sofa. His limbs felt numb and jelly like, drastically different then the heaviness of unconsciousness that plagued him when he awoke. From the neck down he felt rather than saw his body slacken as a paralytic spread through his muscles. Groaning he strained his neck to meet the fiery crimson eyes staring him down. The shock of seeing Kacchan was almost enough to erase the effect of the paralysis. Kacchan grunted grabbing Midoriya by his bound arms and positioning him so he was back against the wall similar to his original position. Steeping back he crouched down to look his childhood friend in the eyes.

"Tch you really think we wouldn't take the necessary precautions to keep you under control shitty nerd? When have I ever halfassed anything?"

"I didn't really think you'd be the one to steal me from my home Kacchan"

"Yea well those shitty extras were taking too long" Kacchan murmured in response.

Midoriya processed the information, storing it away for later. "What are you doing Kacchan?"

"Use that oversized brain Deku, I needed to know what UA has been saying about the attack" he bit back.

Midoriya sensed that Kacchan was telling a half truth but the questions filling his brain were more distracting rather than useful. If he asked too many questions he knew Kacchan would lose his patience and he'd end up gaining no useful information. Although based on recent events, Midoriya wondered if he truly knew anything about the fiery blond anymore.

"I'm not saying anything Kacchan, you know I wouldn't turn the Hero's over so why am I really here" he chose to respond. Maybe he would get a real answer if he called this bluff.

"You're here because I fuckin decided you would be" he retorted rolling his eyes. This angered Midoriya in a way only Kacchan was able to. Midoriya was a relatively timid person at best, a down right people pleaser at worst, but when it came to his rival, Midoriyas fuse was short and Kacchan almost always held true to his fiery nature.

"Well pardon me King Explosion murder, I forgot your will was the way of the world."

Kacchan grit his teeth as a grin tugged the corners of his lips.

"And don't you forget it nerd".

With that he stood up and made his way towards the door. Realizing his sarcasm was about to leave him alone, Midoriya scrambled to engage the man, if only to keep him around a bit longer.

"Wait where are we Kacchan! Why are you doing this? I thought we were gonna be hero's together like we always dreamed!" Midoriya all but frantically screamed at the retreating man. The final statement made Kacchan pause in his stride glancing over his shoulder.

"We're too old for dreams Izuku"

And with that Kacchan left, leaving Midoriya to his thoughts.
