Jay walked into the apartment Alex lived in with her mother and step-father quietly. He saw a lump on the couch wrapped messily in a tiny blanket. He smiled, creeping up and laid next to it on the fold out bed.

Alex's head popped out and she would have screamed if her head hadn't told her it was Jay frist. "What do you want?" she asked in a raspy voice.

Jay's lips met Alex's for a few seconds in a small kiss. He pushed her hair out of her eyes and shrugged, "I heard you were sick and came to keep you company."

She rolled to her other side as she sat up, glancing at the stove clock and gave him a look that said 'Busted!'. She smirked a little, saying, "You skipped school?"

He smiled, saying, "Anything for my girl." He kissed her temple and quickly pulled away at the feel of her burning skin. "'Lexi, you're burning," he said, laying her back down gently.

Her eyes went wide and she reached to check his temperture with the back of her hand. "Are you feeling okay?" she asked, only half joking. "You're being..." She paused to find the right word. Because saying nice, meant that he had a heart, which he didn't. She knew this well. After all, she hadn't beat the crap out of almost every other slut in the school for nothing.

"Nice?" he questioned. "Yeah, well..." he trailed off, stumbling on what to say.

Alex pressed a finger to Jay's lips to get him to stop trying to find the words caught in his throat. He then realized was now leaning on top of her, their bodies pressed tight together. She got lost in his blue eyes and pulled him down to her by his collar. His eyes closed as did hers. Their lips met again, at first in soft innocent kisses. Then she shoved her tongue in his mouth and he obliged, returning the French kiss. His hands rested on her hips and she placed one hand on the back of his neck, while the other rested on his chest.

Jay pulled away, moving to the arm rest of the couch and Alex looked at him with confused black eyes. "Is something wrong?" she asked, sitting up and reaching to undo the top button of his shirt.

"Alex, stop," he said, avoiding her eyes. She pulled back and he looked back at her. "Its not that I don't want too. I do. But you and Paige..." She slightly snorted as he went on. "You're together and when I say I'll do anything for you. I meant... I'll do anything for you to be happy. This won't cut it. You know it. She knows it. I know it." He kissed her temple and then walked to the bathroom to get some medical things for her flu.

Alex pulled her knees to her chest and thought about it. Tears filled her eyes, but she didn't cry. She never cried. She couldn't cry... as far as her reputation went. She rocked back and forth from her toes to her heals on the fold out bed. But maybe just this once. Just once she would let at least one fall. She sunk back into a laying position and let not only one tear fall, but a flood of them escape her eyes. She felt herself shaking and let them turn into full blown sobs.

Jay ran back into the room and sat on the bed, pulling her into his arms. "Lexi..." he whispered, cradling her against his chest. She clutched one hand to his shirt and let her free hand hang loosely as she cried into his shirt and jacket. He just held her all the more tighter; afraid that if he said anything it would make it all the more worse. And they stayed like that until she passed out... After all, he would do anything for her.
