O — Obsession

Prompt suggestion by: Guest

Raimundo sat on the bed in the medi-wing. A hand resting against his head as he kept his eyes shut, his mind restless from their most recent Wu hunt.

He had requested that he be left alone, only allowing Dojo or Master Fung to see him. The outcome of the Wu could have been far worse, but his mind still screamed for her.

Kimiko. Must find Kimiko. I need her – she needs me. Kimiko. Kimiko. Kimiko.

The newest Wu, the Plagued Heart, forced the person it was used on to become obsessed with the first person they see. It was a dangerous Wu; one they hadn't expected to see Wuya holding as they arrived.

She had aimed for him. Wuya had always wanted Raimundo back with her after all these years. Once he was hit, she made her way for him, determined to be the one he'd see. But Kimiko, incredible, beautiful, captivating Kimiko saw the attack; forcing his eyes to her as he rolled to his back.

Instantly, Raimundo had wanted nothing more than to hold her, to feel her within his embrace as he kissed her.

But Wuya had tried pulling her from him.

It had taken one sharp gust of wind to throw her away from Kimiko, who he swiftly pulled to his side, his arm around her back clutching her side. She was his. She wasn't going anywhere.

Kimiko. Find Kimiko. She's yours. Get her, keep her close. Keep her safe. They don't love her like you do.

It was difficult, separating Wu from reality. Raimundo was well aware of how strongly he felt for her beforehand, maybe that's why he was able to fight the effect to this extent.

"Rai,"

His entire body froze. He couldn't keep his eyes from looking to her, his mind pleading for him to look, to reach out.

Hold her. Pull her close. She isn't close enough.

"What are you doing here?"

Kimiko's eyes dropped to her sleeves, her fingers fiddling with the material. She should be doing that to his clothing.

"I know you asked for us – for me – to stay away, but I've been researching the Wu," she dared to look at him, his whole body captivated by her every word. "I think I found a way to break it,"

"How?" he breathed, hoping he could silence the voice in his head.

Slowly, she approached him; her delicate hand taking his as she reached the bed. Kimiko only smiled at his fingers intertwining with hers, his free hand moving straight for her waist.

"I'd prefer to not say it, but do it instead," her eyes focused on their locked hands, smiling at the view. "If you're alright with that?"

Anything she says. Anything at all. Give her the world if she asks.

He nodded, his thumb stroking her side. "I trust you, Kimiko,"

Closing her eyes, Kimiko took a slow, deep breath before she looked to him. With all the courage she could muster, she leaned forward, kissing him.

His eyes widened at the initial impact; his mind silenced by the shock of her action. It took him only a second to focus on the moment. Shutting his eyes, Raimundo let go of her hand, instead moving to the back of her head, pulling her closer.

She leaned into him, her legs feeling light as she allowed herself to be swept up in the emotions the kiss brought. She would break him from this, she would protect him. She loved him too damn much not to.

When she couldn't ignore her need to breathe any longer, she pulled away, resting her forehead against his.

Raimundo's eyes remained closed, his mind rushing to process what had just happened. It wasn't until he realised the silence in his head that he knew it worked.

"How did you know to do that?"

Opening her eyes, Kimiko was greeted with green. Disbelief written across her face before the small smile slowly crept onto her features.

"It worked?"

His nod was all she needed to pull him into a hug, not caring about the excited squeal that slipped through her lips.

"I read about a theory, that if the person under the Wu's control and the person they held the obsession with had the same feelings for each other, then it would counteract the effect, giving you your freedom again,"

"And you knew it would work?" Raimundo asked into her hair.

"I've seen the way you look at me," she answered, cheeks flushed with red. "Just so happens I got it right,"

Lightly pushing on her shoulders, Raimundo waited for her to pull back before grabbing her face, pulling her in for a second kiss.

"You said you were going to Master Fung first!"

Pushing apart, the two startled monks looked to the door to see a concerned Clay and Master Fung staring back at them.

"Sup, cowboy," Raimundo called, relaxing against the bedframe.

Clay looked between the two, baffled by their responses until their mentor spoke up.

"It appears, whatever theory Kimiko had was correct. Even if she avoided running it by myself to try,"

Looking to the ground, Kimiko's ears heard the small chuckle to her right.

"You sure you weren't hit with the Wu? Sounds like such a me thing to do,"

Raimundo's taunt was met with a glare and a slap to the foot. Her threats following soon after. The monk could only laugh at her quick change of mood, not even noticing the looks between Clay and their mentor before they stepped away. Leaving him to deal with her outburst.

Not that he would complain about being left with her. Not one bit.

AN: Is this ship still alive? I just want to binge read Raikim fics and I'm having to scroll through old content for stuff I don't overly remember.
