V — Vampire

Four monks quietly sat around the dining table, eating their morning meal. It was the 1st of November, the morning after a small Halloween party their leader insisted they threw. Everything had gone fantastic until two of the four monks woke slightly hungover.

Clay's eyes frequently flicked to the youngest of the monks, confused at his suspicious look.

"Right, I gotta ask," Clay dropped his cutlery to the plate, gaining the others attention. "What is going on with you, Omi? I've seen rattled snakes less suspicious than you,"

"Raimundo was telling me last night the knowledge of vampires,"

"Was I?" he mumbled.

"Yes, you were also gleefully telling me how they bite their victims to suck up their blood,"

"Right…" Clay prompted.

The two young men watched the monk take one long glance at their teammate before leaning towards them, whispering, "I think Kimiko has been bitten by a vampire,"

"What?!" Kimiko and Raimundo shouted; all three men looking towards her neck.

There, on the lower right side of Kimiko's neck, sat a small bruise.

Watching the people around the table, Clay looked as Omi sat with continued suspicion. Kimiko's face flushed a shade of red brighter than any fire he'd seen her produce. Raimundo, however, sat wide-eyed, a hand over his mouth. He couldn't be certain, but was he covering up a… smirk?

"I uh — I need to go to the bathroom,"

Staggering from her chair, they watched Kimiko dart out of the room and down the corridor.

"So was Kimiko bitten by a vampire?"

Raimundo scoffed at the comment, muttering "something like that," under his breath.

"Rai, why don't you go check on our Kimiko? I'll see if I can help Omi with any vampire-related questions,"

His knowing smirk was all the confirmation he needed. After all, what do you expect when your two drunken friends disappear late into the party?
