Chapter 6: Tsundere Study Session
Naruto was currently walking home from school, with Sakura by his side. Naruto just let out a sigh and thought. 'She was just so loud over the phone that by the time I got a word in she had already hung up and I decided to just tell her this in person'.
Which proved to be a big mistake on my end because it resulted in me spending the entire day today explaining everything to her.
"Hey, watch your step!" Sakura yelled at me after I accidentally stepped on one of her shoes.
"My bad, but chill out, they're just shoes" I replied calmly.
"These happen to be my favorite pair, dumbass!" She angrily shouted at me. I just sighed and kept walking, deciding it was best not to waste my breath anymore and just kept walking to my house with Sakura in tow.
Just then, though I got an epiphany and as I continued walking, I started looking at every corner I was able to see without trying to seem crazy. 'Where are they more specifically where is she' I nervously wondered as I looked in every angle.
Sakura noticed Naruto constantly turning his head left and right, he looked paranoid, as if he was being followed.
"Are you alright?" she asked him.
As soon as she said this, I looked at her and said
"Wow that's a first."
"What?" Sakura asked.
"You're actually worried about me" I replied.
"Shut up!" Sakura angrily stomped. "I'm just curious is all, you idiot!".
"Sure, you are" I replied while awkwardly rubbing the back of my head. "But anyways, yeah I'm fine."
"Well then why were you looking around?" Sakura asked.
"Uhm Kiba and I got a bit of a prank war going on. I dyed his dog's fur orange a week ago and he's been pissed ever since" I replied lying through my teeth.
Sakura didn't look impressed, but she brushed it off and didn't ask further questions.
"Sounds like a stupid thing you two would do" she said.
"I know" I replied, thankful that she bought the lie.
After this brief chat, the two then continued walking to their destination together.
(Half an Hour Later)
We arrived at my doorstep after a bit and once we did, I started going through my pockets to fish out my keys.
You see, my parents were out of town for the next few weeks dad and mom both hadn't took a day off work since I was born so it's something of a second honeymoon. I got the idea and didn't question them about it.
They left about five hundred for food and stuff so, I wasn't complaining and they also said that if I need anything else my grandparents were back in town and knew about it and I could crash with them if the situation calls for it same with my honorary uncle and aunt.
'Been a couple months since granny Tsunade and Pervy-gramps were in town I should probably pay them a visit when I get a chance same with uncle Kakashi and aunty Shizune' I thought to myself as I turned the knob and opened the door.
All I can say is that I'm so incredibly relieved that they chose to go on the trip, AFTER my study session with Ino.
Don't get me wrong, I'm 15 of course, I want to lose my v-card sooner rather than later, but not if it meant getting abducted as first base.
'Now I just gotta make sure that Ino never finds out about this' I thought nervously.
Anyway, now that we're in the house, we dropped our stuff by the counter and got out biology books and other shit out.
You'd probably that think being the grandson and son of two medical professionals that biology and human anatomy would be my strong suits and to that I say BULLSHIT.
I've tried, I really have, but the only thing that stuck is that the Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.
"Could I get you anything by any chance?" I asked trying to be a good host at least.
"Let's just get this over with" Sakura responded.
"Okay" I started, eager to get this over with. "Then how about we start the study session right here in the living room?"
"So, your parents aren't here, are they?" Sakura asked.
"I thought someone like you would've figured, you know with you being top of the class along with the fact that I actually had to fish out my keys to open the door instead of knocking" I said sarcastically.
"Don't you mock me." She huffed out.
"Whatever" I said boredly while rolling my eyes. "I'm gonna go make some sandwiches, want one?"
"Yeah, no tomatoes though" Sakura responded.
After hearing this response from the pink haired banshee, Naruto nodded, got up, and then went to the kitchen to go make the sandwiches.
Once he left to go do that, Sakura, who was just angrily growling and staring at the back of the blond, turned her head to the side in frustration.
Whilst Sakura was visibly giving out a harsh attitude to the young blond who just left the room, she had a different thought process going on in her head.
'Yes, we did it!' Inner Sakura thought to Outer Sakura. 'You finally managed to find a way to be alone with Naruto'
'Yeah, I know, but what now?' Outer Sakura thought to Inner Sakura. 'I may finally get some alone time with him, but what for? He's already dating Ino after all.'
'Ok number one that's just a rumor we don't even know if it's true and number two do I need to spell it out for you he's a teenage boy show some skin and he's all ours steal him?' Inner told Outer.
'How' Outer asked.
'How, I don't know yet since she has you clearly beaten in the chest area, but we've damn sure got one of the best asses in our grade and were gonna flaunt it.'
Sakura of course tried listening to her inner self and was trying to think of what she could do but nothing short of stripping in his living room right now would work.
Plus, Ino is a triple threat she's popular, pretty, and perfect.
It also doesn't help that the girl carries around a pair of DD breasts like she's the main character in a porno.
'Seriously how did she get those things? The only girl in our grade with a better body than her is Hinata, and it makes sense, that girl is soft and curvy everywhere. If Ino is a porn star, Hinata is straight up a hentai character. Maybe I should start doing squats or something else to make it bigger or rounder or whatever it's supposed to help with' Sakura thought to herself bumming herself out that her biggest assets wasn't even the best ass in the grade.
It didn't end there though, by what she could see, Ino was also a way better person/girlfriend towards Naruto than she could ever be in her mind.
This was proven by how she wasn't afraid to show her affection towards him so publicly.
Ino would just straight up hug and kiss Naruto out of nowhere in front of everyone, even if teachers were right there with them.
The mere fact that Ino was so open and not shy at all to show everyone how much she loved Naruto proved that it would be hard for Sakura to beat her, which further infuriated her.
'She isn't afraid to display how much she loves him whereas I keep hitting him over and arguing with him over again in order to hide it' Sakura thought in frustration. What do I do?'
Just then, Naruto walked back into the room with two sandwiches at hand.
"Here you go" I said while holding my right hand out. Sakura angrily snatched the sandwich away from me and began eating it with a irritated expression. "That was uncalled for" I said with a frown.
"Shut up" Sakura replied.
"Whatever" I said to her as I brought out my books along with my phone and earphones.
"What's with the earphones?" Sakura started. "You won't be able to hear me when I'm talking to you if you're wearing earphones dummy."
"Oh, I was only gonna put one in" Naruto said simply.
"That would still keep you from hearing me" Sakura assured the boy.
"Exactly" Naruto began to explain. "I need to hear you in order to learn anything that you're assigned to teach me, but I also need to drown your voice out with music, so I don't lose my mind at hearing you insult me for however long you're here for."
To say this hurt Sakura, would be an understatement.
She tried her best not to let it show though, but of course, you can't hold your feelings back, especially when they were hurt this bad, so she asked herself one question.
"Why is he being so much more aggressive with me?" Sakura asked in a whisper feeling her heart break a bit.
"Hmm, did you say something?" Naruto asked after taking his one headphone off temporarily.
Sakura at first was gonna tell Naruto that it was nothing, but then she decided to just say it up front.
"Why are you trying to ignore me?" She asked hurt but also somewhat angry.
Naruto just rolled his eyes, which further hurt Sakura, but he put his earphones down and explained it to her.
"Listen Sakura, I'm only able to tolerate you at school because we only have one period together, that being Lunch, but guess what, out of school I shouldn't have to deal with this much verbal abuse, hell I shouldn't have to deal with it at all. Having to deal with your bullshit at school is enough, but having to deal with it at home is way too much. And that is why I'm trying to drown it out. It's not your voice that's annoying to me, or you screaming loud as hell, but rather it's what you say that is. So what's the point in using both ears when all I'm gonna hear most of the time is you yelling at me?"
Hearing this from the boy that she really liked impacted Sakura's confidence.
To hear the boy, she desired most in the world call her annoying and say that he didn't wanna hear or talk to her was like taking numerous daggers to the heart at once and leaving her silent.
After saying this though, the blond boy grew uninterested in their conversation and just told the Pink-Haired Tsundere
"Let's just get this over with yeah, the sooner we're done with this, the sooner you can leave after all."
Sakura then gasped and frowned at Naruto's words. Thankfully though, Naruto put on his right earphone, played a song, and couldn't hear this.
'He wants me to leave so soon?' Sakura asked her Inner Self. 'Does he really hate me after all?'
'No duh!' Inner Sakura shouted at Outer Sakura. 'What else did you expect?! With the way you treat him and talk to him, what other reason does one need to hate you!
'Why do I have to be like this, why can't I just be normal!' Sakura inwardly yelled.
'I don't know, you're doing it, not me' Inner Sakura responded. 'This is probably the most obvious reason you're gonna have a difficult time stealing him from Ino.'
'I know!' Outer Sakura mentally shouted at her inner counterpart. 'Gosh, why do I have to mess everything up for myself!?'
Inner Sakura just shook her head and told the original pink haired girl
'You've liked him for the longest time and wanted to confess to him but didn't know how and started bullying him till finally, he snapped and started yelling back at you. You then still refused to explain everything to him and continued picking on him, till eventually, Ino beat you to it and confessed to him before you did.'
'And I told her about my feelings for him too!' Outer Sakura reassured the Inner one.
'Actually' Inner Sakura started. 'You told her that when you were in sixth grade and then told her you got over him a month later to hide it.'
'Right Fuck' Outer Sakura stated in her mind.
'No matter, you want him, don't you?' Inner Sakura asked Outer Sakura.
'Of course,' she responded.
'Then do what I've been telling you too and steal him away from her.'
'How though?'
'Like I said, that's on you, because like I also said, Ino has you beat in a few areas. I would start with being a bit nicer and less ill-tempered with the boy though. 'After Inner Sakura said this to Outer Sakura, the actual girl heard the voice of the boy to her side trying to talk to her.
"Sakura, Sakura, Sakura hello" Naruto repeated the third time while rolling his pencil.
"Huh, what is it, Senpai? "Sakura asked calmly.
"You just zoned out there" Naruto replied. "I was wondering what was going on because it looked as though you were lost in space."
"It's nothing" Sakura responded. "Now let's just get started on biology."
'Wow, she's being unusually calm' Naruto thought before just taking off his earphone, no longer seeing a need to use them due to Sakura's sudden change of mood.
(An Hour Later)
Sakura and I were working hard on biology practice for about an hour before finally, we took a break.
"Alright let's take a little five-minute break huh?" Sakura proposed.
"Alright" I retorted.
Like Ino, Sakura managed to make things that I couldn't understand before much clearer. Unlike Ino though, I don't find her knowledge in biology ironic, but I did have one question to ask her. I turned my head to her and asked
"Hey, Sakura, could I ask you something?"
"Yeah?" she spoke up.
"What're your plans for the future?" I questioned her.
Sakura didn't even hesitate before answering this question for me.
"I want to become a nurse."
"Really you do? Gotta be honest didn't see that coming."
Now that I think about it though, it makes sense considering both my mom and grandma have bad tempers and they were both nurses.
"It's because that's my dream job." "Wow you know my mom and grandma are both nurses" I commented
"Wait really?" Sakura asked with a smile this time and a much happier voice.
"Yep, my granny was the head nurse for years at the hospital. She basically ran the whole place like a warlord. After she retired and joined the board, my mom took over. She's still in charge, but both her and my aunt split the duties. They run the place like they own it though apparently" I explained, not realizing we were having a civil conversation.
"That's amazing I've always wanted to be a nurse so hearing that they can just run the place so easily makes me wanna go up there and see." Sakura just continued to smile and talk to me, but in lot less aggravated tone.
I just shrugged my shoulders, got up, told her
"My mom is out of town but maybe if we can keep getting along during this tutoring thing you can meet my aunt, she is really sweet and a lot less intimidating than my mom."
"I'd like that?" Sakura said still with her small smile and a few repairs to her cracked heart she understands it isn't a lot but it's a start to them being friendly. She thought to herself, 'I just gotta keep my damn temper in check and make this work.'
It was then her ears heard running and what sounded like nails on a hard floor.
"I didn't know you had a pet" she spoke up.
"Oh yeah, I have a pet Fox" I said in response.
"Really?" She sounded like she didn't believe me and honestly fair not everyone has a fox for a pet.
"Yeah, my dad rescued him when he was a kit a few years back he was being sold at some back alley exotic pet shop. My dad picked him up and arrested the guys running it, a couple of brothers I think. Anyways he brought him home cause he reminded him of me he said"
"Poor thing, but why did your dad say it reminded him of you?" Sakura asked me.
"Because I'm very sly and cunning, when it comes to pranks." Was my response.
Sakura just giggled at the mention of me being cunning and sly and so she asked,
"Really?"
"Yep and also because I had these little Fox pajamas when I was a little kid."
As soon as he said that, Sakura gained a little distant look in her eye as she tried to imagine such a cute image.
It was then that both inner and outer Sakura came to a agreement.
'WE NEED TO FIND THE DAMN PICTURES' was the inner monologue of thought between them. As quick as it happened it was gone because she zoned back in.
The two teens then just began giggling a bit at what was said and then Naruto went off to go tend to the Fox he mentioned.
(With Naruto)
Naruto was just playing with Kurama for a bit before finding something in his room that seemingly belonged to his parents. It was his father's badge.
He shrugged his shoulders a bit confused, not really getting why his dad would leave his badge there, so he got out his phone, dialed his father and waited for his father to pick up. His father didn't pick it up though, so he called it again and again till finally, after his fifteenth attempt, his father answered the phone.
"Is something wrong, Naruto?" Minato asked his son, rather hastily.
"Oh, I need to tell you something" Naruto started before his father interrupted him.
"Could you hurry this up, I got something important to tend to" his father rushed him.
"Oh yeah, well you see, I was playing with Kurama when I spotted your badge in my bed, so I was wondering what you were doing in my room to have to take off your badge?" Naruto asked.
'More like who' Minato thought with a cocky smile. "You'd rather not know."
"What's that supposed to" Naruto started before he heard his mom through the phone, in an extremely strained voice, shout out
"HARDER DAMMIT OR ILL SHOW YOU WHAT ANAL IS LIKE!"
"Gotta go" Minato said before hanging up.
As soon as the call ended, Naruto's didn't know what he felt first disgust or revulsion along with the epiphany.
"They're having" Naruto started to say but couldn't get it out before making another realization. "Wait a minute OH GOD MY FUCKING BED."
Naruto out of pure discomfort and disgust ran over to his bathroom and gathered every cleaning material he had and made a beeline straight to his room and changed his sheets for good measure.
(One Hour Later)
After finishing cleaning my room for the next hour, I walked back down the stairs, with wide eyes. I took a seat right next to Sakura and just stayed silent, not wanting to speak, wink, or even breathe. At that moment all I wondered was how it feels to be shellshocked.
I was scarred for life after making the realizations of the badge and because it was pretty much plastered on my face, Sakura saw, looked at me confusingly, and then asked me
"What's up with you, you're an hour late, you dummy!"
I heard what she said, but I didn't even wanna speak now, as my mind was far too occupied with thoughts of what my dad was currently doing to my mom.
'What did she mean by anal' I thought before shaking it off and slamming my head on the table trying to force myself to forget I was ever conceived.
I didn't notice at the time because my face was down on the table, but Sakura was patting me on the back, trying to get some life back into me, while also asking me
"Are you okay, Naruto" in a rather worried voice.
This woke me from my mental paralysis and allowed me to finally breathe.
After letting out a heavy gasp, I started taking deep breaths, cooling myself down, and blinking rapidly, trying my best to force myself back to life.
After about five minutes passed, I finally managed to do just that and once I did, Sakura patted me on the back a couple more times and then asked me
"Is something wrong, Senpai?" she asked me, clearly worried.
I then turned to look at her and replied with
"Not just wrong, terrible."
"Why, what happened?" She asked me.
"Trust me, you don't wanna know" I replied.
Sakura was growing even more curious after the boy told her this, so she replied,
"I think I do."
Naruto however, decided to change the subject by saying
"Well how about we go back to studying huh, shall we?" With a forced smile, Sakura didn't waver though and demanded Naruto to spill his guts.
"Tell me what's wrong, right now!"
Naruto wasn't in the mood to fight, so he dropped his head and explained everything.
After having explained it all to the pink-haired girl, she just looked at him confusingly and told him to
"Join the club."
"It's happened to you?" was all I could say, Sakura just sighed but continued.
"Yeah, the only difference though is that my mom sounded a lot less enthusiastic than yours did, judging by how you're depicting it."
"What do you mean?" The boy questioned.
"Well one day, I walked in on my parents but what I saw was more pitiful than disgusting to me."
"What do you mean?" Naruto asked.
"Well, you see, when I walked into the room, I saw my dad with his eyes rolled back and his tongue hanging out his mouth, clearly having the time of his life. My mom, however, just looked irritated like she'd rather be anywhere else but there and was just forcing out numerous moans, trying her best not to hurt my dad's pride. But if you saw the look on her face, you'd see that she was completely bored as her eyes were turned in annoyance."
Naruto couldn't help but chuckle a bit as Sakura was explaining this.
"I wonder if she felt anything" Naruto said funnily.
"I honestly don't think so" Sakura responded. "You see, this happened for about two seconds until they saw that I entered the room and stopped. When my dad pulled out, I saw what he had, and let's just say, it was less than mediocre."
Naruto couldn't help but burst out laughing at this and after calming down, he looked at the pink-haired girl in the eyes, and asked her "Was it really that small?"
"I've seen crayons bigger than what he had" Sakura replied casually.
"Damn, you're doing your own dad dirty like this?" I asked her humorously.
"I honestly couldn't give less of a shit" Sakura claimed as she turned her head to look at the ceiling. "Let's just get back to studying."
"Of course," I replied as we both got back to work.
(Hours Later)
The study session was over, as it was now 10:30 PM, so we both made our way to the front door and after opening it for her, I told Sakura
"You know, this was a lot more eventful than I thought it'd be."
"Same for me" she replied.
"I didn't expect us to talk to each other as much as we did, but in the end, I'm glad we did" I said to her.
"Really, why?" She asked me.
"Because I got to know all the similarities we have, and it actually allowed for us to connect in a way I never envisioned we'd be able to. Like you're pretty fucking cool when you aren't trying to rip my head off" I explained.
I don't know why, but after I said this, Sakura blushed deeply and turned her head. After I spotted the blush, I asked her
"Are you okay Sakura? You look kind of red" with a teasing smile on my face.
Once Sakura turned back to look at me and saw me smiling though, she turned back and blushed even deeper.
"Are you hot or something?" I asked messing with her on purpose before she replied with
"N-no, you idiot, I'm leaving!" She yelled before running out the door as fast as she could.
'Okay, there's the Sakura I remember' I thought before closing the door. 'Good thing she doesn't live far I'd have offered to walk her home if she had stuck around.'
After these thoughts left my mind though, I grabbed my phone and thought about dialing the third and final girl that I'd need to study with for the week.
"Ehh I'll do it tomorrow, I need some rest" I thought before putting my phone away, walking over to my couch, and laying down on it, deciding to give the room of mine that I cleaned so thoroughly some time before using it again.
