At Fenton Works. Kurai was in the lab with the Fenton family and Tucker.
Jack was on a rampage. "I always knew that Phantom kid was a menace! Not only did he nearly kill Sam and Tucker, but he destroyed a perfectly good parade balloon and that's just plain un-American."
Jazz quickly came to her brother's defense. "But, Dad. It was just an accident. I for one am glad there's someone out there protecting us."
Jazz winked at Danny but it didn't cheer him up. Kurai was worried. At this rate…
"Me, too." Jack grinned "And they're called Masters' Blasters. Vladdie's team has style, guts, acne, and they're humans, plus they gave my this zippity-keen-o poster."
A poster with Masters' Blasters and the scribbled note: "To the old guy in the orange suit. Stop bothering us!"
"Why are your folks messing with the Fenton Portal?" Tucker asked Danny, but Jazz was the one who answered.
"Dad's breaking it down to stage one so he can update the software. He says this way, He'll be able to catch ghosts and download songs faster."
Tucker positively glowed in appreciation. "Isn't science awesome?"
Kurai forgot her worry as she smiled fondly. "It kinda looks the same way it did when you first got your ghost powers, Danny."
Danny glared at Kurai and her worry returned. "Can we stop talking about my powers, please? They're causing me nothing but problems, lately. I'm starting to think that maybe we'd all be better o! without 'em."
"Okay, that's enough for today. Come on Maddie, I'll let you rub my feet and remember, I have bunions." Jack grinned at his wife.
Maddie Nervously chuckled. "Thank goodness I'm wearing gloves."
Parents gone, Danny traced the metal circle that was the Fenton Portal. "This thing gave me my powers. I wonder if it could-"
"Danny, what are you thinking?" Kurai exclaimed. Her worries were coming to fruition. She had to stop him!
"Name one good reason why I should keep my powers." Danny said firmly.
"You're the target of hundreds of evil ghosts. Oh, wait, that's a bad one. I'll go back to rhyming "Phantom"." Tucker said.
Kurai looked up at Danny, tears in her eyes. "But you're a hero! Your MY hero, Danny, no matter what they say!"
The doorbell rang and Maddie and Jack answered it. Outside were Masters' Blasters, looking serious.
"Hey, Masters' Blasters, remember me? The old orange guy, I -" Jack began excitedly but was cut off as—
Masters' Blasters trapped Maddie and Jack in a net against the wall.
"Jack and Madeline Fenton, our readings indicate an ectoplasmic entity on the premises." Vid informed.
"By order of the mayor, you're both under arrest for harboring a ghost." Download finished.
Danny hit the wall with a glowing fist. "That does it! I'm goin' ghost! Can't catch ghosts anymore, almost hurt my friends."
Kurai reached for him. "Danny NO!"
Danny ignored her, and turned into Danny Phantom and powered up the portal. "Now my parents are arrested because of me?"
Kurai screamed. "STOP!"
The portal started up and he steps inside.
"Kurai. I'm sorry. I'm not the hero you want me to be. I can't save the world, I can't protect the Ghost Zone. I'm not a Prince, not a Savior." He sucked in a breath. "I'm just one kid. And I'm obsolete."
Danny pushed the button in the portal. It electrified him. He screamed and the ectoplasm was removed from his DNA. The portal shorted out and Danny stepped out in his human state with a white streak in his hair. Tucker and Jazz pull him away from the portal and it exploded.
Suddenly there was an ethereal scream from next to them. Kurai's body shook as Danny's ghostly power was ripped from her. She levitated in the air, shrieking in agony, then fell to the ground.
Danny hurried to her side. "Kurai! Kurai I'm sorry, I should've listened to you! I…I didn't know! I'm sorry!
He shook her, tears falling onto her now tanned face, having lost it's ghostly pale tinge.
"Please…"
"WAKE UP!"
