When we arrived we noticed the girl from before, along with the older Kone, and an older Ember.
"You are us aren't you." I said.
"Yes!" she replied. "Once our journey is done, we go back in time, and finish the quest there. It is actually rather easy. Just strike the pedestal, and on those stairs a portal through time appears. The first time we went through we struck the pedestal again to enter the hidden area of the Temple of Time, and retrieve the mirror shard, though I still don't know how that missing statue got to the top floor. The second was to travel back for Linkette and Saria's quest, and we then lived as a Kokori. Here these are all the poe souls we missed during our quest. We went back later and retrieved them. They will help, as will this wallet. It is the biggest you can get, so you won't need to see Agatha again."
"Thank you," I said, heading past and following the only path there. On the way to the portal I was attacked by five shadow beasts that I easily shrunk down and destroyed, before moving on, through the portal and into the past where I struck the pedestal again, causing a staircase of light to appear heading up to the stained glass window. Ooccoo and her son then ran past and up the stairs revealing the window was an illusion.
I then entered the part of the temple hidden behind the illusion window. Inside I split into Luna, Saria, and Linkette, finding Luna, keeping the Master Sword.
"Hey Linkette, Saria," I asked. "Did the two of you know about this?"
"No," Linkette said, "and the part out there was newer then we are used too."
"So either we went even further back in time, or not as far back, and it had recently been remodeled." I said.
"Probably remodeled," Saria said. "There were no statues before and the altar is gone."
"Got it!" I said as we approached the sealed big door. With a statue next to it.
"Hey, don't you think there's something odd about that statue?" Midna said, "In the grove, and the temple entry, there was always matching statues on each side, but there is only one here."
"Our future self did say a missing statue was on the top floor," Saria hummed. "Maybe bringing it back will open the way forward."
"Worth a shot," I said as we headed up the staircase after placing a small metal statue on the switch to raise a platform to climb up the steps where we met Ooccoo and her son again.
"Erm! Not so fast!" she said, "at last… this is it! This is where I've been trying to get too! The ancient technology of our people sleeps in this place. We've searched all over… and now we're so close I can SMELL it! Once we find that thing we can go home at last! Oh, gracious yes! Oh young girls. We're so close… so PLEASE help us find what we are looking for."
With that she jumped in my item pouch, as I sighed and fused back into Learning. I then headed through the locked door, thankful to the magical key. After defeating a couple young Gohma's giving me bad vibes, and having Midna teach me how to use Twilight magic to travel through bars. I defeated several Lizalfos as Midna destroyed an Armos with the cannon, revealing the dungeon map. Next me and Midna went through the gate and through the door to a room with a large pillar, and a poe behind a gate that I went through and destroyed.
"Huh," Midna said, having seen my animal form. "Your animal form really is a mix of all three of your animal forms, and has your wedding ring at the base of your tail."
"Told you!" I laughed before we floated up to the top door in the room.
On the other side was a couple beamed and several moving walls that we just floated over, gaining the compass when we accidentally floated over the wrong wall, before following the path to more walls we floated over, sending blasts of energy down to destroy the Dinolfos from where they could not reach us.
The next room had lots of Gohma larvae and Young Gohma, after destroying them we followed the stairs to the next door, which had rolling spike traps and walls we floated over to an area with more gohma larvae. And two armos. Past that was a locked door leading to the top floor with a domed ceiling, and the statue up high being guarded by a Darknut.
One that I wrapped in vines before letting Midna blast it with the cannon, destroying the armor before I finished it off with the Master Sword. This opened the gate revealing a chest containing the Dominion Rod, which we discovered could move the statues.
"Looks like we need to use that rod to move this statue to the other one at the base of the temple," Navi said.
"Not really," Midma said, "now that I have my true power back I can warp us back there directly."
"Do it!" me, Ember, and Kone agreed.
With that Midna warped us back to the door, with the statue in place. This opened the path to a dark room leading to the boss room. Luckily it was easily traversed by merging with the shadows. On the other side we found four giant statues, and four pillars of light.
We seperated into threes each of us and Midna approached a statue.
"Are these statues the enemy?" I asked.
"I don't know," Linkette said.
"If so it feels too easy with the Dominion Rod," Midna said.
"True…" Saria said. "Whoa!"
Turning to look at her we saw she was gone and a red beam of energy disappearing with no sign of Saria.
"Saria!" we yelled in despair before sighing in relief when she popped out of the shadow of the statue.
"How did I do that?" Saria questioned in shock.
"You must have gained Twilight Magic, either when we fused or when the Twilight energy caused us to age," I said as we looked at where the beam came from only to pale when we saw Twilit Arachnid Armogohma.
We then had to cover our ears as Midna screamed in fear, and used the Darklight mirror to summon EVERYTHING and destroy it, utterly.
"Sorry!" she said when she recovered. "When I was a kid I snuck out to play only to run into one. I've been terrified of them ever since."
"That's fine," Saria said. "Everyone has fears."
"That's true," I agreed.
"And you even destroyed the boss, and revealed the mirror shard." Linkette added holding it up.
"Let's just get out of here," Midna muttered, taking the mirror shard and warping us out where we left the past and discovered the dominion rod had run out of power.
