Chapter 15 - The Yukiko's Promise

Yuugi found himself assimilating the astonishing discovery about his friend's ability to take control of his body while absorbing the explanations given by her and how much these revelations fit into the gaps in his mind and the question of why he felt weak, only feeling better the next day because Yukiko had decided to train the use of her own powers on his body and that this did not demand his Kiei, causing him to recover gradually.

While managing the information, going from confusion to amazement and then to fear because it was too disturbing that you lost control of your body with another being taking it, the young man saw her face that showed shame and sadness, with the same shrinking his wings and avoiding his gaze at all costs by keeping the orbs fixed to the snowy ground while sighing heavily. The moisture in the blue orbs was visible, making them shine with unshed tears. It was a fact that she felt guilty and ashamed for her actions.

Yukiko was his first and best friend also the only true one because when he was a child, his exotic appearance and short stature made other children and young people look down on him. Only when he began to assume the functions of a priest along with the fact that he had befriended the daughter of the Moon Goddess, did the other young men change their attitude when they approached him, showing big smiles at the same time that they wished to meet the chosen one the daughter of the Moon Goddess, with Yuugi being fully aware of their falsehood while the albino was her first and only true friend.

Then, as it reflected everything that happened and the sacrifices she made to save him, reaching the point of being confined within him to save his life, he began to absorb the albino's reason for taking control of his body when considering the situation in which both were in the hands of their captors coupled with the protective instinct in relation to him, in addition to understanding her hidden training because all her actions were aimed at saving him from a cruel fate. A destiny that she would never allow to happen if it depended on her will and that she would go to any extreme to protect him, sparing no effort to save him.

The young priest was fully aware of this fact because he could feel the intensity of his friend's protection and that it was maternal in relation to him unlike the brotherly one he hoped to feel, making him be surprised as they came to have access to the feelings one on the other for what he understood of the bizarre situation in which they found themselves.

After all, Yuugi could not conceive of any plan to free himself from slavery together with others, without involving any conflict while he seriously doubted that he would be able to contain them without killing them, something that he would be unable to do, just as he was not capable of hurting them them while you would feel really bad for what you did.

In addition, the young man remembers that his friend is inside him and as a result of that fact, he is unable to do many things that he would like to do, since he does not have a body of his own, making him remember her comment of wanting to eat and after the albino saying that he was not hungry and that the comment was motivated by the desire to eat, itself.

The young man felt sorry for Yukiko because his childhood friend had worked magic in her desperation to save him and she didn't know how to undo it, with both of them not understanding how far it would go or if one day, she would manage to get out of it in a new way body.

Yuugi sighs and smiles gently as he brings his face close to hers, kneeling so that she looks at him because his nose is touching the floor, making her look stunned by his kind face.

"Okay. I understand your reasons and I am fully aware that I would not be able to hurt anyone, let alone kill. I also believe that they would not allow us to flee without having to act in an extreme way. However, I do not like the fact that I know that they were killed, even though I was not their killer. " He speaks kindly while stroking the soft fur.

She is relieved to see that he was not angry with her for his actions, to later recover his voice as he raised his eyes and muzzle slightly.

"I was forced to stop them effectively, in order to prevent them from hunting the slaves who fled to imprison them again ... Do you remember the day of the attack on your village by soldiers and that you tried to hit them with the branches as gently as possible so as not to hurt them too much, causing them to have the strength to stand up, eventually causing a big fire as a result of their despair even though they had no intention of dying of burns "She looks up, looking intently to your friend who nods slowly. "This happened because they were not stopped in the right way when the strength of the branches was too much, causing many to rise. In such situations, a heart like yours only harms you, although I admire your nobility, amiability and kindness. It was for this reason that I took control. "

"I understand. I said I did. But it doesn't mean that I accept the death of people and I feel bad about knowing it." Yuugi speaks after sighing.

The albino and fuzzy dragon sighs.

"I know, Yuugi."

"Can I ask you a favor?"

"What favor, Yuugi-kun?" she asks although she knew what the request was considering her friend's heart.

"Please don't kill anyone if you ever need my body. Just stop them. Please."

She consents at the same time that she knew that Yuugi would make this request.

"I will comply with that request, my friend. I understand your reasons."

"Thanks."

Then he remembers one of the points in her explanation.

"Is it true that you managed to manipulate the branches without praying to the Goddess of the Forest?" He asks incredulously.

"Yes. I just needed to use your Kiei. There is no need to pray to use them." She speaks after sighing at the same time that she is absent from talking that she did not believe that his Gods existed because it would be shocking for him.

After being silent for several minutes, with Yuugi digesting about the terrifying and equally disturbing discovery, he says with his head down "I imagine my father and ancestors' reaction if they found out about it ..."

"Are you okay with this revelation?" Yukiko asks with evident concern on his face.

"Yes. I am only shocked because I confess that it is something terrifying."

After twenty minutes of silence, he comments worriedly "Are my parents and the others all right?"

"I don't know. But know that if they kept the escape pace, they succeeded with their escape. I watched them, sometimes, with my vision to check their escape and verified that they had covered a considerable distance, in addition to having successfully disabled the only access to the place to which they fled. "

Yuugi starts to imagine how his family and the people of his village would be at the same time that he prayed to the Gods that they would be well while he left the place, mounted on his horse.

A few hours later, with the young man enjoying freedom while contemplating nature in his surroundings, he hears his friend's voice in his mind.

"About your Gods ..." Yukiko begins to murmur but then falls silent, cursing herself for having started this subject, since the Gods gave hope to her friend.

Yuugi arches her brow at what she murmured in her mind and showing curiosity about what her friend wanted to talk about the Gods, he starts to talk mentally.

"What about the Gods?"

In this, the young man notices his silence and then speaks in exasperation "Can you talk ... Why are you silent, friend?"

"Since I managed to use your Kiei without praying and considering that I was never the Goddess of the Moon along with the fact that I never saw any deities while living in that place, I do not believe that your Gods exist, Yuugi-kun." The dragon speaks in a guilt-filled murmur after sighing deeply.

The young man is silent for a few minutes, being expectant for the albino.

"I was reflecting on the fact that you were able to use my Kiei without knowing the proper prayers for each of the Gods. When we were together, we talked about everything but that. If you were able to execute Kiei without prayers, I have to accept as true the fact that it is not necessary to pray for them. But it does not mean that the Gods do not exist. They can exist ... ". He murmurs mentally after being in a contemplative state.

"Yuugi-kun ..."

"It is difficult for someone who was raised to be the next high priest not to believe in their existence or to discuss whether they exist or not. But it doesn't mean that I'm going to close my mind to that thought. My father would, yes, close it. Not me. However, if I guide myself to their non-existence, how could I explain my moon symbol on the back of the neck? I was born that way and told about the ability of someone to be born with this symbol. Having such a capacity is not a light thing. If not, it is the work of the Gods, what would it be? "

"In fact. This ability can be seen as incredible for many while being equally sorry, if used. I sincerely wish that you would never use this skill. "

"It is like I said. If it wasn't the Gods, why was I born with that ability? "

"I don't know ... Maybe it's not something that the Gods did. There is always the hypothesis that you were born predestined to something without the help of Gods. For example. Kiei. A mysterious power capable of controlling the elements and nature itself, being something that only their ancestors and consequently, descendants, are able to execute. Even if it is only temporary control and limited to one area, the fact that it controls a small part of Mother Nature's great power at will is formidable. "

Yuugi is surprised and comments, arching his brow "You don't believe in Gods, but you believe in other forces besides them. Don't you find it a contradiction? "

"This may initially sound like a contradiction, but a power above them does not necessarily mean a divine power. Or it may actually be a divine power over other gods. We have no way of knowing exactly. Furthermore, I am not talking about a God or Gods above others or something similar to that, but about a different power that was the same power that brought me to you. I believe in this hypothesis because there is no other explanation for our meeting together with the fact that I do not belong to this world. I can feel that."

The young man knew how contemplative his friend was whenever he tried to remember who she was and where she came from, who or what brought her and what her life purpose was.

In fact, the only thing Yukiko knew and not in the sense of knowing, but of feel, was the disturbing sensation that he did not belong in that world and that was the only certainty in his life when he saw that his friend was unaware of the fact that that albino had filled one of these gaps, in this case, her life purpose when she decided to protect her friend at all costs, no matter how much she knew it was an almost impossible task and the reason for this choice, in addition to the intense friendship she felt for he, it was the maternal feeling that took her as strange as that thought was and that was powerful enough to propel her to move heaven and earth for Yuugi.

The young man comments after being in a contemplative state for a few minutes "I understand your reasons."

In that, he hears her yawn.

"Do you want to rest?" Yuugi asks as he smiles.

"Yes. Until later, Yuugi-kun. Take care."

The albino felt that the reason for his tiredness was because he used his power to keep his friend sleeping soundly together with the management of his powers and abilities in his body because it took control of a body and made him use his powers, causing some modifications were not frivolous, especially since it was her first time, with Yukiko hoping it would be the last time she would need to take control of his body.

After all, she wouldn't like to feel a male groin again, with the dragon blushing three crimson tones at the thought, only to show an annoyed countenance when she saw that her mind reminded her of the sensation, causing her to snort, then.

"What happened, friend?" He asks with evident concern on her face when he hears her huff.

"It is too unpleasant to remember."

"Which?" Yuugi asks curiously.

"From your groin when I was forced to take your body to free us. After all, I am a female and not a male. "

Yuugi blushes intensely as he murmurs "Sorry."

"There is no reason to apologize. You cannot do anything about it. After all, it is a male and I am a female. In addition, my control over your body was necessary. But it doesn't mean that I appreciate this anatomical difference between us. "

After a few minutes of awkward silence, he cuts it off when he remembers his friend's previous request.

"It can leave. I will be careful. "

"I wait. See you later, Yuugi-kun. "

"See you later, Yukiko-chan" He speaks using the suffix "-chan" that she taught him to speak and that it has become an affectionate nickname used only between the two.

Then, he leaves the mental conversation and makes the horse walk again while following a path through the trees.
