The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined I: The Mighty Ducks
Warnings: With this chapter, that conversation between Reilly and Bombay is going to be repeated twice now here, before Adam comes into the picture next. This is going to be a re-imagining of the Mighty Ducks trilogy as Charlie meets Orion at the age of 10, as their lives are fused together. As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth.
And this soon, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team. This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story.
With this story line trilogy, this is going to be a what if Orion had been with them from the very beginning now. As he's training them in between the time that Bombay leaves to when he comes back. In the second film when the sextet join in, and when the committee of the games picks him. And when they start at the academy right now, as Charlie's personality switch is fake as is Adam's.
And his transfer to the varsity, so all of the next 3 movies is having him around and as they get older now.

Chapter 2: Team Meetings and Unexpected Decisions
"School coach?" he asked and the man nodded gently to him. "I am, I work as a high school hockey, the JV in truth here right now at the academy now. So been playing for 2 years, son?" he asked and he nodded. "We weren't doing so good, till Coach got us started and we actually managed a tie game between us and the Cardinals. But after checking records, going on a guess here, he realized Banks was supposed to be with us."
"Something weird is going on, if he's hanging around with these guys, but Peter and Karp are his version of us in the Hawks, the way he said that, by that I mean Karp. But he's not a Duck, he's a Hawk wearing a Duck jersey in my direct opinion. Peter with him right now in truth, but these idiots are the biggest troublemakers in the team. Used to dealing with preteens to teenagers, well that helps right now at the current moment now."
"Then again they're stuck in the past right now, if you're acting as assistant coach for our team now, but as Captain of the team there are a few things you need to know. Before you meet these idiots face to face right now, these boneheads never learned this before. So why start now in all truth, you're a high school teacher as the older we get now and the sterner you need to be, for the 7 of us, that's the sextet and me now in truth here."
"We don't mind, you practically raised us yourself, so for the rest of us we love you now, as we saw you as a father, so for the sextet, me and the trio. It's that's not a problem, but the biggest troublemakers on this team are the last of the 12 of us currently. Peter Marks has a very dangerous habit of eavesdropping on private conversations here. And misinterepreting the meaning of that said conversation here, while Dave Karp now."
"He comes up with some very sick pranks, the latest it was a wonder he never caused a car accident, but these idiots are the ones that lead the mutiny." he said and Orion nodded. "Which explains our walking right into each other as you and Lester actually ran up to my car to check on me right now." he said and Charlie nodded. "And boy are they going to get it as they heard your shout to stay put and we came to you right now."
"So now what?" he asked and Orion nodded sternly. "And there's a tone you guys hear day in and day out with me once you make JV squad, before and after. And that's not if, but when if I take over as co-coach now, but this is the end of the line now. As Hank said how many attempts before they, their parents your mother and me. We decide enough is enough and pick ourselves in choosing the latest." he said and Charlie smiled in relief.
"Was hoping you'd say that, you think we could give it a shot and as we get through this season, as they see you had enough now, dad?" he asked and Orion nodded gently to him then. 'Just getting to know me and already he's filling me in on what I need to know on these troublemakers. My 10 year old son, he's letting me handle this, before they distract him into blowing it if that's what happened in the first Hawk/Duck game now.'
'Alright gentlemen, this picking on my son is coming to an end right now, as I'm three things at once here at the moment, but coach, teacher and parent. So want to cross me, once you start at the academy, not if, but when, and you're getting me. And as far stricter then you remember, as you're outside of the school system now. But inside once we get the entire team those scholarships.' he thought sternly as he answered him then.
"This is my first year as coach, but being a single man with no kids, is completely different to being a parent and teacher. When you're a coach, but Ted has more experience to handle that then I do." Gordon said and he nodded gently. "I quit last year as a player and took a teaching and coaching job under Buckley right now. At the academy Gordon, so I can handle being your basic teacher and Coach here now."
"So what can I expect once I take over as assistant coach?" he asked and Charlie crossed his arms. "The conversation we would have exchanged after you told us time to change here, but to these idiots, they don't want to grow up. But me, I know I got a baby sister, I have to now as I have a life outside of the team. So with that, after said game results in a brawl now, these idiots don't get that our plays right now won't work at that level."
"Us as Ducklings at our current age as Ducklings is done, we're teenage ducks and we need to change that playbook, but those jerseys were given to us. The new ones, as this version is basically saying duckling right now, the new set is teenage ducks. But a mixture of the old team and the new team, the 7 of us are old ducks, the sextet. They are new ducks once we become your version and that's a case of get the news ones."
"We got to earn them back and me my title, but unlike these idiots, you and I are faking this, that entire 2.5 months, you and me, like any father with his teenage son. But you know my acting out, the attitude with you is because I had it with Jared's team. Connie and the quintet know I'm faking that change of personality till Fulton and I come back. As the final stage of our plan kicks into gear, so just say this is after a case of hazing now."
"That results in a brawl and you break up the fight, but the said grudge match was to get them so overly confident they're going to beat us. Till we reveal how good we've become under you right now, so with that in mind, we're your team. So to them, the exchange is going to be here, once you tell us to take off the new ones as our originals. They're now just basic jerseys, these we use when we start school and as your own team now."
"To these idiots they're going to refuse, but there are only two options as we got to earn those back right now. But I never went against you in 4 years I'm not starting now in truth and the others with me, but these idiots now. They get in trouble enough and you're stripping them of several things." he said and Orion nodded sternly to that. "Not least of which is their continued time in remaining active, this in the school now."
"Student first over the athlete, and at the current moment, if your tutor says this she's right if we get chosen for something else, but school is optional. However, if you do not attend and keep those grades up and you will not be eligible to play. So to me the GPA is B's or better and with you guys this young still, stay clear of the toxic chemicals. You never minded before, but your mother and me gave specific orders to you now."
"To stay clear of the toxic chemicals and keep your grades up so you can continue playing now, that's not a problem right now, as I spent 4 years raising you. And you turned into a teenge me by that point now." he said and he smiled and she chuckled. "Well to these idiots now, you're breaking up the best thing any of us ever had." he said and Orion said it firmly. "Well it's time to grow up." he said firmly and Charlie said it firmly to him.
"And to say it out loud, and sorry..., dad, but grow up, like you, yeah a washed out pro having to show off to a bunch of kids, yeah that's real grown up." he said and the older man said it in stern finality. "Alright good bye Marks, anyone else?" he said and they ended it at that firmly. "You're not hearing that in my voice, but in Peter's, Peterson Marks and David Karp." he said and Orion nodded gently at the news then to him.
"The two little monsters I tried to catch twice, that's their names huh, alright, Peterson, start getting smart with me, and you're doing laps till I say you stop." he said sternly and Gordon nodded sternly in agreement. "Peter if you saw him was wearing a black leather jacket and the baseball cap turned backwards, Karp is blonde dressed in a Alaskan ski cap. And blue winter jacket, but they hear your voice and see you, dead duckling."
"And repeating what you would have said is it's time to grow up, but no one is forcing either of them to be there, it's their lives, they choose what to make of it. Then again to them after they see none of us make a muscle to join them, or say anything. And to them it's so much for friendship, this is the same as saying you want to go somewhere. And be somebody, well then you better wake up and pay attention starting now."
"Our relationship after 4 years right now, just what does he take me for a complete idiot, there are things on you guys I know that no one else does. As the truth comes out, even before they cross the line in remarks right now, not an only child. But a big brother, I got to grow up and take care of my baby sister, she's my world. These idiots are trapped in the past, I move on now and become the me you know, she's 5 years old right now."
"At that age, I'm close to being on babysitting duty, a couple more years and if you guys want to go out for the night, I can take care of her for a few hours, dad. She's got me all her life now, leading into when I start college right now. There are more important things to me then these idiots know, my family, my soulmate. Whoever it is and soon enough making a choice between leaving here or doing school here right now in truth now."
"But you better make it clear here, because in his eyes, once we switch the jerseys out, he's going to know one door shut and another opened. Our time as who we used to be is over and in their place are our new version of the team. That team becomes your version as we switch players and start a new life now, under you. As our new coach, so new school, new teacher, friends, but we still got you." he said gently and they nodded then.
"In which case, the team is a gang, a gang a family, so for us, it's come home, it's come home to the team, to you, and these idiots don't get that, not yet. So sure, new school, new teachers and new friends, but we still got each other, and you, we'll be okay. But that's just their problem, they don't get that, not yet, but I sure do as I know. You're waiting for me to come back and then comes the big one, but why leave at all right now."
"When I created a life for myself at the academy, and I have a girlfriend, we made some friends with our class version of her club. And their adult leader, in whatever sport he does, if he's like you in truth at the moment. But come on right now, these idiots never consider this, so say the guys are either out of town. Or bail, all of this was a trap, till the said game between us and your ex team." he said and he nodded with smile gently.
Pressing his forehead to his, Charlie closed his eyes and she smiled. 'Responds the same way every time I do that with him, Ted tries it, and he does it with him. Yeah no matter how old he gets, our baby boy, still just a cub with us, no matter how old he gets.' she thought smiling as Orion stroked his hand through the hair at the back of his head. 'Yeah my baby boy, that's him alright, going to be okay, baby.' he thought softly then to him.
As he ran his hand through the hair at the back of his head gently. "And this is the you I know, so though your godfather is out of town, I can complete your training. In this right now in this case, but these boys that keep getting you in trouble. They are facing a more stern coach, but they are not forcing me out, not when I just got you back." he said and Charlie smiled as he explained it to him gently as he went over it then to him.
"But I got a 5 year old daughter, Karen, so he's mine, only one way to find out, but you leave, in case the guys offer you a shot in the minors. And I can take over and train them Gordon, this gives him an added several with me now finally. As I get to watch his next 8 to 9 years as he gets older." he said and Charlie smiled at that, realizing the man was his biological father then. "You're my father?!" he said smiling and they nodded gently then.
"You're the exact replicate of me when I was your age, kiddo." Ted Orion said to him and he smiled. "Well this is going to give Reilly a shock when he sees me with my helmet off." he said smiling and and they nodded. "Just what was said here, if you decided to get me involved right now?" he asked gently and he sighed. "When Fulton and I decided to go out, they think we're a traitor for siding with you." he said and they nodded in shock.
"They called you a traitor, because you chose us, we're your parents for gods sakes, our age group, who raised you, taught you everything. You ever needed to know, and what if there was more to that conversation then he thought?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "Reacted too soon, but are you also a Hawk?" he asked and Orion nodded. "After that game I quit along with him, as I got training with better coaches then Reilly ever was."
"We left this idiot, because we both knew this, but that season shoved the point home right now in truth, we don't leave now. And we become the teenage to college age player that put the opposing team member in the hospital. As he effectively could have killed this kid, if he didn't come out of the coma he was in right now. But being a Hawk and staying with Reilly, is a one way ticket to prison." he said sternly and Charlie nodded.
"Dad, our conversation last week, what would your reason be for adding Banks, and we got two girls on the team, as you're also an ex Hawk?" he asked and Orion crossed his arms. "That Fulton should focus more on defense and you and the others, on offense cub." he said and Charlie nodded. "Coach was that your thinking, we need Fulton on protection duty and Adam focuses on offense and us with him?" he asked and Gordon nodded gently at that remark then.
"Yeah that's the reason alright in truth, till we get Fulton an added counterpart enforcer right now, he's the strongest of the team. But we do another forfeit, and this destroys where this championship leads for you." he said to him and his eyes narrowed then. "Well these idiots never considered that, but it's so what if the girls are left unprotected, we don't need Banks." he said and they both nodded sternly as he answered him then.
"Ducksworth fires me for choosing you guys and I'm suing the firm, but the look on Reilly's face after I guessed right, was enough to say it. Banks's sister has leukemia, he, that's Adam's father, he's trying to raise the money by placing a certain amount. And of money on each goal they make." he told them and they nodded in shock. "Then we help him out, we win this season, and that's it, but the last game of the season is Reilly."
"But to them, it's so what if the girls are unprotected, we don't need Adam." he said and Orion nodded. "Well they walk out that door, in my eyes, we forfeit the rest of the season, they ever consider this championship could be what turns your life around. As you become so good, whoever is willing to offer scholarship here right now. And to any private school in the city, but you drop out of the running your future never happens."
"They say we don't, well I say we do, but these guys got a more stern coach getting involved, but what this little brat says is nailing the coffin shut. And once we get the paternity test ran as that's your mother and my personal life. That we're talking about here now, Gordon, go, I'll take over, but we're calling a team meeting, if you dragged me. Now, into the conversation at the current moment here, Gordon." he said and Gordon nodded as Charlie sighed in relief.
"I'd have considered that bluffing high, till you told me now Charlie walked right into you at the moment, so that solves that problem, but Banks. He's as good as I was as a kid, but under us he makes it to the pros, but under Reilly right now. Is the only direction that way leads to is right to prison, and his brats don't realize they're now the Cobra Kai here." he said and Charlie nodded as he looked between them gently at that remark as he sighed in relief then
That he was saying that. "But this is like saying you know to you right now, when you know more and you're a skilled hockey player right now." he said sternly and Orion nodded sternly. "Or just giving us the finger and even that's enough to get them put on restriction and for a month right now." Casey said to him and he nodded. "Yeah, but I don't care if they are annoyed that I chose to do this right now in truth here, guys."
"But just made the correct decision by actually getting to the bottom of this right now in truth, but you just said captain in everyway you can say it. But if these two are picking on you, because for all I know I could be your godfather now. That's enough to get them in trouble right now, as to why, as you're the real leader of the 10 of you now. It's they never considered one thing here and said is Reilly is raving lunatic right now."
"Adam Banks is me when I was your age Charlie, but Reilly is like the father of the player that put your college double in the ICU, head injury. But that happens it's a one way ticket right to jail if you're over 18, Anderson's tv show, it just ended this year." he said and Charlie nodded, before he straightened at that remark. "Oh my god, so Adam's brother is too far gone to realize he's a murderer now?" he asked and they both nodded.
"No, not yet, Jared has me till he's 16 and then he switches coaches, to my Varsity counterpart, Coach Adam Wilson right now, but Wilson is like Reilly. I can get him back on the right course, his room mate with him right now in truth. But the boys and me, we're like you and Adam himself, but I can teach them plenty. But between 2 practices everyday, it's going to be a long spring semester." he said and they nodded then gently.
"Gordon if you leave for the minor's I can take the kids as this gives Charlie more time with me as he and I get in some father/son time now." he said and Gordon nodded smiling. 'That's a relief, though the cub is growing attached to me, he needs more time with his father, but my position, he's my adopted son now. I'm not married, but he's my cub, and I love him like my son, okay that's that.' he thought, to the truth coming out.
"With us he goes straight to the top, with Reilly, he becomes that hot tempered little hotshot right now, till it puts some opposing player in the hospital now. But Reilly was in shock I turned on him and he's going to get an even bigger shock. Especially when he sees Ted just sided with us right now in this situation." he said and Orion nodded then. "A retired lawyer/hockey player right now in all truth here, while I retired last year."
"But he quit and I gained even better coaches as I got older, but I retired last year, your sister was injured in a car accident this was why I quit." he said and Charlie nodded. "She okay?" he asked and he nodded. "Yeah, but she's paralyzed from the waist down, so wheelchair bound, she's the reason I chose to quit son." he said and Charlie nodded. "So just what happened, because I'm the first to know." he asked and he said it then gently.
"We were coming back from a movie, I was driving and we got sideswiped right now, the blow damaged her lower spine, after this accident. I chose to quit, knowing sooner or later the team was going to move somewhere else, and her doctor. And all her friends are here, so I decided to quit now, as I wasn't disrupting her recovery right now. Knowing I found you, I couldn't make an easier decision right now, I get to watch you grow up."
"Finally, watching your next 9 years this is perfect right now." he said gently and Charlie smiled as his mother smiled at this. "If those idiots even go there right know, they don't know you, there is so much more to you then they know. Sure you're a tough coach, well you got to be when you're a high school teacher here now. So wait till they, my side of the team, find out the truth, you quit for family and chose to be a teacher now."
"Academy, as in the Eden Hall academy, that's on the outskirts of the city." he said and Orion nodded. "I got a couple hotheads on the team currently here that I'm currently running their tails, till they stop acting like a spoiled brat right now. But you I spend more time on, as I know you're close to making captain right now, son. But you passed the test by actually looking into this, before asking me and then seeing my personal life."
"But this says captain in everyway you can say right now, currently right now in all truth as you get to the bottom of this right now. But Marks blew his chance right now, while playing his hand too soon right now in that at the moment here right now. And as for your getting that scholarship, and to the academy right now, we can make arrangements. But that's 4 years down the line and you got a lot of work to right now, in truth son."
"But get good enough and here's the real killer, but I'm coach of the JV team, son, but with you starting school there. Then it's I'm doing your entire sum years at the academy now." he said and Charlie smiled. "And that's my other aim now, as this is the big one, they have no idea who they're messing with right now. You're my father, that's not against the rules in middle to high school, for the coach of the team to be the father."
"And of a player or captain of the team, and there it is right now in truth, but I would do anything to have you being my coach, as I play for you later on." he said and Orion smiled gently at that remark. "Got a long way to go, but your friends better get an attitude change here right now." he said and Charlie nodded. "Well sting operation, but what is said is a getting killed vocally catch from you later, as someone is in big trouble."
"Because this is and was a sore subject for the three of us, as you lost 10 years and we're making up for lost time right now in all truth. But two families, I got a life outside of the team, but make me choose you or them and it's a no choice necessary. It's always going to be you." he said and she nodded gently in agreement to that remark. "I get why son, but before we go that far in the season, we got some family business to check on."
"We need to run a paternity test, but it comes back positive and the little brat is in big trouble if he even says that." Orion said gently and he nodded. "Casey, I got him right now, I can watch him for the evening, if you're working late tonight. But this starts something else, but I'm assistant Coach, Casey, Gordon. So if my name got dragged into the conversation, it was me now in truth now." he said to her and she nodded then.
And as they watched them leave as the first stop was to the arena then an headed for the security room. "Hey I'm Coach Orion, assistant coach of the Ducks, I need that security tape of the conversation between my friend and our ex coach Jack Reilly." he said and the security detail nodded and pulled it out then gently. "Kid looks just like you." he said and Orion smiled gently. "He's my son." he said and the man nodded gently.
"Well here you go, Coach Orion." he said and he took the tape as they left then. "Charlie, what's going on right now?!" they heard and Orion quickly turned to see a 11 year old who was 5' 9'' and he quickly answered him. "Dad and I got the security tape Fulton, we can blow the said lie right into ground, before Peter and Karp do something else here. Now, to get us all in trouble, Fulton this is my father, Ted Orion, dad this is Fulton Reed."
"He's the said sharp shooter we talked about." he said and Orion nodded gently. "Nice to meet you son, Charlie explained to me in what's going on right now. But we're working on getting it fixed right now." he said and Fulton nodded gently to him. "So his mother's high school boyfriend?" he asked and Orion nodded. "Yeah, but she didn't want to me give up my shot into the North Stars when I was that close, we stayed friends now."
"Turns out your brother was the reason, I just need to confirm it, but I made the choice on my own right now, after his sister was injured last year in a car accdent." he said and Fulton nodded gently at the news. "How's baby doing right now?" he asked him and he smiled gently. "She's going to be fine, but she's wheelchair bound now, but you guys are the first to get the truth, before those rumors get out of hand right now in truth."
"But that's two at once right now." he said and the duo nodded gently as Charlie lead him to the Halls apartment then and he knocked. "Jesse, Terry, it's me." he said and the door opened. "Charlie, what is it?" Terry asked and he pulled the tape. "I got it, this will explain exactly what you heard right now by eavesdropping, Jesse. But this stops the mutiny before a fight results in detention." he said and he nodded as he looked at Orion.
"And you are Sir?" their father Jason asked and he smiled gently then. "Jason it's me." he said and he froze up. "Ted, Ted Orion?!" he said in shock and Orion nodded and he smiled in delight. "Hey man long time, so what's this about?" he asked and he crossed his arms. "I'm taking the position of assistant coach actually, but I know you turned into me here now. And since we were kids ourselves right now." he said and Hall nodded gently at that remark then.
"Time for a play back right now." he said then gently at that remark and Orion nodded as he put the tape in then and pressed play at that and turned it on. "Gordon, hey Bombay, you stop when I'm talking to you son, you trying to sabotage me here?" they heard from Reilly then, "Hurts like a bitch when the law starts working against you, doesn't it Jack." Gordon said sternly and he said it quickly at that news.
'Whoa, I never expected to hear that from him right now.' Orion thought in agreement then sternly. "But you have a whole team worth of Banks's, one player won't make much of a difference." he said sternly and they heard a shocked remark at that. "Even with Banks, just what are you trying to prove here, with that bunch of losers?" Reilly said and Gordon said it in a mocking tone then, though protective.
"That's right, 'they' are losers aren't 'they', and we hate losers don't we, 'they' don't even deserve to live." he said as and Jesse nodded in shock, realizing he meant Reilly and the Hawks. "Again even with Banks gone, one player like him gone won't make much of a difference. At least we're playing by the rules, and for the record, I'm free of you at last." he said and Reilly said it shaking, then in shock.
"You been coaching for 30 years, Jack, but thing of it is, that as an adult, Ted and I could do this even better and even blindfolded right now. Ted has a teaching and coaching job at Eden Hall academy, but thing of it. Now is I see him coming to the games, his eyes on Conway right now. But Banks now, we both see it this way that we could do this even better and blindfolded here."
"But these kids are not so far gone you turned them into cold blooded killers, as of yet right now, but you're as bad as the father on that hockey episode. So exploiting any chemo patient's if they're 1 or 2 any cancer patient?" he asked and Orion knew he went pale at that remark then. "Banks's sister has cancer, doesn't she, and he's desperate to help her, you and his father are exploiting that."
"That's illegal Jack, and just wait till the judge hears exactly, in why exactly, I'd even call this into question, but that kid is me, Conway is Ted. But you ever consider every parent in the city hear why you're going about it like this. Putting a certain amount on the goals you make, this could, now, get you arrested for an arraignment, if there's an injury so serious right now."
"It puts said opposing team member in the hospital?" he said and Orion slashed his finger across his throat and Charlie put it on pause. "Oh my god, that's the part I never heard, we left, before we heard this portion of it then." Jesse said in shock and he nodded. "Reilly is a very sadistic when it it comes to winning in all truth, but he stays with him, that road leads right to prison." he said and the Halls both nodded sternly.
"Ted, Ted, he keeps bringing you up, you're his best friend, Coach?" Terry said and he nodded. "I am and till we fix this I'm taking over, but this has Karp and Marks facing a more stern coach right now." he said and the trio nodded. "Dead duckling walking right now." Fulton said and Charlie nodded sternly in agreement to that remark. "That's the understatement of the century right now in truth, that he reacted too quickly."
"And to the insult and played his hand too soon, though best guess was because we lead the charge in our jerseys." he said and Jesse nodded gently. "If it is, this was to marginalize you right now, because the team is listening to you. Keep it going son, I want to hear what else was said right now." Hall said to him and he nodded gently. "And you're clearly the obvious choice in captains here." Orion said and he nodded as he started.
"Banks has a lot of potential, but tradition be damned right now Jack, he still has his innocence, and I intend to make sure. Now that boy lives up to his true potential, without him turning into the kid on that episode. And that put an opposing team member in the hospital right now, as he stays under you. This road is leading right to prison, then right to the top, so it's me in your way."
"That it's once again going to be me that puts you back in second place, but we win that championship, and we go on to bigger and better things." he said with a growl at him. "Ted's retired from NHL, he made contact with me, but he said it directly, I ever need him to take over, he's going to do it right now, Reilly. But you never knew the brotherly bonds between us and he hates you for that."
"We make it to the championship, that pep talk is in a real coach mode between me and Conway, if one of your guys trips him or whatever. But we're free of you, being hawks, as we either got even better coaches training us. Or we just use what you taught us against you now, but what I guarantee right now here. Is that starting now your team now has it's new rival and carrying two of us."
"Us being the Hawks of 1973, only now we're adults and we're using what you taught these guys against you, like the books now starting now. And I tell him what I know on this, then Ted and I know he's going to see it. In the same way, Ted and me, a duo, us against the entire world once again. Well this time it's us against you, he'd take the coaching job, if I asked him too right now, Jack."
"As he's hated you ever since the 1973 championship game, so me or him, we're in your way starting now." he said and they heard a shocked tone then as Reilly said it then. "You remember Ted, as in Ted Orion, or to you Teddy Orion, but we're not kids anymore here right now in truth. Conway is like Ted, and Banks is me, before you destroyed me, well time to fix a repeater right in truth here."

"Well dead duckling walking right now with that news, we've been lied to all this time right now." Terry said sternly and Jesse nodded in agreement. "That's 4 members of the team, but we got work to do, but in Gordon's words, Banks can join the team if he wants to, it's up to him, but if Gordon said this right now in truth."
"Is that you got short changed here right now, but that 13 could be good or bad here, but this could be good luck rather then bad." Orion said to him and he nodded then. "Well you're the assistant coach now, what's your opinion, dad?" he asked and he explained that. "Well with the rest of you having that jersey longer right now here, that to be a duck, you got to act like one here, and secondly, wearing that jersey doesn't mean."
"Now, you're a real duck, you got to earn it." he said and the quartet nodded smiling. "There we go, we got him, alright so idea Charlie?" Jesse asked and he crossed his arms. "We still put him on the team, but he needs to earn his jersey, but wearing a ducks jersey doesn't make you a real duck, you got to earn it." he said and Jesse nodded. "Well Marks blew any mental edge against me." Orion said sternly at that remark gently then.
"Just wait till you go from from assistant to full with us, you practically raised us yourself dad." he said smiling and Orion nodded as he rubbed the back of his head. "I'm teaching at Eden Hall academy, so you get good enough and you're players once. Or if Derek decides to give you a full scholarship to the school right now." he said and the trio nodded. "This is going to be a long 4 years right now." Jesse said to him and he nodded.
"Well if Gordon leaves, you're training in the off season for the next years boys." he said and they nodded to the decision. "You need to keep your game up, before we get chosen for something else, but this championship opens up a few dozen opportunities. And looks like Marks just barely destroyed your entire futures right here in truth. And for lying to the entire team right now in all truth here." he said and Hall crossed his arms then.
"Jesse, you realize how close you came to getting us in trouble, if I never found my father?" Charlie asked and he paled at that. "To the adults, this all could have been prevented, if you bothered to ask, in why he would come to this decision. Because my father already explained this to Averman and me, saying Fulton needs to focus, protecting the girls. Or do his shooting, can't do both till we get his counterpart enforcer." he said and Jesse swallowed hard at that.
"But are you determined to keep things like this, even if it means Connie and Tammy's safety?" he asked and he went white at that. "Your distrust of the Coach caused this, sooner or later you were going to hear something you didn't like and when you do. I just fixed things in such a way, it means a far more stern coach now, one who's a parent." he said and he swallowed hard. "And thank you for alerting us to this, Charlie, we owe you son." Hall said and he nodded sternly.
"Uncle Jason, my father was the goal, in mine and Averman's eyes now, I spent the last month with him, since Bombay became our coach. Playing for dad as my coach, but in Bombay's words, we win this championship, we move on to bigger and better ones. But even if that means taking drastic action, I just fixed this problem in such a way now here. Is that we win the champions in or outside the school system, we get into the academy, to become their J.V. team now."
"Dad's the coach of their J.V. team now, but at the moment we got some serious competition on that, the current J.V. is our version's older brothers: The Hawks." he said and the Halls nodded to the news. "To put this bluntly, with dad being a pro player, we decided if these idiots were not going to use his knowledge and we do. That we just gave the Hawks a run for their money, and I mean that literally right now, because this competition means their first year tuition now."
"We're playing for that money, because together, they are the rest of what the Hawks are trying to raise in amounts right now. But for Averman and me, he and I want to play for him, dad, we want to play for dad and the only way we can do that. Said is by nipping this in the bud and calling a team meeting as it came too close, Peter got caught in his lies finally." he said and the Halls nodded sternly, realizing now how close Charlie had grown to his best friend at that news.
"So just why would Ted be planning on taking over right now?" Annie asked and he crossed his arms. "What do the rest of the team have that I don't and the closest I could come to it is the coach, till I realized we walked right into my father?" he asked and her eyes narrowed. "A father." Hall said and he nodded sternly. "So what happens without a positive male influence in your life and these idiots are close to the end of the line?" he asked and Orion crossed his arms.
"At this age from 10 to 20 is the most critical part of your development in needing a positive male influence in your life. Without it, you get in trouble with the cops, start taking drugs, have a child out of wedlock and the end of the road is prison. Just like you guys saved Gordon, we saved you from a life as J.D." he said and Jesse went white at that news. "Prevention over cure is the only way to go, so grow up Jesse, you're throwing a temper tantrum at his decision here."
"You realize once your father heard this, and he's just as bad as my dad, where being a stern parent is a concerned?" he asked and Hall nodded with a bemused smile at that remark and Orion nodded. "Paraphrased as I heard what you said to cause this intervention, you're all getting an earful from the entire parental gang." Hall said sternly and they both swallowed hard. "Leave Lester and Fulton out of this, it's the quintet." Orion said sternly and he nodded then.
"They took the duo's words at face value, but their protection never crossed the girls minds and Tommy, Guy, Gregory with them, Lester could have been blackmailed for all I know." Orion said sternly and Hall nodded in shocked fury at that remark. "Yeah dead duckling walking right now, alright boys, you should have realized that the second your team captain pulled an intervention. You were going to get it after getting caught in your lies finally." Annie said sternly to that news.
"We got to show this to the others, but Coach Bombay would be prepared to stop working for the firm, give up his job at the firm for us." Charlie said and they nodded gently at that. "Well Gordon talked me into taking over, looks like I won't need to now, you have his eyes. But let me guess, Ted, you're the father, you and Casey did it, I know you got married. But she didn't want you giving up your shot, and you ran into him at the diner?" he asked and Orion nodded then.
"Not the diner, we met last month after Peterson and David's latest prank nearly caused a car accident, and nearly a triple pile up." he said and Hall nodded sternly. "Charlie and Lester found me now and we grew beyond close it was after the attempted mugging. That I decided to get the boys off the street, and started after school tutoring here, worked too well. The boys quickly grew attached to me, and handpicked me for the last coach." he said and the Halls nodded then.
"Dad again, you were my goal, these next 9 years, I want to play for you as my coach." Charlie said and he nodded as he pulled him into a hug and the Halls smiled gently as Charlie buried his head into his shoulder. "Been together a month, the word has nearly come out like 70 times now, and now he gets to say it for real." he said and they both nodded smiling then. "Coach, I think that the reason he called us a traitor now was because he never wanted this now."
"He never wanted to lose his position as so called leader of the team, Karp followed his lead, but if Averman, Charlie and I agree with you. Well then they got a power struggle now getting started here, but no one measured up, and till you and Bombay came into the picture. That's his biggest fear, you're Charlie's mentor, his role model, giving him the strength. Now to actually stand up to him, and now his biggest fear comes to pass." Fulton said and he nodded sternly.
"Charlie asked this same question for both himself and Lester and I said this same response." he said and the trio nodded gently. "But if we make it, becomes, 'if we are to make it, Banks can and could be a very big help.'." he said and the trio nodded in shock to that. "Care to tell me Jesse, in why you took said insult at face value, before calling your brother a traitor?" Orion asked and they both paled at that remark as the Halls looked at them in shock at the news.
"Charlie and Lester already asked me that question, to protect the girls, Fulton should be protecting them, and you guys be focused on the shooting. But they did the correct thing, asked first before freaking out, but are the girls safety not important to you?" he asked and they both flinched and and Hall crossed his arms sternly. "Because if Connie meant anything to you, you would ask your parents their opinion." he said sternly and Jesse swallowed hard at that remark.
"Jesse Richard, is that true, you never asked, before Peter gave that accusation?" His mother said warningly and he nodded and Hall nodded sternly. "Charlie and Lester did the correct thing you guys call him, Fulton and Lester traitors, young man. Just what is wrong with you, do you want Constance and Tamara getting hurt, to keep things like this. Charlie had the right idea, get an adult's opinion and…., Ted, where you meet up exactly?" he asked and he crossed his arms.
"The diner, where else, Jase'." he said and they nodded in fury. "Great, that's just great, any gossip this juicy will be all over the district in 24 hours and all over the city. In 3 days, way to go young man, the rumor mill will say 'not considering the safety of the only girls on this team. The majority called Charlie Conway and Fulton Reed, let alone Lester Averman traitors. For only siding with their coach, for protecting the girls.'!" she said in anger and he went white at that.
"As if that's not enough, Peter blackmailed Lester, over said first encounter with me now." Orion said and they went white in fear at his remark then. "If you're wondering why I'm calling your brothers by name, I knew your parents all my life. But we all wanted to go pro, but that faded as your fathers got older and grew up right now. Once you start a family, the priorities change, it's like being a soldier, well I retired after Karen was injured." he said and he swallowed hard.
"That's how Charlie found you and Lester with him, their, Peterson and David, but their latest prank nearly destroyed the car again, Ted?" Hall asked and he nodded. "It did, but Charlie has enough on these little brats to have them shot, and I just gave them their way out. But what you heard is a rumor, what I just told you is stone cold proof in truth. And who are we going to believe, Charlie or the biggest troublemakers on this team?" he asked and the Halls nodded.
"Jeez, if we were anyone, we're the Crusels and Kincaids right now, we just got to get the Parkers next." Hall said in annoyance. "Constance finds out the truth, she's going to kill him right now, but pre-emptive strike, before this puts the entire team in detention." his wife said and Orion nodded sternly. "His mother and I already had that discussion, but his schedule became Lester's schedule, but practice 3 times a week and study for 4, starting now."
"But Rick, Claire, Adam and Joe are going to agree with this anyway." he said and they nodded then. "You're not getting any argument from us, if this means keeping those two from landing my sons in juvenile hall, well then so be it." Hall said and Fulton nodded gently. "Practice 3 times a week and study period for 4, nice thinking, this helps in keeping us out of trouble, Coach. But 4 years together, we know you, so we know what to expect." he said and their parents nodded.
As there was a knock on the door and he went to get it. "Coach, my father just showed up here." he called out and Orion nodded as he moved to him. "Andrew Reed, nice to meet you, Coach Orion." he said and Orion shook his hand. "Call me Ted, Andrew, nice to meet you too, the boys call an emergency team meeting right now, Lester got my opinion. And before the boys over heard the exchange, Fulton sided with Gordon and me." he said and Reed nodded then.
"Charlie's my son, Andrew, Casey's my first wife, got divorced, because she never wanted me giving up my shot, and I retired a year ago. After his sister, my daughter, was injured in a car accident, but I can teach the kids plenty, as this season. It ends with us putting Reilly back in second place for the second time in 19 years, only if we get everything on the table. So team meeting after we get Lester and the quintet here." he said and Reed nodded sternly to that.
"Hey son, I heard the clang right now, alright what got hit this time exactly?" he asked and Charlie started laughing. "The shot bounced off the fence and hit the newspaper vending machines at the diner, scaring the neighborhood cat out of their wits in the process." he said and Reed nodded smiling. "Nothing broken Andy, but he scared the cat of it's wits right now." he said and he nodded gently. "You can call me that if you want." he said and Orion nodded then gently.
"Ooh-Kay, so to sum this up, Charlie and Lester kept bumping into you and then asked you directly after the Cardinal game. And you said our direct thoughts, Fulton should be protecting the girls, and 'if we make it' now becomes, 'if we are to make it.'. Well boys, just what you got to say for yourselves here, Ted said our direct thoughts on this. And if you bothered to ask, you wouldn't be in the doghouse, family gang starting now." Reed said and the duo nodded sternly.
"Good point, we're a family gang and we added 4 new members in the side of a month, If Adam takes the offer and joins in and we become a team of 11 after this, but Adam's behavior. It's only because he's in emotional pain over his sister right now, that doesn't make him bad. Just misunderstood, Reilly cost Bombay his love for the game, he was praying he never saw Reilly. And this soon, after blowing the shot, but that was a rumor, this is fact right now in truth here."
"When you know that Peterson, let alone David, gets in trouble so much even their own parents don't trust his truths?" Hall added and they started, shaking. "What is talked about between us opposing coaches is none or your business, sooner or later. You were going to hear something you weren't going to like, but believe it or not right now. Us adults now come to decisions you kids don't always agree with, but are forced to follow nonetheless, but it's always here now."

"But like he said, 'if we make to the playoffs' becomes in the eyes of us adults now, 'if we are to make to make.'." he said and they swallowed hard, realizing their distrust of their new coach got them into this mess then.

He said this to get Charlie marginalized by calling him a traitor, when he is just doing as any good captain does. "You never thought of that did you, but coach, mentor surrogate parent, everything the captain needed. And either boy or girl is with the said coach, what the players can't tell the parent they tell their coach. And Hank already said Peterson hates adult authority in general." he said as Charlie sat next to Orion with Fulton behind them then.
"Young man sooner or later, Peterson was going to get caught in his lies, and then it happens when Charlie finds me, but your father. He thinks like I do, but why do you suppose Charlie decided to change directly after finding me. Well reasonable authority figure in his life, though Gordon is your coach, I was the emergency legal guardian. And til the bomb gets dropped, he's my son, so two calls to make, as the next position in his life, is the big one now in truth."

So what's worse then your dad picking you up at the police station?" he asked and they went white at that. Charlie said and he nodded gently.
"But like he said, sooner or later Peterson was going to get caught in his lies and it happens when Charlie walks right into his father and Lester with him. But what is talked about is none of your business." Annie Hall, the duo's mother, said sternly and they nodded, sighing. "So that's what Bombay was trying to say, and we never gave him the chance to explain himself." Terry said, looking down and then looked up at his father as he asked the next question gently at that.
"Dad what would your reasoning be for adding Banks, though we got 3 new players?" Terry asked and Hall crossed his arms. "With the fact we got 2 girls on the team, Fulton should focus on their protection and Adam and you guys should focus on offense." he said and Charlie nodded. "Dad said that, word for word." he said and Hall nodded to him. "Looks like we're, that's our parents, are all on the same page, best ask their parents right now in truth on that."
"They all say the same thing and Peter and Karp are done." Jesse said sternly and Charlie nodded in agreement. "Gordon's preparing an airtight case against Reilly if that fight in the game lays out Banks." Orion said and they nodded sternly. "Team meeting guys, but I'm calling it for 3 times a week boys." he said and the duo nodded gently to that. "So one tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday now, got it." Jesse said to him and he nodded.
"And I bet Jared's brother is wondering why you're blowing off practice with them to train us right now." Charlie added and he smiled. "Well why not, I barely know these guys, you're the children of my friends in one case. And my high school girlfriend in the other, my son, so I train you and you grow in experience, as I watch you kids grow up." he said and they smiled as the Halls exchanged smiles at that remark as Hall got up then.
And dialed a number then. "Eric, yeah this is Jason, listen, I'm calling a team/family meeting at my house, get Jack, Peter, and Joe, and bring the quartet here. Charlie just exposed the truth to what it was Jesse heard right now, yeah we got the tape here. Yeah turns out that Gordon got himself a back up coach said just happens to be Ted. Yeah Ted Orion and the bomb got dropped, Charlie's his." he said to him and nodded gently then. "See you soon." he said and hung it up.
An hour later the sextet arrived and Orion crossed his arms. "Hey Coach, good to see you again." Lester Averman said smiling and he nodded gently. "Remember our exchange, the axe just fell, I arrived in time for hearing these two brats considered Charlie and Fulton. Now traitors, but kids, you ever consider it's not wrong to side with your parent. If they're the said coach now, which I just happen to be?" he asked and the quartet looked down at that remark.
"Or just the godfather?" Averman said, realizing what he meant and the quintet all paled at that remark. "God…., the Coach is Charlie's godfather, you are…!" Connie Monroe said in shock and he nodded sternly to her. "I am young lady, Charlie is my son, I am the Ted Orion your parents keep talking about. The Ted the guys keep mentioning, why do your parents watch my games on tv, well it's I'm their best friend and husband, to Casey." he said and they swallowed hard then.
"That and considering the reason could be to protect you, ladies?" Hall said and the girls looked down. "Lester, our talk after said Cardinal game ended in a tie." Orion said and his eyes narrowed in fury. "Leave me out of this, you're the ones that reacted immediately, Charlie and I already had that exchange with…." he started to say and Orion smiled. "Uncle kiddo, Uncle Ted, like I said, friend of the family in your case, and your brother's father in his now in truth now."
"His mother's my first wife, we got married right out of high school, but she got pregnant when we were 21. Not wanting me to just give up my shot, I chose that last year with Karen like I said right now, then again, no need to explain. You met your baby sister already right now, that to you guys, this was the best thing for all us. As if this is us now, then what will we be like when you became my next team as the JV, son." he said and Averman smiled in delight at the news.

This is great, I finally get to spend as much time as possible with you starting now, alright. So coach, your knowledge in science class, that's your class, you're a science teacher?" he asked and Orion nodded. "That tank you'd use on the Varsity's stuff, that's from my lab, Lester, but if that's payback for it."
"Whatever it is, remind them what they hit could kill someone next." he said and they nodded. "And there it is in your basic science remark, for every action there is an equal, but opposite reaction, case in point, cruel practical jokes. They now result in a raid at their dormitory till we have them so ticked off they're too blinded by anger to realize you get in at dawn. But hearing that tone in your voice, we're used to after you trained us." he said and Charlie started laughing.
"Yeah no kidding, not just coach, but uncle, I practically raised you myself when Gordon's not here cub." he said and Averman nodded smiling as he and Charlie exchanged smiles. "Been a month and in that time, he's come close to calling you dad, like 30 times at the time now. And now the bomb gets dropped and it turns out you are his father, I never seen him this happy. First to find out, and we're the ones that know you best and after meeting Karen in truth."
"And with her, Aunt Kim." he said and and Orion nodded as he said it gently then to that to him. "I already had that talk with your brother, before the Halls and I explained this to them and Fulton, you already had said conversation with me in all truth now and even better. Said is I got you out of said entrapment, so come on." he said and Averman nodded in relief then as he moved to Charlie's side and the quintet all paled, realizing the parents of their friends knew.
"Said exchange, with girls on this team, is I want Fulton on protection duty." Duncan's wife said and froze as they both looked at their daughters then. "So this thought was never considered here and whatever the guys said, I'm repeating it now here. But Fulton should be protecting the girls, till we get him a counterpart enforcer here now. And Banks can help the boys with the scoring, that the conclusion, Ted?" Andrew Reed asked and he nodded and they nodded sternly.
"Where do you idiots think we'd been since you saw us talking to his father, guys, huh, before Fulton joined the team, Charlie spoke to me last night. Saying he was going to make contact with his father, but looks like he never needed to if he came to him. But we asked this question, directly after the tie game, and he gave Bombay's reasoning." he said and the sextet all paled. "Sorry buddy, but you read it right, blackmail." Averman said and Charlie patted his shoulder.
"They called us a traitor, while never once considering their safety, dad, if Guy's in love with her, shouldn't it be his job to be protecting her?" Fulton said and Guy jerked at the jab then, realizing his refusal had been made and never considered in Connie's protection while doing it. "Or be his job to be protecting his own sister, or is this just about their pride here. We can make do, even risk the safety of the girls, to get into the playoffs." Averman asked and their parents nodded.
As Tommy also flinched, realizing their jabs were meant to sting as their parents nodded sternly as his gripped his shoulder warningly then. "Just so you know, the Banks's are dealing with emotional problems, namely his sister is sick and they're raising money. But the one they're currently doing bankrupted them and they moved to our district. Are you saying baby is not important, the girls safety is not important?" Charlie asked and they all went white at that news.
"Excuse me, she's sick, that's why he's even on the team?!" Averman said in shock at that remark and he nodded sternly. "Alright I had enough of this, Charlie, did you…." he asked and Charlie nodded. "Yeah, we're free to go, brother, we're free to go, he got us out of it, and Porter and Daniels dropped by the diner." he said and Averman nodded smiling in relief. "So not bad, just misunderstood, he's not a Soc, just having to present it, to hide his pain, over his sister."
"Adam's sister's sick, pneumonia or cancer?" Averman asked and he said it. "Leukemia, they're doing fundraisers to get enough to pay for the treatments." Charlie told him and he nodded. "Uh huh, yeah dead duck walking, my apartment or her life, I choose her life." he said and Charlie and Fulton nodded. "Dad?" the quartet said together and they all nodded in agreement. "Charlie, the schedule's in place for us, we extend it to the rest of the team right now and secondly."
"Are things getting worse right now over that?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "Uncle Hank dropped in and told us we lost another one, we got to get this off the street and safely indoors. In confirming we needed him he came to see me and activated it fully, he's our back up, before full in 4 years now, he and Bombay just arranged it." he said and Averman smiled in delight. "As for McGill and Larson, what if these idiots get too rough with the girls right now in truth."
"Is their safety not important, are they willing to keep it like this, to keep him off the team to make it to the playoffs?" he said and the trio all went white at that. "Agreed are they willing to put themselves in the emergency room to make it to the playoffs now. Is Adam's sister's life not important, are my feelings not important, when you all know here. That up until now, I never had a father, and the closest I could come to it is Bombay, before we found my father here."
"Is that what they're saying right now?" he asked and Fulton crossed his arms then as they tried to backpedal shaking in fear at the implication. "You grew up without a father, the rest of these coaches are losers and the best we can come to are Uncle Ted and the Coach. Are they saying this to destroy you, because if we never knew this till four years in right now. Then we see a completely different you till Bombay talked some sense into you!" Jesse said in shock and fury.
"No, no, oh god, no we're not letting them destroy you, are you guys crazy, what is the matter with you!" Averman said in anger at this. "Wait, that's not what we said!" Goldberg said quickly and Fulton and Averman crossed their arms. "Oh no, then why why call us traitors, it's you're saying 'to heck with the girls safety and our parents opinion. We will do as we darn well please here.'." Fulton said sternly to that and they realized there was no taking the words back then.
