The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined I: The Mighty Ducks
Warnings: With this story and trilogy it's going to have Orion running things in the team, though Gordon is head coach at the current moment right now. As he leaves Orion in charge of the team till he gets back, before the Goodwilk Games. And then their time at the academy as the team is completely under his control, while the academy is going to be a facade till the showdown, starting now here.
With this chapter, the decision to remove Karp and Peter from the team is considered. As his opinion over their calling him and Fulton a traitor is shot down. And as Charlie makes it clear in his opinion, before Adam comes into the picture next. This is going to be a re-imagining of the Mighty Ducks trilogy as Charlie meets Orion at the age of 10, as their lives are fused together.
As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth. And this soon, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team. This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story.

Chapter 4: Team Meetings and Unexpected Decisions III
"Banks has a lot of potential, but tradition be damned right now Jack, he still has his innocence, and I intend to make sure. Now that boy lives up to his true potential, without him turning into the kid on that episode. And that put an opposing team member in the hospital right now, as he stays under you. This road is leading right to prison, then right to the top, so it's me in your way."
"That it's once again going to be me that puts you back in second place, but we win that championship, and we go on to bigger and better things." he said with a growl at him. "Ted's retired from NHL, he made contact with me, but he said it directly, I ever need him to take over, he's going to do it right now, Reilly. But you never knew the brotherly bonds between us and he hates you for that."
"We make it to the championship, that pep talk is in a real coach mode between me and Conway, if one of your guys trips him or whatever. But we're free of you, being hawks, as we either got even better coaches training us. Or we just use what you taught us against you now, but what I guarantee right now here. Is that starting now your team now has it's new rival and carrying two of us."
"Us being the Hawks of 1973, only now we're adults and we're using what you taught these guys against you, like the books now starting now. And I tell him what I know on this, then Ted and I know he's going to see it. In the same way, Ted and me, a duo, us against the entire world once again. Well this time it's us against you, he'd take the coaching job, if I asked him too right now, Jack."
"As he's hated you ever since the 1973 championship game, so me or him, we're in your way starting now." he said and they heard a shocked tone then as Reilly said it then. "You remember Ted, as in Ted Orion, or to you Teddy Orion, but we're not kids anymore here right now in truth. Conway is like Ted, and Banks is me, before you destroyed me, well time to fix a repeater right in truth here."
"In your words, he's just as good as I was, but that skill is the same as martial arts, you're as bad as the man playing Kreese. Guess it never occured to you that once the district lines get changed, we're free of you. I see it clearly now, that you are an emotionally abusive coach. But I see it, that Banks has a lot of potential, but to prevent what you did to me, I'm getting him away from you."
"Before you destroy his love for the sport and he turns into what I become, before I met Conway and his friends now, my time table is close, but I'm back." he said with a stern growl to him. "Why you turn against me Gordon, for 3 years, I taught you how to skate, I taught you how to score. And I taught you how to go for the W, you could have been one of the greats, and now look at yourself."
"You're not even a has been, you're a never was." they heard and Orion nodded as Charlie turned it off. "Peter just what the heck is the matter with you, why didn't you stick around to hear the entire conversation right now. As this says it all, he's hiding his pain at his sister's condition by being a hotshot right now." Connie said sternly and the quartet nodded in stern agreement to that thought as they exchanged looks.
As Charlie shut his eyes as he remembered his arrogant attitude, as he now saw the clear pain in his eyes then. "He's trying to hide the pain of his sister's condition that's why he's acting like this." Guy said and looked at Averman, Goldberg Terry and Jesse and they nodded. "We have to help them, sure we don't have much, but we can offer what we do have." Averman said to them and Charlie nodded in agreement as he answered him then.
"Hang on a second." Jesse said as he went to his little safe and checked then and nodded. "I saved up $150.00 in 6 months right now." he said and they nodded gently as they each checked their own then. "Together is $400.00." Charlie said and they nodded gently. "Guys we need to call for an extension right now in truth, 90 days extension, and combine this month's and next into March's check, after the season is over now."
"We're on over time, but the easiest choice we could ever make right now." Monroe said and the adult gang nodded in agreement. "That little girl is worth it right now, her life or our apartments, it's the easiest choice we can ever make. But the possibility of moving and finding a new apartment is a small price to pay here. For the life of a baby with her whole life to live now." Tremaine said and Hall nodded as Goldberg's father nodded then.
"We're doing this to help him, but our way of saying friendship now, in inviting him to join the team and welcoming him fully right now. We help him them raise the rest of it, so period of determination, but were it not for those idiots. We very well could have a bigger problem right now, to be determined, he proves he's duck. By sticking up for one of us if those idiots start a fight, he proved it, he earned it." Jesse said and they nodded then.
"Yeah on a TBD here right now and we help him raise the money as he faces his ex team mates as we wait to see what he does. But these idiots, by that I mean Karp and Peter, if they bail on us after we completely initiated Adam into the team. Though I know your father has a business trip in Chicago next summer, we got time. As we fill in the gaps and start anew later, as he's fully recovered emotionally." he said and the team nodded then.
"Agreed, we should help him raise the money, what's left we can offer to help raise it right now, and it takes less time then the Hawks are taking." Connie said and the quartet nodded in agreement. "Our way of saying welcome to the team, by being there for him when he needs us now." Tammy said in agreement to her thoughts. "By helping him raise the money, I say we do it." Tommy said and Goldberg nodded in agreement to that.
"We all in agreement on this, TBD and we help them raise the money in a duck way right now, I mean that Whoopi's idea of helping to raise the money. And by changing things helped, well if we help out, there are several ways we can right now?" Charlie asked and they nodded. "Yeah and this says it all the game was Saturday night, it's Monday and you get the truth to us, before the real damage is done." Connie said to him gently then.
"I know, but the one that did the correct thing was Charlie here." Orion said to her and she nodded. "Charlie cracked one rumor and now he gets the second in why you retired, and why did you right now, if you said you had a daughter?" Guy asked as he looked into his eyes then gently. "Chance to watch my baby daughter grow up, I retired last year, before she reached this age now, but she's going 5 now, any soldier constantly now."
"On missions misses a lot in their kids childhood, that's the bad side effect of being a soldier or just a any sport player in the pros, moving around alot. But learning I found your brother at this age now and where you start forgetting your parents faces. That and voices, so I stopped, last year, but learning now, that I found your brother. And you with him, at this age, I never made an easier choice." he said and the sextet smiled gently.
"So good hours, good payroll, you're home everyday after work, yeah I get the idea right now, but I know I'm going to regret asking this, but why'd you quit last year right now?" She asked and he explained it to her. "Your sister actually baby, in truth, but she was injured last year, we were coming back from a movie one night. I was driving and we got side swiped, I didn't want to disrupt her recovery, her doctor and all her friends."
"They're all here, so with the guys switching home towns next, I'm staying, but just learning I found your brother again right now. I couldn't make a better choice right now, as I get to see you guys grow up finally, with you possibly switching coaches. In 4 years and I go from assistant to real in your case, I practically raised you myself now." he said and they looked down, realizing he was making his claim on them this early now.
"One serious side effect of switching coaches leads to difference of opinion, and getting frustrated with the new coach right now. But that's switching and you just meet the new coach now and it's the very same beginning right now. But knowing your coach for years, they knew you all your life and in one case are the parent. And of a member of the team, that's when you got an easier standpoint, but your new coach raised you themselves."
"But when the head coach is out of town, we can handle this, we can deal, we got each other, we got them, we'll be fine." Averman said and Charlie nodded as they looked at Orion and felt their bonds to him start growing. "Yeah we can handle this, we got each other, we got him and we'll be okay, so sure, new school, new teacher. New friends, but in the end nothing ever changes, same old us." Connie said and Charlie nodded then.
"After 4 years of you acting as our assistant coach and training us in the off season dad, we're used to your take on training right now. As for the new members added to the team, they're getting the truth early of why you retired now. As I explain this to them right now, after 4 years together, and we got another 5 left at the current moment. Before we start college, it goes fast, but we got a long way to go, but we got you still."
"We can do this easily, so sure new school, new teachers, new friends right now, but still us, and we got you, nothing's changed, same old us, so though he's gone. Nothing's really changed, he maybe busy with whatever job offers he has. But nothing's changed as you take over and we got you all our time at the academy. So sure new school, new teachers, new friends, but we got you still right now, so same old us right now."
"We're okay." Charlie said and Orion nodded. "That was the keypoint we needed you to realize, sure he's busy with something else. But you still got me as as this goes from the peewees, to middle to high school age hockey. You're getting better every year, as you show how good you really are, but these brats I'm dealing with. It's a really good thing I'm not their coach anymore as by then they've been passed to Wilson by then finally."
"And you start school and I become your new coach, that 2.5 is enough here right now that these guys start with the hazing I'm not taking it well. Especially if they push you into something, before the showdown and when I said to stay clear of these idiots. As to me now in truth is as mess with you, and I practically raised you guys myself now. So to me whatever they pushed you into, before I walk in on you is enough to get in trouble."
"That they're in big trouble, but they're adults and you're still kids here now in truth, but you I practically raised myself in the years leading up to the scholarships. That it's not you I'm irritated with right now, Riley should have the common sense to know better. But no, he doesn't and he doesn't realize you pushed him into losing his temper. And enough to throw the first punch till I arrest him right now." he said and the sextet nodded then.
"I'm a father with two real cubs and 16 to 18 surrogate ones, I raised you guys myself with him either doing a try out with the minors or gets chosen for something. I know you better then anyone that I can manage, but you're my team now. As you get older, but these board members revoke your scholarships, I'm calling in Gordon." he said and Charlie smiled as their parents exchanged stern smiles as he said it gently at that.
As he ran his hand through the hair at the back of Charlie's head and he smiled as he leaned his head against his upper chest and shoulder and Orion smiled. 'Yeah Ted took being a father with his son to the extreme right now, lost 10 years. But gets the rest and 40 more years back finally, but that's father with his 10 year old son now. And I never see Charlie so happy now, yeah this was worth it.' Hall thought, smiling at that gently.
"And when we're constantly quoting you right now, that's not mocking you, but we're quoting what we hear from you all the time as we grow up. This is not making fun of you, but showing our love and respect for you." Averman said to that and Goldberg, Connie and Guy exchanged looks as Charlie nudged Fulton in the shoulder and they nodded. "And like any favorite commanding officer or just Luke with Ben right now in truth."
"Is we love you, love, admire, respect and we can't remember the last coach, prior to both of you, we ever felt that for right now. So who are they kidding right now, after said facade snaps as we just beat the latest version of the varsity. And for the first time in 5 years, that we drop the bomb, all of the last sum weeks was a facade. As Adam drops the bomb, he was a duck plant on the Varsity, my change in attitude is the same: a facade."
"As Uncle Hank reveals we know whoever it was responsible for the damage in our locker room, but the 6 of you, our new sum number. The bomb gets dropped, Adam is a plant on their team, my acting out is a facade, till they try to kick us out. And we reveal all of this was part of your psyche training in us dad." Charlie said and Monroe started laughing and Orion nodded smiling as the sextet exchanged a fast fist pump at that remark.
"Yeah they're never going to see that coming right now in truth, as this all back and forth was all a trap till they lose their tempers enough to throw the first punch. But do that they blew the mental face off between you guys right now. And I'd been training you for 4 years between seasons, leading into when I take the leap up. And from assistant to your real coach, after the 8th grade gets switched into you finishing the next 5 years."
"Under me right now, but you're right, they walk out that door, or just refuse to come for whatever we get chosen for here. And they're not coming back, as I'm not taking any crap from these two, but you get transferred Jason. And you got to move, the door is open and you guys and the Duncans are welcome to return. When you get back now, so you know I took over and you're being welcomed back with open arms now here."
"But that season, between the first three games and said showdown is all a facade between me and your brother." Orion said and the quintet nodded, knowing if the Halls got transferred thet left it to them. And Charlie and whoever else joined them and Charlie nodded gently. "Got it Coach, but we're just going to hide the level of experience we got under you till the showdown here." Averman said and he nodded, smiling then gently.
"The 4 of us, if my family gets transferred in the weeks before we start the semester, just hold on to our scholarships and right after we get back, we start school. And the Duncans with us, but if the duo bail on us, that's going to be a one way door right now. They leave and they're not coming back, we're not taking any beef with these idiots right now." Jesse said and Charlie and Fulton nodded in stern agreement to that as she said it then.
"Just wait for the reaction, that they're in shock, you chose to come back and with the team there at the academy, long way around, but home to stay now." Connie said to Charlie and he nodded. "Yeah sure new school, new teacher, new friends, but same old us, nothing's changed and nothing ever would for us now. We got each other, we got dad, we'll be fine, but to Peter now, 'you're going back." he said and Fulton said it then gently.
"Start back in the beginning, Fulton." Charlie said to him and he nodded. "The way I see it is we can do public school for a few years, after that we can head for Canada. The age level is 16 to keep playing up there." he said pretending to Peter and Fulton said it in shock. "I don't think I'm good enough for that." he said and Charlie said it gently. "With your shot, come on." he said and Fulton hid a sigh at that remark as he answered him.
'Come on man, I'm not sure I want to stay separated from the team, and I'm not sure I want to keep playing if it's going to be this stressful. As we grow in experience, the more we play in the school system the less I want to stay on this path." he thought as he answered him. "I'm saying, I'm not sure I want to keep playing hockey for the rest of my life." he said and he saw his heart sinking then. "Sorry." he said as he said it to him.
"You're going back?!" he said in shock then. "We can deal, man, the ducks are there." he said and he said it then. "Alright fine, just get out of here, I don't care, I don't need you, go!" he said sternly and the team nodded as they ended it at that. "With us this is being faked, with them, if they take off on us, it's real, as everything from our first practice. To the showdown between us and Varsity is all a facade right now, to these idiots now."
"They're going to be in shock that Fulton and I are actually faking this as we return and then the other bomb gets dropped if they try to expel us and you tell the dean you know. The team stuck it out together, but us as teenagers and even our own parents have a firm degree of patience, but these idiots don't get it. That all of the next 2.5 months is all a facade, before we nail Varsity to the wall." he said and Orion smiled then sternly then.
"Being around me for 4 years, this says it all right now in truth at the moment, that by the time you start high school. You guys have been around me for so long, you know I'm faking it once I remove the captain position for a bit. But even without it, you can lead the team in the right direction, before the facade snaps and we drop the bomb. All of this was a case of mental games and we had them from the second whatever happens."
"But even your own acting is so good it's next to impossible to tell the difference as you're watching me with your sister in a few years. That you know the truth and you always knew that sure your godfather is going to be on call, but don't want to let go. You miss your godfather and you suffer a change in personality, before he changes you back. And then they try to revoke the scholarships, come on enough already right now."
"What's next exactly, Hans is trying to talk some sense into you, your mother and even your brother till your godfather does it and that's it. But by then, it's you're possibly involved with one of the girls your age and this leads to her. And these guys are so ticked after you had them lose their focus enough to throw the first punch. They're scared now, and this was a case of throwing the practice match." he said and Charlie nodded gently.
"And Conway hates hockey, but being a hockey player, it's in my blood, I think the reason that the duo are always on my case, that's Karp and Peter. And it's because they're jealous, jealous that I'm the best player on the team, and my total equal is Adam. Jealous I don't have to show off to the coach to get him to like me right now, and in the case of dad, I know him far better then they do right now in truth to know this."
"In fact I earned that position by being everything my father wanted me to be right now, and looking into this immediately. As I had my doubts, but question, just why would he call us traitors right now, Fulton stepped forward and then I did and what happens?" he asked and they covered their eyes. "We started following you, this was to marginalize you, because we're following you the alpha." Averman said and he nodded sternly then.
"Exactly, the first to prove he gained my trust was directly after the second game this season, with him as our new coach. Before we gain our new name and start training and soon after 2 weeks, we became so good here that everyone is in shock. But Peter is jealous, jealous that I'm better then he is, jealous that you're listening to me. And more then jealous now, right now, that I got a father/son relationship with the coach."
"But in truth, is I'm this close to dad's best friend." he said to them and they nodded gently. "The coach is borderline godfather in my eyes, but this was why we're like this together, before I found my father and I got dad all my life. So though Coach is busy with something or another we got dad still and we change and grow up. But that sting operation, is going to be a case of we're getting Jared's team a little too over confident."
"Till we got them where we want them." Charlie said and the quintet nodded gently then. "Best friend, the coach is your father's best friend, now I never saw that coming right now, but only our parents knew the truth, possibly. That she was pregnant with you, when 'the letter' happened." Guy said softly and their parents nodded to confirm that. "The 6 of us did, but then why not, we're Casey's friends and gang baby, in truth now."
"This was why the 7 of you guys were raised together from birth, the 6 of us are the best of friends, she told us everything, but she never wanted Ted to give up his shot. Into the North Stars, but this was a very touchy subject, learning she was pregnant. Now, works in reversing the damage, but two families now in truth at the moment. But we loved Ted like a brother, we'd have been happy, if she married him, but to us right now."
"The truth coming out, is a real relief now." Anna Hall said gently and he nodded then. "Lost 10 years, but get the rest back as he grows up, I never wanted anymore right now in truth, but meeting you guys at your current age. This is worth it right now, as I see you guys graduate from high school, your brother from." Orion said in response and they smiled softly as he looked between them, realizing they had him all their lives now.
"Gordon maybe busy with one thing or another right now, but you got me full time leading into middle and high school now, guys." he said gently and they nodded. "This is going to be a long 9 years together." Averman said and he smiled. "And keep it up in getting smart with me buster and I will." he said and Charlie covered his eyes. "Coach already let me have it the other night, but start getting smart with you, I'm busted."
"But papa bear, get smart with papa bear, you're busted here right now." he said and the team nodded smiling as their parents chuckled. "Not cub, duckling." Jesse said and he nodded. "Cub" "Duckling" "Cub" "Duckling" "Cub" "Duckling." "We're not arguing about this all day, so both, now enough already." Connie said as she looked between them and their parents started laughing. "Nice way to head off a bickering match." Hall said with a chuckle to that.
"He started it." Charlie said and Connie covered her eyes then. "To repeat that, we're not doing this all day, that's enough of that already." she said again and before he could open his mouth, she smacked him in the head with the pillow. "And again that's enough of that already and young lady watch where you aim that pillow. I get smacked and you are going to get it right now, and keep it up and you're both going to get it so enough now."
"And don't press your luck." Orion said smiling and Charlie nodded as he leaned against his father. 'Yeah there we go, though Gordon may leave he'll be fine.' Orion thought as he leaned his head against his upper shoulder and Orion smiled. 'My 10 year old son, though 10, the 8 to 9 year old cub is showing in him again now with me. We get a perfect family christmas this year next winter and he and his sister have each other now finally now.'
'I got my team, I get to watch these guys grow up, this is great.' he thought smiling as he looked between them gently. "Yeah well we been together so long, which explains the surrogate family titles here. But though we didn't know till tonight, that he and your mother were together. Somethings never change no matter how old we get." Connie said smiling and Averman nodded with a playful smile to him then gently as he said it then.
"Love you too, Uncle Ted." he said, using the new title now for the first time and he chuckled then as the quintet's parents smiled gently then. 'New coach, but not new at all, he knew us all our lives, we have him with us when Coach was out of town. Or busy with with being a lawyer, we knew his training strategies, we knew what he was like. When he lost his temper, but this will work as we get older.' Connie thought with a gentle smile.
"We're the first of the team to know this, we keep adding to the team, the ending results are everyone on the team knows that our current coach is your father's best friend." Goldberg said quickly and he nodded. "Case of double meanings here and..., oh for gods sakes, you're Hebrew of course you'd say that to the coach right now. Don't ask, but getting him over his fear of being hit by the puck." Charlie said and they nodded then.
"I can guess, but that happens when said goalie has a fear of getting hit by the puck." Hall said with a bemused smile and the team started laughing. "Your father had that same problem himself, Greg." Orion said to him and he nodded, smiling. "Yeah you got it right, my name is Gregory, but they just call my by my surname." he said and Orion nodded gently at that remark as she thought it over then and then nodded in fury.
"Well you guys are actually what your parents looked like as kids in truth, your father had that very same problem, while Jason got territorial with the team. And didn't like changes, but after getting the reason why, he was the one the others basically followed. In truth your parents were my best friends in high school and college, like us you gained that same love for sport, but their dreams of going all the way, changed now."
"After Casey and I took a step back and they settled for what they're doing now." he said and they nodded gently as Anna hugged him tightly and he smiled. "Well currently I own my own butcher shop right now, Jason is working for the executive's office. He's accountant right now, and Jack, Eric and Jim are all working for the same company. We're up at the at the department store, but working double shifts here in truth now."
"But the loan from the firm right now helps, now that money should be used to help others in need, as we help the sister of a future member or the team." Chef Joseph Goldberg said and he nodded in agreement to that. "These guys are idiots if they never saw the real pain in his eyes, his sister is possibly in the early stages. We get enough and she's going to be okay, our way of offering a hand in friendship by doing this for him."
"But our way of saying welcome to the team and he's our friend and a brother now." Tammy said and the 10 nodded in agreement to her thoughts. "Well it gets better, but telling dad what you said through that mutiny, was enough to completely tick him off. And mom with him and I know the Reeds are thinking the same here, as the coach is doing decisions based on our parents opinions here so with that in mind here."
"Guys we need to talk right now, but Coach had a very good reason for that decision, but the other teams are all-all boy teams, we're co-ed. So coach had a good point, Fulton is the strongest of the team, without him protecting you girls. You get hit hard enough, you're going to end up in the hospital right now in truth. Adam is our only chance of knowing how good his team really is and finally now." Charlie said and she nodded then.
"Is this was saying he was free of him right now forever, as once again it's going to be him, them, that put Reilly back in second place for the second time 19 years. But our parents are all 30 years old, that game was when they were 11 years old here. So use his knowledge of Reilly's coaching tactics against him, as with the duo. Adam goes right to the top, stay with Reilly, he ends up in prison, Anderson's episode on hockey."
"That's where his staying on the Hawks is going to lead now." he said and the 10 nodded quickly in shock. "That's everything Peter never wanted us to know, you were preparing to create our future for us, the academy was the aim?" Connie said, feeling her heart start breaking at how she reacted, without asking questions. "Dad, what would your reasoning be if you added Adam to the team?" Averman asked and he said it then.
"With 2 girls on the team we think Fulton should focus more on protecting you girls while the rest of you are focusing more on scoring." he said and they nodded. "Dad?" Connie asked and he nodded as Tammy looked at her father and he nodded. "Guys, you realize what you basically told our parents by that decision to mutiny. My father is our new coach in later years?" he said and they all paled and Jesse covered his eyes then in disbelief.
"And what the heck are we supposed to think here, just what was said to even drag up that line as you're 10 years old, so watch your language?" Orion said sternly and they all nodded quickly as Hall said it sternly. "Jesse Richard?" he said warningly and he flinched. "What was said here right now, was after a telling off after our first game." Charlie said and he nodded sternly at that remark. "And..." Hall's wife asked sternly and he sighed.
"H..." he said and they nodded. "He shot it back at him and this was a result after a case of them beating the you know out of us. And forgetting the 4 of you and mom are in the stands listening to this, he never considered you or mom arrives at our box. And you're grounding him for a week here, but coach's still an adult and you're. Now all borderline 32 years old, dad." Charlie said and he nodded as he looked between them at that.
"Your mother always kept it straight on the phone when she knew you were in hearing range of the conversation, or we knew your brothers and sister were." Monroe said to him and he nodded. "And are there any other choice phrases you want to teach my 5 year old sister here?" Charlie said in response and Jesse covered his eyes at that. "These kids younger then 6 are picking up everything we're saying here, so watch it already."
"Before she hears this and repeats it in front of her classmates." Charlie said and they nodded quickly. "Wait till Willams's daughter says that to her mother and she repeats that to him, 'Thank you, are there any other choice phrases you want to teach our 5 year old here?'." Monroe said in annoyance and Orion nodded sternly. "And with keeping the language straight is a big problem, but little pitchers here now guys, come on here."
"Getting better everyday, but you I get you frustrated right now, but that's no excuse for actually talking back to Gordon like this. I don't know where you pick this language up from, but what I will say is you just watch your language right now with us." Hall said sternly and Orion nodded. "And especially when we got younger then 10 listening to this conversation, and I get you basically were frustrated at the time and I know he was."
"I know he was irritated at you guys, but that's no excuse for you to start with the profanity, you're 10 years old, just where are you guys getting this talk from. And don't say it's us, we try to keep it censored when we know we got you listening." Orion asked and they all quickly said it at that. "It's Peter dad." they all said together as he said it.
