-Chapter 30: The Proposition-
The marked man had spent quite a few sleepless nights, drawing and sketching a multitude of new and innovative weaponry, to the people of these Walls at least. To him, he was simply recreating the designs and works from a bygone world and lifetime, whose technological advancements were quite similar to those he found here.
Despite the growing desire to rest and return to the realm of dreams he knew he had to complete these designs, for it was all to provide the people with the tools to fight back against their giant foes. It would also serve to honor the legacy of those who had near perished, or actually perished, in their efforts to create them. He was certain they would be proud to see their works continue to give the enemies of mankind a good thrashing.
By the fifth night he had completed his works, presenting them to the commander in private, who was left in awe. Following this the next step of their plan was to inform the higher ups of their proposition. Erwin had sent multiple letters to every high ranking commander from every military branch, the commander-in-chief included, informing them of their desire to meet in person and present what they had to offer.
Another letter had been sent to the highest authority of the Walls, the king himself. For the presence of a member of the high echelons was required for this to work, less they be seen as conspiring with the military against the crown.
To their luck responses came back to them, the kings' included. While the king couldn't personally make it to the gathering, he would send an envoy as a representative, exactly what they hoped. With that settled the two men prepared themselves to show what Maverick had to offer to the world.
-oOo-
Ehrmich District, South of Wall Sina
Maverick and Erwin were walking through the halls of the military offices, which they had walked not too long ago. With the many scroll holders and stand in both hands Maverick calmly looked at the halls, eyeing the portraits of past military officials and overall architecture. All the while Erwin kept his eyes forward, a serious case of butterflies in the stomach
"You good?" Maverick asked, noticing the commander's state.
"Nervous to be completely honest. Barely could finish my breakfast." He replied, unconsciously rubbing his slightly sweaty palms together. "Part of me still can't believe were actually going through with this."
He suddenly felt a few pats to his shoulder, causing him to turn and look up to his comrade, who spoke in a reassuring, almost fatherly, tone to the commander.
"Relax, It'll all work out."
The confidence radiating from him had an almost instant effect, as Erwin took a few breaths before composing himself, the odd feeling in his stomach slowly but surely dissipating. Just in time too, as the two MP's standing guard announced their presences before opening the double doors.
The moment the doors opened the two scouts were met with the familiars faces of the Commander-in-Chief, the high commander of the Military Police, the Garrison commanders of each district across every wall, and the head instructors of the Training Corps.
And last, but most certainly not least, was a new face seated next to Zachary, who immediately set his sights to the marked man, and vice versa. Like many of the military personnel he was dressed in an olive green dress coat adorned with a bolo tie with a ruby gemstone. What peaked Maverick's interest was the coat of arms stitched to the man's left coat pocket, which displayed no emblem of any of the four regiments. A sign of his allegiance to the upper echelons no doubt.
Time seemed to slow down as the two men kept their eyes on one another, Maverick displaying a neutral and studious expression, while the assemblyman tried to emulate his look, but faltered at the sight of the larger man's glowing blue eyes. It was as if they were peering into his soul.
Scrutinizing him…
Judging him…
"And the men of the hour arrive." Zachary spoke, eyeing the two scouts standing before everyone, more specifically at Maverick, and whatever items he was currently holding in his arms. Erwin gave the usual salute, while Maverick gave a slight bow to the commanders.
"I have to say, didn't expect to see all of us gathered once again so soon." Remarked one of the district commanders, taking note of the near filled room. It had been nearly a month since they last assembled, surprising they managed to fit this in all their tight schedules.
"Even managing to bring in our esteemed assemblyman Gerald as well." Pixis added turning to said individual. At the mention of his name the man snapped out of whatever funk he was in, and tried to present a confident air about him.
"His majesty saw fit to send me to represent." He returned his sights to the large man. "Also gives me the chance to finally see our greatest soldier in the flesh."
"Must say the drawings and reports don't give you justice." The smile on his face was a hollow one, that much Maverick could tell. He had seen such looks many times before. He was more than certain that the man was spooked out of his boots by him, probably didn't expect to ever be in the same room.
"Let us save the flatteries for another time." The Premier said, getting everyone's attention. "As your letter said, you wished to share something of great value to us?"
"Indeed Sir." Maverick spoke, a firm tone in his voice. "What I wish to disclose with you all will no doubt be beneficial to our fight against the giants."
He hadn't even began, yet already he had left the gathered commanders intrigued, though the assemblyman held a more skeptical look.
"Even more so than your gifts?"
"Well, perhaps not by such heights. But it will give our fighting men and women a bit more…punch, in their efforts to fighting giants."
"Punch, you say?" The western garrison commander repeated, grooming his beard. His interest very much peaked.
"Allow me to go into a bit of detail…" With that he began to set up the tripod stand with Erwin assisting in holding all the large tube shaped holders.
"As your all aware, I've lived through countless lifetimes. One such life was in a land known as the Old World." Like so many times before he had everyone listening to his every word, even the commander, who had heard his tales of that accursed world many times before.
"A world where humanity was set upon by many dangers and threats, both inside and out." Some of the commanders held surprised looks, Gerald especially, likely at the mention of interior threats.
"I made a name for myself in the nation known as the Empire of Man. Where in thanks for my services after eradicating a problematic cult, I was rewarded this…" The commanders didn't get much time to process the fantastical and odd idea of an empire of man, as Maverick took out a large rolled up paper from its leather holder, and laid it out for everyone to see its contents.
"Well now…"
"Oh-Ho!"
"What in the Walls…."
Drawn on the large paper was a multitude of sketches of a very unique looking firearm from varying views and angles. It resembled their flintlock pistols often used by the MP's and certain officials, though the main difference was the multitude of barrels attached, eight in total.
"Gentlemen, allow me to present Von Meinkopt's Micro-Mainspring of Multitudinous Precipitation of Pernicious Lead!"
Everyone stood silent after hearing the utterly bizarre name for the weapon, some even trying to word out the creator's name a few times.
"Also known as the Repeater Pistol." He said, getting many understanding looks in response.
"This weapon served me well throughout my many bouts and skirmishes with many of humanity's enemies." He pointed to the weapons' barrels and mechanisms as he continued. "As the name suggests, it allows the user to fire multiple rounds into a target or targets, utilizing state of the art revolving technology."
"While you could usually rotate the barrels manually yourself, the hammer mechanism here would serve that duty. You could also spin the barrels, press down the lock, and unload all six shots at a rapid speed."
The commanders were absolutely enthralled and fascinated by the inner workings of this firearm. For they had never seen, nor could have conceived of such mechanics. Gerald meanwhile, sat motionless as his eyes focused entirely on the drawing, as he could swear he had seen something similar before.
"Helps when you need to clear a path through a horde of ratmen, or some unruly rioters shall we say." Maverick head turned to Nile and the rest of the MP officials, clearly surprised to see him speaking to them directly. Only to give him questioning looks again.
For what in the Walls were ratmen? And should they be concerned?
"An interesting piece….what are the downsides?" Gerald spoke causing all eyes to turn to him. For indeed a weapon sounded too good to be true.
"Reload times were an utter pain." Maverick emphasized. He received looks of understanding from the MP's gathered, for only they could sympathize with the stressful problems of having to reload at the most unfortunate times.
"Anywho, with such a powerful and honestly complicated weapon I wanted to learn more about it, mostly how to repair and maintain it."
"Thats when a friend suggested I take a trip to the Imperial Engineers School and learn from the master engineers themselves." He had somehow managed to surprise the gathering once again with his tale. The garrison themselves had many specialized engineering squads stationed around the districts, as well as their own schools, but there was something more grandiose to hear of the existence of an "imperial" school.
"For how long you resided in this institution?" The assemblyman inquired, leaning in his seat.
"Four years." Gerald's surprised look amused the large man as he elaborated. "Originally was just gonna be there for a semester, but you know…making weapons is a bit of a hobby of mine." A low chuckle escaped his lips before he cleared his throat.
"Throughout my stay I was shown many of the war machines developed for the Empire, including the reaper pistols' big brother." He motioned for Erwin to give him another scroll holder, unveiling and presenting another series of drawings. As he said this was a much bigger version of the repeater, with an added stock and a set of six barrels.
"Von Meinkopt's Whirling Cavalcade of Death." He announced, to the bemused silence of the commanders once more.
"The Repeater Handgun." A few deflated looks and scoffs filled the room.
"This Mine-Kop seems to enjoy his ludicrous names." Nile remarked, wondering if this illusive firearms creator was a few screws loose. A response came from Maverick's chuckling face.
"He and most of the engineers I met were quite eccentric." He amused, but his voice turned to a more respectful tone as he remembered the faces of his human and dwarven teachers.
"But they were some of the brightest and forward thinking minds of their time, true pioneers who I had the pleasure and honor to be taught under." Some, specifically the MP's, looked surprised to hear him show praise to his fellow man, while some of the more elder members gathered held pleased looks.
"Meinkopt himself was said to have been inspired to create these multi-barreled firearms after watching a group of students from the Gunnery School reloading their arms. He figured more barrels, equals more shots, more shots, equals more lethality." Many nodded their heads, fully agreeing with the late engineers' mentality.
"Which brought the creation of this marvel…" Given another scroll he presented his third weapon design causing some wide eyed reactions. Like the two others it was another multi-barreled contraption, though far bigger, sleek, and modernized. Its armaments consisted of nine barrels arranged in a triangular shape, with a set of wheels like their old cannons. Some back and side view drawings showed an odd mechanism similar to the hammer locks shown with the repeaters and a crank built near the bottom of the machine.
"Presenting the Helblaster Volley Gun!" His booming voice roused everyone as he continued to speak, advertising the weapons features.
"Armed with a whopping nine barrels, divided into three decks, all controlled by this simple crank, this piece was capable of turning entire regiments to paste! From the most heavily armored marauders to the most thick-skinned beasts!"
A weapon capable of such mayhem was something that alarmed the assemblyman, though he tried his best to hide his concern. While the commanders looked in awe as Maverick set his eyes to Pixis and the other district commanders.
"An ideal weapon for the men and women of the Garrison, wouldn't you say?" The elder commander's moustache curved in response, showing he was more than in agreement, a sentiment shared by the others.
"How effective was this volley gun?" Gerald asked, trying to read the writings on the large paper.
"Saw three of these babies bring down a Bonegrinder." Maverick responded, holding up three of his fingers to all.
"B-Bonegrinder?" The noble repeated, his timidness showing in his voice for but a moment before he recouped himself..
"The giants of the Old World came in many varieties, a Bonegrinder being not only one of the rarest of their kind, but the largest as well." The commanders looked quite impressed, taking his claims to heart, all of course the noble who remained impassive, or at least attempted to be.
"Fascinating tales, but I personally still don't see the benefit." Almost immediately the scrutinizing and questioning eyes of every commander were on him, MP's included, causing him to clear his throat. "I-I mean, how safe are these weapons? They look like they will combust the second they're fired."
Maverick remained silent for a few moments, letting out an amused huff before responding.
"I will admit, when I first arrived in the world these weapons, the volley gun especially, were prone to malfunction." He continued. "Many a priest was often paired alongside the crew of these weapons."
A few wide eyes were seen from the gallery, but Maverick quickly lifted a finger, for he had more to say. "However, throughout the years the volley gun had been improved upon as the Empire continued to advance its technological prowess, to reduce the dangers in its operation."
"What I'm presenting today was the most recent model that the school developed." A few relieved looks returned to his relief.
"Which brings me to my main point." His tone turned more hardened as he eyed everyone present. "I have seen the effectiveness of these weapons, and I wish to bring them here, to give you all an edge in your war against these giants. That is my proposition to you all."
Silence filled the room as the commanders were left a bit overwhelmed, in a good way. The demigod had been nothing short of helpful since the moment he first arrived, and now here he was, more than willing to share more of his knowledge to them. Some wondered what they had done to deserve such a being, while some remained on the side of caution.
"You seem quite adamant that these purposed pieces will be a boon to our military strength." The assemblyman said, receiving a hardened look from the glowing eyed man.
"That I do, for the days of humanity cowering inside these Walls will come to an end." His reassured tone caused Gerald to lean back into his seat, feeling the eyes burning into his skull once again.
"Is that so?" He responded, a bit meekly for a man of his stature.
"The expedition was but a mere steppingstone in retaking the greater outside world." Maverick continued, his voice rising ever so slightly. "Every piece we take back must be reinforced and defended with a stable and stalwart garrison at the helm."
"You wish for bring us out alongside the scouts?" One of the Garrison commanders asked, causing the large man to tilt his head slightly.
"Are we not all united in this fight, Sir?" He received no response, taking it as a sign to continue. "Someone will have to keep watch of our new territories while the scouts go off and take the giants head on." His sights turned to the gathered MP commanders, Nile in specific.
"And someone will have to keep the peace and order, no doubt there will be those who will see these new areas as prime avenues for dubious actions."
Everyone was left quite speechless, he was honest-to-god propositioning them to venture out alongside the scouts, which had left some dividing thoughts among them. Some found it inconceivable, while others saw this as a golden opportunity.
All the while the Commander-In-Chief remained silent, pondering to himself as his eyes stared into the drawing on the stand. Just what else did their large ally have hidden inside his mind he wondered. Soon his sights turned to the commander of the scouts, who had remained silent throughout the entire presentation.
"You've been quiet for some time Commander, any thoughts?" Eyes turned to Smith, who kept his composure as he answered.
"The scouts are but one regiment Sir, we cannot be at every retaken location. I believe this new artillery will provided the protection and much needed firepower to our operations."
"Hard to believe, considering who is standing next to you." Gerald remarked. His choice of words were a bit poor as said large individual swiftly turned his head in his direction, a flat expression on his face.
"I can't babysit everyone, nor be everywhere at once." He spoke, a slight harshness in his tone. "There will be moments where I'll be far from conflicts, which will be up to others to handle." This seemed to shut the man up as the goliath continued his presentation.
For the next half hour Maverick had continued to wow the military counsel with more of his weapon designs, including his plans for the grenade launcher and hand cannon variants of their standard flare gun, as well as new defensive weapons which greatly impressed and fascinated Pixis and the other Garrison commanders.
By the end of it all, he appeared to have gained the favor of everyone present, all except the Assemblyman, whom both Erwin and Maverick noticed had remained rather stoic, a concerned look often on his face. Following his presentation Maverick and the gathered commanders had begun to talk, discussing just how they would proceed with these projects, as if it had already been decided.
"Hmmm, these will certainly take quite the undertaking, though these drawings you've provided have certainly been a boon." Zachary said running his fingers across the volley gun sketch.
"It'll be a matter of cost in the end honestly, considering we already have an established weapon against the titans." One Garrison commander added. "The best we can fund for now are single models."
Maverick nodded in agreement. Of course simply talking about how it would work was one thing, making it a reality was another. But with the advancements he had seen throughout his years in the Old World, as well as the similar level of tech in this world, he was more than certain he could turn these weapons into a reality.
"Of course, if possible I'd like to pay a visit to the factory city myself, at least for the initial construction."
Some raised brows showed among some of the commanders, more specifically the MP's, but soon found themselves in agreement, it was only logical that the man who had studied these machines be present to teach their engineers. All the while the nobleman had his jaw drop at hearing the demigod speak so casually of their secret industrial complexes.
'H-He knows of the cities?' Gerald thought to himself. The factory cities were meant to be a heavily guarded secret, known to only the top military personnel. Just who had told him about their existence?
"That will be up for debate within the MP command, as we hold jurisdiction." Nile spoke in a matter-of-factly manner, pointing to himself and the other MP's.
"As well as the approval of his majesty, less you forget." Gerald suddenly spoke up from behind, joining the gathered men. He turned his sights to the drawing of the volley gun. "I shall present this to the king as well, no doubt he'll want to see this with his own eyes."
The smile he put on was obviously forced, Maverick could tell. But if it made him feel better and more secure about his own position then he didn't see why not, besides he didn't have the authority to bypass them.
"Of course, I will eagerly await his response." The goliath responded putting on a fake smile of his own. Almost immediately the noble rolled up the drawing and secured it in its holder.
"I thank you gentlemen for your time, truly." Maverick spoke in a sincere tone, a sentiment reciprocated by the commanders, even the MP's showed a bit of courtesy. "Always a pleasure Maverick."
-oOo-
After saying their farewells the gathering had departed, the nobleman leaving rather quickly than the rest, something noticed by a certain few. Those of course being Maverick, Erwin, and Darius who had decided to leave the offices together.
A few moments passed as the sound of their boots echoed the walls till suddenly, to both the scouts' surprise, the Commander-In-Chief began to chuckle, showing a genuine smile on his face.
"*Chuckles* That was quite the presentation." He said looking to the large man to his right. Maverick simply gave a smirk in reply as he kept his eyes forward.
"Glad to see you enjoyed it Sir." Another round of chuckles escaped his throat as the elder patted the demigod's arm.
"Think he more enjoyed the Assemblyman's reaction through all this." Erwin remarked. A toothy grin formed under Zachary's moustache as a mad glint in his eye shined.
"Can't deny that. Did you see how hard he tried to hide his composure the moment you brought out those pictures? Absolutely priceless!" Erwin was taken aback. This was quite possibly the first time he had heard the old Premier sound so animated, it was quite startling to hear him speak with so much amusement in his voice at the nobleman's expense.
"Seeing him squirm in his seat, the feeling that he had no control over the situation. You truly have the guts my friend." Maverick let out an amused huff. It wasn't his first time making blue bloods uncomfortable, wouldn't be the last.
"Seems like you don't care much for the higher ups." He remarked, earning a scoff from the Premier. Not caring much was the understatement of the century.
"Tch, can't stand the lot of them, much less be in the same room as them." He replied, his eyes catching and snarling at the sight of a portrait of an old and snobbish looking noble
"Heh, know that feeling." Muttered Maverick, though Zachary was still able to hear it and gave a questioning look. "Oh?"
"Our friend has plenty of experience with dealing with the nobility." Erwin answered with a cryptic tone. Darius stayed silent for a few moments, trying to fully understand what he meant.
"Ah… Ahhh…" He voiced, finally getting the true meaning. "*Chuckles* I see." He turned to Maverick with a humored look, for he should have known that the man walking beside him had lived such a life.
A comfortable silence followed as the three men walked down the long steps leading to the first floor of the grand building, passing by a few MP's who stopped to salute the Premier, as well as the commander of the Scouts. Maverick of course received a nervous nod of acknowledgement from the unicorns.
"So, how good are our chances?" Maverick asked watching the officers disappear down a hallway. Darius scratched his chin in thought.
"Can't say to be honest. Presenting to every military commander most certainly increased your odds." Releasing a heavy sigh he continued. "It'll boil down to the crown's actions going forward." A smirk reformed as his eyes darted to the large man.
"But I'm sure you have a plan should they deny you, yes?" A chuckle was his response as Maverick trimmed his long beard, showing little to no worry.
"Of course."
"You also realize you'll never see that drawing again right?" Darius added. Once again, Maverick continued to trim his growing facial hair.
"Let them have it, I can make copies." Satisfied with his answer the Premier didn't question further as they had finally reached the main entrance doors. Bidding the scouts farewell the elder militant made way to his carriage while the two did the same.
Only for Maverick to stop mid step. For a feeling in his gut had returned, telling him he was being watched. He swiftly turned, looking back at the building they just exited, watching for signs of any and all movements from within and outside.
"Something wrong Maverick?" Turning his head he was met with the concerned look from his commander who had just opened the door to their ride. He didn't wish to alarm him, so he simply ran his hand through his black mane, letting out and exhausted sigh.
"Nah…minds' just playing tricks." He voiced in a tired tone. Erwin remained silent for a few moments before approaching him from behind and patting his arm.
"Those all-nighters no doubt. You can take the rest of the day off once we return, rather not have you pass out in the middle of the plaza." Looking down the large man was met with a small smile from his superior, gesturing for him to enter the carriage.
"Heh, of course Sir."
Embarking on their ride they made their way out of the district, straight back home. Looking out through his window Maverick took one last glance at the building, and narrowed his eyes, as behind the dome topping the building he saw something move about, a fabric moving in the wind.

Mitras, Capitol of Humanity…
"He's mocking us…The bastards mocking us!" Aurille shouted, slamming his fist on the table. After the marked man's presentation Gerald had quickly returned to join his cohorts, who had been anxiously waiting for his return.
They were more than surprised to see him return with something in his hands. Revealing it to be a weapon designed by the demigod himself. Right now we see them ogling the laid out sketches, their eyes darting to every detail and view shown.
"By the Walls, I've never seen a cannon like this." Roderich muttered, rubbing his hands together, trying to contain himself while looking at the monstrous artillery piece.
"Called it a volley gun." Gerald informed, pointing at the descriptions of it features. "Fires nine shots before having to reload."
The three looked at him with shocked expressions, for the idea of a cannon that fired more than one was inconceivable to them, yet here they were. "From what he told, he learned how to create this weapon from some master engineers at a school he attended"
The assemblymen were taken aback for a moment.
"Can't imagine a man like him to be the studious type." Deltoff scoffed, crossing his arms in thought, before looking back at the drawing.
"Quite the details on this piece." His eyes shifted to the back mechanism reading the description of its function. "Revolving mechanism, interesting…"
Give the goliath credit, what he was proposing was quite revolutionary. He wondered just what else he had hidden inside his head.
"Revolving…now where have I heard that before…." Roderich remarked trying to recall just where did he hear that word. It was at the tip of his mind, revolving…
"Didn't the interior squad apprehend a man designing weaponry like this?" Deltoff recalled.
"Your right!" The head of the Wall Cult exclaimed, snapping his fingers. Of course how could he forget, he was present that day when they authorized the hit.
"This can't be a coincidence!" Aurille shouted, bringing everyone's attention to him. "First the letter, now this? He must have foreseen and planned this all in advance!"
He had to know about the letters sent to them. Why else would he have had the gall to present these war machines to the military, knowing they would no doubt eat up whatever he had to offer. Not to mention sending a letter to the king as well, he had clearly foreseen this with some power he had yet to unveil or tell about.
"I doubt it." Deltoff responded, only to be faced with the shorter noble's sausage finger being pointed at him.
"Doesn't change the fact that he has presented new weaponry to every high commander of each military branch! No doubt they just lapped it up like dogs!" He looked to Gerald for confirmation, to which he nodded.
"He did present some weaponry that interested the high commander of the MP's." Uncomfortable looks sprouted from the other two, to think he was able to entice the Military Police. "He also has knowledge of the factory cities.
"WHAT!?"
Aurille's fist pounded on the table as he began to spout out a series of obscenities, while Deltoff and Roderich tried their best to ignore their enraged fellow. "H-How does he know?"
"Seems that the military was trusting enough to disclose such information to him." Gerald responded, crossing his arms, to which the short noble began to pace around the room, damming the names of every military commander.
The three assemblymen remained in silent contemplation until Aurille calmed himself down resigning to sit in his chair and rub his head, for he had giving himself a headache. "So what now? Should we present this to the king." Deltoff asked passing a glass of wine to the red faced noble.
"I suppose, he'll just approve without even looking at it." Gerald offhandedly remarked, looking back at the currently empty throne, as the king had left for his evening meal leaving the crown behind, again.
"Are we seriously going to ignore the fact he knows of our secret industrial sectors?" Aurille spoke, rubbing his temple with one hand, wine glass in the other. "Am I still the only one who cares?!" Silence filled the room as the three simply stared at the man.
"Not like we can do much on our end." Deltoff muttered, What could they really do? Get rid of the current military officials? Send the interior squads to apprehend him? No, that'd be both political suicide, and general suicide.
The Garisson had just been dealt a massive overhaul not too long ago, and the king had recently been adamant to have the Military Police be more proactive in their duties, all at the behest of him. Not to mention the letter.
"Agreed. And honestly, it's not worth the headache." Gerald spoke to the agreement of the three. It was simply best to let the Slayer do what he wishes. Aurille had begun to voice his displeasure, but was told they had come to an agreement, outnumbering him three to one. The three nobles soon departed to continue their duties, deciding to present the plans to the king later in the day. Leaving Aurille to his own devices.
The man couldn't believe it. Just how spineless had they become? They had come to a decision so quickly, in no time flat. It honestly seemed he was the only one who was still seeing the dangerous power their Savior possessed. The drawings were evidence enough.
Forget the military, what if he gave this knowledge to the people, or his blasted cult? God forbid. He soon recalled the notes of his trial, apparently he was sent by higher powers to help them, weren't they so fortunate.
Something had to be done, to show they still held a position of strength. His family had held their position in power for generations, and he'd be damned if he were to let some giant oaf walk all over him.
Bastard…" He muttered, to the amused chuckles of a familiar individual. Looking back he saw him, appearing out of the shadows.
"This amuses you?" He sneered, only making the man chuckle further.
"Kinda, watching your face get all red like that." He said making his way to him, a toothy grin plastered on his face.
"Had you done your bloody job we wouldn't be in this situation! Now he has the entire military on his side with this nonsense!" He smacked the paper in frustration, before getting up to get some fresh air, while the tall figure leaned over to take a gander at the doodle, letting out a whistle at the sight of the multiple barrels.
"That's one hell of a gun…" He continued to read out the descriptions while Aurille began to go on another tirade.
"Should have sent the squads after him the moment he arrived, but nooooo. Let him be. We wouldn't want to upset the big bad brute!" The man tuned out his words, simply continuing to look at the very interesting doodles. The big man had a talent, not like him he couldn't draw for shit. It reminded him of the ones his boys had been drawing up, he'd have to make a note to check in with them and see how they were progressing.
His thoughts turned again to the man responsible for all this. He was an honest blessing, as things were getting quite boring inside the walls. With that in mind he decided that maybe finally it was time to meet the man face to face. But not as a member of the Assembly, oh no, wouldn't make it out like a hit on him.
No, this was just gonna be a friendly unannounced visit from dear old Kenny.
-Maverick The Titan Slayer: A Study-
Weaponsmith: Maverick has displayed an astute knowledge, ability, and raw talent in creating an assortment of weaponry, ranging from blunt instruments of destruction to devastating ranged weaponry. Quality wise he has shown an efficiency to craft makeshift weaponry utilizing a multitude of materials, a process called jury-rigging, be they constructed from borderline junk to even bone fragments. He credits his knowledge to many of his previous masters and teachers of the craft.
Higher Knowledge: Much to the contradiction of certain outliers, the Slayer is far more than a simpleminded brute. He has often displayed a higher intellect, rivaling that of the most astute Sina philosopher and university professor, no doubt in thanks to his unique circumstances and overall experience under his belt. In short, the man has both the brains and brawn to match.
A/N: Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, I know I did.
Back on point, here we see things start to get heated with a member of the Assembly starting to get pretty peeved at Mav's continued disregard for authority, at least in his eyes. Will Aurille resort to finally do what he wished to have done so long ago, or will he let these transgressions go unpunished?
We also get to see the official reveal of everyone's favorite serial ripper! Think he's got what it takes to take on the Slayer?
Find out next time, when relations between the Slayer and the reigning authority begin to sour!
