Heart & Soul Wrestling Presents:
Back In Black
January 27,Year 2
CourageDome
Kingwood, WV
Renton Thurston, Eureka, Atticus Brown & Isla Woods vs. Ashitaka, San, Bolin & Opal
Show opens with a 8 person inter gender tag bout sure to be as chaotic as the brawls leading toward it. The core of the match had come down to Renton Thurston taking out his frustrations of not being in the world title picture on Ashitaka. Though Ashitaka has a cool head, his closest confidant is not. San had leveled the playing field in the number one contender match a number of weeks back, sparking off conflict between two couples.
Renton, as he had in the previous weeks, shielded himself with Atticus & Isla. Although the rules of the match were one v one in the ring, The King of Vinyl and his lover stretched that stipulation. They often managed to isolate both Ashitaka & San, these two being the clear target. Renton wanted to steer clear from Princess Mononoke especially. But he soon was reminded of another problem he had developed over the years.
Bolin has been a bit unsure where he was going in Heart & Soul. Like Renton, he was distraught over not being in the world title picture. But unlike Renton he kept those frustrations quiet and from being destructive to the rest of the locker room. He was effectively confronting his own inner strife by backing San & Ashitaka against Renton and his posse. It appeared Bolin was close to getting Renton out of commission for the night with Rolling Thunder. Eureka managed to yank Renton off the canvas in time, Bolin eating the hard mat.
As expected with these situations, order broke down repeatedly. Bodies were flying all over the CourageDome. Opal took Isla down with a moonsault out of the ring. Ashitaka saved Bolin at one point with a plancha that deflated Atticus to the ground. For awhile little tags were being made, Renton & Ashitaka were the legal two but who could remember? San eventually cornered Eureka and tied her up into the Urufu Rokku. Eureka was tapping frantically but she was not legal. Renton broke up the submission, and inverted DDT San on the mat. Wanting to get vengeance for the start of this situation, he kept San in his grasp. Renton executed the Amita Drive to San! The crowd was ready to revolt, especially by Renton's shit eating grin. But Ashitaka surprised Renton from behind with a springboard roundhouse kick! He drilled Renton's face into the canvas with the Youkai Destroyer for the win!
Renton could go home feeling he got an ounce of revenge, but it had cost him and his teammates the win. His only allies in the company are going to be far from happy with him. San was brought back up to her feet, supported by Ashitaka and the rest of her team. Dazed, but victorious with the rest of her quartet.
Booker DeWitt vs. Dr Jo Nason
Prophet, Booker. Dr Jo Nason had politely invited him to a match on this pay-per-view. But Booker, and much of the audience, was confused as to why. Why would someone willingly want to have a fight, especially when requesting it in such courtesy terms? For Dr Nason, Booker provided a new specimen for him to manipulate the limbs of. Booker was partly what prevented him becoming number one contender in the ladder match several weeks earlier. What allowed Booker to be able to endure the abominable move set of Nason?
The match was a hoss fight. Both men were aiming to win by pressuring the muscles and bones of their opponent to the canvas for the three count. Once they realized the elbow tie ups were not going to give either an advantage, the hay markers came out. Booker won in this department, managing to bloody The Good Doctor around the lips. But he wasn't going to be able to win a wrestling match by punching a dude into delirium. Chops were more appreciated by the referee than punches, but this allowed time for Jo to gain his bearings. He focused on the arms of Booker. Taking out his haymakers would not only weaken the False Prophet, but allow Jo to feel the muscles and bones tear and fragment in inhumane locks.
Booker was defiant, trying to keep trucking along. But every time Dr Nason got Booker in his clutches, the False Prophet lost use of another vital digit. He managed to bloody Jo when a high knee reached the stratosphere, boot clipping up the target's brow. Booker was restored to having to fight with wild drop kicks as the only means of putting the big man to the canvas. Nason yanked Booker to the mat with a modified mandible claw, forcing the False Prophet to lose consciousness. The referee calls for a stop, handing Jo Nason the victory.
The Boones vs A Mystery Opponent
Ever since they had beaten down the Humanoid Typhoon a number of weeks ago, The Boones have been all talk but no show. They had expected isolating and decimating one of the most beloved figures from the Blood & Ink days of ECW would rocket them into stardom. It had only soured themselves to everyone both in the locker room and sitting in the CourageDome. But at last it appeared they were being recognized. The CEO of the company had given them a match on pay-per-view.
Cole, Grant & Walter walked into the building tonight with chest puffed out. They were full of confidence and excitement. Cole continued to hype up the other two Boones with words of encouragement. Cole expected the Boones shall steamroll over whomever their opponent is….
…
…
…
…
…
To their surprise, it was Vash who was walking to the six sided ring. Cole began to laugh, not believing that they were getting to face Vash again. Now i scenario. His laughter died down sharply, asking if Varrick was truly stupid. It was no longer funny. The Boones did not see the joy of defeating Vash again. But Cole admits they are not above getting a guaranteed win for their first Pay-Per-View. Vash replies that what follows was not proposed by him. Buuuut….he had made a promise to a friend many moons back that he would allow said friend to aid him in situations Vash could not win in…

Nicholas D Wolfwood walks out into the CourageDome. The crowd erupts into cheers. For the first time in a long while, the Cross-Guns are back together! The Boones quiver, but Cole points out the situation is still two on three. But in the eye of Wolfwood, it's actually 2 v .5 as it takes combining all three of the Boones brains to get half the intelligence of a dodo bird.
At the sound of the bell, all three Boones try to swamp the Cross-Guns. They try one more to isolate Vash and take him out of the equation. But with Wolfwood now by his side, this tactic is futile. Wolfwood spins out Grant with a swinging neck breaker. Cole breaks off from Vash, getting into a scuffle with Wolfwood. Walter & Cole gang up in the corner. But Vash is now the one to make the save. A drop kick to the back of Walter's head. Wolfwood struggles to get the big man off of him, while Vash and Cole battle center ring. Cole tries Suplex in Vash, but it goes the other direction into a fisherman's Suplex.
Cole is pulled out of the ring by Grant who is freaking out. He did NOT sign up for this. Cole tries to psyche Grant back up, only for BOTH to be pulled off the ground by Vash & Wolfwood respectively. Both marksmen began to unload chops to the chests of two thirds of the Boones, reaching the ten count from the crowd. Wolfwood gets one more shot in, gaining a cry of 'no fair' from Vash for comical effect.
The Cross-Guns had brought Grant & Cole back in the ring, hoping for some way to end things quickly. But Walter clotheslined BOTH marksmen to the ground. Walter gathered up Cole & Grant, with the later having to be held up. The three are in a huddle, coming up with some strategy. They seem to have reached some agreement, putting all three hands into the huddle for a 'Go Boones'...
…
…
…
…
But whatever plan they had is thrown out the window when stereo spinning heel kicks hit Walter square in the nose. Walter falls into the arms of Cole & Grant. With Grant already not consciously together at the moment, his caves under Walter. Only Cole is left alone, surrounded by the begs for forgiveness, but Wolfwood is having none of it. Vash intervenes, blocking Wolfwood's punch. Vash is willing to give Cole one fair punch in this no win scenario. He holds his head forward, with hands behind his back. But rather then try to go for the lunch, Cole goes for a LOW BLOW! Wolfwood saw it coming, grabbing Cole's foot. He lifts Cole up, feeding his head to Vash. The Cross-Guns lay out Cole Boone with the Double Barrel Colt (Flapjack Into A Sitout Facebuster). Cross-Guns Defeat The Boones! Vash The Stampede & Nicholas D Wolfwood are a new force to reckon with in Heart & Soul's tag division!
Gang Warfare
Of all the matches were the most hype entering tonight's show, it was that conglomerate. The feud between the Best Friends Squad and the Pink Lotus ignited on night one of Grit. The first casualties in the establishment of Korra's faction were Adora & Catra. They had been screwed out of becoming the inaugural Soul Tag Team Champions. The Pink Lotus, however, had little consideration for the scorn they'd generated in the hearts of the Princess of Power and her feline friend. Every week's Grit had devolved into a brawl as the Best Friends Squad tried to prevent the Pink Lotus from meddling with other matches. But trying to be the heroes had come at the cost of not only injuries to Bow & Glimmer, but plunging the entire locker room into chaos. The Kyoshi Warriors joined the ranks, Renton abound they were not recognizing a leader in the ad-his faction. Sarah Ortiz, who turned down being a new member of the Pink Lotus, was involved primarily to prove herself to Korra rather than to aid in a vendetta ride. After two weeks of being suspended, all ten women would have the chance to settle their score by any means necessary.
Gangs do not often fight in the open. They prefer the ambiguity of alleys a night. So it was that tonight's Gang Warfare would be contested outside the walls of the CourageDome. A ring of cars & trucks defined a loose perimeter to keep curious eyes out of harms way. The Ad-Hoc Best Friends Squad emerged from a back door of the arena. There was no defined leader, although many eyes fell upon Adora. She wielded a metal staff in hand, ready to defend Heart & Soul from being overran by the Pink Lotus. Catra was armed with her stun baton, with no rules barring her from using it. Sarah Ortiz was far less savage in appearance, with her trademark mask on. But she was dressed in street clothes, knowing tonight would be rough. The Kyoshi Warriors were dressed for war. Suki & Ty-Lee had donned the iconic white face paint with red highlights, dressed in green armored kimonos.
The Pink Lotus entered the ring single file, with Korra leading the column. Each member were donning leather vests & pants. The seal of the Lotus was on the back of each jacket, their names etched in the upper right hand corner. Korra had a kendo stick behind her head. The rest of her team seemed content letting their fists do the talking. Both teams stare through each other.
"Remember What We Agreed Upon?" Adora asks.
"We Fight Until We Make One Of You Cry Quit." Korra states.
"And If I Carve Out Your Throat Open?" Catra questions, getting no answer.
All hell breaks loose thereafter, both factions colliding in the middle of the ring. Very quickly encircling the ten women with cars isn't seeming like a good idea. As Adora's staff manages to break through Korra's kendo stick, a mirror is seen flying free when is whipped by Milicent toward the side of one of the vehicles. The Bordeauxes and The Kyoshi Warriors pick up where they left off in their championship match, both team jockeying to overwhelm the other. But most violent was the collision between Ashley & Catra. Ashley was struggling to keep the tongs of stun baton from reaching her abdomen. A headbutt to Catra allows Ashley to get the upper hand, prying the baton away. Ashley's attempts to use it are in vain, being thrown to the ground with a drop kick.
Korra begins overpowering Adora, cracking the kendo stick across her back. Adora staggers back against one of the cars, narrowly avoiding another shot. Korra blocks one of Adora's punches, pressing her back against the side door. Adora is lifted from her feet, the Judas Avatar hoping to spine buster her on the hood of the car. The delay of gotta allows Adora to start punching at Korra's shoulder blades, loosening the hold. Adora finds the strength to duplex Korra back first across the hood of one of the cars.
Millicent has gone to help Montreal's Finest in ganging up on the Kyoshi Warriors. Remi & Maxine have Ty-Lee stretched out. Millicent is standing on top of the roof of one of the cars. She's going to elbow drop through Ty-Lee's ribs! But Sarah Ortiz scales up the car from behind Millicent. She clings to her neck, trying all she can to keep the big woman from attacking. Millicent is able to throw Sarah off her back, but it's bought time for Suki to deck Remi in the side of the head with the metal end of one of her fans. Maxine tries to seat Suki to the ground, but only ends up being tripped to the dirt herself.
Catra & Ashley we're non stop in their violent hair pulling contest. The tumbleweed of terror they had gotten themselves into is only broken up by Ashley wrestling control of the baton once again and TAZZING Catra! Ashley kicked up the dirt with her her heel, intentionally trying to blind Catra with the grim. Catra was defenseless, and would have been sent hurdling into the side window of a car were it not for Sarah yanking Ashley into a neck breaker. Korra saw Ashley in peril and dropped her fight with Adora. She stuns Sarah with a bicycle kick and tries throwing Sarah head first toward a car door. Adora prevents Korra, dazing the Judas Avatar with haymakers. Both Sarah & Adora whip Korra waist first into the side of a vehicle.
The chaos was inevitably going to spill beyond the ring of cars. Adora aided Catra to her feet, but Catra was not taking things easy. She went on the offensive against Ashley, only to get back body dropped into the tailgate of a truck. Adora & Sarah became bogged down by Montreal's Finest to help. Ashley & Catra brawled out of the tailgate and into the dark of the night. Who knew where they we're going. But everyone saw which way Suki's head was going…
…
…
…
Straight Through A Passenger Window! Millicent Is The Culprit Of The Heinous Act! Ty-Lee had already been thrown down to the dirt with a Dublin Watchtower. Korra staggered back into the middle, ordering Millicent to de-robe Suki. She didn't want to see any visage of a firmer Avatar (especially one hailed as the all time greatest). Millicent tears the kimono to pieces off of Suki's torso. Suki was only spared further insult by Sarah decking Millicent with the broken off side mirror. Korra & Sarah tussled, but Adora intervened. She wanted to inflict punishment of the ring leader the past two months of attacks solo. She rammed Korra spine first into a car, but Korra was far from defenseless. She shoved Adora back with her foot, then dazed her with a uppercut. But trying to smack Adora's head off the hood of the vehicle allowed Adora to slide out of reach and behind the car. Korra reached for Adora, only getting her own jaw racked across the hood. Adora pulled Korra across the hood, lifting her into a vertical suplex that smashed Korra's back onto something hard in the dark of the night.
A camera crew eventually locates where Ashley & Catra had disappeared to. Ashley bashed Catra's skull off the side of the concrete façade of the arena. But trying to repeat the process did not end so well as a irate (and delirious) Catra sunk her claws into Ashley's hair. She began to throw her repeatedly against a metal door. Ashley slumped into a heap, Catra knelt to be eye level, trying to persuade her to verbally quit. Ashley replies with a poke to the eye. She swerves out of the doorway as Millicent comes barreling into view, grabbing Catra and busting OPEN the door! Ashley does a double take, peeking a few times through the breached doorway to confirm she just saw the doors be obliterated. Then thanks her lucky stars that she & Korra had recruited Millicent to their side many weeks earlier.
Elsewhere in the midst of Gang Warfare, Montreal's Finest we're playing a bit of catch and release between the two of them. Its was entertaining for the sisters but agonizing for Suki, who was dazed and in tattered clothing that threatened to trip her up. Maxine & Remi give Suki one final Irish Whip that smacks her face against the corner of the CourageDome. But their toying of Suki neglected Ty-Lee in the back of their minds. The acrobat blindsides Maxine, taking her down to the dirt with a hurricanrana. Remi tries to beat Ty-Lee back into the shadows but not before being decked over the back of the head by the metal mouth of a fire hose. Suki had gotten to her senses, finding a large hose wrapped around a coil mounted to the side of the building. Furious of the disgrace the Pink Lotus had shown toward her tonight, she starts to wrap the hose around Remi's neck. She begins CHOKING Remi! Ty-Lee adds further damage, rushing back to her feet and drilling her knee into Remi's head. Suki hands Ty-Lee the end of the hose, running back to the coil the hose is attached to. Moments later, cold water begins gushing out of the nozzle. Ty-Lee struggles for a moment before taking aim, dozing Montreal's Finest in water. Not only a receipt in disgrace but also legit dangerous considering the cold temperatures of the February night are they fighting on.
Adora wasn't looking too good in her fight with Korra. Korra motioned onlookers as she chucked the supposed Princess of Power across a souvenir stand, merchandise being cleared completely off the top. Korra tries to intimidate Adora into audibly forfeiting the match as she looks to put Adora head first through the table with the Balance Restorer. Adora isn't going to give in, but appears helpless. That's until Sarah Ortiz cracks the kendo stick from earlier over Korra's lower back! Adora now got the advantage, back body dropping Korra through a second table covered in merchandise! Sarah quickly grabs Korra and hurries deeper into the CourageDome with a stricken Avatar.
Ashley & Millicent have been in the process of brutalizing Catra in the back corners of the CourageDome. Though we didn't get to see much of the tactics, we visibly see the results. A tattered & haggard cat girl is dragged out from behind one of the balconies and into the spotlights of the arena. Ashley is taking things easy, calling every shot Millicent takes at Catra; Ramming her repeatedly against the steel side of the shipping containers used to make up the crude balconies, A pop-up powerbomb that pounds her spine first across the hard edge of the six-sided ring, a Dublin Watchtower in the center of the ring. Each time Catra is beaten down, Ashley taunts her into quitting the fight. The last taunt made loud for everyone in the arena to here as Ashley had snatched hold of the ring announcer's microphone. When Catra defiantly clawed at her tormentor's face, Ashleyhit the Broken Blade.
Before the Smark Killer could torment Catra any further, she and Millicent's attention cuts toward one of the entry tunnels as Korra is launched with a fierce Irish Whip from Sarah in the shadows. Korra's momentum sends her face first into one of the steel posts, busting her head open. Sarah quickly realized she was outnumbered standing at the foot of the ring, but decided to stand firm. She beckoned the two-fifths of the Pink Lotus in the ring to strike. Ashley charges, gets knocked down. Millicent attacks, whipped against one of the trusses that define the entryway. Sarah is throwing her all into trying to remove the Emerald Amazon as a threat to herself and the rest of her team. Ashley grabs Sarah from behind, but can't keep up with the second wind the Female Enigma as tapped into. Sarah dazes her with a superkick. But Millicent is able to swing momentum back to her side with one blunt club of her forearm. Millicent rolls Sarah up the communications platform (which is a concealed frame of a flatcar). She smacks Sarah's skull against the side of the hard camera. The black curtain which acts as a divider from the backstage area ruffles before Adora hurries up onto the stage, starting to fire away at the skull of Millicent. Millicent absorbs the punches.
As the fight occurs on the communications platform, a mangled Catra can be seen grappling with a bloodied Korra. Their newly ignited brawl steers right into the path of fans hunkered down in one of the lower balconies. Both combatants disappear from sight, a groggy Ashley pursuing the both of them. The focus, however is on Adora & Sarah attempting to neutralize Millicent. The Emerald Amazon is able to hold off both women. But the timely arrival of the Kyoshi Warriors forces Millicent to reconsider where she stands. All four are able to overwhelm Millicent, splaying her across the commentary table. Sarah scales the trusses of one of the entryways and hits an Angelic Splash, putting Millicent (and herself) through the table.
The soaking wet & freezing tag team champions have managed to find their way into the CourageDome. They come in swinging with chairs at Suki & Ty-Lee. Adora was ready to jump in to help, before a voice echoed through the audio system.
"Coward Or Killer, Adora!?" Korra shouts.
On the top of one of the 5 double stacked balconies in the CourageDome stands the Judas Avatar with a microphone in hand. Ashley had a limp Catra draped over her interlocked arms.
"I Want To Know What Type Of Hero You Truly Are Adora…..so I'll ask again…..COWARD….OR KILLER?" Korra demands.
Its clear what Korra is attempting to achieve. Ashley takes a few steps to the back of the limited running room she got. She had Catra's limp head in one palm, the other palm clasps the waist of Catra's jumpsuit. She's ready to hurl Catra into the air, a plunge of at least 20 feet. It would surely kill her!
"STOP!" Adora can be heard shouting, rushing into the ring to get closer.
Korra held a hand up, keeping Ashley from doing the deed.
"I couldn't hear you from up here, make that more clear for all of us in here to understand, pleas?" Korra tauntingly asks.
"I QUIT, DON'T KILL HER!" Adora shouts up at Korra at the top of her lungs.
Korra can be seen smirking, getting just the rise out of Adora she was hoping for. Ashley lets go of Catra, leaving her to lie on the top of the balcony. The bell rings, Adora's verbal forfeit giving the Pink Lotus the victory in Gang Warfare. The crowd is none to please by the result, but its for a variety of reasons. Some sickened the Pink Lotus would stoop so low to threaten throwing someone to their death to achieve a win. But others are angered that the match ended with Adora caving in emotionally. Its clear at least Suki is furious Adora quit the match. She is in the six-sided ring confronting Adora as the first half of the pay-per-view fades away to run some promotional material.
That is the first half of Back In Black done with. Of course, we still have our three sanctioned championship matches. Be sure to be following the story to be the first notified when the second half of the Pay-Per-View drops. Now pretend this is only going to be a few minute break before we return to the ring, get a bite to eat before we return.
