Hey Ya'll, we are getting to the point that I have to make more moves for Biwako. But my imagination sucks big time. If any of you have an idea for her Thunder breathing then feel free to comment! Though If you all want then I can just use the Demon Slayer canon material.
Also, What color should Biwako's sword be? I'm thinking of either red or yellow. But feel free to vote!
Also, also, We are nearing the end of this arc, which I name Thunder Breathing Arc, and I already have a solid idea for the next one. There is also a little hint as to where they will be going next.
Also, Also, Also, we are nearing chapter 10! I can't wait!
Rewievs!:
OFARioulu: Yeah he doesn't.
Nithi velu: You bring up a good point. If I get a good idea I might do that.
AkashimaUchiha: I'm glad you like it! I have a kinda solid idea where I'll be going with this. I just need time.
Rewiever no Kage: (Man, I love your detailed comments everytime! 3)
Thank you for the compliment on the battles! But I think you got something wrong, the commander of The Twins was Yoshihiro actually. But yeah the Old Man, Ashikaga, was the second in command who showed his commander the ropes.
I thought others would find the healing day rather boring but I was wrong it seems. I just wanted some nice and fluffy recovery time. Though Naruto's breakdown came from the left side a bit and I didn't know how to write it. I'm glad it came out okay-ish.
Yeeaaaaaaahhhhh! THE CHAINS ARE HERE! I originally wanted something epic (like him using it to stop his fall) but I decided to play on his mischievous nature.
I'm very much thinking on what to do with Itachi. I might kill him off or save him, its 50/50.
"Report."
"Sir, we have arrived approximately 72 hours after departure to the objective. As the environment was suboptimal at the time of approach we have decided to gather information and strike in the night instead of confronting them immediately. In the three hours until nightfall, we managed to learn and memorize the guards' numbers and rotations. As it was a moonless night we started from the top and made our way to the bottom levels."
Mifune raised an eyebrow from behind his desk, "Hoo? What was the reason for this choice?" Personally, he would have started from the bottom to avoid anyone accidentally discovering him and burning down the bridge.
"We feared there might be hidden archers, or even just bows, that could potentially fire burning arrows. We did not wish to take our chances and started from where they might be." Biwako replied professionally. Hands behind her back and standing proud. No reason not to be, this victory was important for Mifune's forces. This will help greatly to gain her the Nichirin sword.
"Yes, I have received reports of your… carnage," he kept his voice carefully blank, not giving away anything, "tell me, why have you decided against taking prisoners?"
"The mission comes first sir. I was simply making sure there are no confounding factors that might endanger it." Biwako's calm voice hasn't changed. But Mifune isn't incompetent enough to not notice the subtle edge.
Mifune stayed silent and simply stared at her. She was no weakling though so she matched him perfectly. A minute went down with neither relenting until Mifune spoke up, "what about the aftermath? You spent longer than I would have thought there."
"We both finished our jobs at around the same time. We regrouped on the bridge and started walking toward Naruto's tower to pick up most of his markers. On the way there we were ambushed by previously unknown forces-" She was cut off by Mifune's clap.
"It is good that you brought their bodies back," The atmosphere of the room changed so quickly that it nearly gave her whiplash. Her face remained blank as she stared at Mifune who smiled, "we identified them, not that it was hard, and I must say good job!"
"…Sir?" She tried to keep the confusion out of her voice but being off-foot isn't helping.
"Tell me," he leaned forward in interest. Like he got to the good part of a book, "what was your plan?" He doesn't even doubt that they had a plan. The question is if it was Naruto's brand of 'so insane that it might work' or Biwako's 'if you cut them enough they can't be a problem' plan.
"… The ambush started with, as later was found, mostly flaming arrows. Before hiding under a close-by shed one of the non-burning arrows hit Naruto in the right shoulder. Fortunately, he only lost around 80% of his range of movement. I, of course, gave him temporary first aid." She took a deep breath, "after confirming that both of us were capable of fighting Naruto heard footsteps. He counted six, possibly seven, people. As there were around a dozen arrows that hailed from north I inferred that they have left behind the archers. As I got his piece of information I devised a plan," Mifune leaned forward and locked his hands beneath his chin, "it was decided that I would circle around the forces closing in on us and quietly take down the left behind archers. Meanwhile, I was explaining the plan Naruto hid multiple Hiraishin kunai a few meters from the shed in a circle. As I was sticking to the shadows and avoiding the aforementioned group Naruto took attention to himself. This served as a two-pronged attack as not only did he reduce the chances of me being intercepted but angered the attackers."
"An angry enemy makes mistakes." Mifune quoted.
Biwako nodded and resumed her report, "I encountered the archers 300 hundred meters (around 984 feet) from Naruto's group," she saw Mifune arching an eyebrow in surprise and she agreed. Accurately firing from 300 meters in the middle of a snowy night at two children is nothing to scoff at, "they were primed to shoot again but Naruto kept himself close to the enemy so the archer couldn't shoot lest they hurt friendlies," She took another breath and smirked at what came next, "they were undoubtedly skilled archers. Unfortunately this didn't translate to close-ranged combat," she ignored Mifune's unimpressed face and blanked her face again, "it was short work to pick them off one-by-one. Only the last five the dozen noticed something happening and by that time it only took five minutes to kill them. After that rushed down from the cliff they were on to help Naruto," she frowned minutely, "I arrived as Naruto was almost beheaded." Mifune's expression twitched, "as you have noticed I have managed to save him in time. We switched targets and he, instead, attacked the remaining forces. I soon discovered that my enemy was of similar skill to myself, but I was in a disadvantageous position."
"How so?" His voice took on a teacheresque tone. He isn't interested in why she was, but why she thinks so.
"His reach was greater than mine," Her eyes glazed over as she recalled the battle, "his physique was better than mine and while our skills were equal he was more experienced. I also suspect that he was used to the terrain while I wasn't. I also couldn't prolong the battle due to both mine and Naruto's condition."
"How did you defeat Ashikaga then?" He was too late to notice the slip.
She noted down the name of the old man she fought, "I didn't."
This time his left eyebrow left his face, "His head simply flew off then?" It is at times like this that she remembers that he can be rather snarky for a bandaged skeleton.
She smirked lightly, "we did." She preened at his annoyed expression for falling for that. Still, she has a report to finish so she adopted a more serious expression prompting Mifune to do the same, "I used our stalemate to relay my new plan to Naruto-"she was cut off again. This is getting annoying.
"How did you do that? I don't say I'm an expert," mainly because he doesn't need to say it, "explaining something even remotely resembling a plan mid-battle sounds something rather hard."
"Genjutsu. The day prior to attacking The Twins a storm caught us," She ignores Mifune's sympathetic eyes, "we couldn't communicate properly so I used a simple Genjutsu to notify him. I used the time during planning to ensnare him in a low-level one and I kept it up during the battle." She preens under Mifune's praising nod.
"What was the plan then?" His nails tap against the wood table in hypnotic rhythm.
" I baited him into thinking that I was at the end of my stamina. For this effect, I tried appearing desperate by moving onto the offensive. While I was doing that I secretly attached thin ninja wire to Akahime's handle. Half a minute later I "overreached", " her voice to indicated air quotes, " and he caught my hand. He squeezed my hand and I let go of Akahime before he kicked me. After landing I baited him to come closer which he did. Naruto Attacked at the last moment and caught him flatfooted. After several faints, and me retrieving Akahime with the wire, I used Thunder breathing to decapitate him."
The leather chair creaked as Mifune leaned back and nodded in acknowledgment, "so the reason you two stayed for so long is injuries?"
"Correct."
Mifune hummed, "good job," A nod accompanied his words. With that said he looked down at the many documents –though not as many as Hokage-sama's- littering his desk.
This was an obvious dismissal but she isn't done yet, "Sir, who is this Ashikaga you mentioned?"
"An old fool you don't need to think about."
Excerpt from Naruto Uzumaki's diary of 'Fuuinjuts and other BS things #4'
There are no words to describe my sheer awe for my ancestors.
It has been around two weeks since we got back to Tanjiro-san's and Nezuko-chan's estate and to say that I haven't been sleeping is an understatement. To be fair I've been waiting to study my newfound chains since the moment I accidentally tried to catch a glass of water.
The glass still broke but who cares?
Gratefully Biwako, and the quickly-becoming-my-favorite siblings, haven't been bothering me besides forcing me to eat. This, of course, means that my productivity increased manyfold. And this means that I gleamed off some secrets and holy frick my ancestors were mad lads.
I hope that the next Uzumaki that reads this also thinks of me in that way.
First, I confirmed a few of my earlier ideas. Out of all of them, the most interesting was that the Adamantine Sealing Chains' seal –What a mouthful- is a crutch. The massive and complex seal that is put on our backs is just an extremely complicated enhancement to the already existing chains. They not only help with the initial awakening, but they also help with everything else. Namely shaping, controlling, strengthening, sealing, multiplying, and many other small things that add up to the absolute powerhouse that is Adamantine Sealing Chains. It doesn't make the chains but simply streamlines the process
I also discovered the reason for putting the seal on the back.
Because my own chains – the natural, non-seal assisted ones- can only be summoned from the back, though I don't know if this could be changed it's doubtful. I've asked Biwako to use her Sharingan to understand this better. According to her when I summon the chains, the chakra in my back –specifically the 12 Thoracic vertebrae as well as the L1, and L2 vertebrae- change in color from the usual light blue to a darker shade. We soon realized that my chakra doesn't actually change, but compresses.
Hence why my ancestors are mad lads. They didn't use elements –I admit I originally suspected earth- to form the chains. They used pure chakra!
They manipulated chakra in its purest form! How cool is that?!
I might have squealed like an over-excited little girl.
But how could I not?! Do you even understand the significance of this discovery?!
This is something that people have been attempting to do for… for at least as long as there was chakra!
The sheer possibilities this could open up is mindboggling. If only I could find some documents from back then I could even start experimenting. Right now this knowledge is useless since I'm nowhere near the level to even think about maybe attempting it.
This ties nicely to my next project though.
Remaking the actual Adamantine Sealing Chains. Right now what I have is nothing but a pale imitation even if it is a breakthrough I hadn't had since Hiraishin (more in my first book. Though you might find mentions in my other journals). The only problem is if I had an idea I would've remade it a long time ago.
That's when inspiration struck me like Lightning Release. More specifically Biwako asked a question.
'What are those markings on the seal?'
What markings- holy shit!
Those little markings –seal characters- that I originally discarded as interesting but ultimately useless.
After I took a loooong look at them the urge to hit past-me has become strong enough to play with the idea of a time travel seal.
Because what do you know they are pretty fucking important.
Why? They are parts of a seal matrix. A seal matrix written in the old language.
The very same old fuuinjutsu language that was presumably used in the early days of the Uzumaki clan. And when you think about it you also realize that the first Uzumakis walked around the same time as the Sage of Six Paths.
The Sage of Six Paths.
I had to write it twice because wow!
I made surprising headway in deciphering the language considering that it is only around a few thousand years old. But then again Fuuinjutu languages evolve very slowly so maybe it shouldn't be so surprising. It's actually very fun if I'm being honest, it kinda feels like when I made my first seal. Well, copied it from the book.
It still blew up though.
It was supposed to be a storage seal.
Hmmm.
Anyway- I discovered a few things when I compared the modern and old languages.
First, they are similar. I've found many characters that are related either through shape, sound, meaning, or just general feel. I can't really explain it but they just feel the same. Biwako, my amazing partner, has suggested that it is simply my subconscious picking up something my "failed Explosion Release of a conscious" didn't. (How rude can she be?)
Second, similar they may be but they are not the same. For example when I stumbled upon something vaguely translating to 'The light above the skies' my first thoughts went to space. Maybe even gods since 'above the skies' may translate to the heavens. After some experimentation and examining the context I'm fairly sure it means 'stars'. Or maybe even Auroras since the exact origin of my clan is uncertain.
Third, the language is very weird. I can't even begin to explain it, it's like they used the same language but with another language's grammar and it somehow works.
But as I worked he noticed a lot of things. Like how there are characters that don't fit in the context of the matrix. How there are just random marks that stand alone like the above-mentioned 'The light above the skies' character. It's like… call me crazy but it's like they aren't just fuuinjutsu characters.
Maybe…. Maybe it is a language. A real, bonafide language trying to tell me something.
You can see ink blotches… like the ink brush stopped just above the paper.
After reexamining and cataloging the marks on my chains I came to a startling conclusion.
I realized that I have been doing this wrong. This is a partial seal matrix possibly detailing how to remake to Adamantine Sealing Chains' seal. Perhaps even how they managed to bury it deep in my blood.
While I would be vibrating in my seat at this point I don't. The reason (besides sleep deprivation) is what the other characters are detailing.
What I will be writing down is the culmination of around three months of combined work of Uchiha Biwako (Second child and first daughter of Uchiha Mikoto and Uchiha Fugaku) and me (Uzumaki Naruto, son of Uzumaki Kushina)
The rabbit-eared deity is false! She came not from the lights above the skies but from the darkness! She promised peace but only brought madness!
Fear Ōtsutsuki Kaguya!

There are many beautiful places in this world.
From the buried secrets of Wind to the caverns hiding worlds in Stone. The deep forests of Fire and the endless mountains of Lighting. These examples are but a few of them.
She always wondered what other countries hid behind their borders. What had she not seen yet, what she may never see.
No matter, the Lights of Iron will always hold a special place in her heart.
Auroras painting night skies illuminated by the full moon will forever be etched into her mind. Like silk slow dancing in the wind. The ponds and streams connecting them reflect the green sky.
The snow crunched beneath her feet as she parries attack after attack, the sparks flew every way from where their swords met. The sound echoed off the nearby cave giving an otherworldly feeling. Like a battle between beings older than time.
"It's getting colder and colder." She comments between breaths. The exhalation coming out visibly and formed dense mist around her mouth. Say what you will
"Winter is coming, it is only expected," Sensei's calm voice cuts through the light breeze ruffling their hair. Fighting for half an hour is nothing to him apparently. The black Nichirin katana glinted bluish-green due to the lights.
'I wonder how mine will look.'
"You are distracted Biwako-chan," Sensei sheathes his katana in its scabbard. She blinks before doing the same with Akahime. She proudly glances at the scabbard sitting on her right hip, she hit a growth spurt a month ago so she doesn't need to carry Akahime on her back.
"Sit and tell me what is going through your mind." While she gazed at the proof of her growth he sat down on the edge of the snowy cliff they were fighting on. He swayed his legs over the edge like a child. He lightly pat the snow left of him before swiping it clean to reveal cold stone, "Come one," he noticed her hesitance and laughed, "it's not that cold! Come on, I'll even pinky swear," he grinned as she visible held back rolling her eyes. Still, she acquiesced with his request and sat down.
The silence stretched for a minute as she quickly regained her breath. Her legs dangled into the abyss below them. Looking down she saw endless ice and shadows stretching under. The auroras above did nothing to help her see what may lay at the bottom. Only teased her with shadows dancing on the walls. With the blue ice seemingly glow due to the moon's light.
A sudden weight lands on her shoulder so she glances at it. Checkered Black-and-sea-foam-green haori rests on her shoulders, providing warmth. She looks up at Tanjiro-sensei –who looks weird without his haori- to find him not even looking at her. Instead simply basking in the beauty of this night.
'A brother indeed,' she will forever deny burying into his haori.
"Have I told you how I made my Sun Breathing?"
She looks away from his face and instead stared ahead while humming negatively.
" This will a rather long story then. I hope you don't mind?"
She shook her head before realizing that he probably isn't looking at her, "No sensei."
"You see," Sensei began calmly, "my clan, the Kamado clan, was something like what you Shinobi have. You see, we had a Kekkei Genkai." She whips her head towards him but he seems content to ignore her, "in the most literal sense too." He chuckles slightly but she doesn't think it's out of happiness.
"What kind if I would be allowed to ask?"
"It was simply called Kekkijutsu, Blood Demon Art, fitting for this cursed clan," 'cursed?', " you see, it wasn't us that named it. It was the people we massacred."
The chill forming on her skin is just from the cold. Whether from the environment or his voice is undecided.
"Back then, even before the Hidden Villages, we were warriors. Warriors that knew no bounds. Perhaps you heard of the Kaguya clan?" His face tilted towards her.
"They were savages of the highest degree. Parasites that foolishly attacked Kirigakure. That was their end if I remember correctly."
"Indeed," Sensei acknowledged the answer and looked back towards the horizon, "we were similar to them before settling in Iron around the same time as Kumogakure formed," 'so around three years after Konoha', "but that's not important is it?" Tanjiro-sensei laughed awkwardly and scratched his cheek. He took a deep breath and began his story anew, "We… The clan head back then tried to make things right. Fortune even smiled upon him as no more children with Kekkijutsu were born."
She frowned slightly at that, 'no more Kekkei Genkai is fortune? Idiocy.' Still, she is interested in the story so she doesn't interrupt.
He must have sensed her thoughts as he explained his reasoning, "Kekkitjutsu wasn't like your Sharingan or the Byakugan. It was always only a few every generation that awakened it. But do you know why it was so feared?" A rhetoric question he answers himself," because you couldn't counter it. It was always unique to the person. The only common point was that it involved our blood in some way. Still, after we settled we became a pacifist. None of us took up swords anymore and instead took to the shrines where we worshipped our goddess."
'But?'
"Nevertheless, our enemies were still out there. Waiting for a reason to strike," She looked away in respect when his eyes misted over, "then, then she was born."
"Nezuko-chan?"
"Yes. She awakened it on her tenth birthday," he snorted wetly, "burned my hair too. We did a good job keeping it a secret you know. But alas, every secret will find its way into the sun."
They remained silent, only the wind making a sound. But then, "what happened?"
"They massacred my clan. It was only eight of us left at the time. We were, we were simple priests." His voice rose but deflated in the end into something so vulnerable that Biwako will never bring this up again, "Only me and Nezuko-chan survived."
She is almost afraid to ask anything but squares her shoulder and asks anyway, "What did you do?"
"I took up a katana and swore vengeance."
Another chill rattled her body, 'He is just like-'
"It's not a good thing," his weak voice is gone, replaced by an accepted sort of guilt and sorrow but resolute, "I did it. I massacred them. Every man, woman, child. I twisted my goddess into a vengeful protector whose will I carried out with my sword. After I… finished I promised myself to never fight again," A bitter smile took over his face as he leaned back and looked towards the sky. She didn't mention the tears cascading down his face, "It's ironic, how the only thing remaining of them were ashes. Just like me."
She stopped breathing halfway through. She never felt so cold.
He stared deep into her eyes, tears flowing no more, and asked a simple question.
"What will remain of you?"
"Wassup old man?" She didn't bother knocking when the door she punched did it for her.
A bone-weary sigh, one that she reveled in, greeted her, "are you drunk again Tsunade-chan?"
"Not any more than usual, why you askin'?"
"Because you didn't use the door."
Tsunade looked back at the opening where she came in only to see a very her-shaped hole, and a sweating Shizune, centimeters from the actual door. She shrugged and turned back to a face-palming Third Hokage, "not my fault you have weak-ass walls. Anyway," she plopped down in front of her sensei, "wassup?"
She grins when Hiruzen-sensei's face spasms in frustration before settling into a serious face, "I believe you know why I called you Tsunade-chan." A statement rather than a question.
"I certainly read your letter and I must say you need to stop being a cryptic bastard." She scoffed, "You might piss off-"
"Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Biwako left Konoha."
"…well shit." What else should she say? The old bastard only wrote that she needed to get back or else. Nothing about the last two founding clan members –because in Tsunade's humble fucking opinion Uzumakis are just as important as her clan- just straight up…
"Wait- left?! Not kidnapped?"
The silence that answered her was more than any words could sum up.
It started as a quiet chuckle before she erupted into full-blown laughter and threw her head back. The chair creaked and rocked backward due to the force with which she threw her head back. This went on for a full minute –a minute in which everyone silently stared at her- before she mustered up enough care to try and control it.
"You-" another chuckle escaped her smiling mouth, "I fucking told you. I told you that your stupid ass decisions would come and bite you in the ass," she swiped a laughter tear from her eye as another chuckle escaped her, "I'm so gonna drink to that." She not-so-quietly promised herself.
"Senju Tsunade, using my authority as the Hokage, you will return to active duty." With one sentence he cut through the atmosphere, silenced Tsunade, readied the –anxious- hidden ANBU, and disturbed an already sweating Shizune –curiously Tonton nowhere to be seen.
"What." Her question came out flat as she stared at her old Sensei.
"You will be returning-" he didn't get far as the table he was leaning against was broken in two. And the floor below it caved in slightly. And the building rattled under her fist.
She stared with utter loathing at her former Sensei. Her fists clenched several times as her mind warred with itself on whether to kill him now or later. In the end, the unlikeliest option, to simply leave, won the battle. She turned around, her green haori flapping, and glanced at Shizune before striding out of the room.
"Take," The Third Hokage's voice stopped her before her second step," another step and you will be known as Konoha's fourth greatest traitor." The only sound heard in the room was Shizune's hitched breath and the ANBU's shuffling.
Everyone knows the consequences of her next steps.
She is strong, the strongest Kunoichi in living memory. Being declared as missing-nin wouldn't be anything more than an annoyance to her.
But she is in Konoha's very heart with her back turned to one of the strongest Shinobi ever. Period.
'You can take him on,' a voice sounded in her mind.
And she could. If she released her Creation Rebirth: Strength of a Hundred then she could. The problem is that it would probably kill her in the process due to the amount of injury she would suffer. She makes no mistake of Saru-sensei's voice when she warned her. He is no longer Sarutobi-sensei, he is the Third Hokage at this moment.
Another problem is Shizune. She would die. Simple and expected. A talented medic Shizune may be but she is no warrior.
And the numerous ANBU stationed in the office isn't good news either. She initially disregarded them as simple guards –' rookie mistake, I'm an idiot'- but they are not.
Just from a quick survey, she can name most of them both in-mask and out-mask. Besides one.
'Captain-commander Dragon is here.' That is her second worst enemy. Maybe even the worst since, unlike the small chance that Saru-sensei will hold back, they definitely won't go easy on her. It takes every bit of willpower to hold back a frown.
Hair stand on end as her whole spine feels like ice. The atmosphere that built up in momentum reached its climax as she took in a deep breath and clenched her fists.
She sat back down. The terrified determination rolling of the weaker ANBU and Shizune starts simmering down.
"What do you want me to do." She bit out, wishing to be anywhere but here.
Sensei's face didn't change but relief rolled off him, she suspects he would have slouched slightly if he wasn't under the glare of a furious Tsunade Senju. He straightened out even more than he already was and started listing off orders, "For the first month you will be going to therapy. After that, you will retake your positions as head of Konoha's hospital as well as being a reserve Shinobi."
She blinked out of confusion twice. That's… less than she thought. She redoubled her glare as Sensei seemed like he wanted to slouch, old men like him need to be kept on their toes after all. What if they drop dead due to inactivity? Why would he only… wait-
"So I'm just a scarecrow? Who am I, Kakashi?" She smirked at one of the masked shadows who deadpanned at her.
"In summary. Konoha is spread thin due to several… undesirable factors." Factors that she suspects are named enemy shinobi, "disturbing our troupes. With you back in Konoha word will spread. They won't dare to come any closer." It seems unnatural that anyone can say this without a sadistic smile but Saru-sensei is full of surprises today.
She raised an amused eyebrow, trying to push back the thoughts of 'Oh fuck I'm back in this hellhole'. That particular panic attack can come later, " 'word will spread'? Guess Jiraiya is back for good?"
"Not in this particular moment but otherwise yes. He is searching for Naruto-kun and Biwako-chan."
"How did the brats manage to leave?"
Sensei sigh heavily but there is no mistaking the proud glint in his eyes no matter how hard he tries to hide it, "Hiraishin." He says simply like he didn't just speak bullshit.
Both of her eyebrows shoot up before frowning, "Are you trying to tell me someone revived Minato –or Tobirama-ojisan? That's a tasteless joke sensei."
He shakes his head in amusement, "You got it wrong Tsunade-chan. It was Naruto-kun, and presumably Biwako-chan, who cracked the formula and used it to leave."
She stares at his annoying smile while Shizune quietly giggles at their interaction, "My point stands, that's a bad joke. You can't tell me that a ten-year-old and his girlfriend cracked the Hiraishin. That's like saying a genin recreated my seal."
This time he can't hold back one of his oh-so-familiar proud teacher-style smile, "They are both thirteen and I'm not joking a tad bit," to prove his point he opened a drawer on the half-table. In his hand was an unmistakable kunai, "a week after they brought me this they disappeared in the dead of night. According to them, they found this in the surrounding forest. I believe they used this to either remake Minato's Hiraishin or make their own."
"… well shit." She repeats her earlier words and crosses her arms, "I would wish good luck to you but it would sound fake so I'll just say good for them."
With that she stood up and left the room without glancing back, trusting Shizune to follow her. She has a lot to think about. Just as she left through the hole she created earlier he bid farewell.
"Good luck on your recovery Tsunade-chan."
"Go to hell old man."
'Again.'
Hammer struck the red-hot steel on the anvil taking the rough shape of a katana.
'Again.'
Sparks flew high into the air as he struck it again.
'Again.'
The air around him should feel hot. It should feel as uncomfortable as the first time he set foot in this hellish place of steel and magma.
'Again.'
The sparks burn his arms every time he struck the unfinished blade. He can't wear anything more than some leather apron to hold his equipment and pants for dignity. He'll overheat otherwise.
'Again.'
The sparks reflected on his eyes like the moon on water.
'Again.'
As he struck once again he noticed the blade cooling down. The bright red color cooling into something more oranges. He opened the Heart and put the katana back to temper. He closed the opening quickly due to the sheer heat coming out of it almost burning down his face.
He took a few steps back, without looking away, and sat down on the small wooden stool.
He needs to learn smithing katanas quickly. That damn… whatever that was lit a fire under him three months ago and it doesn't seem to burn out. He needs to make a sword worthy of her. There is no other choice. There has to be a meaning behind the warning they found in his chains. They need to be strong for the coming days. The first step is to forge her the best sword possible.
