VENOM
Season 1
Chapter 2
Origin Part 1- Part 2
It all started back on March 14th of 2018 (my birthday, ha.), 3 years ago.
'Happy birthday, Matt!', says a medium pitch female voice, unmistakably the voice of my then best friend, Lucy Petrovich.
'Hey Lucy, thanks.', I say, insanely tired, I think you know why by now.
She looks at me with a look I know all too well, a look filled with a whole lot of worry, and I knew she was gonna ask if I was okay.
'Um, Matt? Are you okay?' Ding ding, FUCKING DING.
'Yeah, I just stayed up late studying for this test.' She looks like she believes me as much as anyone believes that O.J. didn't murder his wife, but, thank God, she didn't poke any further after that, but I know that, just like every other day, I'll have to keep away from her, just so she doesn't aks me any more questions ab- And I forgot that we have the same classes at the same time today. FUCK.
Well, other than the start, today was going pretty awesome, I aced the test, (and every other class for that matter.), I was able to eat my lunch in peace, and I pretty much thought, th- 'Hey Matt!' Never mind.
You see, the thing is, I don't want anybody to make a big deal about my birthday, so when Lucy comes over with her group of friend's, I didn't even need to look to see them carrying presents, a cake, and- huh, this is unexpected, I expected Jackson to come over and smeer the cake all over my face, or come insult me and tell all the girls got me were clothes like they wear, just so I can be one of them, or just put everyone in such a bad mood that no one would want to celebrate.
But instead, butt nugget's just sitting in his seat, eating his lunch, not even paying attention to me, and now I'm in an extremely bad mood, because whenever that happens, that just means he's gonna do something later, and do something worse, and me and Lucy know it, and apparently, the rest of her friends know it too because they seem about as tense as when two serial killers encounter each other in an alley, and get into a stand off.
'Just ignore him, Matt, we'll make sure he doesn't do anything to you.' Great, yet another thing for him to insult me about.
Still, I try to ignore him and try to enjoy the little party that surrounds me, and they all got me stuff I like, like wrestling action figures, old school madden(thank God), but, of course, Lucy's the biggest chad of all.
'Matt….. I know you like football-'
'Obviously.'
'He he, any-anyways, I didn't know what team you liked so, honestly, I-I just went with my gut, a-and got you …. this.
[HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH] Cue the fireworks folks, Luce just made my whole day, with a single article of clothing.
A Dark blue, number 4, Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys jersey.
{Yeah, I'm a Cowboys fan in real life, so what?}
Anyway, I just stay silent, looking on in total shock, and then I look up, and see her looking down, thinking she got the wrong thing, when she got the perfect present, which almost made me start crying, and it made me think this: 'She likes me, she REALLY like me!'
She was about to put it back in the box she put it in, but I yank it out of her hands, and, almost immediately, put it on the fastest I can, and give the biggest hug I could, saying 'thank you', and just like in every cheesy animated kids movie, she hugs me back.
'I almost thought I got you the wrong thing for a second there, hehe.'
'Of course not, this is the best present I ever got!'
'No it's not, you must have gotten something better before?'
'Hm, nope! Definitely the best present I've ever had!'
She looks at me sadly, once again wanting to ask me if I was okay, but she knew not to ask me at that moment, so she kept quiet, but the others looked like they were insanely high, as they looked like they were in another world, but it was obvious they weren't, because they might as well been burning a hole right through us with how strongly they were staring at us.
After school, Luce asked to talk to me in private, so, when school was over, we went to an alley between the school's main building and the gymnasium, and guess what the first question she asked was? Go on, guess.
'Matt, I know you really don't want to talk about what's going on-'
'Which there isn't, Luce, I get you're worried about me, but I don't know why, there is-'
'Yes, there is.'
Oh boy, she was not happy, and when she gets like this, it usually means doom for me.
'Matthew', Oh boy, 'you are not okay, we BOTH know it, and WE both know that we are not leaving until you tell me the truth, do you understand me?!'
And usually this is where I give in, and I tell her everything, and she usually comfort's me, and she goes to an adult that can help.
But, if you're wondering why I haven't done ANYTHING about my "situation", it's because of two things.
Number UNO: Orphanage's. Yeah, not planning on taking the risk of having a family that's worse than my dad taking me in, and trust me, it'll take a LOT to beat my dad at THAT.
Number 2: Witness protection program. Yeah, no. I am not going through all the bullshit that it will put me through. Plus, it could lead right into the last part of reason one.
So yeah, not happening.
So, there seems to be only two outcomes to this, one, that I'm going to make sure she either accepts my answer, or two, we go into one of our famous fights that lasts for about a week, and we magically make up after a week or two.
But, this moment, it doesn't happen like either of those moments, it goes way off from what I thought was gonna happen, which, now that I think about it, is what pretty much happens for my entire life.
'There isn't anything going on Luce, there isn't, and I don't know why you think there is, but you really need to get your facts straight, because you are way-'
'No, you listen here Matt it's so blatantly obvious that there's something going on with you, and I don't know why you don't tell anybody!? Why do-'
'Because there isn-'
'YES. THERE. IS. MATTHEW. ISAAC. BROCK. YOU ARE NOT FINE, WE BOTH KNOW YOU ARE NOT FINE, AND, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, WE ARE GETTING YOU SOME HELP-'
'FOR WHAT, HUH!? FOR WHAT!? HOW COULD YOU HELP WHEN THERE ISN'T ANYTHING GOING ON, HUH!? HOW WOU-'
'BECAUSE I'VE SEEN YOUR SCARS!'
And this folks, is the true beginning of our story.
'wha-wha-wha-what?'
'YES, I'VE SEEN YOUR SCARS, AND DO YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW I FOUND OUT ABOUT THEM!?'
I stay quiet, basically shaking about as much as a twig in an F5 tornado, with the twig somehow not falling off the tree, and she realizes this, looks regretful, and realizes maybe she should calm down before I start having a mental breakdown.
'(Sigh), It was last week, the first day that the town pool was open, and, really, we are insane, going to the pool, even though it's still barely above freezing temp, then again, we do live in Oklahoma….'
[Flashback]
(It was after one of the last time's I got out of the pool, I accidentally went under, and I headed to the locker room area to dry my hair off.)
(I saw you go into the boys locker room, and I figured I'd play a small joke on you with a little scare.)
(When I turned the corner, I figured I'd hide behind someone, but there was no one in there.)
(So instead, when you went into your locker, I figured I'd hide in a corner of the room, and jump on you.)
(Back then, I never understood why you wore a shirt every time we went to the pool, but, after last week, well, I do now.)
(When you took off your shirt, the sight I saw was horrifying.)
(The skin on your midsection was this horrible shade of purple, and you had bandages all over you, but I could still see them.)
(Those damned scars that litter your body, th-they were absolutely terrifying to see, layered on you, like they'd been there for decades at that point!)
(And when I saw them, I don't know why, but I just stood there, horrified at the image I saw.)
(And, I don't know how, and I don't know why, but you never saw me, not even a glimpse, and you just went about your business, and when you took those bandages off, I never thought I'd see anything that disgusting in my life)
(That one scar, that one damn scar, it basically traumatized me, with how it covered the entirety of the top part of your back, and how it just somehow didn't reach past the bottom of your shoulder blades, and with how it just-just looked like it wanted to cover the rest of your back, I'm basically scarred for life now, and, sadly, that was just one of many that covered your basically irreparable back, with so many more smaller ones covering the rest of it. )
(Somehow, no one came into that locker room at that moment, and when you left through the other side of the locker room, I just stood there for three, maybe four minutes.)
(When I started to move again, I started to move again, I started looking for you, and I was looking in such a frenzied pace, I might as well have been a damn steamroller, because if people didn't move out of the way like they did, I might have actually ran someone over.)
(When I'd found out you were picked up by your dad, I was so damn worried, because at that point, I realiz-)
See, here's the thing, about a quarter of the way through her story, I may or may not have ran away, and got knocked the hell out by Jacksons crew, which was a whole new level from what they normally do.
So when she realized I was gone, it was far too late to do anything for me.
And to be honest, you guys, you probably know more about what she said than I do.
So, when I did wake up, I was already probably so far away from the school that it would take hours, maybe even a couple DAYS to find me, if anyone actually started looking for me.
They threw me onto the ground pretty hard on my back, which made me basically have to bite my tongue not to scream.
And, much to my surprise, Jackson started yelling at those idiots.
'What the hell guys!? I said get him to come here, not beat the crap out of him, and then basically try to break his back, what the hell has been wrong with you guys lately!?'
So, obviously he wanted me in one piece, or as much as I could be?
'Wait, no we didn't, we di-'
'Yes you did, look at him, he's bleeding from the mouth you fucking idiots!'
Was I? Damn, I was, but at least it wasn't a major amount, or else, despite being complete assholes, they weren't about to have a death on their hands, so they'd probably call an ambulance, because unlike me, they know where we are right now, and they had to protect their credibility, or else they'd never get into one of those cushy ivy league school like their parents want.
'Damn it, I can't fight him like this!'
Fight? What?
'Yes, I was gonna fight you dumbass!'
Great, I said that out loud, fuck me man.
'Alright, before this gets even more crazy, might I ask WHY you might want to fight me?'
Jackson sighs in complete disappointment, obviously this is something he really wanted to do.
'I was gonna fight you because really, at this point, we're really, REALLY sick of your ass, and I was gonna knock your ass out to knock you down a peg!'
(Sigh), ain't I been knocked down enough pegs to begin with?
'Whatever, c'mon guys, le-'
'Hold your horses, Jack.'
He turns around with his signature "what" look.
'You wanna fight me, right?'
He was so surprised, that when I said that, he might as well have fallen over, then he got so damn pissed that he nearly threw a punch right there but he held back, realizing that, despite my injuries, I'm still gonna a fight this asshole, and he was gonna get his ass kicked, by me, but sorry ladies, if you thought I was doing this for me, I damn sure wasn't.
I was doing this for Lucy.
See, Luce once told me something that, honestly, I'd never thought I'd do till now, and what she said was this to me:
'Matt, you really need to stand up for yourself sometimes, because if you don't, you're gonna get your ass beat your entire life. I know you're not usually like that, but it's true.'
So, that was tge night that I stood up for myself, and beat his fucking ass!
'C'mon you fucking bitch.'
Sorry for taking so long to update, but the device I'm using to write this stopped working, but it's fixed now, so some more chapters.
So see you in the final part of part 1 of origins, and go grab yourself a cookie.
