Happy coming out day! (October 11th, 2016) And happy reading!

XXXVI. During the Game

WHACK-YOUR-BRAIN FINALS DAY

One Thousand Eyes

One thousand eyes stare at me

as I battle for victory for our team.

A metamorphosis that was but a dream

is now something I can see.

II.

One thousand eyes of brown and blue

stare and feel the mighty, monstrous burn

as I smoke the opponents after each and every turn,

and prove my change to be true.

III.

One thousand hands slap together

reverberating across the vast open gym

in a celebratory fashion all for "him",

for me: the former epitome of stormy weather,

IV.

but now I'm the star,

the head of the show in a smooth, black suit.

I'm seen by my peers as intelligent, strong and cute,

and I show them that I've come so far

V.

from being a psychopath. I'm

the positive vibe in the entire room.

I sweep away the competition like I have a broom,

and race elegantly against time.

VI.

One thousand eyes of brown and blue;

I notice the darkest pair toward the back wall.

Although the owner is quite short, she stands so tall

and it's my soul she gazes into.

VII.

But another lady stands at my right

her eyes, too, a shade of brown.

They're the best thing about the town

as they shine and twinkle so bright.

VIII.

I look at her, and she has a smile

with the prettiest white teeth I've ever seen

with blonde hair as refreshing as trees of green,

with warmth that makes me feel I can run a mile.

IX.

One thousand eyes stare at me

as I win on adrenaline for my team

Repenting my sin is anything but a dream

as they all chant and cheer and fill me with glee.

X.

"Tie Game!" Joe calls, and now we suspend the story

of the soon-to-be victory led by Richard Adam Murray.*

A Letter in Haiku*

Dear Richard Murray,

Aren't you having a great time?

Too bad it won't last.

Here's a fun twist: I decided to entertain you with a little poetry! I haven't been a huge poet fan in the past, but lately I've learned to appreciate it. It's a great challenge to conform to a set of rules while expressing your thoughts. See you at the next installment!

(*)1: Totally made up Rick's middle name! ^-^

(*)2: For those of you who don't know what a Haiku is, it's a type of Japanese style poem with only three verses. The first and third lines can only have five syllables while the middle/second line can contain only seven syllables.
