Chapter 9
(Sorry for the wait on the stories. I've been transitioning to a new job and shift, and I'm finally getting into the swing of things.)
I stood above my slain foe as I stared at my hand in amazement. "It seems that the hardening quirk the doctor told me about somehow affected the sludge quirk fascinating." I wanted to take the time to figure out how it worked, but it would have to wait because I could hear yelling and footsteps heading toward me. I focused on my emotions, channeling my fear so that I teleported onto a fire escape, not too high from where the giant of a man I had just slain lay. I watched as the villains I was hiding from came through and checked on the body before running off in the opposite direction. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"That was a close one. I don't think I would have been able to take all of them at once." I sat down as I looked into the blue sky when suddenly I felt a chin run down my back as I just avoided a knife coming through the wall. I turned around to see a tall thin man with a blood-curdling smile on his thin lips.
"Well, you could tell I was coming through the wall. What a smart boy." He said as his smile turned into a menacing grin as he lunged toward me. I dodged his attack jumping over him and channeled my anger into an all-out fire attack burning him to a crisp. I relaxed for a second, thinking I was in the all-clear, when I heard the steps coming back in my direction.
"Damn, they must have heard the guy scream when I burned him. Come on, Izuku, think about what you do." I scanned my surroundings for a plan when I saw a gas tank sitting at the corner of a building they were about to run in front of. I chuckled softly as I waited for my prey to fall into my trap inevitably. They started to pass the gas tank as I built up the flames and was able to shoot a ball of fire at the tank exploding it and all the villains that were chasing me along with it. I laughed softly as I watched the people die in agony and pain. I focused and teleported to the top of the building to search for the rest of the people in the city.
I saw one man standing alone in the city square, but he looked like he would be the strongest out of everyone. The enemy I had faced before was only a giant of a man; this guy was a literal giant as tall as the buildings. I sat down and took out my notebook, flipping to the pages on Mt. Lady I had taken a few weeks prior. "Let's see, from what I could gather, her weaknesses were she couldn't fit into anything smaller than a two-way street, and she had trouble getting right back up after getting knocked down. It's not much to go on, but it's all I got."
I started to think of what I could do as an idea popped into my head, and I got a devilish smirk on my face. I teleported close to where I had seen the giant and looked around. "Ah, perfect, just what I needed" I ran into an alleyway that went straight to the city square. I slowly peeked around the corner as I saw the giant sitting there, looking around for me. I gathered my courage and shot the hardened spikes into his leg as he yowled in pain.
"I'll destroy whoever did that. I swear you'll die," he said as he looked around until his bloodshot eyes landed right on me.
