It was dark, not even a single source of light.

I couldn't see anything, but I could hear a muffled laughter coming from inside the darkness, getting closer and closer.

A laugh that I will never forget.

"Hello Kathryn," he said, sending a chill down my spine.

"Go away," I shouted, my voice already cracking.

"How dare you speak to me like that? Your mother will be furious when she finds out," he said, laughing hysterically.

I sobbed and cried in fear

"Oh, Kathryn is sad, come here little one, let me kiss it better," he said, stepping out of the darkness, allowing me to see his face.

He wore his casual white shirt and blue jeans, both were covered with bloodstains. His smile wide painted red. His eyes were black, like the darkness around us both.

"Come on Kathryn, I promise I'll make it all better, just come here," he said again and I backed away, only to find myself against a wall.

I tried to phase, but I couldn't.

I started crying even harder when I realized there was no way out.

"I said come here!" He shouted, forcing me to my knees.

He grabbed my chin harshly making me look at him.

"You can't escape me Kathryn, you'll never get away from me, I'll always be here and there's nothing you can do to stop me," he said, letting go of my chin.

"No, you can not, you're dead!" I tried to yell, but only a whisper came out.

He laughed.

"I can," he said, and brought his hand down to my face.

I closed my eyes in fear, waiting for the burning sensation of the slap, but it never came.

I opened my eyes and saw the beige ceiling of my room. I sat up and looked around.

I was dreaming again.

I gasped for air while trying to suppress my sobs so no one could hear them.

I buried my face into the pillow and let it all out.

I haven't had a nightmare since I came to the institute, so it was just a matter of time for them to come back.

I walked inside the kitchen, which was full of people.

Kurt was talking with Scott, Jean was helping Ororo around the kitchen, Logan was reading his newspaper, while the professor was nowhere to be found.

So I just sat down next to Scott and took an apple from the fruit bowl.

"Good morning, Katzchen! You are getting your beauty sleep, I see," he said, referring at me waking up late.

"Morning to you too, fuzzy elf," I said, biting into my apple.

"Good morning, ready for your first day of school?" asked Scott.

"Yeah, I guess so, what could go so wrong on our first day of school," I said and continued eating my apple.

Jean walked over to the table and sat down next to Kurt.

"What about you, Kurt? Are you ready?" she asked and began eating her eggs.

"Yes, I am ready," he said

proudly and stood up.

"No, you're not," I said between laughs.

"What, why?" He whined, looking at me in confusion.

Jean and Scott got my point and smirked at each other.

"Image inducer," Scott said, pointing at Kurt.

"Oh, oops," he said with an awkward smiled and turned it on.

"There, I am ready!" He said even more excited now.

"Come on, guys! Let's go," Scott said, grabbing his convertible keys.

The school wasn't something special, it was just another ordinary school.

We walked inside the principle's assistant office.

The assistant was a blonde woman and had brown eyes, probably in her late forties. She was dressed formally, with a white suit.

"You must be the new students, I am Mary, the assistant, Mrs. Darkholme is already waiting for you in her office with another student in her office," she said in a rush and literally shoving us inside the office.

Nothing could prepare me for what I saw. I froze on the spot and almost dropped my bag in shock.

I blinked, thinking that I might be seeing things, but no, he was standing there staring at me with that vicious smirk of his.

Next to him sat a woman in her late thirties, she wore glasses, had dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Lance Alvers.

"Hello, Kitten," he said, and I felt as if I had lost the ability to speak.

Did he just call me Kitten in front of the principle?

"Ms. Pryde, Mr. Wagner, would you please sit down so I can brief you on our school schedule?" said Principal Darkholme, visibly annoyed.

Kurt sat down next to Lance and I sat down next to Kurt.

The principal started to speak, but I couldn't hear her because I was busy thinking of ways I could kill Lance without being expelled from school.

"You're dismissed," she said, and we all stood up.

Kurt nudged me with his elbow and I gave him a dirty look. He pointed at sheet of paper on the desk, it was my school program.

"Oh," I said as I reached for the paper and gave him an apologetic look.

"You seem a little stressed, Ms. Pryde," she said in a tone I have heard before.

"She's just glad to see me again, Mrs. Darkholme," Lance said, and I gave him a dirty look.

"See him again?" Kurt asked confused.

"Oh yeah, Lance said that you two were close at your old school, so I tried to place you in some classes so you'd have a familiar person in a crowd of strangers," she said in that fake nice voice and my eyes widened even more, if that was even possible.

"Anyway, you can go now, have a nice day," she said, staring at me intently.

We exited the office and I felt his familiar creep on my wrist.

"What do you want?" I said calmly to him not wanting to cause a scene.

"That's how you greet an old friend?" He said grinning and I phased my arm away from his.

"That's how I greet someone who took advantage of me, betrayed my trust and then buried me under rocks," I whispered.

"What?!" Kurt yelled.

"I don't know what's going on here, but I don't like it," Kurt continued.

"Who is he?" asked Lance, annoyed with Kurt.

"Kurt Wagner, who are you?" said Kurt, standing protectively in front of me.

"Look, Kurt, let's just get out of here, no need to make a scene," I whispered and Kurt looked back and forth between me and Lance, he sighed and nodded.

"Let's go," Kurt said.

"Whoa, whoa," Lance said, grabbing my arm again.

"Let me remind you of something, Kitten, you can run away all you want, but we are gonna meet again soon enough," he said, letting go of my arm.

Kurt gave him one last glare and we walked away. I couldn't help but look back at him.

He leaned against the wall and smirked at me.

How the hell did I get myself into this?

School was over and so was my patience.

Lance annoyed me in every class we had together.

Kurt kept asking countless questions and I left most of them unanswered.

When we got home, I locked myself in my room.

I needed to calm down, I needed to be alone before I said or did things I would later regret.

(Third point of view)

Ms. Darkholme was in her office when a knock on the door interrupted her silence.

"Come in," she said coldly. The door opened and Professor Xavier wheeled inside.

"Hello, Raven," he greeted her. She smiled wickedly at him

"Charles! What a pleasure to see you, how come you decided to pay me a visit? " she said, giving him all her attention.

"I wanted to discuss about what you did," the professor said, and she stood up and walked to her window, turning her back to Charles.

"Can you be a little more specific? I did a lot today," she said, pretending not to understand what he was talking about.

"I am talking about Lance Alvers and Kathryn Pryde," he said, stepping closer to her.

"What about them?" She said, turning to face him.

"You are trying to make Kathryn uncomfortable, why?" He said, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, come on, Charles, you know I like to see people suffer," she said, laughing devilishly.

"Not without a reason," he added.

"I have a reason," she said, leaning back in her chair.

"I know that you do, and I am also certain that you know something I don't," he said, and she laughed again.

"I always know something that you, don't Charles, it's just the way it is. Even though you are a telepath, my poor Xavier, you are too naive to really understand how people think," she said and smirked.

"Raven, I need to know, is Kathryn Leah's -" he began, but Raven immediately stopped him.

"You need to leave, get out of here! Get out of my office," she said, obviously shaken up.

Charles didn't push her further, he just walked out, with his questions that he never knew he could find the answers to.
