A long time passed and Anne settled down very well.
She is really enjoyable to have around.
We hit it off the moment she entered the institute, that's why professor suggested we may share the same room.
We totally agreed on it, my room felt empty anyways.
Anne requested us to call her Rogue from now on.
It was kind of hard at the beginning to get used to the new name, but it was her decision and we respected it.
Rogue and I were now hanging out at school, walking down the hallway heading for our lockers.
"You read the novel I lent you?" She asked as we walking.
"Yeah, I loved the ending, that she actually turned into a werewolf herself!" I said and she nodded.
"I loved that part, too, I was looking for Kurt, the previous period, to ask him if he would like me to lend it to him next, but I couldn't find him," she said kind of disappointed
"Oh, I was with him. He left because he had a problem with his watch, if you know what I mean," I said referring to his image inducer.
Before Rogue could respond, I accidentally bumped into someone, and all my books crushed to the floor.
I looked up at the person.
It was Jason from my drama class.
"Oh, I am sorry," I apologized and kneeled down to pick up my books and the posters that had fallen off his hands when we crushed.
"It's alright, let me help," he said and bent down picking up some of my books and his posters.
We finally got up with our stuff settled.
"Thank you," I said with a ghost smile.
"You're welcome!" he said and stood there, he was staring at me and I looked at Rogue, making an expression, like what do I do?
But she only shrugged.
"I am putting up posters for the new school play, The Dracula, we need girls who can sing and dance and I was thinking, that you should totally try out," he said taking me by surprise.
"I don't know," I answered, but really, I don't think I want to go back on stage, my show days were over.
"Oh, come on Kathryn, it would be a shame if a beautiful girl like you didn't show up on stage," he said flattering me, I blushed a bit.
"I'll think about it," I said and he nodded finally walking away.
"So, are you gonna do it?" Rogue asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh no, no, I am not " I said not looking at her.
"I knew it!" She said smirking and I looked at her taken aback.
"Excuse me?" I said in confusion.
"You can't do it," she said getting close to my face challenging me.
"What do you mean?" I spoke more aggressively now.
"I am saying that you don't want to try out because you can't dance or sing like Jason asked you to, and that's why you denied his proposal," she said still smirking.
"May I remind you that I worked as an acrobat my whole life?" I said, feeling sudden confidence taking over me.
"An acrobat is a different thing and let me remind you were an acrobat, maybe you aren't as good as you used to be," she said, emphasizing on the word were.
"At least I have a chance to get the role, unlike you," I said getting on her face challenging her same way she did with me.
"Think about it, Kath, I was born for this role," she said confidently.
We kept eye contact for a while but soon I broke it because I heard a clicking sound coming from the other end of the hallway.
My eyes fell on Evan, who had a camera in his hand.
"What the hell do you think you are doing?" I asked angrily.
"Were you recordings us?" Rogue asked just as mad as me.
"It's cool. I am just doing a project for Ms. Bee's class," he explained and I relaxed slightly.
"I better not see my face in that video because they are gonna be calling you Spykeless," she said and I nodded grinning.
Evan was smiling uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his neck.
I bet we are already on that video and he is afraid of our reaction, but anyways.
"Yeah, don't worry about it, so you two are trying out for this?" He asked pointing to one of the posters of the play.
"I am," I said smirking at Rogue.
"Me too" she said smirking at me as well.
Meaning,
Challenge accepted.
-Time Skip-
School was finally over.
Me and Logan arranged a training session at the Institute's garden, dressed up in uniforms and everything.
"Ok, Half-pint, we are doing Level 7, are you ready?" He said and I placed an arrow on my bow.
"Yes, sir!" I yelled saluting him and he laughed a little.
"Alright! Let's go!" He said and we started the run.
We were actually fighting against the mansion's safety weapons equipment, it was pretty easy, you just avoid the attacks and at my case phasing.
One of the weapons started throwing time-bombs, like 20 of them.
Logan succeeded on avoiding them.
Now it was my turn.
I ducked to avoid a few of them and phased through the others.
Logan was way ahead of me and I kept running after him.
I saw another three time-bombs heading my way, so I grabbed three arrows from my quiver, and I shot them all together, hitting the bombs at the same time causing them to explode in the air.
"Yes!" I cheered to myself and finally sped up to reach Logan.
A net was heading towards him from behind.
"Watch your back!" I screamed trying to be heard through all this noise.
He turned and tore the net in pieces with his claws.
He nodded to me and we began running together the rest of the race.
Two bombs were coming our way, but I noticed them too late to shoot them with my bow.
They were about to land on mine and Logan's feet, but he took action and bent down and sliced them in half, making them explode slightly.
"Now that's what I call reality TV," I heard Evan say from behind.
Me and Logan turned to him, he was riding his skateboard inside the training session recording with his camera.
I was about to yell at him, but something else caught my eye, one of the weapons was aiming at Evan, ready to throw blades.
Wolverine noticed as well and ran to Evan.
I followed close behind.
"Kid! Look out!" Wolverine screamed as the machine released the blades.
Logan pushed Evan out of the way and shielded them with his metallic claws.
Logan's claws made collided with the blades and they flew all over the garden.
The first one sliced the head of a female statue that Professor had at the garden.
The second one got stuck on a tree, missing Kurt's head by inches, who was sitting on the tree.
"Dude! I almost got my head sliced! " Kurt complained as he teleported next to me.
Logan forced Evan on his feet, obviously mad.
"What do you think you are doing here, bub?! This thing could have taken your empty head right off!" Logan yelled, knocking on Evan head.
"I was just trying-," he was cut off by Logan taking the camera out of his hands.
"Give me that thing," Logan said, deleting the scene Evan had just recorded.
"Why did you do that?!" Evan whined.
"Let's just say, you got on my bad side, what else you got on this machine?"
Logan said and checked its content.
Kurt and I were just staring, the camera showing the institute, but that part was unexpectedly cut off when Sabretooth appeared on the screen.
"Nice of you to show me where Logan is, kid. I own you one," Sabretooth said roaring at the last part, and Logan's eyes widened.
My hand moved up to my scar.
He seriously scared me for life, literally.
Kurt and Evan were confused as they didn't recognize the person on the screen.
"Who the heck was that?" Kurt asked pointing at the camera.
"I have no idea," Evan said and Logan gave him back the camera.
"Sabretooth," Logan said in anger.
Out of nowhere, the sirens of the institute turned on.
"He is here," Logan said and everyone got out of the house ready to fight.
Sabretooth broke the gate down and ran inside the school's yard, straight to Wolverine.
He faced the security weapons with no problem and before we knew it, he was standing in front of us.
"Not bad, Logan, but not good enough," Sabretooth yelled and I shot an arrow at his stomach.
I knew that didn't work the last time, but I could at least try.
He screamed and pulled it out, and he looked at my direction smirking.
"Stay out of this!" Logan yelled at me as he run to Sabretooth.
"It's all my fault, what have I done," Evan panicked and started regretting his actions. .
"No, this isn't the place for your private war!" Storm shouted and shot lighting at Sabretooth.
Sabretooth fell to the ground, he couldn't take the repeated attacks of storm and ran.
"This isn't over Logan! " He yelled again.
Anger took over Logan, who chased Sabretooth out of the mansion and into the forest that was between the mansion and the town.
I was about to run after them but Scott grabbed my shoulder, gently stopping me.
"What are you doing?" I asked, kind of mad he wouldn't let go help Logan .
"I think Logan won't be happy if you followed him, if any of us followed him. But since you have a history with the guy, I believe is better for you to stay here" Scott said and I shoved his hand away from me.
"We can't leave him alone!" I protested but Storm blocked my way.
"Kathryn, don't worry, Logan's knows to handle himself, trust me," she said and I glared at her and then at Scott.
"Have your teammates back they say," I muttered to myself and walked inside not sparing them another look.
Am I overreacting?
Being oversensitive?
Maybe.
-Time Skip-
I was in my room, hiding from the world again.
I was currently sitting down the floor with my back against the wall.
Logan came back home safe, but couldn't find Sabretooth.
Was I overreacting with Scott and Storm? I mean Logan knows how to handle himself, but that doesn't mean he can't have a bad moment in battle.
Why do I even worry that much.
This is Wolverine, he has healing, a skeleton made of Adamantium and 6 sharp claws to protect himself with.
And Sabretooth isn't much of a threat, or is he?
I thought and hugged my knees.
I suddenly saw Rogue open the door and enter the room.
"Hey," she greeted
"Hi," I said standing up from the floor and sat on my bed instead.
"What are you doing?" She asked, pointing at my bed.
"Erm, well nothing," I said, not really doing anything.
"Exactly! Why aren't you practicing?" She said and I face palmed.
Shoot! I totally forgot about that.
We were supposed to practice the dance for the try outs.
But really, I wasn't in the mood right now.
"I don't really want to, at least not right now," I said and laid fully on my bed.
"You quit?" She said with raised eyebrow and a smirk on her face.
"What?! No! " I yelled and stood up from my bed.
"Then What are you doing?!" She yelled back getting into my face.
Somebody knocked on the door.
"What! " We both shouted in sync.
The door opened and Evan walked inside.
"What do you want?!" Me and Rogue shouted together again, which took us both by surprise.
"Do you think you can stop arguing long enough to help me do something important?" he asked entering the room and closing the door behind him.
"Like what?" Rogue asked, eyeing Evan, not really expecting his important thingy was actually important.
"I will explain later. We just need to go for a little ride," he said and I immediately understood what the Spyke had planned.
"Whoa, whoa, outside the school," I said protesting.
"The professor ordered no one to get out because of Sabretooth " Rogue said making Evan look everywhere but us.
"I am, well, this is kind of the point," he said rubbing the back of his neck like he always did when he felt nervous.
"So, you want someone stupid enough to walk out of the mansion, so you can drag Sabretooth out of his hiding place, and actually beat him, so that Charles and Logan forgive you for leading him here," I concluded, speaking sternly and he kept rubbing the back of his neck.
"Erm, yes, no, well, yes. Are you in?" He asked hopefully.
I turned to Rogue with a raised eyebrow to ask her what she thinks only to find her looking the same way back at me.
I gave her a nod and she nodded back.
We turned back to Evan
"So, you mean if we want to risk our lives for you to feel better?" Rogue finally asked.
Evan didn't say anything only looked at the ground disappointed.
"We are in," Rogue and I said together, smirking at him.
"You are?! You girls are amazing! Thank you!" He said excitedly and embraced us both in a group hug.
"Come on, let's go," Rogue said.
We walked to the garage and Rogue and I ended up taking the bicycles, while Evan rode on his skateboard.
Sabretooth, here we come!
