after a war a kind soldier (Alastor) in the middle of the battlefield sitting near a tree found himself desperate for a solution because he didn't have a penny, that's when a demon in a green suit (Seviathan) appear in front of him, with rifle in hand the soldier aim at the stranger who show faked fear, the demon then said to the soldier that he had an offer for him to give him all the money he could want but the soldier didn't believe the demon's word but considering his situation he couldn't say no to such an offer, but before doing the deal the demon wanted to prove the soldier's courage. at moment a ferocious bear appear in front of the soldier, after a short battle the soldier defeat the bear which turn into a skin cape then the demon said that he was impressed with soldier courage that at that he wanted to do the deal, it was a rather simple deal with some conditions to be fulfill: the deal was the soldier will travel for seven long years for the country while using the clothes given by the demon and using the bear's skin as a cape and return to that same tree, the conditions were that the soldier couldn't take the bear skin not even while sleeping, he couldn't clean himself (this include shaving, bathing and cutting his nail) and couldn't pray to god (that part is irrelevant) for seven whole years, the demon also give a little gift to the soldier he gave him his green suit and said to him as as long he has suit on it he could have all the money could need in the seven years term just by reaching to it's pockets.
if the soldier couldn't make it through the seven years then his soul will belong to the demon but if the soldier could make it through the seven years then he will have all the money he could ever wished for and then both the demon and the soldier seal the deal with a handshake. in his first year the soldier under the name of bear's skin for its skin his appearance was rather normal. from the second and on his appearance change to a monstrous one, everyone run from him but Bear's skin was kind enough to help the people who didn't have anything just for favor of praying for him so that he wouldn't die and also telling them that for certain reasons he couldn't pray for himself.
in the fourth year of traveling bear's skin found lodging in a hostal after giving the owner two gold coins after he didn't let him in (because of the smell and the appearance), in his room the bear found himself desperate again because he couldn't travel more for another three years, near the window and outside the building the demon appear laughing at the man's sorrow, after a few moments the bear heard a noise in the room next to his so he decided to investigate, that's when he found a rich man (Lucifer) about to hang himself and that's when the bear decided to intervene by helping the man (startling him by accident). after some time bear's skin asked the man why he would want to kill himself, then the man told a story that own maritime trading company a rather successful one but one day the ship of the company sank in a storm and with it a lot of money from the man invested in fabrics, sugar and much more. after that the man said something that caught the bear attention he said that he was worried of what it will of his three daughters at that moment the bear decide to help the man, the man was so grateful that he decided to give bear's skin one of his daughters in marriage.
in the morning the man and the bear arrived to the man's manor the first to enter was the man who was received by his daughters: the older (Katie Killjoy), the second (probably Helsa) and youngest who was the light of his eyes (Charlotte) then the man tell them about his helper and about the arrange for one of them to marry him. when the bear came the room the three girls were startled by appearance, the two oldest daughters didn't like the idea to be married to a beast so they decided to leave but the youngest saw that in spite of his appearance he was a kind and gentile man so she decided to marry him which cause the bear to show a smile (the hair would come in the way but still he was happy to hear that) at moment of leaving the bear took a ring he had in his persona to break it in two halves giving of the halves to his beloved as a promise to wait for him during the three years he would have to travel and also asked her that if he didn't make it through the three years to married someone else but the lady promise to wait and pray for him everyday until he would come for her.
for three years both of them will have to endure what life throws at them (this means that the lady will to endure the mock of her sisters while waiting for her beloved and bear skin being treated as a beast) and after seven long years the soldier return where he make the deal with the demon, the demon unsatisfied for losing the bet told soldier to take off the bear skin and then the devil washed and cleaned the soldier as best as he could (this also includes shave him and cutting his nails) and then demon said to the soldier that if he reaches to his pockets he will have all the money he could wish for. after some days the soldier now dressed up as a noble gentleman came to the rich man's house when he ask for the hand of one his daughters in marriage, the two oldest were enthusiastic about the idea of marrying a handsome and rich noble but the youngest was not in the mood to see another man, the noble then said that he is looking for the woman who has the other half of his ring. at that moment the family recognize the man as bear's skin, the joy in youngest sister was so that her father couldn't help but cry of happiness her sister on the other hand felt an outrageous rage because of the fact that same man who they disagree to married three years ago is the same handsome and noble man who is now marrying her sister and for that the oldest hang herself and the second daughter throw herself to a dwell to die. at the wedding night the soldier receive a visit from the demon who was happy because even if lost one soul he did get two for the one he lost and for that he wanted to thank the soldier by giving him as a wedding present a happy and beautiful life with his wife. so they lived happily ever after.
