Stargate Command
Ever since the alert went out, everything within a ten mile radius around Cheyenne Mountain is alive with military hardware for both ground and air defense systems and within the perimeter defense are four Hannibal-class land battleships with their compliments of mobile suits and one X1-Destroy position at its four corners and are ready to defend NORAD Base at all cost.
Also, circling above are squadrons of F-302A stealth fighters interceptors that replaced the first F-302 where it replaced the inferior F-7D Spearhead of the former Earth Alliance. The F-302 are a far more reliable fighter primarily built to combat Goa'uld Death Gliders offworld is now deployed on Earth.
The F-302A is a step above its predecessors which it finally uses the reverse engineered Goa'uld Death Gliders technology and yet very different, as it is the only fighter with hyperspace jump capability.
As SGC importance grew and grew thru the years, it began to expand its operation, digging out more underground levels that now crisscrosses underneath the mountain and with the introduction of Tok'ra tunneling crystals that made SGC the next Joshua base with high speed mag lev tunnel systems connected to other bases all across the North America.
Now ever since the alert went up four days ago, the underground bases started to fill up with tens of thousands of evacuees who found themselves being suddenly ring transported from their bomb shelters and then hastily shove towards mag lev cars and then going thru the stargate.
General Hammond and his people are taking shifts every six hours as not to exhaust everyone except for the Stargate and its been operational twenty-four-seven nonstop, making sure that more people will get offworld safely as possible.
The General watches mag lev cars filled with thousands of people from across the country, pass thru the Stargate bringing with them whatever possessions they can carry to the new world where they will be safe. The General found this sight rather depressing and yet a need to save as many people as possible but he sees that too many people are coming in.
'This is high above the number expected,' the General said as he look at his hand tablet pc and sees that there are less people coming into SGC than expected. He looks to several of his assistants mainly, Chief Master Sergeant Walter Harriman
"Walter, why is the number of people is higher than estimated?" the General asks
"General, many of the evacuees have been diverted to us sir…because of a glitch"
"A glitch?"
"Yes sir" Walter swallowed before he began "several of the ring transporters supposedly sending people to New Manhattan is sending them to us instead and it's the same problem they have at CONR, (COntinental NORAD Region) at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida" he reported,
"We are getting the bulk of the evacuees instead of New Manhattan and would be lucky if we reach half of our estimate before the enemy arrives"
"Dammit!" the General cursed at the report he receive as nothing seems ever go as planned, which seems to be the norm around SGC. But as always, when something like this happens, they do the usual and that they follow procedures and if those fail…they wing it.
"Follow procedures" he ordered "This maybe the only window of opportunity we have to get as many people offworld as possible without Anubis tracking their location" he said
"We need keep everyone moving as possible as long as possible"
"Yes sir" said in chorus
"I'll be up at NORAD Walter, call me when you need me"
"Sir!"
Above SGC is NORAD command and control center, and the military personnel there are also working equally hard, coordinating the AF air defense in every city, while AF soldiers that's been deployed have help kept law and order with the local authorities.
Only once did the Atlantic Federation ordered a mass-mobilization of troops and that was four years ago. That time alarms the other countries on Earth and in space as the Atlantic Federation once threatened apocalyptic retaliation before as it got gotten fed up being of pushed around by the other powers.
The aftermath of the Second Valentine War saw the suppression of the AF reconstruction efforts and afterwards, tried to stipend their growth thru economic sabotage of all forms.
Four years after the almost near nuclear exchange and still most people across the world are still weary of the AF threat of Mutually Assured Destruction or MAD if the other powers don't back off and let them live in peace.
The world back off and gave the AF some breathing room while public fears and worries forced other governments to make an effort to have good relations with the AF for peaceful coexistence. And so begins the mending fences, building bridges thru diplomacy, bringing back business and financial support and fair trade to the AF.
During the four years, the world saw the phoenix like resurrection of the Atlantic Federation fueled by new technology and sciences, access to new territories with abundant resources and opportunity for wealth.
The neutral countries not hostile to the AF were the first to benefit in the expansion of the space industry, especially Orb which it benefited tremendously. The summit in Hawaii was supposed to further open all avenues of diplomacy, trade and commerce, resource and technology sharing and others.
Many hope that this will be the beginning of a lasting peace, that is until an abrupt end of an important summit of leaders and then the AF Military suddenly went into defcon two, and the people fearfully started asking what has happen to become like this again.
In a public broadcasting channel, government spokespersons advise the public that they should remain calm, and that the global military alert is by no means, directed against any nation or government on Earth or in Space.
Though not everyone is convince at this, they do see an odd sight of cooperation and coordination between militaries, and despite tensions still abound, it is a pretty rare sight to see them not aiming their beam weapons at each other.
There are suspicion that something else was wrong when they see Zaft warships patrolling their side of the border and close proximity with AF Star Forces ships, and who are aggressively patrolling the space lanes together in fleets of warships though they keep their distance with each other but kept on watching deep space as if they were waiting.
General Hammond look thru a report from a long-range cloak ship near Anubis territory, and they are there listening to Anubis communications especially the secret Tok'ra communication line and what they hear they reported to SGC and to General Hammond.
Meanwhile at New Artemis Base
Arrived five days ago, the Archangel, the Eternal and the Kusanagi along with the rebuilt Zaft flagship the Minerva, all famous ships of the Bloody Valentine Wars are getting some modifications from the Star Forces.
Three ships that formed Terminal and one Zaft ship, have arrived. A day after the worldwide alert went up; the Atlantic Federation President Henry Hayes called on Lady Cagalli of Orb to request for assistance in the form of MS pilots, specifically…ace pilots.
Lacus, is onboard the Eternal watching the cavernous space dock at the ship's bridge and see one of the new Nimitz class ships, the Midway heading into deep space to join with the gathering fleet outside Artemis. Meanwhile, groups of Star Forces engineers and technicians are working all around the Eternal, installing Goa'uld shield projectors with its own power supply and according to the engineers, this new version can shrug off a direct hit from a 1,000 megaton nuke or beam weapons with similar power. Also, they replace several beam weapon, missiles and an advance sensor grid and targeting system.
The technological advances the Star Forces has in their possession were leaps and bound which is the result of the Stargate influence. This was wondrous and worrisome, as this was only the tip of the iceberg. What was being shared of course is very important if you plan to go up against aliens with similar if not higher tech and weaponry, especially mobile suits.
That idea is disturbing as it is shocking and to have Gundams with alien tech been deployed against them is a nightmare.

"A while back, Stargate Command was able to destroy one of Ba'al arms manufacturing planets, the ones that mass produced high end weaponry and mobile suits and there we found that Ba'al has started manufacturing hundreds of G-Weapons or Gundams based MS and in particular, the ZGMF-X series" he said
"Despite the success of the operation, we believe that there are other factories still producing mobile suits somewhere… we are still looking but if they producing Gundams, then we are in serious trouble"
Gundams are the high-end technology mobile suits and if Ba'al built Gundams with alien technology incorporated into them, then they could be a lot more formidable than the ones built by human hands.
The request by the AF president is rare and worrisome, namely he never once asks for military assistance, not ever.
"We have our own G-Weapons units but not enough well trained pilots capable of going toe-to-toe with Gundams of this caliber…so with reluctance… we are asking you for assistance, namely pilots with G-Weapon experience. As many as you can spare to fly our Gundams to fight against Gundams"

They got to New Artemis as soon as possible and while their ships are being modified with advance tech, Kira, Murrue, Mu, and Dr. Erica Simmons were brought to a massive zero-g hanger bay where the Star Forces mobile suit pens are located as well as their prize machines.
In one of their operations against Anubis, SGC with the help of the Tok'ra and Free Jaffa army, the raided Ba'al arms manufacturing planets, they pilfered the whole base, taking everything not bolted down and those that they can't take they left it and afterwards, they atomize the whole facility with a super nuke leaving nothing to indicate that the facility was ransack first.
Though Anubis suspected it was the Tau'ri doing, he has no idea if they had taken anything of value but can guess that they took Gundams MS which he's right

Facing the ZGMF-X series are ten new Earth Alliance GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundams built with alien technology that SGC gained over the years. In addition, there are also a number of optional components, munitions and add-ons for the mobile suits.
A scientist/engineer named Dr. Bill Lee,explains what they have especially to Dr. Erica Simmons the chief engineer of Morgenroete
"With the exception of the Destroys, everything here was taken from one of Ba'al manufacturing planet and all of it are brand spanking new with all the alien gizmo Ba'al installed in them with the exception of a cockpit" he said with an excitement in his voice
"What about the cockpit?" Dr. Simmons asks curious and Lee answered
"There is none, all of his mobile suits are piloted by his Kull warriors, surgically installed as a form organic CPU, like Blue Cosmos Extended program only this is a whole new level"
Right then, technicians at another part of the base have brought in two METEORs (Mobile suit Embedded Tactical EnfORcer)
"Those are the two METEORs units for Freedom and the Justice, however this is something very new and very different," he said
"How different are they to ours Dr. Lee?" Kira asks as he floated towards one the units and as he was about to grab hold on to one them, his hands just went thru and so as the rest of him.
"What the, HEY-" Kira was dumbfounded when he literally pass thru it like a ghost and nearly collided into a stack of shield breakers if not for one of the tech guys got a hold of him by the collar and pulled him away
"I gotcha buddy"
"Thanks! Uhmn what the hell, what just happened, I mean my hand-and I just-?" Kira and the others were flabbergasted to see what happen as Dr. Lee explained
"According to the files we took from Ba'al, he installed a last minute add-on, a Tollanian phase thru matter technology" Dr. Lee answered with excitement "with that thing on, no bullets, beam weapons or missile could shoot that down or your mobile suit, you are literally untouchable for as long as the power source holds up. And, if it fails, there is the positron shield projector to deflect battle damage torture within 50 feet around the meteor"
"Now that is impressive," Dr. Erica Simmons mutters in awe as do most of her Morgenroete engineers are also saying in mind 'WTF is this shit' on all the advance techs they are being exposed to and some of them are even drooling around like a hungry dog in a meat shop.
Dr. Lee continued on "Ba'al's technicians hasn't installed any recall system, self-destruct or even the basic OS which is good for us because we can install our own OS without fear of 'ahem' blowing ourselves up in the process" Dr. Lee said as he hand over a tablet to Erica
"Would you do the honors of installing the new OS Dr. Simmons?" Erica smiled as he looks thru the information on the new mobile suits
"I would be honored, thank you and call me Erica"
"Better finish getting these suits ready Dr. Lee and Dr. Simmons" floating towards them is General Francis Maynard
"Captain Ramius, I suggest you get your pilots get familiar with their new machines and fast because we don't have much time"
"What's going on General?" she asks but she can see in the grim expression on the general that it was not good news
"SGC just got word from our Tok'ra allies" the General starts "Anubis Armada just left Tartarus three days ago," he said causing a feeling of dread from everyone
"They will be here in four days tops"
Everyone was silent and frustrated when they all heard that because once again, their enemy moves a step ahead of them once more. The others started cursing on not getting any break for many were wishing that, for once, they could get ahead of Anubis.
"What mobile colonies we can send away from here until four days will be sent away as soon as possible; right now I need every commander in the operations briefing room in ten minutes!"
Later at the Briefing Room
"The majority of Anubis new fleet have not been modified with the new technologies, meaning we may have a very slim chance against them," General Maynard told them
"As of now we have begun installing a number of technology to the older ships in the fleet, like ships sensors and beam weapons modifications which are easy to install including shield generators to give them fighting chance. For Terminal ships and Orb ships, they will be given AFSF armaments and will be carrying heavy ordinance with shield frequency modulators or SFM, and these ordinance designed to bring down standard Goa'uld shields for you to exploit"
General Maynard explained further "The ordinance you will have however, are useless against Anubis upgraded ships so don't go attacking them" he said
"Sir, how do we know which ships have the upgraded tech?"
"Dr. Lee" General Maynard pass the question to Dr. Lee and he stood up to explain
"The new sensors packages are capable of detecting shield power variance, where standard shield power is capable of withstanding a thousand megaton yield or more, however an upgraded Anubis ships can withstand that yield but magnified even higher than a thousand meg's …we are talking about a gigatons or more"
"…or more" a member of Terminal stuttered in disbelief at the impressive strength of such an energy shield with an equally impressive power plant powering it.
"Now remember that the modifications on your ships are just that and not full pledge upgrades and yet you will act as both the spearheads and AWACS to guide the rest of the fleet on who you will pour hot lead into and who you will avoid like a damn plague"
"Excuse me General Maynard, Sir" Waltfeld stood up and called for his attention and the general look to him
"Yes Colonel Waltfeld, do you have a question"
"Sir, the ordinance manifest shows that the Archangel and the Eternal are being loaded with different types of missile and some I don't recognize the name"
"The Archangel is being loaded up with 20 of the new anti-ship Naquadriah type missiles with anti-shield tip" The General answered "the Eternal will carry Naquadah tip missiles to replace its standard load, and though they are not as powerful as the Naquadriah on the Archangel, it is far more numerous and more than capable of breaking thru Anubis shield with multiple hits"
"What's Naquadah and Naquadriah?"
"It is an element more powerful than plutonium or H-3, well over several thousand times in magnitude and the key to all of Star Forces technology, so be mindful in firing them too close to Earth for just one stray shot could boil the planet atmosphere in seconds if you make a mistake just once"
"General Maynard Sir, you are loading my ship with that kind of firepower!?" said Captain Ramius who very much dislike the idea of having his ship carrying ordinance with such absurd yield.
"Believe me captain, the Star Force don't want to give you anything that can be used against us, especially our ordinance. But your ships are front line vessel and your current ordinance to date are pea shooters compared to the alien races that throws around, but if you are uncomfortable to have them then we will gladly remove them, and see how long you will last out there without it"
Captain Ramius wishes to argue but stop herself and sat back, meanwhile current captain of the Minerva, Yzak Joule notice that there was no mention of receiving any nukes for the Minerva
"Hey! How come the Minerva isn't receiving any of these nukes of yours?" Yzak asks with little show of respect to Maynard rank which tick the man off
Ezalia Joule who is also present at the meeting, heard his son and groan at the lack of respect to the General
"Yeah right, like were going to trust Zaft with our nuke, dream on bub" sarcastically remark from among the crowd of AFSF officers and then mutters to officer by his side who happens to Kira saying "geez the guy is like a whiny little brat, how the hell you put up with that guy anyway?" Kira of course didn't say anything but shrug his shoulders and Yzak pretty much heard the officer's remark about him
"Why you son of a-" before Yzak could finish his sentence General got his attention
"Captain Joule!" Maynard called him loudly "let me remind you that Zaft is not technically invited to come here" General Maynard said with a scolding voice "you are here because of Orb vouching for your presence here, but if you want to leave, you can leave. No one will stop you"
"I – I understand… General Maynard, Sir!" Yzak answered Maynard with a bit an of a growling
"Yzak calm down" Dearka muttered as he talks down his friend
Maynard ignore Yzak growling and said "Good, for you and that Zaft battlegroup out there are here as the Orb Fleet Kusanagi battlegroup reinforcements and under their command and not ours" Maynard told him
Then Maynard told everyone the real reason why they are here "To all our guest, you being here and being given and fitted with tech and gizmo and new suits is all and good… but we are just a delaying force as we are not entertaining the idea of a possible victory against Anubis"
And gravely he said "This place is the last line of defense and we will hold this line as long as we can so that more people can be evacuated from Earth to friendly space… this is why WE are here"
Outside New Artemis Base
The hyperspace jump of another modified O'Neill class mobile space colony was the first to leave the sol system, after stuffing the colony full of people, equipment and supplies as they head for point unknown, and this will be repeated again a couple of hours later, as another space colony move out and went into hyperspace.
The Space around New Artemis Base were becoming empty of space habitats, a clear sign of the Star Forces years of preparation for the worst whether the threat is foreign or domestic, and as space colonies were disappearing, what remains are orbital habitats turned heavily armed fortress now being positioning above North America and linking positron barriers like 'The Umbrella of Artemis' for the sole purpose of protecting their homeland.
As this was going on at New Manhattan, events at the Plants made a turn for the worst as the senior command of Zaft took control of the Plants colonies.
The White House Washington DC
"They did what, at a time like this!" the AF president yelled angrily at the news he just received
When a group of AFSF ships carrying members of the Corp of Engineers and Plants delegates arrive at the Plants, there was a strange delay to allow the AFSF to disembark and there was a reason for it.
"A Coup!"
"Yes sir," the secretary of state confirms "several senior commanders of Zaft high command took control of the government and placed the colonies under martial law" says the secretary of state and she continues on "the moment the Plants Supreme Council member's returns to the Plants, senior members of Zaft High Command and their supporters, immediately placed them all under arrest and placed the Plants in complete lockdown"
"What about the teams of SFCE we sent to install the hyperdrive on their colonies?"
(The SFCE or Star Forces Corps of Engineers are the builders of many military and civil works both on Earth and Offworld bases much like its predecessor the US Army Corps of Engineers. They also assists SGC in installing advance technology where many engineers in the corps have become quite knowledgeable in many advance technology)
"Our ships bugged out quick when they see Zaft ships trying to encircle them, unfortunately a few of our people in the, namely our ambassador, his staff and the few diplomats, several Star Forces officers and Marines have barricaded themselves in the embassy"
The president slam his fist on the desk and started cursing "Shit! Why is it always one thing after another" he said complaining as the AF Intelligence director Jack Ryan step forward
"Sir our contacts at the Plants reported that many in Zaft are unconvinced and that we are I quote 'plotting an elaborate Blue Cosmos trap to kill all coordinators' unquote" he said with a bit of sarcasm
The president just snorted "like we could have done all of that years ago if we really wanted to, (which we don't) and they wouldn't know what hit them" the president groans in the headache he keeps getting as he sits down
"They are not worth it, and no sane man would want that kind of blood in their hands" the president remark
"We are guessing that they are still weary of us Mr. President, not after what we put them thru four years ago" Ryan said
"We did that threat because we were sick and tired of being pushed around, so we push back…no matter the consequences for us Ryan," the president mutters
"If they don't want to believe us, fine then" the president said solemnly and then calmly made a decision "Alright…We can't waste any more time as it is, leave them they are not worth it" the president ordered
"Get the corps of engineers back to New Artemis and evacuate them with the rest of their families onboard the Jupiter Explorers"
"Sir, what about our people at the Plants embassy?" the secretary of state asks and the president turn to face General Hammond at a tv screen via video call connected to SGC
"George, send the closes ship we have to the Plants and beam our people out of the embassy" the president ordered and Hammond nodded
"The Enterprise is the closest ship in the area and she's equip with both cloaking and Asgard beaming technology" General Hammond said "they can get our people out with no problem"
"Do it then, and don't take anyone else as we can't waste any more time" the president said and then closed the video call and turn to his intelligence director "Ryan, tell your contacts to get out of Dodge while they still can"
"Yes sir" Ryan responded
"Mr. President…what about the people at the Plants, we could save a few…" the secretary of state was asking but the president already know what was on her mind
"No" was the president answer to that
The president took a moment and then said flatly "we have so little time to waste, so to save as many as we can… we must let the rest of them die"
As much as the secretary of state wanted to argue she reluctantly agreed that they have no more time to waste "…yes sir"
The President then went to lift a receiver of a video phone at his table and open a private line to New Artemis to a certain individual who is taking command of the fleet "Francis, did you hear what just happened at the Plants…yeah, detain the Zaft contingent… send them home"
New Artemis Base
News about Zaft arresting the Plants Supreme Council and placing the Plants colonies under martial law was a shock to everyone especially among the members of Zaft's contingent. Soon members of Zaft were detained and their ships seized and immediately, all of the advance tech the SF have installed on their ships were removed and Zaft was sent home soon afterwards.
Fleets of warships from both sides that patrolled space have parted ways and as Zaft ships head back to their respective bases they AFSF ships went subluminal speed the moment they were out of range of Zaft radar and headed for a staging area somewhere in the outer systems of sol.

Seeing the Zaft contingent leave was a depressing sight, but for the Star Forces it was a relief to see them go as they do not want anything to do with them. The Zaft military coup at the Plants was not unexpected as disagreements have caused tension with their civilian leaders and it slowly created a rift between them.
The Plant council wants to pursue a peaceful coexistence in order to avoid annihilation while Zaft wants an aggressive stance against the AF as they don't believe that they can be trusted, and as the years go by, the Plants Supreme Council continues to open avenues to a lasting peace with the AF. It became more important as problems like, economics, high unemployment, dwindling resources and lack of opportunity is taking their toll on the people. Peace is the answer for all of it.
Zaft aggressive stance however, is not helping the Plants council cause for peace and doing more harm to the Plants and citizen as Zaft fence up the space colonies just to protect it.
Lacus spoke with the members of Terminal and surprisingly, Yzak Joule and Dearka Elmsman were among them and they stayed with Orb along with Ezalia Joule who once acted as the Plants representative.
"We can't worry about them now" Lacus starts with sadness in her voice "we have… less than three days to prepare to fight off an approaching alien invasion and sad as this event occurred in such a crucial time, that invasion takes priority and not what has occurred at the Plants" she look in sadness at the screen showing images of bound up Plants council leader being taken out of the council hall, struggling, screaming and shouting, trying to tell them to stop this nonsense as they were thrown into an APC vehicle.
Now with the Plants under martial law, no one is leaving except for several ships, transports and cargo carriers that was able to leave the Plants before the lock down and are heading for the nearest neutral colony. It also shows Zaft movements with very detailed look of the Genesis Cannon surrounded by ships and being move out of its location and closer the Plants.
This was confirmed by shared data coming from New Artemis advance scanner which encompass the entire sol system with very impressive details.
'They literally has eyes everywhere in the sol system!' Yzak grumbled 'no wonder we couldn't sneak in close enough to their territories'
One of the few things that Zaft have tried to do was to get ships, drones, mobile suits and surveillance satellites close enough to spy on the AFSF held territories and they are always getting detected and intercepted by the Star Forces
After the meeting, everyone quietly went back to their duties leaving only Lacus, Kira, Waltfeld, Mu La Flaga and Murrue at the conference room as Waltfeld was explaining Zaft defense capability should war breaks out.
"The Plants have formidable defenses" Waltfeld said "Zaft have all the colonies protected with its own positron barrier, heavily armed satellite defense grids and dedicated battlegroups and a radar web and early warning system. All of it was designed to withstand an AFSF sneak attack or a full scale assault should war erupts once again… I don't know if it can withstand an alien attack"
"This coup Zaft caused is absurd!" Kira declared
"Absurd or not, Zaft have committed a terrible mistake and I am afraid that… it will cost the people of the Plants dearly for that" Waltfeld pointed out grimly
"Could we do something about it? I mean with the technology the Star Forces gave us we can subdue coup leaders and-" suggesting Kira but Waltfeld just shake his head and told him
"The SF are not going to let us leave with their tech and go on a crusade, and even if they did allow us and somehow we succeeded in subduing the coup leaders… there is no guarantee that the whole of Zaft will follow the orders of their civilian leaders," he said
"Why won't Zaft follow their own civilian leaders, the coup is illegal" Kira said
"It is illegal, but there is a lot of distrust been built up in Zaft and the Plants council for years now and many have been brooding for a rematch with the AF Star Forces," Waltfeld answered
"Remember Kira, the Star Forces made Zaft look inept in the eyes of their own people when they failed to stop O'Neill stealth ship attack on the Plants with paint missiles, forced Zaft to surrender the perpetrators who attack the mass driver project in Hawaii who happens to be members of Zaft and that made them look like Blue Cosmos terrorists in everyone eyes"
Kira remembers that day when the whole world capitulated to the AF threats of MAD with a super nuke unless they back off which they did, and with it agreeing to several demands and though some of it seems reasonable, one particular demand is focus on the Plants and Zaft, in particular, that's to hand over the leaders of the terrorist group that committed and ordered the attack on the Gerard K.
