Chapter 15

This is Murphy's Law - I'm taking a Vacation

Antarctica, during the Battle for Earth
SG-1

SG-1 flagship team onboard a Tel'tak cargo ship, has entered Earth's upper atmosphere after coming out of hyperspace undetected and that the only indication of their presence, was the one of many atmospheric reentry trails upon entering earth's upper atmosphere. Now if someone detects it, they assume it was nothing more than space garbage from the debris field that got caught by the gravitational pull of the planet.

On the way down, they tried to engage their cloaking field, but it malfunctioned as the Tel'tak race towards their destination and hovers a hundred feet above the polar ice caps and began to drill a path down the ice using the beam energy created from the ring transporters.

After a few minutes of drilling, the same ring transporter system brought down SG-1inside an underground ancient base buried deep beneath hundreds of feet of ancient glacial ice.

SG-1 cautiously move thru the base as they follow O'Neill like he knew the place like the back of his hand. Yet this was all thanks to the information from the ancient repository in his head, as he explains to the others in ancient language now that his mind is now completely re-wired by the knowledge of the ancients.

Dr. Daniel Jackson, tries his best to translate what O'Neill is saying for Carter and Teal'c, but there was so much in the ancient language that he doesn't understand yet.

"The Ancients left Earth after their civilization was devastated by a plague that swept across their empire a very, very, very long time ago, leaving only an outpost should they desire to return…Home. Earth was once their home!" Daniel said translating O'Neill ancient language with some bit of difficulty and in awe at what he's hearing.

"I didn't get that last word, trying to keep up but it's hard to translate it" he said with frustration and skip pass it and continues to translate the easier words O'Neill is speaking

"They came back from a galaxy which they fled to and establish a new civilization…but some of them came back tens of thousands of years ago, they-waits no…they fled from that galaxy!" Daniel corrected his translation and O'Neill didn't tell why they fled the galaxy they fled to after the plaque.

Daniel continue to translate O'Neill words

"In their return to Earth, they were surprised to find a new human race that's been born and evolving on their own without outside interference. They kept on observing this new race evolve from the hunter gatherers state and all the way to the establishment of their first communities of farmers as the first sign of civilization. Fascinating!" Daniel said in awe as he listens and translate the rest

"They decided to settle down somewhere else and let this new human race evolve on their own without their involvement or interference. They observe to see where this new human race's evolution leads to. Meanwhile, they rebuilt their civilization on another planet"

The next set of words to translate, is giving Daniel the chills up and down on his spine

"They establish a new city somewhere else and started gathering resources to begin constructing … new vessels/spaceships, new weapons of war… and as time passes, they started relying on automatons and automated systems for their construction projects because their population numbers have started to…dwindle, they are dying…all of them"

"Centuries after they returned and unable to sustain their population, they move their city to… wait what that can't be right, move their whole city?" Daniel was a bit puzzled and doubting if he got that part right on the translation.

Promising to go back to that part later as he continues translating the rest.

"… and, they brought something…a massive structure of some kind and placed it on Earth but hidden inside space to keep it safe…what the hell is, hidden inside space?" Daniel said and don't understand about the last part but also fascinated of what O'Neill was talking about in Ancient language

"Hidden inside space? I wonder if he means a layer in the subspace dimension by any chance?" Carter inquires

"I'm not sure right but," Daniel replied, "they pulled a lot of resources from everywhere to build new ships and new weapons, like they are going to war against someone"

"It sounded like they are building an armada, and who are they going to war against the Goa'uld maybe?" Carter supposing

"Good guess, but no, I don't think so" Daniel answered unsure about the Ancients waging a war against the Goa'uld

"Well they finished building everything they wanted to build after a thousand years but …they didn't used it" Daniel replied which made Carter curious

"Why build something for a thousand years and not use it?"

"From what O'Neill is saying is that… the Ancients are at the end of their lives and they decided to …went up… what the hell does that mean?" Daniel translate the word O'Neill spoke but has no idea what some of them meant

The last words O'Neill made Daniel wide eyes in awe at what he just said "O-kay, now if am hearing this right, Jack is going to," before Daniel could continue the ground suddenly shuddered for a moment and again like some kind of impact was coming from above

"Anubis has found us!" Teal'c exclaimed realizing it was an orbital bombardment.

As Teal'c and Carter took defensive positions, Daniel assists O'Neill place three orange glowing crystal-like objects that they have taken from the abandoned ancient outpost at planet Proclarush, and gently place it into what looks like slots located at the edges of a pedestal for a strange chair in the middle.

It was at this moment, that five Kull warriors made the inopportune time to appear from the ring transporter and began firing plasma rounds and forced everyone to take cover, then SG-1 return fire using anti-Kull weapons which Teal'c and Carter routed them. Unfortunately, more Kull warriors kept on appearing, and so Teal'c and Carter held the line.

Undeterred, Daniel continued to help O'Neill place the last glowing crystal-like objects in its slot, and what Daniel and the others don't know yet is that, the three crystal objects in their possession are one of the most powerful sources of energy in the known universe called Zero Point Energy. Incased in a crystalline object that would later be called Zero Point Module or Z.P.M. for short.

When all three ZPM are in place, O'Neill quickly took a seat and he automatically initiate a powering up of the outpost thru some form of mental control. The power released by the ZPM flowed into the system like water thru dried up river paths and giving life to the many systems within the outpost. O'Neill mentally commanded the outpost to power up its offensive and defensive systems to defend the outpost first.

Somewhere down below, objects by the thousands light up the darkness and started moving. Meanwhile, Carter and Teal'c continues to defend, and up on the surface, the orbital bombardment from a Ha'tak in orbit continue to weaken the cargo ship shields a first wave of Death Gliders sent by the Ha'tak approaches with killing intent followed by a second and larger group.

The cargo ship shield would have failed if it was not for the Prometheus, the first ever FTL capable human ship commanded by General Hammond, came just in time to add its firepower and shields to Master Bra'tac while Mobile Suits and 302 squadrons finish off a squadron of Death gliders and then readied themselves against a second wave of Anubis Death Gliders and enemy Mobile Suits and bombers in a battle that will decide the fate of humanity.

It was in the middle of this battle, that thousands of ancient drones came pouring out from the entry hole, passing thru the shields and moving so fast and maneuverable that enemy death gliders and mobile suits were unable to escape its fast-tracking capabilities and when the last of them were destroyed, the thousands of drones soon formed up into one massive pillar of light heading straight up towards space at incredible speeds and quickly attacking thirty-one Ha'tak that's in orbit above Antarctica.

It was a little while back, when thirty Ha'tak Motherships in orbit was diverted after one of the Ha'tak passing by the frozen continent heading for the Plants, detected an unknown energy signature below and spotted an unidentified Tel'tak cargo ship that's not theirs is hovering above the ice, with an energy shield up. They sent a challenge message, demanding to identify themselves but it remained silent. So, it started an orbital bombardment, hitting its shields, weakening it while it sent death gliders as well as sending a squad of Kull warriors thru a ring transporter but soon lost contact and immediately sent more.

It was right then, that they detected a Prometheus class ship, the Prometheus, heading towards the same location cargo ship. Immediately it sends a request for support and thirty motherships responded to its call as they are the closes. They sent out squadrons bombers, gliders and mobile suits following the path of the first wave to destroy the unidentified cargo ship and where a battle ensues above Antarctica.

Then amid the battle, thousands of glowing objects which turns out to be ancient drones, came out of the ground, destroying the enemy forces everywhere then shot straight up towards the atmosphere. The space above Antarctica lit up like fireworks displays, as thousands of drone's punches thru Ha'tak shields and armor with ease and then ripping the ship's from within like they were made of cardboard boxes.

Back in the outpost, thru O'Neill mind's eye, he can see Antarctica airspace secured and now he focusses his attention to the others across Sol space and immediately sends the drones thru hyperspace and reappears everywhere to attack and destroy Anubis Armada with a vengeance.

O'Neill can see what the drones can see in so many ways as they also act like a surveillance drones with scanners and sensors and here he sees Ron battered and beaten up mobile suit the Strike Noir, sitting on the hull of the Eternal, Lacus Clyne spaceship.

O'Neill smile in relief that Ron is alive as the Strike Noir waves to the drone that's in front of it and when he's satisfied that Ron is safe, he sent the drone to others to destroy more Ha'taks until none are left in Earth's orbit or anywhere in the system.

Still a few Ha'tak were smart enough to leave the system before the drones could get to them and as for Anubis himself, well his Ha'tak Mothership was taken out by Requiem before he could leave the system. O'Neill grin at seeing Anubis mothership got lanced in the ass by the Requiem cannon as it did something good for a change. O'Neill had some reservation on rebuilding that monstrosity of an immobile weapon, yet still the idea of repurposing it to destroy enemy ships further out of the solar systems was an attractive idea for the Joint Chiefs and recent technological advances and sciences made the Requiem beam capable of achieving such feat.

Of course, they will get an earful from everyone on Earth and condemnation from the Plants for rebuilding it, and in response to that is the revelation of the Zaft Genesis Cannon and where inquiring mind want to know why Zaft built it.

With earth space and the rest of the sol system cleared of unwanted visitors, O'Neill decided to do one more move before his control slip out. So, with one last thought… he initiated the raising of the massive structure hidden deep within the ice and the appearance of another in outer space.

Avalon, a massive vessel that would later be classified as a cityship in the shape of a snowflake, capable of lifting into orbit and interstellar travel capable. A technological marvel built by the Ancients thousands of years ago.

Yet this great cityship pale in comparison to the massive hidden structure that circles the Earth as O'Neill is putting all his effort for one last command to reveal a cosmic megastructure and one of the last great engineering works of the Ancients…

Ringworld, located half a million miles from Earth is a massive orbital ring that came out from deep within subspace dimension. It's an orbital ring with a width nearly the size of the Earth and just as thick with the flat inner surface containing a breathable atmosphere and earth ecosystem.

O'Neill let his control fall and immediately Teal'c and Daniel help him to a stasis chamber to keep him alive until he gets some help.

New Artemis, three months later

Three months of peace and quiet, which is something the President of the Atlantic Federation President Hayes is not used to having this much peace and quiet for this long as Murphy's Law tends to sneak up on you and surprise you when you least expect it.

This same goes to anyone who works at Stargate Command as they would find the peace a bit eerie as they are used to dealing with 'end of the world type situations' for once every week or two weeks on a near daily basis, which made them edgy of late.

Still, the peace is welcome by everyone else as it gives people time to rebuild and repair, much like the ones Hayes watches from his office window at New Artemis (at one of the few observation lounges turned temporary Oval Office) the signs of repair and reconstruction of Artemis base and the few starships of the Star Forces fleet that survived after they took a beating from Anubis forces.

A staggering loss of forty percent of its space fleet are gone and what survive is under repair and quickly put back into service which is a top priority. Still this was a more acceptable loss in comparison to the rest of the worlds armed forces who suffered tremendous losses including Zaft.

Civilian casualty across the globe is still being tallied, yet all indication shows that the death toll was remarkably lower than they previously expected because many of them have already been evacuated into shelters far from the population centers just days before the attack.

Damages to Earth infrastructure seems to vary from moderate to total destroyed in some areas, yet most of the damages were concentrated on ground military bases, navy yards, airports, spaceports, harbors, communications and water/power stations.

(Analyst suspected that targeting these areas first was to cut off resistance, travel and services from the population to weaken them and make them susceptible to surrender when the Army of Anubis start marching across their ruined world)

The only country on the planet that has the least damage from an orbital bombardment is the Atlantic Federation thanks to its defense shields above, which took the brunt of the attack, soaking up damages that would have been for the country below it while interception systems, ion cannons and anti-ship missile defenses fire salvo after salvo bringing down a Ha'tak or two when it got close to the planet.

Unfortunately, it couldn't be said the same for most of the orbital colonies and space facilities around the Earth. Though there were few exceptions (barely survive that is) due to the Star Forces and their advance technology defending them, the rest are a total loss.

The same can be said with Earth's military forces both on the ground and in outer space. Many nations with their own space fleet were lost in battle with one or two warships that survived.

The Atlantic Federation Star Forces Starfleet that once boasted 200+ warships were down to less than 80 a staggering loss, and yet the fleet performed admirably against a vast alien armada.

As for Zaft…well the Zaft fleet itself made sure that not one survives all thanks to Ba'al cyber-attack on their wireless network which every ship and mobile suits receives and turn the Zaft fleet against itself.

In the aftermath of the battle, what remains of Zaft began to reorganize and frantically fielding any ship and mobile suits that was not affected by Ba'al cyber-attack. They also call for comrades who survive and make their way home if they can, especially down on Earth and yet not many answered the call to return home after their surface bases got pounded and those who did survive is in a mad rush to leave Earth, taking only what they can carry or anything that's useful.

Zaft left whole military bases completely abandoned with only a small skeleton security force to guard the base but not enough to keep thieves and scavengers to come into the night and pick the bases clean of what was left behind.

Those who return to the Plants discovered that they don't have enough available military resource to rearm them. So Zaft resorted in fielding armed-up civilian ships and shuttles, mobile suits of any kind mostly obsolete and repurpose as workers suits for industrial work, and are manned by surviving cadets and soldiers with some MS training and retired pilots and volunteer civilians. It was a sad sight, seeing what remains of Zaft, a mere shadow of what it once was that protected the Plants.

Oddly enough, the Star Forces and most of the Atlantic Federation military attitude towards Zaft are somewhat…mixed. Some seems irritated or annoyed that someone else defeated Zaft instead of them. Many officers who are former Earth Alliance, wanted to be the one to beat the crap out of Zaft in a rematch battle but will never get the chance now.

The Zaft they know is gone forever, and many felt that it was not worth the effort of doing anything to its remnants, except feeling sorry for the Plants as they have no other choice but to rely on this makeshift fleet to protect them…that is if they can retake Armory One from a stranded enemy force and give Zaft a fighting chance.

Hayes was about to read a report on the situation Armory One is on, when a call from his secretary outside his office, informs him of his guest has just arrive.

He put down the report as his guest entered his office, is an SGC commander with a slight limp left leg, Ron Sterling. He saluted and stood in attention and in full uniform with the rank of Colonel.

Ron has been a trusted friend and ally of Hayes in the last ten years, helping deal with criminals, terrorists and shadow groups that tries to manipulate the AF since their fall and then joined SGC as their point man in military operations in both at home, in space and at the other end of the Stargate.

Hayes walks pass his table and greeted Ron with a handshake

"Morning Ron, good to see you back up on your feet"

"Feelings mutual sir" Ron replied gladly and sarcastically he said, "I was starting to have a serious distaste towards hospital food which was delightfully awful!"

Hayes smiled in amusement and said, "I bet you do, as do everyone else does" then went back to his desk and seated and first made an inquiry to Ron

"So, how is O'Neill condition?"

"He's still in his stasis pod, Mr. President" Ron replied as took he took a seat "Dr. Frasier said that it's inadvisable to remove him for it's the only thing that's keeping him alive until we can contact the Asgard and like before,"

"It's been almost three months and not a word from the Asgard, Ron" Hayes interrupted him "I don't like to assume the worst and God knows, the idea of the Asgard, losing the war against the Replicator is something I don't want to think about."

Hayes pick up a PADD "This suggestion of yours of allowing Major Carter and Teal'c to take O'Neill and travel to the Ida Galaxy to the Asgard homeworld Othalla is out of the question. It's too far and too dangerous"

"Not if we use the modified Tel'tak SG-1 used sir" Ron offered "O'Neill modified it and its capable of Intergalactic travel, sir owe it to the man to try. He gave us a hail marry pass when we lost all hope of winning the game that if we lose, we die!"

Hayes shook his head and argued "They can get there yes, but may I remind you, that the Asgard told us that the Ida Galaxy is basically off limits and with good reason, its crawling with Replicators!" Hayes exclaimed and remembering what the Asgard told them about Replicators capabilities

"Should a vessel from our galaxy get captured and assimilated by those damn mechanical bugs, they will have access to information about our galaxy and they will end up coming here. Hell! We nearly lost our world when SG-1 brought that android girl Reese home, and who is also responsible for the Asgard replicator problem in the first place"

"So, we just do-nothing sir?" Ron shot back frustratingly

"No, we are doing something Ron" Hayes replied gently as a holographic screen showing an aerial view of Avalon and a ring of AF surface warships guarding the ancient cityship

"I am having every scientist at our disposal scouring the Avalon database for answers and if anyone can find that answer, its Dr. Daniel Jackson" Hayes said

Avalon,

In Arthurian lore, itsaid to bethe resting place of the legendary King Arthur where he was taken after he died fighting Mordred at the Battle of Camlann and said to be the Great Forge where the legendary sword Excalibur was made and some even say that it's the resting place of Merlin's Legacy

"That cityship alone is major boon to us in so many ways and hopefully there is something there that can help O'Neill and us if we are to survive these trying times" Hayes said and look back to Ron

"I am sorry Ron, but we can't spare anyone, not with our forces current condition" Hayes said,

"But sir" Ron try to argue but Hayes shot him down

"No buts Ron, I need you and SG-1here, and not galivanting somewhere around the galaxy with the current situation we are in, and despite galaxy being quiet it's also jittery, as Hammond reported to me last week"

Hayes re-read General Hammond report and tell Ron what the report means to them

"Hammond sent SG-9 and SG-14 offworld to reestablish contact with the other Free Jaffa factions, and they reported that the System Lords are keeping their distance from us, at least for the time being. Now with Anubis dead and Ba'al quickly taking over his domain, every major leader of the System Lords is a bit busy consolidating their own power base once more. All indications that we are safe for the moment. However," Hayes stops as he felt thirsty so he pours himself a glass of water to quench his thirst as well as offered Ron a glass but he politely declines the offer.

After a refreshing drink, Hayes continue "However, experience have taught us one too many times is that, things are not always what they seem, and things won't always go in your way" Hayes quoted something from Murphy Law

"You think they will try and attack us sir, after the way we defeated Anubis?"

"We have become a major threat, and with that, there is a remote chance that they will, that is unless they found out how badly our fleet have been weakened, how most of our defense are down or under repair and Requiem is useless without its relay to direct its beam. Worst of all, we can't control that CHAIR that O'Neill used to control the ancient drones." Haves heave a sigh dismayed at their current defense situation

"I am not about to gamble the lives our people and our planet by keep on hoping for the best"

Ron nodded "We never do sir. It's what kept us alive in the first place"

"Damn straight Ron" Hayes remark in agreement

"However, if this peace and quiet holds out, and if we haven't found anything within the next three months, then I will give the go ahead for the Ida Galaxy Mission Major Carter proposes"

"Understood, sir"

"Also, SGC can return to their regular operations in three months, however I will release a few of SGC ships from the Star Forces fleet to immediately begin long range patrol and reclaim and reinforce our closes offworld bases once they are available, as well as transfer more people and resources for them"

"The General would love that Mr. President"

"Well those are easy ones for me to deal with Ron… the ones that are difficult to deal with 'sigh' are the politics involving the rest of the world" Ron got what Hayes meant and has some idea who or whom he's referring to and what the reason is

"I take it that, you are having some migraine from the other governments demanding something from us again, as always?" Ron inquires grinning

"More like a request from every governments on Earth and the Plants" Hayes said

"What they want is another Summit Meeting to be held in Hawaii, and word has it that they are going to request participation in our interstellar endeavor" Ron snorted at that

"Well that's so nice of them, instead of demanding they are requesting participation in our interstellar endeavor" Ron said in an amused, sarcastic and mocking tone and ads "And here I thought that they would be demanding our heads on a silver platter like they usually do, as well as handing over the Stargate to them after the battle. Damn I'm disappointed"

Hayes laugh dryly at Ron humor and said "Oh, that would be disastrous for them Ron"

"How so sir?"

"Well it's because, we have what everyone desperately needs right now, and they are not about to piss off the very people who can give them what they want or could deny them of what they desperately needed" Hayes answered.

Ron understood what Hayes meant, for at this moment the devastated nations of Earth is still rebuilding the damages done during the Battle for Earth, and they are heavily reliant on resources coming from space…currently being brought down by the Atlantic Federation.

Relying on the Atlantic Federation for their needs have very much irk the many nations on Earth despite the fair exchange of their services. Yet they have no other choice because many them have lost their outer space installation that their mined the resources that needed to be processed and sent to Earth are either damage, destroyed or incapacitated during the battle, along with the means to move them and the infrastructure to receive them.

The list of nations they could turn towards to supply them with resources is a short one, and one of them is the Orb Union, and as much as Orb wants to accept more business, they are at their limits to accommodate more and had to turn them away.

"Lately, many politicians around the world is speaking out against us, blaming us for so much of the destruction and pointing out that the Atlantic Federation have barely taken damage, all because we were prepared for it and they were not"

"That's Bullshit sir and you know that!" Ron replied throwing his hands around in anger as he's irate at that idea "Sir, they know very well that we built those defenses primarily against them. We are peaceful but not at all in good terms with our neighbors and they are as much a threat to us as the Goa'uld are"

"Not everyone will see it that way Ron, and they will still blame us for what happened, worst yet, they will blame us for bringing the Goa'uld to Earth"

Ron snorted and wave that idea away "So they blame us big deal, they blame us for everything and anything under the sun, so what else is new sir?"

Hayes laugh at that "No, nothing is new I guess"

"But honestly sir, I really don't like taking the fall for something we didn't do!" Ron declared "Hell! Those damn snakeheads never knew who we are for five years of running covert operations around the galaxy, until that bastard Ba'al suckered Apophis to attack and destroy the Earth!"

"If anyone is to blame for exposing Earth to the System Lords its Ba'al!"

"I agree with you on that Ron" Hayes said agreeing "First time was five years ago when Apophis sent his own fleet against Earth under the advice of Ba'al his chief scientist and advisor"

"At the Battle of Tau Ceti" Ron exclaim "The first real space battle we have against a System Lord, our Baptism of Fire and we won that battle, but barely."

-o-

Tau Ceti star system located around twelve light years away from Earth and where SGC ambushed Apophis attack fleet before they could head off to Earth. SGC was up against six of Apophis Ha'tak motherships, where at that time SGC was using prototype battlecruisers class, the X-303 Prometheus-class, and the X-309 Cerberus class and an odd mix of ten Earth Alliance warships of Agamemnon, Nelson and Drake-class warships armed and modified to go interstellar and take on a Ha'tak but in double team.

Despite the numbers, the battle was against SGC and it was only when SG-1 successful covert operation inside Apophis flagship did the tide of battle turned on SGC favor and gained a Ha'tak as spoils of war while the rest was destroyed or retreated.

The name Tau'ri have become widely known in the galaxy afterwards, which is something that SGC wanted to avoid as much as possible as it could endanger the Earth from hostile alien threat in a later future date.

Fortunately, SGC and with the help from the Asgard they were able to put Earth into the Protected Planets Treaty, which is something SGC and Henry Hayes is forever grateful for it.

"Ba'al knows us better than any snakeheads (the Goa'uld) out there, because he once lives among us" Ron said

"We don't know how long he lived on Earth. Years, decades maybe even centuries. What we do know is that he's aware of what we can do, what we are capable of becoming"

"For that I agree with you on that Ron" Hayes started "He help Zaft developed a new weapon, the mobile suits which is a game changer in the battlefield, and then we improve on it exponentially which resulted in the creation of the Gundams, and when he left us he took that knowledge with him to build more advance mobile suits and sold it to others of his ilk."

Hayes stood up from his seat and walk towards the window with Ron following him watching and Star Forces warships being towed for repairs by engineers in EVA suits and automated robot drones.

"Among the System Lords, he is by far the most dangerous foe we ever faced and that…because thinks too much like a human being and not a Goa'uld" Hayes said grimly

"What happen to Zaft is proof of that. God knows what else he has done"

"Well whatever it is sir, we will deal with it like we always have"

Hayes nodded agreement with Ron, "For now though, Earth's recovery is our top priority right now and to gain more momentum, we are going to need to deal with a lot of politics"

"Well thank god I'm not into politics sir, break a leg!" Ron remark sounding happy which he got a confused look from Hayes

"Break a leg? Ron, we are not in the theatre" Hayes said which Ron realize his mistake andquickly started saying

"Sorry Sir, I-I'm mean you are the president, your job is politics, I-I'm just a soldier and I just shoot people, criminals, bad guys and things and stuffs, while you are uh, the one doing all the politics and stuff, getting all hair gray, stomach ulcer, cramps, back pain and getting wrinkles on your,"

"Ron!" Hayes yelled at Ron which he immediately shut up

Hayes took a deep sigh and trying not to pop a vain as he walks back to his desk 'He's serious at one moment and joker the next' he thought

Hayes went back to his desk picks up a PADD (Personal Access Display Device they borrowed the idea from Star Trek) with an eyes only display and a thumb print, vocal and facial recognition scanner built into it.

"I have a mission for you to handle personally" Hayes handed the padd "Intelligence reports that a bunch of Junkers are selling off a cache of salvage Goa'uld weaponry that we believe to have came from a partly destroyed Ha'tak we found in the Debris Belt around L5 last week"

Hayes then ads "investigators found an entire cargo holds stripped clean of its contents and signs of numerous systems been pry off with a crowbar or remove crystal controls from their alcove and what else was remove, they can't say"

"What about Staff cannons and naquada bomb, sir?"

"The bombs were all accounted for, unfortunately around twelve Staff cannons are not, most likely removed by these Junkers" Hayes answered

"Now find these guys and retrieve or destroy those weapons and anything else before someone tampers with them and blow themselves and everyone around them to kingdom come"

"I'll get right on it sir" Ron gave a salute and was about to leave when Ron around to inquire about something "Uhmn sir, what are your plans for that oversize wedding ring out there?"

Ron gestures to the massive orbital ring floating five hundred thousand kilometers from Earth or circling the Earth at the Equator. The Star Forces immediately claimed the ring as Atlantic Federation Territory and is off limits from everyone. Unfortunately, a few vessels tried to land on the ring habitat side for one reason or another. Unfortunately for them, a powerful energy field is protecting the whole ring and they inadvertently slam into it.

Only three locations are the only means to enter the ring. All three locations are under Star Forces guard.

"SGC teams are exploring every inch of it and see what the Ancient left behind and why it was built. After that I will decide what to do with it" Hayes answered

Ron nodded and walk out, as he's satisfied in Hayes choice on the matter.

Looking out the window, Hayes and most of the people who has ever heard of the Gate Builders or more precise, the Ancients. They all wonder what the Ancients was planning to do with this massive ring structure whose width is the length of Earth if one could unfold it down on a table lay it down from end to end.

Visual inspection using Hubble telescope type cameras, shows It possesses an Earth Ecosystem like that found ten thousand years ago with lakes and oceans, tropical forests, prairies, mountain ranges the height of Mount Everest or higher yet not high enough to touch the ceiling. They even spotted a spectacular sight of the migration movement of a million North American Buffalos, and nearby them are Mammoths with their own migration movement

When these images got broadcasted to the world, people were in awe at the rich ecosystem the ring posses

They also spotted numerous manmade structures, abandoned cities, town and homes and, they also see several if not hundreds of what many believe to be shipyards, construction bays for building spaceships of different sizes from the size of an F-303 to monstrous kilometer long behemoths still in their birth or under construction and laid abandoned…for ten thousand years.

Atlantic Federation scientists, analyzed the data and theorized that it must have taken the Ancients, ten thousand years or more to finish construction, with a population of billions or more to help build this massive megastructure, and using the resources of thousands of solar systems especially trinium, naquadah and carbon which is what the core of the ring was made of, and only the Asgard ship O'Neill armored hull is known to have made from, while the outer hull is covered in a blue crystalline material of some kind that's over a thousand feet thick and they believe to be some kind of armor as its capable of deflecting or absorb most types of energy weapons.

It would be later that, they will discover that blue crystalline material is also acting like a solar cell, capable of absorbing all forms of solar energy highly efficiently, supplying the ring with energy for the barrier with surplus power to spare.

Remarkable feet of engineering that boggles one's mind, and many wonders if there are more out there? Other feats of engineering the Ancients since their civilization said to have stood for millions of years before a plague fell them.

SGC knows that the Goa'uld rise in power was due to the reverse engineering of discovered Ancient technology and use it to dominate the galaxy and declare themselves Gods to an enslave humanity. Yet the Goa'uld have never found a find such as this, which Hayes was thankful about that

(From Wikipedia)

Ringworld is a 1970 science fiction novel by Larry Niven, set in his Known Space universe and considered a classic of science fiction literature. Niven later added four sequels and four prequels. (The Fleet of Worlds series, co-written with Edward M. Lerner provides the four prequels as well as Fate of Worlds, the final sequel.) These books tie into numerous other books set in Known Space. Ringworld won the Nebula Award in 1970 AD, as well as both the Hugo Award and Locus Award in 1971 AD.

-o-

The Ancients name it Ringworld, however, this is not the Ringworld of the award-winning literature that author Larry Niven wrote in the 1970s and yet this ringworld is equally impressive enough, and it represents the achievements of a long, long gone civilization.

For now, Ringworld is off limits and thankfully, there are only three places that one could enter ringworld and its now under guard.

Hayes leans back to his chair and thought about the research done to know who the Gate Builders or the Ancients are and how advance they truly are. Most of what they discovered was all thanks to Dr. Daniel Jackson efforts in translating Ancient text and after ten years of finding bits and pieces scattered across the galaxy and then piecing them together to reveal one truth.

The Ancients are the First Evolution of Human kind and humans today are the Second Evolution of Human kind and… eventual inheritors of the Ancients legacy.

At least that's what they believe, until that belief was finally proven.

Proven, that they are the Second Evolution of Human kind

Hayes has no idea how he feels about it, but he understood of its importance and how it could change humanity view of itself. Not since the revelation of George Glenn revealing himself as the first genetically altered human, the first Coordinator, to the discovery of the WhaleStone on Jupiter did humanity change so dramatically, so violently.

The Battle for Earth is already forcing humanity to change again, making them reevaluate their pre-conceptive notion of what life is like in the galaxy. Wanting to know more, questions asks that demand to be answered.

Some People or as Hayes would call them, self-proclaim prophets and so-called experts in aliens and conspiracy buffs and they are all walking around hand in hand with each other preaching their absurd answers of idiocy. What is even more absurd is what some of them are wearing, costumes! People wearing bright and colorful spandex with antenna head bands and pointy ears mimicking characters in famous television and movie sci-fi genre.

Hayes finds them all absurdly ridiculous, and none of them have even come close to show what's life truly is like out there beyond the Stargate… except for one.

Wormhole X-treme a cancelled sci-fi show that ran for three seasons but was cancelled seven years ago due to low ratings. The creator Martin Llyod or Marty by his friends and SG-1, who is a human from another planet, which by all technical term as an alien. After the cancellation of Wormhole X-treme, Llyod continue to work in the studio as an assistant producer though time after time he tried to pitch his old show with new storyline and the studio big wigs flatly said no every time.

A month after the Battle for Earth, as Marty return to report for work, when he was suddenly drag into the studio executive office to answer a few questions, but Marty doesn't feel like it without a lawyer present as his instinct is saying to him this is something big.

The next day and in the presence of his lawyer who is a JAG lawyer and a former SGC member, set down the rule of the meeting. Then an hour later, Marty was being treated like a king and offered a ten-year contract to produce Wormhole X-treme: Resurgence with feature films and all, plus the privileges of a Hollywood director, limo, mansions and all.

That day made Marty, a very happy, happy man.

Deciding to change subject, he push himself forward and picks up one of the padd he was reading earlier and read the report of how remnants of the Army of Anubis are stranded inside it, most specifically, on Continent 2 and that they are heavily entrenched and prepared to fight off Zaft.

For Zaft, fighting an unknown such as the Jaffa and Kull warriors is a problem. So, with a bit of reluctance, Zaft requested Star Forces logistics and intelligence assistance. It was surprising for Hayes and a joyous occasion for the Joint Chiefs (No surprise there) that Zaft went to asks them, which was not easy for Zaft to do, and yet they swallowed their pride and got the nerve to ask for help from them.

So, the Atlantic Federation Government sent experts and a contingent of SG teams to help and who better suited to talk about Jaffa than Teal'c himself as he represents Stargate Command flagship team, SG-1.
