Just Another Day in the Job

Somewhere around the Plants a few days later
Orb Ship, Kusanagi
Someone once said that 'one-man's trash is another man treasure' which they might be right for the Junk Guild, Junkers and salvage operators that are gathering as much debris made from the destroyed Anubis Armada.
Pieces of armor from an Ha'tak is a gold mine by itself, where a small fist size piece of trinium armor is worth its weight in gold as New Manhattan is paying top dollar for every piece of trinium they could find.
Also, they are paying triple for any alien tech they find either intact, damaged or destroyed.
Of course, whatever technology they do find that is still in working order or not, would most likely end up in the black market or in the hands of scientists and engineer under some foreign government or a private sector payroll because just having alien tech for them to study can be worth more than what the AF is paying them.
The Star Forces, is aware of this of course but do very little since it falls under the law of international salvage. The only fortunate thing is that, what Goa'uld tech the salvagers find were few and far between, mostly trinket size like a broken staff weapon, Intar or training weapons, Jaffa helmets and armors, crates of ToK'Kal or shock grenades were found so far. Yet sometimes, someone gets very lucky.
Colonel Kisaka watches a bunch giddy engineers from Morgenroete, look thru a salvage Death Glider where the only damage they could see is its cockpit canopy, that they believe that most likely, the pilot got suck out into space.
This was a great prize because the technology on the alien fighter alone is a boon to Orb advance technology if they want to catch up with the Star Forces. The noted interest is the gliders gravimetric drive and inertial dampeners could make spaceships enter and exit Earth atmosphere without the need for Mass Drivers or giant rocket boosters to push a ship into orbit.
Spaceships capable of ARV or Ascent and Reentry Vehicles, are used by the AF exclusively especially their Merchant fleets is on high demand and that they have overstretch their resources to meet the demands of Earth. Orb is in a similar fashion despite not having ARV but now, they wanted spaceships with ARV capabilities and this could be the chance to have one.
They also found a slightly damage but working Goa'uld UV energy shield or Solar Shield generator, though not a true Force Field per say like the one Star Forces ships uses. It's still a special interest for them because it has a connection to energy shields developed by the AF…one is a Positron Energy Shield. A technology first seen in action during the Battle for Earth, where AF ground military forces deployed one around Honolulu, Hawaii and every major city in the Atlantic Federation when the orbital bombardment began.
Orb found out about this when SGC scientists and engineers were installing shields on Orb ships before the Battle for Earth, that SGC were able to make their positron reflector into a circular sphere instead of a wall or barrier being projected. To do this, they reverse engineered the Goa'uld UV Energy Shield, and what they learn there help developed and greatly improved their positron reflector technology to a true energy shield, capable of withstanding projectiles and a direct hit from energy weapons far better than before and it also eliminated its weakness from beam shield.
The new shield, would have been perfect to protect any spaceship in the Star Forces fleet as it can raise the survivability of the ship and crew very high. But unfortunately, there was several drawbacks, one of which is that once deployed, you are incapable of firing back and hurt them as they cannot hurt you. The shield systems are also absurdly power hungry, and the equipment is too bulky to be installed on a spaceship.
Eventually, they solve the problem and made some innovative way for their ships to fire thru the shields, one of which is making a hole for a beam weapon or missile to pass thru as well as curve the power consumption and compact the equipment enough to install it on a ship or mobile enough for ground troops to bring it with them. As time goes by and new technology got into their possession, they made more improvements. Yet to make a beam to pass thru while the shield is kept on protecting the ship from enemy fire still eludes them.
Then later, their allies the Asgard offered their assistance by gifting them with schematics of first generation Asgard shield and Asgard Hyperdrive as a sign of their friendship to the Tau'ri.
The scientist was overjoyed for the generous gift, because the first generation Asgard shields they received shares similarities to their positron energy shield, and yet far more powerful and stronger than theirs with little issues in their operation. With it, they completed their research and excitedly called the new shield system as the Asgard Energy Generator of an Impenetrable Shield or A.E.G.I.S. and its almost in par with the current Asgard shields in both strength and durability and are now installed in every spaceship, naval and land vessels.
As for the Positron Energy Shield, the AF military kept it and made it mobile for their ground forces, so that it can be deployed around their military bases to protect them from enemy ground assault, artillery strike, air bombing, orbital bombardment and mobile suit attacks.
It proven its worth when the AF military ground troops, deployed one in every major city in the Atlantic Federation as a secondary defense should their primary protection failed to hold back the Goa'uld. True enough, some sections did fail and the Goa'uld began bombing population centers but were unable to break thru the shields protecting the cities on the ground.
So, while every nation and every city are being pounded by orbital bombardment, the AF cities, from Honolulu to every city of the United States to London in Great Britain, has only minor or left undamaged.
It goes to show how much the Atlantic Federation benefited so much from the Stargate and that's only the tip of a huge iceberg. Of course, they do share some of the benefits to everyone but its selective, and that some (politicians mostly) people find that infuriating.
When Kisaka reported to Morgenroete of finding a UV energy shield and other items of interest, they were ecstatic and can finally draw plans to develop their own energy shield using Lightwave barrier technology to create a LightWave Energy Shield, a fusion of two different technology the same way the AF did with theirs.
Orb and like every nation, wanted shields for their own ships ever since they found out that every Star Forces warship has an energy shield capable of nullifying the effectiveness of mobile suit and anti-ship weaponries.
Acquiring one was next to impossible as the AF jealously guard their secrets and the AF don't sell their military technology to absolutely no one.
With their prize salvages secured, Kisaka ordered the Kusanagi to head for the Plants as Morgenroete and in cooperation with the Plants Supreme Council and Zaft, made a deal to help reverse engineer all alien technology they could find and develop new one from it, which is why Morgenroete has set up shop in the Plants.
The Atlantic Federation, was aware of this but they don't seem bothered by it, for obvious reasons. One of which is what Kisaka is looking at, which it's hard not to notice it even if it is several hundred thousand kilometers away, for one can still see it.
Ringworld
Appearing right after the Battle for Earth ended, and immediately declared as an Atlantic Federation territory by the Star Forces, and lately they are putting a great deal of time to explore their new territory, which all indication that it's a treasure trove of advances from a long gone but highly advance alien civilization who happens to be the builders of the Stargate Network.
Comparing to what they are salvaging to that, Kisaka felt like they are just taking scraps under the dinner table, while the AF was seated in front of a table and with a huge spread of food being served in front of them. An analogy shared by every leader on Earth who wants to pull up a chair and sit in front of that table.
It's reason why another Summit Meeting will be held again next week in Honolulu and this time every leader on Earth will try to convince the Atlantic Federation leader to allow their participation in the Stargate Program, this time they will be bringing offers which they hope the AF leader will accept.
There is also a motion from the Commonwealth States of America, to place an international governing group, to take control Stargate Command and all things related to it, including the floating city of Avalon and Ringworld.
The CSA motion was highly unlikely to pass, and that the AF will not be dictated by anyone or agree to such demands, especially when it came from the CSA President, Robert Kinsey who in fact, is the most hated person in the Atlantic Federation.
Since the disclosure, the man went on and on about the AF especially SGC irresponsible and reckless behavior, that they shouldn't be poking a hornet in the darkness, pointing out past behaviors, their connection to Blue Cosmos, Logos and other terrorist groups.
Kinsey tries to get support by riling up the population with hateful rhetoric, using people anger and hatred towards the Atlantic Federation to get the public on his side, which is rather ironic because Blue Cosmos used these same tactics against Coordinators in the past.
He even went on about threatening the AF to comply to their demands, force them thru military and economic blockade.
Two things Kinsey seems to forget
One, there is no military capable of taking on the Atlantic Federation military
Two, economic blockade is death sentence for the whole world because the whole is relying heavily on the Atlantic Federation to rebuild their country.
Many views Kinsey motion as absurd and irrational, which is much like himself off late and it was fortunate that not everyone is taking him seriously enough to agree with him.
Cagalli have been elected by a coalition of leaders as their representative and she has high hopes for the next Summit Meeting, that a partnership will be made and will allow the rest of the world participation on the Stargate endeavor, something that, Orb and everyone else wanted to be part of but was not about to usurp the AF or grovel down on their feet for it.
Still, there is no guarantee that they would accept, which is why Kisaka is on a scavenger hunt, for they need Knowledge and Information far beyond what the Atlantic Federation is selectively sharing that could go a long way in protecting and keeping Orb safe, and free.
Aprillius Colony
After delivering their prize salvage, Kisaka went to the office of the head engineer of Morgenroete, Erica Simmons and with her is MS pilot Athrun Zala.
"Finding that glider first and a working UV energy shield was sheer luck" Kisaka said "it's started to get crowded out there with people not just prospecting for trinium but anything that looks alien tech"
"You did good Colonel" Ms. Simmons praise "other teams reported in, and were able to find other alien technology for us to research on as well as enormous amount of salvage material for our trinium needs"
"Thinks we have enough?" Kisaka asks
"We won't know for sure once we begin extracting the trinium in these ores," she answered
The Atlantic Federation is offering top dollar for every ton of trinium people bring, let alone any alien technology that survives" Ms. Simmons picks up a small piece of metal made of trinium and a small bar of trinium on her desks
"We have been trying to extract trinium from this for months and we finally found a way to do it" Ms. Simmons put down the trinium and then pick a report from the metallurgy department
"Preliminary test shows that these are not pure trinium we have been salvaging at all" Simmons read "There are other metals mix in, with different types like iron, copper and trace elements of gold and even platinum is mix in with a few unknowns we still can't identify. Though it's probably trying to supplement their shortage of trinium supply and though it doesn't seem to make better but give it weight, it's still ten times stronger than our laminated armor but a pure trinium or mix with the right the metal like titanium or carbon steel, it's twenty-one times stronger than anything we have available"
Athrun pick up the bar of trinium and try to feel the weight but was astonished that its very light "feels like I'm holding a piece of paper"
"Aside from being strong, it's incredibly lightweight and durable which is exactly why it's a perfect building material for starships hull construction" Ms. Simmons said, "Trinium really is worth its weight in gold"
"Still, what we know and what we have, barely scratch the surface compared to what the Star Forces has in their possession for ten years" Kisaka said remembering their short time on Artemis Base and saw the amazing advances, advances never seen or shared.
"We can only do so much of what we have," Athrun remark "despite having misgivings about them, we should be glad that Blue Cosmos or Logos don't hold the reigns of the Atlantic Federation. Even though some of them are a real pain in the ass" Athrun mutters as he remembers a certain SGC Colonel not too fondly
Colonel Ron Sterling, the pilot of the Strike Noir and the notorious leader of Blue Earth Corps, who is a former member of Blue Cosmos, known as the infamous Grimm Reaper.
Zaft know the name too well because, the Reaper targeted only Zaft elites and takes great pleasure in beating them to a pulp like Rau Le Crueset during the first Valentine War, and said that he was beaten to near death by the Reaper himself but survive when he was found crawling towards a Zaft base, naked, malnourished and badly injured.
Rumor has it that, the Grimm Reaper scarred Crueset that he nearly went insane…maybe. It was said that, the Reaper used a branding iron, to burn a name on Rau chest and a face on his back. He took great pleasure in tormenting Rau for some reason and was not known why until a few years ago. that
A relative of the Reaper was murdered by Rau. A person who is involved in the Ultimate Coordinator Project led by Ulen Hibiki.
Rau somehow escape his captors and drag himself to a Zaft base, and at the course of the war, before Crueset was called in for a mission to Heliopolis, both Crueset and Ron butted heads again and again but Crueset has never outmatch Ron in every turn.
"I Hate that guy" Athrun growled as he mutters, remembering when they pulled out Ron Sterling from his ruin Mobile Suit the Strike Noir, badly injured but strong enough to still stand up and look at Athrun in the eye and then suddenly… Ron grab Athrun shoulders really tight like he's being held down… as Ron immediately gave Athrun a kick in the balls with his good leg but don't know how many times until Athrun lost consciousness until Ron finally gave him one iron fist to the face, which sent Athrun flying at the other end of the hanger.
The crew immediately try to subdue him but couldn't, and he only stops when Lacus came out and begged him to stop and he did. Thankfully, nobody died but will probably be in the hospital for several weeks and a bit embarrassed if people found out that the injuries they sustained was not due to combat but got beat up by one man.
Athrun didn't know at that time, and if he did, he would have probably avoided Ron Sterling like a damn plague. Athrun found out about the truth, two weeks after he woke up in the hospital with a rewired jaw … which Ron put him in.
Lacus explained to Athrun why Ron hates his guts so much, and it's because of what his father did to Ron father and his family. Athrun groans at Lacus explanation, that one of his old man ghost came back to haunt him, only this ghost became the embodiment of the Grimm Reaper, Zaft Boogieman and every coordinators worst nightmare.
'I just hope that I will never ever see that bastard ever again' Athrun thought
Somewhere in a private beach in Hawaii, a man under a beach umbrella relaxing, stops sipping his margaritas, looks up towards the Plants and snap his fingers, then, went back sipping his drink.
When Athrun, Ms. Simmons and Kisaka walk out of the elevator, they found themselves looking down at several nozzles of the barrel of an automatic machine gun held by what looks like special forces units.
"Reach for the sky ladies and gentlemen, less you want to be a human faucet" said one of them
Kisaka and Ms. Simmons raise their hands slowly and then one of them pointed his weapon at Athrun menacingly
"Go ahead and try it mother fucker," he warned Athrun with a venomous tone "There is nothing, that will make me happier than kill another space monster"
"Athrun don't" Kisaka warned shaking his head and he complied and raise his arms up as one of their captors pull out Kisaka and Athrun guns from their person and quickly push them out of the elevator towards one of the lab and see the rest of Morgenroete staff sitting down and surrounded by unknown soldiers, and looking worried.
Kisaka, takes a good look at their captors, from the way they handle themselves, their weapons, their gears and equipment, which looks outdated. All of which is are used by one military, the Earth Alliance. Also, the way the man spoke so hatefully, can only mean that they are remnants of Blue Cosmos.
Kisaka watch the other soldiers forcing to open one of the cargo containers with a decryption device as he whispers to Simmons asking
"What's in there?" Simmons replied with a whisper
"We bought a lot of stuff from a black-market auction a month ago. We haven't had time to inspect it yet" she said but quietly as to not attract attention
"Junkers found a partially intact Ha'tak and raided it with everything its worth. We were lucky enough to get so much"
When the cargo container was now open, they pulled out an airtight sealed box of some kind with Egyptian hieroglyphs. They open two boxes and inside one of them are twelve glass cylinders containing strange thick green glowing liquid inside and another is cylinder with some kind of powdery metallic substance and immediately one of them cheered.
"Jackpot! It's naquadah boys, and it's the military grade stuff!"
"Looks like the Blue Earth Corps hit the Jackpot boys!" exclaimed by one of them so loudly
"More than enough to kill every damn space monster in sight" said the man, most likely the leader "We can finally finish what Lord Djibril started. FOR THE PRESERVATION OF OUR BLUE AND PURE WORLD!" the man declared, and the other spoke the words together in chorus
'Naquadah…oh no!' Simmons just realized what it is and to have even just a small grain of naquadah could cause a Hiroshima size detonation if not handled properly. She knows that most of the Goa'uld technology are powered by Naquadah and some of it are diluted in liquid form to be used as a power sources for their weapons like the Jaffa staff weapons.
Two of the terrorist were conversing one another and one nodded in agreement and started ordering the others inspecting the containers
"Take one of the containers and, put a detonator and timer on, then hide it somewhere in the colony where nobody can find it, the rest we take it to our ship and head back to Artemis base…. then kill everyone here. Leave no witnesses be-,"
Suddenly, there was a bright orange sparks and smoke that smelled like burned flesh in front of the man. The leader, suddenly started coughing blood as he slowly he looks down on his chest to find a hole where his heart was.
He was dead before he hit the floor. Soon others fell from an assassin's bullet while the some found themselves face off unknown foes that appeared like ghost.
"EVERYONE! KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN!" yelled by that ghost and obediently, everyone kept their heads down while that ghost, (wearing an Halo, ODST Suit and sounded like James Earl Jones voice in Star Wars, Darth Vader) which is a man in a very high-tech suit of some kind carrying a mean looking assault rifle is killing BC thugs left and right while someone from the shadows is sniping anyone that tried to get behind the ghost.
The ghost like his name is appearing and disappearing while fighting off terrorist left and right with brutal efficiency and very strangely is fighting holding what look like a Jedi lightsaber. Meanwhile, other BC terrorists in other parts of the facilities, have found themselves being ambushed and dying quietly or brutally in the hands of other ghost units. Still some were spared and was on the floor hogtied and unconscious, most likely kept alive for questioning.
At the main facility, the last BC member died from beheading, all but one is left alive and he now hold a hostage for his survival.
"Stay back or I will kill her!" the man declared as he holds a woman in a vice grip while pointing a gun to her head
The ghost moves close just a few feet from him "Easy there"
"I said stay the fuck back!" the man panicky warned as the ghost opens his visor and suddenly the man stood still like a statue instead of being agitated, and what happens next is a surprise to all.
"You put down your gun and let go of the woman" the ghost spoke differently, and it was the voice of an old but regal man (Obiwan Kenobi), ordering him while gesturing his right hand in front of the man
"I put down my gun and let go of the woman" he replied to the demand and to the surprise of the others watching, he let go of his gun and the woman like so, and then the ghost said
"These are not the droids you are looking for"
"These are not the…what droids?" he asks in confusion and was answered with a knockout punch
The sound of people amused at what they saw, came from people wearing the same suits as the ghost
"What, are you a Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi now or a Sith Lord, Darth Vader?" one of them a female judging from the voice asks with amusement
The ghost changes the tone of his voice "Nah! It's something I always wanted to do"
He removes his helmet to reveal the face behind the masks "grab all the naquadah you can find and get out of here. I'll stay behind"
"Yes sir!"
"Colonel Sterling? You son of a," Athrun started cursing as he's standing up as did the rest
"Well hello there Athrun, so how's little Athrun feeling?" Ron inquires amusedly while Athrun instinctively put his hands between his legs like a shield while he growled at Ron.
"What are you doing here Col. Sterling" Kisaka demanded
"Tracking your black-market cargo treasure Colonel Kisaka" he replied as he put away his lightsaber
"Found out about these guys were planning to raid on your facility. Lousy security if you ask me" he remark as one of Ron team threw a tide up man in front of them.
The man is a Morgenroete engineer.
"This guy here tip-off these idiots about your prize, including giving them the means to access your facility undetected" he said shaking his head in disapproval
"Morgenroete has the worst record of keeping classified information from other people" he remarks
"But how the hell did these BC terrorists get into the colony? Security have been tightened since," Athrun was demanding until he heard Ron snorted
"You should revise the meaning of the word security Zala, otherwise this incident will not be last time that Blue Cosmos will cause trouble"
"What did you say?"
He pointed at the dead leader now unmasked "recognize him? no, I do, he is the captain of the cargo carrier, Barbary Dragons, an inter-freight vessel that belongs to a company called Canary Is. Freight Service owned by Ben Ali which is amusing since Barbary Dragons and Ben Ali are all fictional pirate from Hugh Lofting novels, the Story of Doctor Dolittle"
"How would you know that?"
"I read a lot of books Zala, also my father told it to me this as a bedtime stories when I was a kid, Zala" Ron replied
"This is an organized heist using BC terrorism as a cover to misdirect the authorities in their investigation" he pointed at the surveillance cameras. The terrorist killed the security detail but left the cameras continue to record both visual and audio.
"So, these guys are thieves pretending to be BC?" Kisaka asks
"Oh, some of them are definitely Blue Cosmos, the others are just a bunch of hired thugs from some organized crime group that was paid by this guy here" Ron grabbed another dead man head by the hair and raise him as he took out his smartphone and picture the man face then drop him.
Ron phone has a facial recognition software and instantly identify the dead man from its databanks and showed it to the others of the man identity.
Kisaka read the record of the dead man and shows that officially, he is an executive in the Canary Is. Freight Service that operates in every part of Earth Sphere except for the AF territories because like all companies and businesses that are based from the CSA, they are banned from entering.
Unofficially, he belongs to the CSA Naval Intelligence and a former member of Blue Cosmos.
"On paper, Canary Is. Freight Service operations are legitimate, however it's a front company for the CSA Naval Intelligence covert operations" Ron explained
"Blue Earth Corps got wind that Morgenroete got a cargo full of goodies from a wreck Ha'tak at the black-market auction. I also heard that the Sahaku family forward the money for the whole shebang. A King's Ransom they said… So how much was it?" Ron queries
"That's none of your business" Kisaka snap at Ron
"Fine, but we are still taking the Naquadah" Ron said, "You can have the rest,"
"You can't take that, that's Orb property!" Kisaka protested
"I am not leaving hazardous materials for you to play with and accidentally blow yourself and everyone to kingdom come Colonel"
"But we bought all that," Athrun jumps into the argument but was immediately cut off
"In a black-market auction which according to international law, is highly illegal and If you have bought it from a legal salvage auction house who actually pays taxes, then there wouldn't be any problem"
"That still doesn't give you the right to take it" Athrun exclaimed and relented "The salvage was done in international territory and they not your property!"
"No, but we save your ass from getting shot, so as a reward, we will take the naquadah as a reward"
"But you can't,"
"YES! WE CAN! And if we haven't save your damn assess from getting shot at, we wouldn't be talking right now. YOU AND ALL OF YOU, would be on that floor swimming in a pool of your own blood and Cagalli would be crying her eyes out for a dead man!" Ron shouted back which stunned Athrun as the mental image of Cagalli down on her knees looking down at him and crying.
That thought did not go well with him
"Be grateful we were here putting an end to these guys, otherwise these guys would have killed you and they'd be planting a naquadah bomb somewhere and in the colonies that everyone would be running around looking for it before it decimated half of the Plants colonies!"
"We are taking it, and that is final. Unless you want to try your luck with me, well you are welcome to try" the sound knuckles clicking emphasize Ron would gladly kick their butts without hesitation
"Athrun, Colonel Kisaka" Ms. Simmons called them and calmly she said
"Let them take it"
"But, Ms. Simmons we can't," she did not give Kisaka or Athrun any room for argument
"We are alive and unhurt because of him, and he could have let us die but he didn't and if you try to fight him now, then that would be saying that we are ungrateful for saving us" she looks to Ron
"You can take the naquadah Mr. Sterling"
"Thank You"
Ron's people installed a strange disk shape device on top of the sealed airtight boxes and pressed a button on it, and to their surprise the boxes levitated six inches above the ground and with ease, and they push the boxes forward like it was completely weightless.
When the last of Ron team left the facility, he threw a USB flash drive to Kisaka who curious of what's in it.
"There are files of Blue Cosmos members and anti-coordinator groups planning to or most likely running around the Plants already" Ron explained as he put his helmet back on and speak thru the voice box
"Give it to those Zaft idiots before these guys starts making trouble for the Plants"
"I thought you don't like the Plants"
"I do," he answered, "what I don't like is being accused of something that I didn't do even more"
"Oh, and by the way Athrun," Ron open his visor and Athrun made eye contact as he gestures his right hand in front of him and said to him with the voice of Darth Tyrannus, "When you see Kira Yamato face, you will kiss him on the lips and declare your love to him"
"When I see Kira Yamato face, I will kiss him on the lips and declare my love to him" he obediently said
"Good, very good" Ron said in the voice of Darth Sidious and then Ron disappeared like a ghost in front of everyone with the cackling voice as he fades from view just as Athrun snapped out of his trance and immediately look around
"Uhh, where is he… and what just happened?" He asks both Kisaka and Ms. Simmons who look stunned and are not exactly sure how Athrun will react to what Ron just did to him
"Should I?" Ms. Simmons offered to explain
"No, I'll do it" Kisaka said
"Uhmmn, Athrun…you are not gonna like what Mr. Sterling did just now…if what he did is what we think it was"
"What?"
Somewhere in the underground maintenance tunnels, the real Blue Earth Corps are getting on board a semitruck when they heard the echoes of a screaming voice of a guy who just got screwed.
"RON STERLING, YOU SONOABITCH, REAPER OR NOT, I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"
It took a second for everyone to realize what just happen up there, and they all fail in stifling their laughs of what the head honcho of their group just did.
"Ahh, music to my ears" said Ron with a satisfactory grin on his face
"Sir, you didn't actually do what we think you just did, do you? I mean that Anything Goes Martial Arts Jedi mind trick thing?"
"It's kinda evil, I mean people already think that he's gay or something which he is not"
