Hey guys, I'm back! So I do intend to upload more frequently since the world has gone kind of crazy recently. Hope you're all staying safe and thank you all for still following this story, it means so much to me!

Third Person POV

Victory. Something the rebels of Onderon have become familiar with. The small band had expanded, gaining the trust of the citizens, they have been able to achieve a collection of victories. From overthrowing the droid occupation to saving King Dendup. Ahsoka was assigned to monitor the progress of the rebels, whilst Anakin, Rex and Obi-Wan returned to Corucaunt, much to Anakin's dismay. She knew that she could not lose sight of the mission, she must ensure the rebels were to win their small war. Her feelings grew more intense for the young senator, especially after seeing how close he and Steela became after each victory. Ahsoka was thrilled that she had seen the rebels through all of this, but at great cost. She still feels a tremendous amount of guilt for her death.

Celebrations of the rebels' success were put in order, the people of Onderon were now free of the Separatist's grasp. Ahsoka, Lux and Saw were to meet with the king at the palace, Obi-Wan and Anakin were already at the palace. The night before the celebrations were to take place, Ahsoka and the remainder of the rebels were in the palace, discussing the preparation of the ceremony. The rebels sat around a large rectangular table, with Dendup at the head, the three Jedi stood behind the king, overlooking the proceedings. All individuals could sense the overwhelming feeling of sadness across the room, Ahsoka kept her head lowered as she could not shake the feeling of guilt. Anakin saw how Ahsoka was hurting over the untimely death of Steela, and how her loss had impacted her greatly, as she became distant from the meeting.

"We need a memorial for Steela." Saw said sheepishly. Lux nodded in agreeance.

"It would be a good way to honour her memory." Lux spoke. Even the mentioning of Steela was too much for everyone in the room, her demise had affected everyone who grew attached to her. King Dendup acknowledged Saw's request and granted the grieving brother a memorial for his sister.

Once proceedings with the king were finished, everyone retired to their quarters for the night. Anakin and Obi-Wan noticed Ahsoka's demeaner, how her thoughts centred around Steela and how she felt responsible for her demise. The two elder Jedi strutted across the palace to retire to their rooms.

"This has really been a learning curve for our Padawan." Obi-Wan said whilst stroking his beard. The two were side by side, staring down the winding corridors of the palace. Anakin murmured in agreement. They were both aware of what Ahsoka had experienced on this mission, and how it would affect her. Not only did she battle to suppress her feelings towards Senator Bonteri, she too witnessed the death of Steela, which she felt responsible for.

"Ahsoka has definitely been challenged this mission, although I don't think it was wise to leave her here on her own." Anakin chirped, the auburn-haired Jedi disagreed with his old Padawan.

"Anakin, you need to remember, Ahsoka is growing more mature. Experiences like this mission are essential for her, she's not the young girl we first met." Anakin sighed, Obi-Wan was right, Ahsoka is growing up. He had to accept it and let her take on more responsibilities, even if he was reluctant to the idea.

The two Jedi continued to walk the long corridors until they bumped into Ahsoka, both could sense the sadness emanating from her. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even realise Anakin and Obi-Wan stood before her.

"Hey, Snips." Anakin spoke cheerfully, startling his Padawan. She looked at them both and forced a weak smile, the Togruta had not spoken to them since they had arrived back on Onderon. She had been too preoccupied processing the recent end of the small war.

"Oh. Hi, Masters." She was exhausted both mentally and physically and the effects were starting to show.

"You look tired, Ahsoka. I think you should head off to your room." The young Jedi nodded and left to retire for the evening. Anakin turned to Obi-Wan.

"I'll speak to her tomorrow, once she's rested." The older Jedi nodded and withdrew to his room.

Ahsoka tossed and turned in her bed, her thoughts gnawing at her, she took it upon herself to get fresh air. She began roaming the eerie and silent halls of the palace, not knowing where her journey was going to end. After a while of wandering the maze-like corridors, Ahsoka found an exit to a balcony, in which she was met with the silhouette of Saw Gerrera. As the door opened, he didn't look to see who was joining him, he leaned over the balcony, focused on the ongoing celebrations in the city. Ahsoka turned to leave the grieving man to his thoughts.

"Don't leave. Please." She paused and continued over to his side to gaze upon the bright lights of the partygoers, the two stood in silence, admiring the views of the Iziz now the citizens were free again.

"I'm sorry I couldn't save her." Ahsoka whispered, lowering her head in shame. Saw shut his eyes tight.

"It's not your fault, Commander. You tried everything you could." The two turned to face one another, sadness radiating from them both. Ahsoka hugged herself, wincing as she had briefly forgotten the injury to her arm. Saw gestured to Ahsoka's arm.

"How's your arm?" He asked, with concern. Ahsoka slightly shrugged and dismissed his question.

"Nothing that won't heal." Was all she said.

"You don't have to act tough around me, Commander." Ahsoka smirked.

"Call me Ahsoka, Saw." She said letting down her guard. Ahsoka could sense his mind was put to ease. The roar of the city continued as the two stood leaning on the balcony wall in silence once again.

"How's Bonteri doing?" Ahsoka's breath hitched at the mentioning of Lux's name.

"I… don't know." Was all she could respond, she hadn't spoken to Lux since they had lost Steela, so truthfully, she had no idea how he was doing.

"He was very close to my sister." Ahsoka's heart sank, she knew of the feelings Steela had for him but, it still hurt to hear it. Saw could see Ahsoka's facial expression change from the corner of his eye. She didn't respond to him.

"I'm sorry if I upset you… Ahsoka." She peeled her gaze away from Iziz and faced Saw, making eye contact once again. They both knew Steela was extremely fond of Lux, much to Ahsoka's dismay.

"He was always close to her… but not in the way you think," Ahsoka perked up upon hearing the words fall out of Saw's mouth. "She always liked him, but Lux had eyes for someone else." Saw admitted, Ahsoka didn't want to admit it but, she needed to hear that. She stood dumbfounded over Saw's words.

"Someone else?" She asked, ushering him to continue.

"When Bonteri first came to Onderon, he was very shy and timid, not knowing what direction to take. Steela took a liking to him almost instantly, she knew his mother was our senator and thought he would be essential for us rebels, she quickly grew feelings for him." Ahsoka was gripping to every word Saw was saying, he was telling her what she needed to hear in that moment.

"Bonteri liked Steela but, he loved another girl." She couldn't believe what she was being told, the Padawan grew increasing closer towards Saw as he was telling her the story. He could tell she was invested in his story.

"He would often talk about her, how she could never return his affection for reasons he couldn't explain, but that didn't deter him from loving her. This made Steela… jealous." Ahsoka was in shock, she stood with her mouth slightly agape, not believing what Saw was saying.

"I-I never knew" She trailed off. Saw smirked, knowing that Ahsoka was the girl Lux loved.

"You see, Ahsoka, none of us knew who Bonteri's mystery girl was until- " Suddenly, she had put two and two together.

"Until you met me." Ahsoka said cutting him off. Saw nodded.

"He was the one who suggested contacting the Jedi Council for help, he knew you would do anything to assist us. Bonteri's attitude changed once you arrived, and we all noticed the shift, Ahsoka." As the truth kept pouring from Saw, Ahsoka began to rapidly think, she couldn't believe any of what she was being told. She lowered her head and stared at the floor attempting to gather her thoughts. All this time, she had believed Lux loved Steela and had forgotten their history together.

"I noticed how he was with you a few nights ago, and so did Steela, so she insisted on getting involved." Memories of that night came flooding in for Ahsoka, she remembered how Steela meddled with hers and Lux's reunion, looking back on that night she recalled the talk she had with her Masters. Ahsoka was once again conflicted between what Saw had just told her and the path of the Jedi. Here she was, unable to decide which direction she wants to follow, Saw had just told her that Lux has loved her all along and all she could hear were the voices of Anakin, advising her to put purpose ahead of feelings. Saw became growingly concerned for the young Togruta.

"Are you okay?" Asked Saw, breaking Ahsoka out of her trance. She looked over to him with wide eyes.

"I think I should go back to my quarters." She uttered.

"I'll walk you back." Both Ahsoka and Saw turned away from the balcony and once again to the labyrinth corridors of the palace. Ahsoka thanked her companion for escorting her back to her room, once inside she crashed onto the bed and succumb to her thoughts. The Padawan kept reviewing the same thoughts over and over, unable to fall asleep once again. There was a persistent feeling in the pit of her stomach that she could not put her finger on it, however it had something to do with Lux.

Tossing and turning on her bed, Ahsoka had the impulse to get up and leave her room once again but this time, she had the impulse to see Lux. She shot up from her bed and began running towards Lux's room, adrenaline taking over her body. Ahsoka still wasn't completely sure if she was about to do the right thing. The halls of the palace were dimly lit from the lights of the city, guiding Ahsoka to her destination. Stopping abruptly, she found herself stood at Lux's door. Ahsoka was panting heavily from her sprint across the palace, her heart racing, she once again debated with her feelings. She raised her hand to knock at the door in front of her but paused, unsure if she should go ahead with her next move. Taking a deep breath, she lightly tapped her bare knuckles against the door. Her forehead slightly damp from perspiring. After a few brief moments, the door slid open and revealed a still sleepy Lux.

"Ahsoka?" He asked confused. Ahsoka stood before him frozen, unable to speak or move. Lux's senses began to adjust to the situation.

"Um… can I come in? Please?"

"Of course," Lux moved aside to allow the young Jedi to enter his quarters, "what brings you here, Ahsoka?" Lux asked, Ahsoka's lips were still sealed. She turned to face the young senator and began stuttering.

"I-I just wanted to see how you were doing… we haven't spoken since earlier…" Ahsoka was unable to maintain eye contact with Lux when she finally spoke up.

"I'm fine. How is your shoulder?" Lux said pointing to her right arm, catching Ahsoka's attention.

"It's fine." Silence fell upon them both once again after their short conversation. Lux was confused as to why Ahsoka needed to see him at this hour just to ask how he was doing, nonetheless, he was happy she was in his company. Silence continued to fill the air, until Lux spoke again.

"'Soka? Can I ask why you're really here?" The young Jedi shivered at him using her pet name, his question through her off and she began to feel her heart racing again, she didn't know how to answer his question. She gulped and decided to tell him everything that was on her mind.

"I needed to talk to you, Lux," He sat down on his bed and patted a spot on his bed for her to sit beside him, she perched herself on his bed and noticed it was still warm from where Lux had been laying. "you know we leave tomorrow evening and I have no idea when we'll next meet, Lux." Ahsoka stated with a hint of sadness. Lux was aware that the two of them may not meet for some while, as Ahsoka will be off travelling the galaxy fighting for the Republic in the war, while he'll be staying put on Onderon. He looked into her big eyes and could see the sadness emerging from them, Lux loved Ahsoka's eyes. Her blue eyes were still as bright in the dim light of the room.

"I know, 'Soka. It's going to be hard not seeing you every day."

"That's why I've come to see you… I've spoken to Saw." She trailed off. His facial expression changed at the mention of Saw, once again reminded of the tragedy that had taken place earlier that day.

"How is he?" The senator uttered, with a hint of sadness. Ahsoka turned to face Lux, with a sad expression across her face. Without saying a word, Lux knew that Saw and Ahsoka were both too struggling to come to terms with the loss of Steela. Lux creeped his hand over to Ahsoka's to give reassurance that she was not alone, his movement caused her to flinch but she soon allowed the gesture. The young senator could see how Ahsoka blamed herself, and the ongoing inner battle she was suffering, he gave Ahsoka's hand a slight squeeze.

"I don't blame you, 'Soka." She turned to face him again, a slight look of shock was present on her face. In truth, Ahsoka knew what happened to Steela was an accident, but she still felt responsible. Lux smiled softly in an attempt to comfort the young Jedi.

"What happened to Steela… it wasn't your fault." Lux became engulfed in Ahsoka's deep eyes, he was reminded just how beautiful she was in this moment, the subtle light creeping in from the window helped highlight her features.

She was able to smile weakly at him, hearing him say that put the Padawan's mind at ease slightly. The two found themselves in silence and staring into one another's eyes, both reminding themselves of the strong connection they shared on both Raxus and Carlac. So much had happened in that short amount of time.

"Ahsoka… I don't want us to go our separate ways again." Lux admitted. Ahsoka shot him a confused expression, he gave her hand another subtle squeeze.

"I know, Lux." Ahsoka whispered. She was aware that their time together was limited, as it always was but she just could not bear the thought of never crossing paths with the senator again. Looking down at both of their hands, she realised her feelings for Lux had only grown stronger, even though she had to ignore them as the Jedi Code demanded she were to have no attachments. Lux began to rub his thumb over her petite hand, she watched as he did this and smiled at his affection and looked up into his eyes once again.

"Ahsoka… I love you." Those three words were enough to convince Ahsoka of she believed was the right choice. Without hesitation, the young Togruta grabbed Lux by his collar and smacked her lips against his, Lux was only eager to retaliate the sudden kiss. The two had not shared a kiss since their time on Carlac and this experience is still fairly new to them both. The nightlife celebrations continued to buzz in the background of the two love-stricken teenagers. Ahsoka pulled away to catch her breath and smiled.

"I love you too, Lux." The young senator raised his lips. Ahsoka pounced back to Lux, their lips pressed together again. Lux slowly lowered Ahsoka down onto the bed, their lips still locked. Ahsoka inhaled sharply when her shoulder hit the bed, Lux pulling back and apologising for harming her accidently, only for Ahsoka to plant another kiss on Lux's lips. She ran her hands through his brown locks and wrapped her legs around her lover, pulling them closer together. Memories of their previous encounters replayed in both of their minds.

"Are you sure you want to do this, 'Soka?" Lux questioned. She nodded and the two began to engage in an all-familiar passion. Their time together may be short, but now all they had in this moment was each other. The recent battles and tragedies of the last few days were no longer recurring in their thoughts, all that existed in that moment was the two of them and their love for eachother.
