I threw one of Eddie's large grey hoodie's over my head and pulled the strings tight to try and hide the large hickey on my throat, not wanting to give my aunt Karen a heart attack. Eddie made no such effort. Thankfully Karen and Ted were out when we arrived and Mike beckoned us into the kitchen to grab snacks, "I'm so stoked for tonight - it's the penultimate game before the finale of this campaign, how d'you think I've done so far?" He scoffed a few brownies and spoke with his mouth full. Whilst he and Eddie chatted about Mike's DM skills I wandered down to the basement where Will, Dustin, Erica and Lucas were setting up for the night. "Hey guys, how's it goin?" I asked. They each raised a hand in greeting, Will came to stand beside me and struck up a quiet conversation, "Hey - I know Mike told you about us, I just wanna say thanks for not mentioning it to anyone." I ruffled his hair, "of course dude, you guys can tell me anything, I'll be here for you." Will's eyes shone with gratitude, "We've actually been talking about telling the guys, I suggested we tell Karen and Ted too but Mike isn't sold on that yet." He said just as Eddie and Mike descended into the basement. "I think the guys would be super stoked about the two of you - and Mike will be ready to tell his parents eventually, just give it time." I whispered before saddling over to Eddie's side. It was pretty dim down in the basesment so no one seemed to notice the hickey on Eddie's neck when he removed his jackets; everyone continued talking amongst themselves as the two of us stole glances at each other.
Finally Jeff and Gareth arrived, bumping shoulders with the guys as they took their places around the table. Jeff gave me a wan smile when he noticed me standing in the corner, "hey Rain, you joining us tonight?" He asked. Shaking my head, I was about to reply when Gareth intervened, "The party is full and we don't need any subs, they can't just expect to jump into any session because they're banging Munson." There was a nasty tone in his voice and I wasn't sure how to respond, thankfully Mike chimed in, "You're here to hang with Nance right?" I nodded enthusiastically and headed towards the steps. Eddie came to slip an arm around my shoulder and kiss my hair before I left, shuffling past Gareth, who noticed the mark on his neck. "Are you fucking kidding me?" He dramatically sighed, "We don't need to see that shit. At least Rain has the decency to cover up. Why'd you have to go round advertising that Eddie?" Eddie's arm tightened rounds my shoulders defensively, "Chill out man, the hell is wrong with you? It's a hickey, the only thing I'm advertising is who I belong to." At this Mike mimed vomiting with embarrassment and I felt heat rising to my face, so quickly turned to kiss Eddie's cheek and ran up the steps. Nancy was sitting at her desk scribbling in a notepad, barely acknowledging I was in her room. "Earth to Nancy..." I cooed as I sat on her neatly made bed. Nancy flinched and spun, "Crap, sorry I was catching up with some work before tomorrow." She moved the chair to face me and crossed one leg over the other. "How's your weekend been?" her question was totally innocent but my entire face burned and I tried to hide beneath my bangs. Nancy gasped, "You did it didn't you!" Slapping my hands to my face I nodded and Nancy jumped on the bed next to me. "I knew you would, and I bet he didn't care about - y'know.." She trailed off and glanced at my stomach.
My lips drew back into a smile, "It was amazing, seriously the best I've ever had, and holy shit Nance he's huge!" I gushed, feeling a tingling in my groin when I thought about the size of Eddie. "I uh, wanted to thank you for the...y'know," I said. Now it was her turn to become bright red. "Why did you have that anyway? I thought you said you didn't wanna hook up with Steve this weekend." In response Nancy let out an emotional sigh, "After Jonathan and I ended, I went a little crazy on the rebound so, I made sure I always had an emergency pill with me just in case. At the party I was a little tipsy, Steve was walking me back to the car and I kissed him." I tried to keep my face neutral, but inside I was hoping they didn't do anything, Steve and Nancy just weren't meant to be (in my opinion anyway). Nancy continued, "He kissed me back at first, but it kinda fell flat when I tried getting more outta him. I feel like such an idiot Rain. In his car I tried touching him and he just turned away." Oh thank god. "Told me he didn't want anything to happen because I was drunk, and he'd rather take it slow if we were gonna do anything. Asked me out to dinner this week." She was fidgeting with her hands as she spoke. "Are you going?" I asked. "I'm attracted to him - he's insanely attractive. And he's changed so much since we first met. I wanted to sleep with him, but when he asked me out and said we'd go slow I just...didn't feel it." Nancy sighed. I started to understand what she was trying to say, "You're not looking to date Steve again - yet - but you wanna get over Jonathan by getting under him?" I said. Nancy fell back on her mattress with a groan, "I hate men."
