Hello to the people reading. I hope you're having a semi pleasant day! School started up a few weeks ago, so I'll do my best to publish whenever I have time.

Another quick thing I would like to address, I know technically the spartans would worship Ares, but I wanted to add a little twist onto this story. So I guess you can call me religiously incorrect haha but it's just a personal writing twist I suppose.

Chapter 5 - Making Up

(Percy's POV)

I awoke to the singing of the birds, the chirping of the crickets, and the smell of fresh rain. I got off the grass that I had flattened overnight and looked around. It seemed to have rained everywhere around me, I thought about why that was before finally coming to the conclusion that Poseidon was the one to thank for this. I sent him a thank you mentally, I figured gods could probably hear the thanks people send everyday.

I sighed before grabbing my items, sword and shield, then started the walk to the actual camp. During the 7 minute walk I thought about Aris. I knew that I didn't want to make him my enemy, I knew he hated me for some unknown reason. I was determined to figure out why.

I arrived to the smell of breakfast, meat was hanging over a campfire slowly cooking. Bread was laid out, waiting for the meat to finish cooking. Delia was sitting looking into the fire, lost in thought. I smirked before I slowly snuck up behind her, then I yelled,

"BOO"

Delia sprang out of her seat, letting out a not so warrior-like cry. When she saw me rolling on the ground laughing, she stomped up to me angrily.

"PERSEUS THAT WAS NOT FUNNY.", she exclaimed loudly. I stared at her face, seeing her so angry I couldn't help but keep laughing. She just punched my shoulder and walked back to the campfire. I rubbed my now throbbing shoulder before walking to the Big House. I found Chiron watching over the small garden near the Big House.

"What can I do for you Perseus?", he asked me.

"Oh nothing Chiron, just came to chat. I'm really waiting for breakfast to get done, I'm starving", I let out a small chuckle. Chiron just sighed.

"Perseus, I have something I need to talk to you about. It's about Aris.", I looked up towards Chiron, and tilted my head sideways.

"You must figure out your differences like I've said before. I will not tolerate you two fighting and creating chaos inside of this camp. Inside of this camp we should all be friends. Because you sure won't find any friends outside of this camp. Everyone and everything out there-", he gestured to the forest, "Would either like to kill you or take advantage of you. Here all I would like to do is make sure you are able to survive living out there. Do you understand?"

I sighed. I knew this had been coming, the worst part was I knew it was all true.

"I know Chiron. I was just thinking about this very topic as I walked over here. I will do my best to figure out why Aris dislikes me. I have some suspicion of the cause.", I told him.

He nodded then said, " Oh and Perseus. I know this is a lot to ask, especially since you got here just two days ago. But you are the oldest here. You are, well, the first demigod. They may have gotten to camp first, but you are the eldest, make sure that you control yourself please.", I just nodded in response to his message. He turned away from me and went to water his garden. That left me standing near the Big House waiting for breakfast to be finished.

"DELIA?" I yelled.

"YEAH?", I heard her yell back.

"HOW LONG TILL BREAKFAST?", I shouted back. There was a few seconds of silence before she answered.

"A FEW MINUTES", she said. I raised my hand and gave her a thumbs up. I sighed as I wandered around camp trying to figure out what I should do. Suddenly Cassie jumped out at me. I stumbled backwards before I tripped and fell onto my butt.

"Man.. Cassie, you scared the crap out of me!", I told her.

"Truly graceful Perseus", she told me before chuckling. I joined in her laugh, breathing in the cool, fresh air. I let out a deep breath before taking the hand that Cassie offered me.

"Forgive me Perseus, it may have been my intent to scare you..", she told me.

I chuckled saying, "You sure did get me good, I had no idea it was coming." She just shrugged before saying

"What can I say, I have some good practice hiding."

"What do you mean?", I inquired.

She got a far away look in her eyes, as if she was remembering something.

"Just some stuff from my past.", she finally said. I nodded my head in understanding, it seems no one here has had a particularly nice past.

"Well, Cassie, whatever the reason, you sure do make for a good prankster. I'll plan my revenge accordingly…" I told her.

"Is that a threat I hear Perseus?", a competitive edge in her voice.

"Maybe it is… Maybe it isn't. Who knows?", I told her, smirking. She rolled her eyes and gave me a playful shove. I smiled thinking about how nice it was to be able to talk to other people, have friends to mess around with. In Sparta, the academy; you had no friends. Only allies. Allies aren't the same as friends, I was finding that out quickly.

"We should get going for breakfast, it should be done by now.", I told her. She nodded, and we walked off towards the small fire that contained breakfast.

I took a seat next to Cassie as Delia pulled some strips of meat off of the stone that served as an oven. I noticed Aris arriving but as normal, we didn't say a word to each other as he sat down. I sat staring off into space, wondering what was next. I knew that I had only one goal in mind, and that was to avenge Sparta, and keep the legacy of Sparta's deeds alive.

I suddenly snapped out of my stupor as I noticed a piece of meat swinging side to side in front of my face. Confused I looked up at the hand then towards the face; I saw Delia there barely containing her laughter as she looked at my face.

"Perseus you really are not on guard today", Delia told me, as her laughter rolled out uncontained.

Rolling my eyes, I said, "Yeah yeah, whatever, thanks for the breakfast.", I took the piece of meat and started eating with everyone else.

Time Skip - 5 Months - Still at Camp

"Oh man, training sucked today.", Delia told me as we walked back towards camp. I nodded my agreement, the last two months training had gotten a lot harder. The difficulty of everything in general had increased, more running, longer sparring, and so on. Chiron seemed hell bent to work us to death.

"I wonder why Chiron called a meeting. Seems strange and out of place, especially this time of year.", Delia continued. I had to agree, it was the fall season, leaves painted the ground, red, yellow, brown.

"Maybe it's his birthday and he wants to celebrate", I said. Delia snorted and just shook her head. I chuckled, we both knew that Chiron isn't one to celebrate her birthday.

We arrived at the big house, as we had come to call it. There Chiron stood waiting for us, Aris and Cassie had already arrived. I looked towards Aris and he simply gave me a sour look in return. In the five months since our incident, we hadn't made up. Granted we hadn't gotten into anymore fights since then. I had done my best to cut that out of my life, mainly due to what Chiron said. However, the young son of Ares didn't feel like forgiving me for my mysterious wrongdoing.

"Pupils. The time has come to tell you this. You've all sharpened your skills to the point that I can no longer help you improve. I have grown to have much appreciation for each and every one of you. I hope that the grudges", he took a moment to look between me and Aris, "clear up. I hope that you all become friends, and serve the gods.", he finished sadly.

"So what does this mean? I mean where are we supposed to go now?", Cassie asked.

"I won't tell you where to go, however, as some advice from an old friend. I think the best place for you to go is the Oracle. It only makes sense that the gods would want their kids to carve Greek history.", Chiron said. He looked once at all of us before saying, "I have something for each of you, a gift from me. I hope you like them, of course you don't have to keep them. Feel free to use them for whatever you might need."

He walked into the cabin and hauled out four wool bags and set them on the ground.

"First, Cassie.", He said. He pulled out a spear, I wasn't even going to ask how it fit in the bag. What I did want to know who made this spear because it was pulsing with power. A purplish liquid dripped off the tip of it, though after a few drops it seemingly never ended.

"What is it..?", Cassie asked Chiron.

"A gift from your mother, Demeter.", Chiron said. As he said that a symbol appeared above Cassie's head, it was green and seemed to have a poppy on the inside, it faded after only a few seconds.

"What was that Chiron?", Aris asked. For once, I also wished to know what that thing was floating above Cassie's head.

"I assume it's how the gods 'claim' their children. Zeus was talking to me about it, they need to show other demigods and gods who their children are. This is how they do it.", Chiron answered. We all just stared at him, waiting for him to continue onwards.

Chiron coughed then said, "Well anyways, Cassie, your mother blessed this for you and says it is a gift for you. And that she is extremely proud of you. She also wishes for you to go to the Oracle."

Cassie sniffed, I thought it was a stuffy nose before I looked over at her and saw her crying.

Cassie then ran up to Chiron and said, "Thank you Chiron, thank you for everything." She slowly took the spear, her tears gone. She started testing the weight of the spear.

"I would've preferred a knife but, this will do just fine. The weight is perfect. Although, Chiron, what is this stuff at the end of the spear?", She said.

"Ah, that is poison. Probably a plant based poison, so it most likely wouldn't harm you. However, if you were to stab anyone else here, I have a feeling that we might die a very painful death, or perhaps we would be paralyzed for life. I have no idea what may happen to us, child.", Chiron said.

Cassie turned towards me and thrust the spear forward, my reflex kicked in and I jumped backwards, landing on my back.

I looked up and saw Cassie laughing.

"I can't believe you thought I was actually going to stab you?", Cassie said through her giggles.

"Never be too careful!", I announced in a sheepish way as I stood up. I looked towards Chiron and saw him just rolling his eyes.

"Anyways you two calm down now. I still have three more gifts to hand out. Aris, I suppose you're next.", Chiron said. For the first time in forever, I saw Aris smiling. I suppose even people like him can smile once in a while.

"Your father gave this to you." He pulled out a war-ax. It was a goldish color, glittering in the sunlight. To be honest, I could barely stand the sight of it, it was blinding.

Aris stepped forward and took the war ax. He looked it over then smiled again and yelled, "I will make you proud father!" A symbol of a war ax appeared above his head.

"Very well, I'm sure you will make your father proud, Aris. Now Delia, I have something for you. Or, rather, your father has something for you.", Chiron said, as he pulled out a beautiful bow. It was made of a white wood that I didn't even know existed. It was as white as untouched snow. I admired the engravings on the wood, which depicted scenes of underwater triumph.

Wait. Underwater triumph? Why would that be on there, the god of the seas is my father..

It connected faster than lightning striking the ground, my head snapped to where Delia was standing, with a sea green trident symbol above her head. I sat down, I had a sister. I slowly started to smile, I already had found my new family. Chiron looked at me knowingly, I just smiled at him.

"And last but not least, Perseus. I have something from your father as well", in a hushed tone he added, "take care of your sister too." I nodded and gave him a small smile.

Chiron nodded in return then turned towards the last bag. He pulled out a sword sheath. He looked towards me and handed over the sword, I slowly took it out of his hands. The sheath was a simple dark brown, with nothing but a P towards the top of it. The leather felt new on my hands as I ran my hands over it. The strap allowed for me to store it on my back if need be. I slowly pulled out the sword, it was a metal that I'd never seen before. The sword glittered a translucent white, as I pulled it further and further out I noticed bits of a bronzeish color along with gold flecks. I heard Chiron gasp.

"That's Adamantine, mixed with imperium gold and celestial bronze I believe.", He said. "You have a very desirable sword, Perseus."

I stared at the sword in awe, it seemed that my father had worked hard to get me this gift, I swore to myself that I would make him proud.

"Well that's all I have for you. Good luck on your journey's, and stay safe demigods. Do good in the name of the gods.", Chiron said.

With that, we went to bed with the knowledge that when the sun rose, we would no longer be students at camp half blood.

I wrote like 50% of this in math class haha, although I did ace the last test WoooHooo!
