A fluffy little interlude before Dylan finally gets a real taste of SAMCRO. I hope you enjoy. Thank you for all the reviews!
Opie woke up to the sound of the shower running. Rolling over the clock read 7:45 am. Apparently his girl was an early riser. Stretching he stayed in bed thinking over how easy his first moments were with Dylan. Small doubts lingered, especially her attitude about the club. It was the main reason Donna left. Jerking his head to the bathroom door, he watched Dylan come out dressed for work.
Damn it…how does one make jeans look that good? Dylan had on dark wash jeans and a three quarter black blouse on. Minimal make-up and her hair in a low bun. He could get used to looking at this.
"Morning beautiful," he said. Dylan smiled at him.
"Morning handsome, sleep well?" Dylan came around sitting on the edge of the bed. Opie was quick to pull her against him, kissing her forehead.
"Best sleep in years, you?"
"Good, glad I didn't wake you when I got up for a run," Dylan traced down his arm biting her lip.
"What is it baby?" Opie asked.
"I just hope I am everything you are wanting," Dylan whispered. Opie sighed, awkwardly adjusting so he could sit up with his woman against him.
"You are. This will take some getting used to. We just have to be open I think, talk shit out," Opie said stroking her hair.
"Yeah, I know. I just…I want to be a good old lady I guess. The club is new to me and I don't want to mess that up. I get not knowing everything, I don't think I want to. But I do love you and support you. But I'm not going to always want to hang around the lot, I have my own stuff I like to do."
Opie considered her words. His doubts were eased a bit, and he could understand her nerves. He had no doubts she would be a great old lady, she had that something in her. Grit and grace he guessed. And she needed her own things to do.
"I get it. I like you have your own shit. We'll find a balance, just have an open mind tomorrow," Opie said kissing her forehead again.
"I can do that. Give me a real kiss Harry," Dylan pouted, knowing his first name would rile him up.
Opie cupped her cheeks and pressed his lips to hers. Tasting her toothpaste combined with her soft lips made him moan. Soon he was lost in his passion for her, trying his best not to tear out her bun and pinned her under him. His woman was no less eager in her response. Finally needing air, Opie pulled back. Dylan's swollen lips and sparkling eyes met his.
"I love you," she sighed.
"I love you too, give me 20 minutes and I can give you a ride to work," Opie said standing.
Dylan nodded, heading to her dresser to fix herself and put on her jewelry. Twenty minutes later Opie found her zipping up her black boots and sliding on a backpack over her own leather coat. He gave her his helmet for the ride.
"Your uncle rides right?" He asked.
"Yep, I know the drill," Dylan joked.
It felt damn good having Dylan wrapped around him as he drove through Charming. She was an experienced rider making it all the more enjoyable for him. Pulling up to the main Oswald offices, he idled as Dylan got off handing him back his helmet.
"I get done around 3:30 today, if you can get me or I can go to the library for awhile," Dylan said.
"I can get ya, you ok with heading out to meet my pop?" Opie wanted his old man to know about his relationship before anyone else.
"I can't wait to meet him, you have a good day babe ok?" Dylan said leaning in to kiss his cheek. Opie squeezed her hip.
"You too baby." Opie watched her walk in the office, a couple of other women whispering as they went in behind her. Fuck, the Charming rumor mill would be going soon…he hoped Dylan didn't get upset at that.
He should have known that someone would hear something before he got to T-M. Jax was giving him a look along with Tig. Jax he wouldn't mind, Tig could be annoying as hell went he wanted to know something. Going directly to get his work shirt he did his best to look normal.
"So Op, heard you gave a cute blonde a ride," Tig called.
"That so?" Opie shrugged.
"You move quick…and she works for Oswald?" Tig continued, Jax simply watching the interplay.
Opie shrugged again going into the office. If he didn't give a denial or confirmation, Tig had nothing but the rumor. He gave Gemma a grin as she handed over the paperwork for a F-150.
"Good to have you back sweetheart, you need anything you tell me," Gemma said, loving Opie nearly as much as she loved Jax.
"I will ma, thanks," Opie said.
It seemed Tig wasn't interested in pushing Opie too much after he got such a little reaction from him. Jax wasn't either, instead he continued filling Opie in on everything he had missed in prison. So much of what they did depended on knowing the flow of relationships among their customers, the political climate, new players and such that keeping a running tab could be damn near exhausting.
At 3:15 Opie clocked out. He simply said he was checking in with his old man. No one questioned him and he was out of the lot fast. His thoughts returned to Dylan. He noticed that in the last couple months she had talked less about her mother, indicating that her mother was not adjusting well to the move. He hoped Piney would be more supportive. Dylan was waiting outside for him, chatting on her phone.
"Ok uncle Cody…I think Easter works great. I love you too, bye." Dylan finished up giving Opie a smile.
"All good baby?" He asked handing her his helmet.
"Yeah, uncle Cody is coming out for Easter. I think we can tackle him then, it's best done in person. But first…." She trailed leaning in and kissing him.
Opie savored her and the fact she didn't seem to care it was in public. Not that they were being obnoxious, but it was a good sign. Pulling back she swung herself on behind him.
The ride out to the cabin was smooth. Piney's trike and truck were in the driveway, the old man on the porch. He waved, then shook his head seeing the woman Opie brought with him.
"Damn boy, who is that?" He called. Opie grunted at Piney's bluntness. Dylan didn't seem too ruffled by it.
"Dylan, my old lady. The one I told you I wrote to in Chino," Opie introduced pulling the blonde to him. She smiled and waved at the old man.
"Hi! It's nice to meet you in person, I've heard a lot about you," Dylan said.
Piney appraised her. She was short like Donna, but the opposite in looks. He had liked his former daughter-in-law well enough, but it had always seemed something was missing between her and Opie. Dylan looked comfortable with his giant of a son. Relaxed and had the commitment to keep a relationship up through good old-fashioned letters for years. Nodding he came down.
"C'mere honey and let me look at you."
Dylan went up to Piney giving a spin. She then held her arms out before placing them on her hips, a teasing smile on her face. Piney looked her up and down again. Nicely dressed to look good for her assets but not screaming at anyone to look at her.
"Need to check my teeth too?" She joked. Piney actually laughed at that.
"Nah, you cook?" He asked.
"Pop!" Opie chided, having watched the whole interaction silently. Dylan was certainly making a good first impression.
"What? We can't cook for shit and I'm gonna be hungry," he shot back.
"I cook Piney, we'll have dinner," Dylan soothed.
The three went inside and Dylan immediately rummaged through the fridge and cupboards finding enough for spaghetti. Conversation centered around her life in Wyoming, adjusting to Charming, and the club. Piney told her more of the history and his long involvement. Opie was never far from her, finding as many ways as possible to give her little touches.
After dinner Opie decided they needed to head back. He was in a great mood. His girl and pop got along. Dylan had only briefly mentioned being questioned by coworkers. She had simply told them her personal life was just that. Opie had chuckled at that.
Arriving back at Dylan's the couple went through their individual bedtime routines. Opie wanted this simplicity to last as long as it could. He rarely got honeymoon phases in his life, and this one was amazing so far. Pulling Dylan against him in bed, he titled her head looking in her eyes.
"You are my queen, I love you baby. Don't ever go away," he whispered. Dylan teared up.
"I'll follow you wherever you go, I love you too. I'm right here you big romantic sap," she said making Opie laugh before kissing her. He could be a romantic sap for her, but only in the safety of the bedroom.
