Chapter Two
Harry and Draco awoke early the next morning. They got up and dressed and headed down to `transfiguration, talking and laughing. They were some of the first students to be in the classroom. They took their seats on the slytherin side of the classroom and gaed around, grinning. About 15 minutes later the rest of the students entered the classroom and professor mcgonagall entered the classroom. "Good morning class. Today we are going to be starting off with something simple." She took out her wand, and summoned a tea cup. "We will be turning tea cups into crumpets." They all began to practice, and a few moments later Harry and Draco were able to perfectly transform their teacups into crumpets. Harry looked over to see Draco grinning at him. He smiled back, then looked around to see if anyone else had been able to change their teacup. He spotted a dark brown-haired girl also having her teacup perfectly transfigured. He snorted, whispering to draco. "Look there, the mudblood was able to do magic. What a surprise." Draco looked over to the gryffindor side and laughed, smirking. Draco then passed it onto the others and eventually the whole slytherin side was snickering. "What's going on here?" Professor Mcgonnagall asked, glaring at the slytherins. The slytherins all calmed down, smirking. "Oh it's nothing professor." Draco said. "Alright then, get back to work class." Mcgonnagall said, walking away. About a half hour later the bell rang, and they all left class. Harry and Draco said their goodbyes, and then went to their separate classes. Several hours later both met again in their last class of the day, potions. Draco was particularly excited about potions, while Harry was nervous. He had never done potions before and had heard things about professor snape throughout the day. Surely he won't be so harsh on me.. I'm in his house after all. Harry thought, taking a deep breath. Harry and Draco entered the classroom with the rest of the class, and they sat together, awaiting Snape's instructions. Professor Snape stood, gazing around the classroom. He spotted Harry and debated quizzing him. He decided against it, as he wouldn't embarrass one of his own students. Snape decided to begin teaching. "Today, we will be creating Skele-gro. Ingredients are on the board, you all may begin." Harry sighed, being thankful. "Well? What're you waiting for? Let's get going!" Draco said, nudging Harry. "Oh!- Sorry, I was just thinking. Let's get going!" Harry said, getting up and grabbing his ingredients. He then went to sit down and began brewing his potion. He began cutting up his scarab beetles when Draco began snickering and whispering to Harry. They both began snickering at Neville Longbottom. Professor Snape walked over to the group. "What's all the laughter about?." Snape asked, glaring. "Look at Longbottom!" Harry said, laughing. Snape then looked over to the gryffindor side to see a black gurgling mess at one of the tables, the kid, presumably Neville, was about to scream, seeing his cauldron. "Hm. I see. What a waste." Snape walked over, glaring. "Clean it up. Detention, and 5 points from Gryffindor for ignorance." Snape then walked back to his desk. The class resumed creating their potions. About a half hour later Snape stood again. "Now, we let the potion brew overnight." The class stood, and began cleaning up. Moments later the class was dismissed. Harry and Draco proceeded to enter the Slytherin common room. "What'd you think of potions?" Draco asked, grinning "Eh, it was alright, I prefer magic classes though. Also, are you excited for the first flying classes in a few weeks?"
