This idea for a story popped into my head and I've never done a female Harry story but I thought I'd try my hand at that. I'm not sure where it's going yet but it will probably be OOC. It likely won't be canon so I don't want any complaints about that later on. Please read and review, love Hannah xxx
"But Charles surely there's another way?" he said as the other man regarded him seriously.
"I am afraid not. It will have to be as it once was. You and I both know the boy was never meant to die but met that fate because he was manipulated by those he trusted most in the world. We have no choice but to send him back however there are no guarantees. You know what I mean!" he stated with a stare as Charles gulped thickly.
"Unfortunately I do. Are you absolutely sure there is nothing we could do at all? I really don't want this to happen the same way it did before" he said as the other man looked contemplative for a moment.
"It unfortunately will not be the same in every way. His memories will remain with him however he will be different in a way I cannot foresee because I am not meant to!" he said as Harry stirred blearily looking around and wiping his eyes he was momentarily blinded as something or was that someone with white shinning lights around them touched his head some kind of fog which had been in it lifting and he looked around as though seeing for the first time.
"Who are you and where am I?" he asked as the glowing men looked at him with very sorry eyes.
"Unfortunately it is against the rules for me to tell you who I am. I can only tell you that you died betrayed by all those whom you thought were your friends. You however were never meant to die so young and so I have no choice but to send you back to your eleven year old body with your memories and occlumency shields intact. Yes you were always meant to have those but Albus Dumbledore blocked the natural ability in you making you weaker. When you get home your Aunt will be looking for something for you to clean and you should suggest to her that you would be willing to clean the attic. You will find something there quite surprising. Good luck Harry Potter!" he said as both men kissed his forehead one after the other and he knew no more.
He woke up highly confused indeed. Why was he in a bed of all things instead of his cupboard? Wasn't he supposed to be eleven too what was up with that? He padded out of the bed sleepily and went to the door shocked to find it open and went to the toilet. Whilst there he chanced a look in the floor length mirror they had and it was by the grace of Merlin that he didn't scream aloud in horror. Looking back at him was certainly not something he ever expected to see. He had no idea what he'd been expecting since he'd heard their conversation earlier even if he hadn't let on. He'd heard them say he'd be changed once he returned but this was ridiculous.
It was not the reflection of a malnourished boy with glasses which were broken and many bruises all over him but a pretty girl with no glasses and a feint scar who could see quite well which looked back at him. She had an hourglass figure with an alright body which was obviously starting grow up if her budding curves were anything to go by. Feeling some pain she realised in horror she'd arrived in the middle of having her first period something alien to her indeed. What was her name this time around and why was she not abused? Not that she was complaining of course. Something about her being female had meant to the Dursleys at least that they couldn't mistreat her physically but they could make her do all the cleaning up and ignore her most of the time. She was shocked to discover she remembered that she was well fed and everything and was actually taller for her age. The cupboard under the stairs was actually a built in toilet when she'd checked it quickly. It was clearly the middle of the night. She returned to her room and rooted around for her school bag. This surely would contain her name.
She removed a couple of books and saw the name Heidi Potter on the front of them and smiled. Heidi was at least a nice name. Did she have good grades she wondered idly deciding not to bother waiting for morning she quickly and quietly made her way to the attic finding what they had said would be of interest to her at once. It had been obvious when she'd seen the glowing parchment. Thankfully for her the Dursleys were still deep sleepers and didn't hear when she accidentally banged the ladder as she was putting it away. She took the scroll to her room to read and ended up crying hysterically by the end of it all her stress at suddenly being a girl released coupled with what she had read. Everyone she knew had lied to her about something somewhere along the line and it was shocking to say the least.
It was so shocking in fact that she snuck out the front door calling the night bus to take her to Diagon Alley for which she found the sum in her pocket. It would seem that the angels or whatever they'd been had thought ahead. She went to the bank after which she'd explained things and her key which was in the possession of Dumbledore had been rendered null and void. He had it and could keep it from her as long as he liked for it would never work. The bank had decided to continue to have her look as though she was using the key when in reality she was not. It would be this which would make him feel he had the upper hand which he most certainly did not.
"Is there a way to make my family the Dursleys believe they have bought me all the new clothes I intend to buy as soon as you take my blood and use it so only my hand can open my own vault which I am very excited for by the way. Thank you so much and may you see much blood or whatever it is you do in your spare time!" she said as the goblin with her laughed. She had made the effort where others had not and that was the point. Yes of course the greeting had been wrong but she had tried truly and that really did make all the difference in their world at least because hardly anyone ever truly tried.
"Thank you Miss Potter for making the effort. I have fixed your account now but you should continue to pretend to use your key so Mr Dumbledore may feel he is in control at all times when he is not. Don't worry I have made a note with your account so whoever deals with it will know to play along. Now as for the Dursleys we can make them see anything you would like them to see in a moment. As for the new clothes you intend to buy it is late and none of the shops are open however we have all the clothing you need here. What happens is you select as many things as you like which are listed with their prices in pounds which we then take in galleons. We have this emergency service for many muggleborns who need it in a pinch when they have no time to shop for everything as needed! We always have this service for emergencies as you never can tell when it will be necessary" he said carefully leading her into a side room which contained rows and rows of children's clothing. They passed many racks of male clothing and shoes finally coming to the female section.
She stopped to browse thinking about what it was she would actually like to be wearing. Hermione unfortunately had always looked a mess because she didn't care enough about fashion to be bothered and Ginny had looked a mess because her family could not afford to get her clothing which looked good. When she had been gifted with clothing for her birthday which she chose herself it had still looked a little weird. She glanced down at what she was wearing and scowled. The Dursleys had given her plain jeans with a rather large and unflattering t shirt on over it. It did look a mess. They had actually tried to give her Dudley's cast offs but they had merely fallen off her at once so they'd had no choice but to get her female clothing however that didn't need to mean it actually fit her. In fact they enjoyed that it didn't.
She decided on a special wardrobe which contained clothing items for each season and some speciality clothing for events should she ever need to have any on her person. She picked out two denim jackets, four pairs of jeans and four pairs of leggings. She picked out ten tops of different sleeve lengths and colours. She chose some flat shoes of a satin make in deep purple and teal as well as various pairs of converse shoes in all colours. She picked some flat shoes with a leopard print design on them and some small t bar heels which would look lovely on her feet. She then chose ten different varieties of dress, skirt, jumper and cardigan. She lastly picked out some accessories for her hair and jewellery. She had requested to get her ears pierced and they had quickly and quietly done them for her. They were able to speed up the process so she was able to wear long earrings at the end. It did really hurt to do things this way but it was all worth it to see herself and actually feel good.
The note from the attic had said that this time she'd have to learn everything again from scratch but that as she knew where Diagon Alley was she could get her things early and read them ahead to be more knowledgeable. Harry had never loved reading and had paid the price for it dearly when he didn't always know the answers. He had essentially needed Hermione but not this time. This time he would select his own friends and he would make sure they were appropriate. Hermione had never truly meant any harm but was so obsessed with authority figures and always receiving praise that she tended to abuse him if told to do so By Dumbledore simply because he was the one who was asking her to do it. It never once occurred to the bookworm that it was actually wrong in any way.
The clothes and shoes had come to a total of one thousand five hundred pounds but was worth it. The total came to three hundred and one galleons, two sickles and twelve knuts. Using a portkey they went home with her well one goblin that is who not only disabled Albus' silly wards as he was there but added stronger wards to actually keep her safe and not trapped. All the undelivered mail was put in a few boxes in the attic for her to respond to as and when she wanted to. They went into her room where all her old and ill-fitting clothing was removed and burnt on the spot while the Goblin sneered at the tasteless and offending garments. The new clothing was put away and her room was warded in such a way that no one who wished her harm could come into it no matter who they were. The Dursleys would just be prompted to leave her alone from now on. A quick wave over their heads with a goblin made device insured that neither they nor anyone else would notice her new and proper fitting clothes.
She returned to bed and her room was placed into a sort stasis where she would wake up at the same time as the Dursleys but while four hours had passed for them eight hours would pass for her so she could get better rest which she did need. A further look around her room before bed showed that she at least had pads for her period. At least they didn't make her suffer like that. They could have and that they didn't was a great thing in her mind. She knew now everything would be different and with Harry's memories in her head she vowed things were going to be different from now on. She was going to go nowhere near Gryffindor that's for sure. They had alienated and hated her so much last time she wasn't suffering through that again. Besides which she was too good for that house.
Her hair hung in long waves down her back and was a deep red but looked lighter in the sun. It was way darker than the Weasley's hair for example so she'd never be confused as one of them. She still had her mother's eyes though with the only difference being that she now had the tall height of her father. She would likely be five ft. eight inches when she had fully grown in comparison with Harry's five ft. five inches. All would be stunned by her when she arrived for sure. She'd arranged with the goblin who took her measurements to have new robes in varying colours and styles to be sent to her. It did cost another three hundred galleons but it was worth it totally to her. They would arrive via house elf in a few weeks. They'd told her they'd get her one of her own who could feed her and care for her where the Dursleys did not want to. She wasn't underweight per say but they didn't feed her enough and somehow she just instinctively knew that. They fed her all the crap Dudley ate and no vegetables at all. Harry had loved Vegetables and Heidi missed them so much. She settled into bed and smiled as her eyes drifted shut. No one was ready for her that's one sure thing.
