This is the next chapter. Please read and review, love Hannah xxx

Heidi was right and in a few days later her letter did arrive but she didn't make the error of showing it to the Dursleys as Harry had done last time. She placed it quickly in her bedside locker drawer and gave the rest of the mail to an unsuspecting Aunt Petunia who took it and sent her to her room after breakfast which was again a sugary cereal. She'd asked for the healthy special K Petunia had been eating but Petunia had snapped seeing it as an affront. At least now she could eat healthily at school and it hadn't gotten to the stage where she was overweight thankfully. It might have if she'd continued this way for another ten or so years but for now no. Her house elf which she'd been told would arrive the day her letter did would no doubt help her to get the healthier things at mealtimes. She jumped shrieking in surprise as her new elf popped in and heard aunt Petunia telling her to be quiet from downstairs.

"I am sorry I didn't mean to shriek I just didn't expect you to pop in like that. I'm Heidi please have a seat and do so calmly!" she instructed as the stunned elf did so. She had remembered hyper Dobby all too well and it wouldn't do now to have an overly hyper elf like that. She had loved Dobby so much but he was always too hyper like that one person who had drunk one too many espressos or something.

"Mistress I am Gingy but I will need you to name me whatever you like. It is tradition for a new mistress to give her elf a new name and some rules she wants the elf to follow!" she said with a calm voice. Dobby had been so mistreated that he often spoke in broken English however most house elves who were treated well had perfect English such as this one. She hadn't known she'd need to rename her though. That required much thought.

"Well then I will name you Ivy. It's a very pretty name for a very pretty elf like you. As for the rules you must address me by my first name of Heidi when we are alone and my lady when we are not. You must never punish yourself and if I hand you clothing to clean you are to clean it. It does not mean I am setting you free which I will never do. Lastly as my elf you will be my family and expected to act as such. You will be expected to sleep in a bed and dine with me when we are alone. Obviously when I have company you may not dine with me but that should be a rare occurrence. Please tell me how to bond with you!" she instructed as Ivy smiled at her. She looked thoroughly pleased. She clearly loved that she had been called a pretty elf.

"Thank you Heidi you are very pretty also. I will take your hand and bond with you now. I Ivy elf to Heidi Marie Potter do hereby vow to serve her family and generations always and I will keep all of their secrets and aid them in all ways I can so mote it be!" she intoned with the both of them glowing golden for a little while. When the glow had died down they were left feeling highly loved and full.

"Heidi what do you need me to do now?!" she asked as Heidi smiled at her.

"Tell me first of all Ivy do house elves need to be working all the time? I mean will it affect their health if they are not working all the time?" she asked as Ivy thought about it seriously for a moment.

"To be honest we love to work. If you don't give us something to do we feel like we have let you down in some way. We really do enjoy work and nothing is ever too much for us. If it is too much for us we will usually let you know that but it rarely happens like that!" she answered as Heidi thought.

"Give me a moment please. I need to write my response to this letter then I need you to go and give it to the waiting owl outside. Also while I'm in Hogwarts I may not have much for you to do so I may have to ask you to work in the kitchens there to help out so you always have something to do. Will that be ok? I mean you'll still be my elf no doubt but this way you'll always have work to do!" she said as Ivy gasped. Heidi was being so thoughtful of her and it showed she cared. She wrote the letter quickly and neatly before handing it to Ivy.

"Yes that will be fine. Ok I will take your response to the owl now!" she said popping out of the room. A few moments later Ivy returned to her smiling brightly and she giggled at her.

"Ivy I need you to assist me with healthy eating here. Petunia my aunt only gives me fatty foods because her son always eats them. I've asked for healthier foods but I am ignored. It doesn't matter at Hogwarts but while I am here I do need more vegetables and I will need you to insure Petunia gives them to me without fuss! Also now I need you to clean up the attic please. Take your time and go at your own pace. There is no need to rush yourself as it doesn't matter when it's done!" she said as Ivy thanked her lots.

"Thank you Heidi. I will make sure you eat all your vegetables! They have no right to keep that from you stupid muggles! I will clean the attic now but first I am going to prepare you a nice long bath and insure you are not disturbed. It's time to start caring properly for yourself with my help!" she said taking her hand and squeezing it comfortingly. Heidi was stunned as she approached the bathroom and entered to find a large bubble bath waiting for her surrounded by candles and hot chocolate to the side. It was truly sumptuous and heavenly. Heidi had never been so spoiled. The blinds had been pulled down to make it super dark and had worked wonders. She was super happy that Ivy would be caring for her now. In Scotland Minerva had gotten the response happy that there were no troubles with Heidi coming to the school. She would send Filius there tomorrow. Hagrid's services would not be required as he would only serve to scare the poor girl with his height. She had told Dumbledore who was furious about it but when he realised that Hagrid might scare her so much that her accidental magic would kick in he relented and agreed that Filius could go instead. He had tried to suggest Severus something which went down like a lead balloon. He was too stressed out about finding a new DADA teacher though that he wasn't all that focused which was good for Heidi. Heidi was excited to be getting back to school soon and also of all the changes she could make there this time round. She went to bed that night after a sumptuous and healthy meal and fell straight to sleep.
