Here she is, part 3 of my ever so often updated story. Hope you enjoy!

Once upon a time, she would rather puke her stomach's content at the thought of kissing "Prince Charming", but for her plan to work she needed to put her talents to the test and have an Oscar worthy acting performance as the lonely, sad major with a car that's broken down and hands coincidently full of groceries for her "world famous lasagna".

Here she was now, plotting the perfect plan to destroy not only Snow, but Prince Charming himself. Even if the curse broke, she would still have ruined Snow by making Charming fall in love with her. It was all perfect and since she had only hatred for the two, what could possibly go wrong?

"Regina, can I help you?" he approached the seemingly helpless, but at the same time incredibly cute when flustered major.

He always found Regina to be an interesting person, or at least someone worth interacting with. She was always so poised, but David felt there was more to Regina than met the eye. Unfortunately, not many people shared the thought.

"Oh, Prince Charming to the rescue I see" Regina couldn't help but smirk, maybe even crack a smile (all's far in cold war). He couldn't remember his past, so why not entertain herself a bit in the process? She had a plan for tonight and it was set in motion the moment she saw him across the street.

"Always at your service... Evil Queen, is it?" A sudden glare and Regina's rapid mood change broke his laughter quickly. It was just supposed to be a joke.

"Regina... I, I am sorry. I didn't mean it like that, it's just Henry..." he started stuttering, feeling guilty for being the cause of Regina's sudden stiffness. He wanted to offer help seeing how her car was obviously broken down and instead he only reminded her of the unfortunate tale Henry believed in.

Henry was just a kid, but to believe Regina to be evil was simply too much. David guessed that Regina's mean girl look was all just a facade, being the major and all, but a kid like Henry couldn't see it that way. He only saw his mother as the villain because he didn't understand what it meant to be a single mother, a successful businesswoman and a major above it all.

It wasn't until David saw Regina looking curiously at him that he realized he said all of those things out loud.

"Mean girl, David. Seriously?" She raised an eyebrow at him and something about that one gest made David shiver.

"Well, to be honest I wasn't really planning on saying any of those things out loud, so in my defense..."

David was cut off when Regina nonchalantly dropped her bags full of food and motion for him to follow her into his car. She needed David to fall for her, not chitchat on the street. Hearing him call her the Evil Queen hurt more than it should, but there was also something in his "thoughts though out loud" that gave her a push to go through with her devious plan.

"You can drive me home if you want to help. I will advise you not to ever call me evil and I might forgive you" she walked past him as if nothing happened and entered the car without a word.

Charming will regret ever crossing her, but she imagined David would quite enjoy the ride.

After a bumpy drive because David insisted on him being the one behind the wheel, both him and Regina arrived safely and were now standing on her mansion's front porch.

She wasted no time in retrieving the goods she bought earlier from his arms with one hand and unlocking the door with other. Her fast passed movements almost made David dizzy, but also impressed him. She was both extremely ladylike and utterly tomboyish.

If he was being honest with himself, he would even agree that everything she did was done with such elegance and she always looked effortlessly beautiful. But he wasn't ready to admit any of that, so instead he watched as she made her way into the house, her coat that was draped on her shoulders coming of in one swift movement as she quickly went to drop her groceries into the kitchen.

When she returned to the foyer Regina caught David just staring towards her. It caught her off guard to see him just standing there, bright eyes finding hers the second she appeared before him.

"David, are you okay?" her demeanor changed and she furrowed her brows as if she was worried.

"Oh, yes." he quickly recovered from his daze "I was just thinking how I should probably be on my way. I don't want to interrupt any plans you might have with Henry".

And that was true. He could guess she wanted to spend as much time as possible with her son, especially now when his real mother was in town and David didn't want to step between the two. He was sure Henry would freak out if he saw the Evil Queen and Prince Charming in the same room, let alone having a conversation. He didn't want to worry Regina like that, not after overstepping earlier.

"That is a shame. While I was in the kitchen Henry informed me through a text" she scoffed "that he will be spending time at Miss Swan's place tonight."

As she was speaking her shoulders dropped and her demeanor changed completely. She looked like she was about to cry and like on que she managed to have a tear slip down her cheek.

Of course, she already knew Henry would be at Emma's and there was no text. She imagined that once David drove her home he would want to go, it was a known fact Major Mills spent all her free time with her son and no one beside Emma dared to come in between that.

She also knew David was an honorable man, something the curse could not remove and he would never want to overstep any boundaries unless he thought he was helping. So, she made sure she finds herself in a situation where "helping" was necessary.

"Oh, I am sorry. I thought..." he was interrupted by Regina's sigh.

"it's okay David." she shrugged her shoulders and bowed her head down, reaching for her shoulders with both her arms. "No need to feel sorry for me. I guess it'll be just one plate set on the table tonight. It's becoming more often"

He took a good look at her. How was it possible that mere seconds ago she was this strong human being, demanding and full of confidence and now she looked like the glass that was about to break at any moment. He couldn't, no he wouldn't let that happen.

He thought a little harder of what to say to make sure he is not overstepping, but also maybe offer compassion.

"Maybe you could set another? I know I am not nearly as close or as important to you as Henry is, but for some reason, I would hate leaving you alone tonight."

"I really don't need you to pity me, David." she looked away, but before she could he stopped her head from turning with his hand.

"I am not. I didn't want to stay because I didn't want to usurp much of your time, but the truth is I could really use some company too. You were my friend when I needed you the most, now I only want to be your friend too"

He wasn't lying. The past couple of months have been a roller-coaster. He woke from a coma and suddenly knew nothing about his life or how he even ended up in one. He learned he had a wife, but fell in love with Snow. He works in a shelter where no one ever comes to adopt because no one has the time to take care of a pet. He then managed to both get divorced and lose Snow because she felt responsible for the end of his marriage only to be left completely alone with no one to help him figure out what to do next.

All of this weighted on his soul and he imagined that the only person who could understand what he was going through would be none other than the woman standing before him.

"Well, if that is what you really feel and if it's what you truly want... please help me set the table. I am making lasagna".

She didn't want this to be longer than it absolutely must. Regina got him to stay "on his own terms" which was the idea, now she needed to figure out how to make him fall for her. That part was a real tricky one.
