This is the next chapter. Please read and review, love Hannah xxx
The students entered the Transfigurations classroom with a cat perched on top of the teacher's desk sitting relatively still its tail swishing back and forth. Suddenly there was a shriek from the back of the room where Goyle had nearly tripped over someone's bag and in order to catch himself had thrown his hands outwards in fact setting his chair which he was about to sit in on fire and screaming. The cat leapt from the table Professor McGonagall making a shock entrance as people screamed in fright at her. You shouldn't have done that you really terrified me someone shouted as she whipped her wand out with a delicate flourish and immediately doused the flames.
"Whoever that was I am sorry I scared you. Mr Goyle please relax. It has been some time since I have seen someone like you in my class. Please stand in the corner at the back of the classroom while I get something. I will be back and please don't touch anything!" she said leaving at once as a shivering Goyle went to the corner terrified of himself. It was Crabbe who was the next to stun her as she entered with a box stunned as he told Goyle to calm down as a jet of water shot from his own hand making him look at it in fear.
"Misters Crabbe and Goyle please come to the front of the room for me. Everyone Misters Crabbe and Goyle are elementals. It does happen from time to time but it is rare indeed. Here put on these bracelets. They will become whatever design you prefer when you put them on and they will help you with your abilities. Don't worry I know all about what happened with Professor Snape as he told me about it and this is clearly a delayed consequence of that!" she said as both boys put on their bracelets erupting in balls of fire and water respectively until they died out naturally in a few moments. With that she turned to the rest of the class with a smile on her face.
"Professor Snape and I have discussed things and we have decided to give you all a cleansing broth in case you have blocked cores. Most of you will not but it is better to be safe than sorry!" she said passing out small vials of potions to each of them. Draco again said he didn't feel everyone in the room deserved the honour of getting such potions. He really was struggling. His parents had always told him he was better than everyone else and that should anyone ever meet him they would automatically respect him solely based on who he was but they lied to him. No one anywhere cared who he was and because that stupid bitch Potter was the new Lady Slytherin he couldn't exert control over his betters like he wanted to. He attempted to trip the student delivering the potions when they got to Hermione but she firmly kicked him in the leg and moved on. He couldn't even be cunning about it.
As everyone got a potion they all took it and a few blasts were heard around the room. Some people even looked different Hermione being one of them. Her hair was now perfectly straight and the same colour while her skin was a bit clearer too. She looked a bit more normal now. It would seem in her magic's effort to release itself from a blockage she'd been put under by the ministry of magic at the age of eight when she had learned how to master her magic wandlessly it had made her look ridiculous as it tried to escape. Her parents had been dismayed by how awful her hair had looked afterwards. She had broken many brushes. At least she was better now. Every single class had been given these potions and those who didn't have class had been hand delivered those potions in their houses and the library. All students now had unblocked cores and all while Albus Dumbledore was unaware. The students had been asked not to tell him and while they found the request weird they saw no reason he should need to know their personal business either.
"Ok well done everyone. Now as you can see you each have a match in front of you and for this lesson I want you try to make it into a needle!" she instructed as Hermione rolled her eyes and held up her already completed needle.
"I did this while you were speaking. What is next please!?" she asked as Minerva scowled at her. She was about to ask her to change its colour when Hermione changed its colour several times and smiled.
"Considering you are so good at this you will go around and kindly and carefully help others. Ten points from Gryffindor for recklessly rushing ahead without being sure of what I would ask you to do. Two points to Gryffindor for wonderful casting!" she said as Hermione walked around the room and proceeded to scream at Ron who was doing it wrong.
"Stop! Stop being so reckless. You'll knock your eyes out. You have to focus on what you're doing otherwise you'll never succeed. Watch me and do exactly as I do, my gosh!" she said with a massive sigh and did it effortlessly whilst glaring at him as he bristled.
"I didn't ask for your help and you screaming like isn't good for me. Go and bother someone who cares!" he replied as she growled in rage at him tears swimming in her vision.
"YOU ARROGANT LITTLE PIG! I'm trying to save you from failing this class and you have the audacity to speak to me like that. For those of us with a simple mind that means the cheek as I know most of you don't know what that means! Just shut up and listen to me while I teach you. I know way more than you do anyway and you need me if you wish to ever pass this class or any class" she sneered as Minerva approached her looking furious.
"Miss Granger I asked you to help people kindly and what do I find you doing huh? I find you shouting at and scaring not only Mr Weasley but those around him too!" she snapped as Hermione rounded on her tears in her eyes.
"But he was being an arrogant pig and I didn't wish for him to fail. If he failed then everyone would say it was my fault because I couldn't teach him how to do it properly. No one needs a pig in their class. He'll get nowhere if he doesn't learn manners now. Someone needed to tell him and it just so happened to be me that did. Ugh I have a headache. He's so stressful!" she said as Minerva glowered at her.
"Thirty points from Gryffindor and a weeks' worth of detention with Professor Snape. If you weren't so intense I imagine you could have many friends Miss Granger. Friends are earned honestly not bullied to become your friends. Besides which I am the teacher and not you. I asked you to help. How did you know how to do it anyway?" she asked suddenly as Hermione cried.
"I never said I wanted to be his friend and that punishment is highly unfair but I am a big girl and I will take it like the better person I am. You see everyone else would have freaked out about it but because I am and always will be the better person I didn't. I studied as many books on every subject as I could possibly find when I knew I was a witch. I found Diagon alley before most people. In fact I mastered wandless magic at the age of eight and the Ministry blocked my core because of it. I still have all of those books in my trunk. I know mostly everything up until my third year of schooling. I can't be expected to know everything now can I? Trust me if I could I would!" she said as Minerva gasped in horror.
"Please show me what you know?!" she asked carefully as Hermione effortlessly demonstrated all that she knew. Minerva took her into a side office and as a punishment obliviated her of all information she shouldn't know yet including wandless magic for her own safety. No one saw her do it but there was a reason everything was taught at this pace. She knew far too much for her internal magic to be able to handle. Dumbledore would have handed out the same punishment in her place hell anyone would have. She returned moments later with Hermione looking very sombre indeed. In fact she knew what Minerva had done to her but couldn't reverse it as only those in the ministry knew how to do that. She was essentially trapped. Minerva walked over to a furious Ron and smiled at him.
"Mr Weasley close your eyes for a moment please. Take a deep breath in through your nose and release it out through your mouth. Now I bet you feel way more relaxed don't you? Now please go on and try the spell at your own pace!" she said as a now calm and stunned Ron did it perfectly.
His eyes lit up with joy as he had done it and in his first lesson too. No one in his family had ever done that and the only reason he knew it was because they all complained about how they hadn't gotten it on their first lesson. He was finally the first at something and it felt wonderful.
"Well done Mr Weasley. Take ten points for Hufflepuff for excellent casting and Transfigurations. I can say your parents would be proud. You're the first Weasley to get it right in the first class so far. Mr Malfoy if you weren't so busy taunting others you may have gotten it right as well. Five points from Slytherin for lacking cunning in what you do. I could see you quite clearly and so could everyone else. For homework I want one parchment on what you learned. Please remember I asked for one parchment only and anyone who gives me more than that will fail this class!" she said her eyes lingering on Hermione who looked horrified at the idea of just one parchment. Heidi fumed at the back of class. She was getting tired of Draco Malfoy pretty quickly. He simply wasn't getting it or cutting it for that matter. Oh he'd pay later that's for sure. Hermione was a surprise as she had been so vicious. She knew Minerva had wiped her memory as she should have. All that extra information was never good in a witch or wizard so young. There was a reason everything was learned slowly and carefully the way it was. What a lesson!
