Chapter Thirteen: Complaints and Everyone gets sidetracked... (back to Kai/Drake's POV)
"...And then Wu ruined my fun!" Garmadon whined as he followed his father around like a lost puppy, Wu right next to him.
"Garmadon made it sound like he was going to corrupt my student or something!" Wu whined in response.
I stared at them from where I was tidying the trophy case, vaguely wondering if they realized yet that the reason why First was just bobbing his head to everything that they were saying was because centuries worth of woe is me complaints from his sons was not something he wanted to listen to, thus why he was wearing a pair of Bluetooth earphones. It was the playlist that he was listening to that he was moving his head to... not their complaints about each other. Shaking my head at their antics, Misako has banned them from being anywhere near Lloyd while they're acting like little kids. "Drake... stop pretending to clean that trophy case for the hundredth time since school let out for summer break and get your behind over here for an emergency Alliance meeting that your sister is insisting on." Cole's voice suddenly crackled over the intercom.
I rolled my eyes skyward at that, before dropping my cloth down, I headed to the teacher's lounge that really needed to expand now that we've expanded the entire school... something about getting how many new teachers in the middle of the school year..? 'Are we discussing how the Hands of Time are probably getting ready to attack right about now?' I signed almost cheerfully as I closed the door shut behind me. No surprise, the room was crowded to the point of there being no room to sit... or stand, in there. Gravis of course was trying to help us out by levitating above everyone's heads.
"Wait... who are the Hands of Time? And why are they getting ready to attack?" Skylor straightened up a bit, alarm flashing in her eyes.
Nya cleared her throat loudly even as Jacob asked Neuro if I had mentioned these Hands of Time and that is why he is lost. "Right... while I do have a list of where they are hatching Vermillions, serpentine tribe that the Great Devourer comes from, I am more concerned about my brother's lack of memories. Something tells me that we're gonna run into our parents soon and, well. I'm sure you can imagine how well that will go once they realize that he doesn't have his memories."
Jay winced at that, only to sink into a sudden panic. "Wait! I haven't asked your dad's permission to court you yet!"
"Jay... this isn't the eighteen hundreds... it's called dating and you don't need his permission unless your old fashioned, or the family is old fashion, in which case its permission to marry her that you need to worry about." Griffin rolled his eyes skyward as he pointed out the flaw in what Jay just deduced upon hearing that.
Zane spoke up, confidence flooding his voice. "Also, I highly doubt that Nya would have agreed with dating you, if her father didn't approve before she came back to what we consider the present."
"Zane!" 'Zane! I have no idea why I feel like I should be horrified that you knew any of that.' I blinked rapidly, confused on why I just joined Nya and Pixal in yelling at Zane.
Nya whirled around to stare at Pixal, panic flashing in here eyes. "You too!?" She didn't clarify what she meant by that, then again, by Zane's and Pixal's faces... something tells me that they already knew what she meant by that.
"Zane told me about his theory that you and your brother are allies from the future sent to prevent Ninjago from falling." Pixal didn't appear one bit apologetic.
Nya groaned as she ran her hand down her face. "Okay then... in that case. Yeah, we're from the future... and some of the things I've mentioned that we've gone through is something that either hasn't happened yet, and hopefully will never happen in this time line, or ya know... my brother here prevented it from happening at all in this timeline. Some of which is good... others are more bad because ya know... not part of the plan." Nya dropped her voice to a mutter as she quickly added on something about me finding out First has never happened before.
"Wait... but you mentioned that a brother was killed in front of another brother that left him traumatized to the point where he stopped talking." Lloyd pointed out one of the stories that she had told us.
Nya rubbed her face tiredly, biting the bottom of her lip. "Yeah about that... I was talking about you, Greenie. I was trying to get you guys to realize why he wasn't talking."
"I... died?! How!?" Lloyd looked rather stricken.
"We don't know. Drake was the only one there when it happened. All we know is that it wasn't pretty, or painless." Nya looked down at her hands, seemingly upset about this entire conversation. "That was the main reason for us to go back in time. To stop you from dying. Your daughter, Koko, isn't ready to take on the responsibilities of the green ninja yet. We thought... we had hoped that during this would ensure that she would have a childhood of sorts."
"Wait... the kid has a kid? How far into the future are you guys from?" Someone blurted out, I wasn't really paying much attention though since I was currently making notes about all my weird things I'll either think or say randomly and how that plays into this revelation.
"We're in our fifties. The ex-boyfriend that I mentioned that listens to the Royal Blacksmiths? That was you Cole. I... broke up with Jay in the other time line due to discovering that I have feelings for you as well. Eventually we realized that my feelings for you weren't any different than the ones I felt for Lloyd or Drake, and we broke up. Well... you more asked me to break up with you since you was scared that someone was going to murder you if you did the breaking up." Nya twisted her thumbs together nervously.
Skylor laughed at that, quickly nudging me playfully. "So what I am hearing is that my boyfriend was the scary guy no one wanted to cross even back then." I pouted at that, before remembering a little detail. No one knew we were dating!
'We're not dating!' I signed quickly, panicking slightly.
Nya snorted, even as Zane pointed out a small detail that we hadn't known. "We all know that you two are secretly dating. Also, I suspect that your name is Kai since Dareth mentioned that Nya said that her brother's name is Kai when we first met him."
Nya shook her head even as she turned to face me. "Honestly? If you weren't dating her I'll probably lock you two in a closet or something since I absolutely love Amber... and since she's your daughter... and Skylor is the mother. I wouldn't dream of separating you two."
"Wait...kid... um... err..." Jay for some reason looked rather pale.
Nya noticed this, and gave a small, tight smile. "After being single for awhile, we got back together. We decided to do a double wedding with these two which somehow turned into everyone got married on that day, very big wedding."
Jacob raised his hand cautiously, his brow furrowed with worry. "Um... how about you give us those locations so that we can kill baby great devourers."
A/N: Oops... Zane was not supposed to start this conversation up. Ah well. I guess this is a bit more natural setting than he gets his memories back and blurts everything out. Once I realized that I was having them have this conversation now... I debated having Kai or Zane figuring out that a certain dream he had while they were gathering the Golden Weapons was actually a memory about Lloyd's own funeral... then changed my mind. Mainly because it is a little long for it being me already. They can have that conversation later.

phetiamwantip: Sorry... Garmadon and Wu are going to act like little kids and complain about every little thing the other one did that annoyed them while he was gone to him. Misako is trying to keep Lloyd away from them during this since she doesn't need him to start complaining about his teammates as if they're nothing more than annoying siblings.
