The midnight sky seemed to glitter with its blanket of stars as Elizabeth gazed up at it. She was lying down in the middle of the deck of the Pearl on her back, her hands behind her head. She looked a little crazy, just lying in the middle of the deck at midnight. Jack eyed her peculiarly. What was so fascinating about the sky, especially when it was dark? He walked out from under the stairs until her hovered right above her, looking down suspiciously. "Tell me, what are you doing?" He asked.

Elizabeth grinned, and then pushed Jack's leg away so she could sit up. "Well, I was looking at the stars, until I was so rudely interrupted." She flicked her hand at him. Jack moved away so that he could sit down beside her. He looked up at the sky, boredom showing in his eyes. Elizabeth grinned. "What does it make you think of?" Jack paused a minute, gathering his thoughts. "Mostly, a black hole. It's just there." Elizabeth sighed, looking back up. "Well it makes me think of a mystery...a whole new world, just waiting to be found and explored."

Jack let his gaze fall upon Elizabeth. Her wily imagination never ceased to amaze him. Smiling he added something to his previous statement. "Mostly it makes me think a black hole, but it also makes me think of you." Elizabeth turned to meet his gaze, smiling graciously. She kept gazing at the sky though. It made her feel peaceful, quiet, like the whole world wasn't about seriousness. Sure she liked adventure, but sometimes you just needed a break, and looking at the sky always provided Elizabeth with an escape from all the hassles of life.

Elizabeth sighed, not of stress, but a happy sort of sigh, and laid back down again, putting her hands behind her head. Jack watched, then did likewise and smiled. Elizabeth grinned. "Are you making fun of me, Mr. Sparrow?" Jack chuckled. "I only copy the good things." Elizabeth smiled and rolled over to face him. "Do you ever feel like you're the last person in the world?" Jack turned to face her, all traces of humor evaporating. Instead he wore a serious face. "Why would you ask me a question like that?" Elizabeth kept gazing at him. "Don't answer a question with another question, Jack. Just answer it."

Jack smiled. "Well, I suppose that I never have felt that I'm the last person in the world. Sometimes maybe I'm the loneliest, but never the last." Elizabeth admired the courage and truthfulness in his answer. She turned back onto her back to look at the stars again. They glittered and sparkled, flashing in her eyes, almost making her blink. She thought of a reply. "I'm never the loneliest. Not when you're around." Even though she wasn't looking at him, she could tell he was smiling gratefully.

Jack turned his own head to gaze at the stars too. They seemed so dull and boring; he no idea why Elizabeth was so amazed with them. They were just tiny dots in the sky, making it seem like someone cut holes so that water could drip out, which we call rain. Suddenly a silver flash shot across the sky, flashing in Jack's eyes. Jack smiled and tapped Elizabeth's shoulder. She turned her eyes searching his. "Shooting star…make a wish." He said softly. Elizabeth smiled and gently replied, "I don't need that wish. Mine already came true." Jack smiled, grateful for the explanation. Elizabeth surprised him by leaning in closer and kissing him. It was a long romantic kiss, but Elizabeth finally pulled away, and returned her gaze to the stars.
