They say things happen for a reason that the universe doesn't do anything without a purpose, well he also heard the opposite before that things happen for no good reason.
And this seemed like one of those can't tell which was true situations, for what reason did this happen? Was it faith? An accident? Was this meant to happen?
He wasn't sure all he knew was everything was so much easier when there weren't all these blurred lines.
It had all started with possibly one of the most normal occurrence's on earth a fight with the decepticons over a new energon deposit near southern Utah, unknowingly buried in the remains of a long dead super volcano if they had known ahead of time perhaps things would have gone differently.
Nothing about that day had been different really except for Wheeljack having been visiting earth and well you couldn't keep the wrecker away from a good Con battle if you wanted, the only other difference that day had also been Soundwave the decepticon who almost never left the Nemesis was currently grappling with Arcee it could be because Starscream had been MIA since the fight in Antarctic or due to the battle the previous week that left Dreadwing damaged.
Either way they were outclassed when it came to the spymaster being on the field shooting another eradicon out of his way Bumblebee was very aware of how easily the seeker was taking the fight, those attachments that Miko often compared to octopus tentacle's didn't allow him nor Arcee to get in a hit their frame's showing more damage while the seeker went unharmed.
They were loosing ground fast and with the high number of drones shooting at them the chance of winning this energon deposit was looking slimmer and slimmer, the ground shook again from one of Wheeljack's grenades the bot often wondered where the wrecker kept them all as the vehicon's caught in the blast where destroyed but the ground seemed to shake more and more each time an explosion rang out.
That right there should have been the moment he realized they were in trouble one of them should have realized exactly how unstable the ground was, but trying not to get shot or hit was kind of a priority in the heat of battle you didn't tend to think about how the ground under your ped's was slowly starting to break under the weight of many large metal bodies at least until it breaks.
Honestly this entire situation should have never happened in the first place.
One moment he was standing Arcee a bit father away watching as she slashed at a drone with her blades before she was knocked down by Soundwave, the spymaster taking the opportunity of distraction to catch her off gaurd he was moving before he really thought his plan through as blindly charging at a mech with four different feelers and telepathic abilites probably wasn't the smartest idea.
That proved true when his faceplate met dry ground dust flying from the impact of a giant mech falling as he felt one of those stupid feelers around his leg's keeping him from moving, didn't take a genius to figure out that Soundwave had tripped him as he hadn't even lifted his helm yet when he saw another feeler poised to strike ready to take him out.
That was when everything went nuts.
Another explosion, the sound of something breaking, he could see Arcee trying to get up from Soundwave's assault as she was dragged away by Bulkhead fighting him every step of the way as he himself still couldn't move. He was going to try and either tug or shoot at the feeler trapping him when the ground began to fall into itself, a sinkhole!? He wasn't even aware they were fighting over one as panic began to settle in at the idea of being trapped underground or worst crushed by debris, trying to get up he was vaguely aware that the feeler was removing itself before the ground gave out under him.
The last thing he remembered of that day was the shouts of his name from his friend's and something crashing into him, probably one of the large pieces of dirt though it only quickened his descent into the pit that was quickly being covered by the very dirt that had come loose before something knocked him temporarily offline.
The world came back in a blur of black and brown with just a touch of sunlight coming from well he didn't really know as the moment he got his optic's to focus several warnings began to blare at his processor and obscure his already limited vison, his frame felt like it had just collided with an eighteen wheeler or Bulkhead actually was there a difference between the two? Okay rambling in his mind after a big fall probably not a good sign as he began to read the warnings going through his HUD.

Bumblebee could have sworn his energon levels had been higher that morning he didn't remember taking any serious wounds during the fight right before...the memory of what had happened immediately rushed back as he sat up quickly the scout soon regretted that rush of movement when the pain started, looking down at his left servo it was leaking energon which explained why his levels were so low well lower than usual as he turned his helm trying to inspect his doorwing's the burning pain in his backstrut's was all the confirmation needed of his system's check.
His left door wing looked cracked and dented but was fine but the other wasn't just damaged it hung like a rag completely dislocated from the joint that kept it attached to his frame, it could have been worse he reasoned it could have been completely severed from his frame that outcome would have been much more painful.
Activating another diagnostic check he hoped to see how long his self repair programs would take to fix his current injuries until he could contact the other's back at base, Ratchet was going to kill him when saw the state of his frame even if it technically was Wheeljacks fault that he was now trapped in a well honestly he didn't know he couldn't see where he was but assumed it was a cave.
Once again he was brought out of his thoughts by his self diagnostic's finishing.
[Scans complete injuries will take four lunar cycles to complete without outside repair, translation is three to four earth months]
His remaining door wing lowered at that line of code as he wasn't planning on waiting around for four earth month's he had to find a way out now, there was no way to survive that long without energon and Bumblebee didn't feel like dying in a hole after everything he'd been through it would have been one of the most anti climatic ways for his spark to snuff out!
Using his uninjured servo to get a grip on the rocky wall he pulled himself up frame swaying as his equilibrium chip tried to steady him, taking a few steps forward his frame still ached and gravity was not helping his injured door wing but at least he could walk an injured leg would have been the last thing he needed.
The cave? Tunnel? Was dark the few steams of sunlight were barely enough for him to make out the dirt and rock's embedded in the walls, as the only other light was the glowing energon trail he was leaking from his servo and large noticeable puddles he was now seeing mixed in with some of the large peices of earth it seemed a few drones hadn't been as lucky as he had when they fell.
He wondered if the other's had gotten away alright as he tried his scanners only to receive static as they were offline but he wasn't that damaged! Could there possibly be minerals messing with his system's? It wouldn't be the first time earth had many mineral deposits that humans didn't even know about, it was possible that they were either scrambling or completely distorting his navigation systems which meant the other autobot's wouldn't be able to find his life signal.
That meant trying to find a way out before he ran out of fuel he did have emergency rations on him he would thank Ratchet for suggesting such a thing when he got back, that would give him at least a week maybe less if his servo didn't stop leaking the fuel he was trying to save but as long as he wasn't down here too long or ran into any surviving vehicon's he should be fine.
Right?
He had miscalculated his attack.
The dark mech was barely visible against the shadow's that seemed to cover this underground cavern the only way one could see him was the violet lights that played on his frame, along with the energon that was currently leaking from the seekers back his wings bend at odd angles obviously broken.
If anyone could even get close enough they'd notice the cracks on the dark mech's chest plates the dark shape of a bird was on his shoulder, the docking station was damaged that wasn't ideal at all for Laserbeak the symbiot would usually stay connected until deployed or when she was free to roam on the Nemesis she relied on Soundwave to keep her safe; now even if alone underground she was the far from safe if something went wrong.
Code flashed on Soundwave's visors self diagnostic's warning him of everything that was currently going wrong.

[Warning weapons systems working at 60% capacity]
[Energon levels at 65%]
65% was lower than he had while battling the autobot's his scanners were useless but not damaged as well, Soundwave looked at the stone's embedded in the walls it was as dark as his own armor but it wasn't just one stone it was several some a lighter color than the rest as earth had minerals that often messed with their primitive technology; but he knew they themselves were not immune to the effects either especially their communications system's.
Whatever these stone's were they powerful enough to scramble his system's which meant he could not signal the Nemesis until he escaped this cavern.
Soundwave could have avoided this entire situation if that wrecker had stopped lobbing those grenades and if he had let go of the autobot scout sooner instead he had been caught in the debries, stone smashing into his wings before he could transform.
Taking one last look at his surroundings all he could see was rock's, large pieces of dirt that now covered the hole that had been their sinkhole, as he couldn't leave the way he came in even if he wanted too his wings were to damaged.
There was another tunnel however he didn't know where it led but it was the only logical path to take as another line of code soon appeared in his processor, self repairs it seemed were going to take awhile.
[Self repair without assistance will take six lunar cycles to complete, translation 5 to 6 earth month's]
He wouldn't even be more than a day all he needed was a clear signal.
Beside's Laserbeak it seemed he was alone well if you wanted to count the offline drones that he soon discovered, with any luck the autobot's had suffered a similar fate and if not he could dispose of them quickly if they were as injured or in worse condition than he was his weapons were still quite operational.
Okay maybe he should have let his system's rest before he started walking.
His frame still felt like he had gone a round with Bulkhead right after a mission but his doorwing was the most painful injury each movement shook the dislocated limb sending painful vibrations into his frame he wasn't a seeker nor a true flyer but his wings were still one of his weak spot's; he couldn't wait to find the exit if only he could see.
Decepticons might have night vison but Autbot's didn't which honestly he didn't know why that was? Wouldn't it be useful for them all to have night vison?
Bumblebee shook his helm well least the random thoughts kept him from thinking about his burning doorwing.
He thought about turning on his headlights but decided against it there was still some light coming in from some of the cracks between the dirt and rock's better save his energy for when the cavern actually lost all of it's light.
The idea of trying to dig himself out had occurred to him but Bulkhead had first hand experience in that department the chance of everything coming down on him was not an appealing one, he didn't survive being crushed just to bury himself by his own servo.
Though if the autobot could see or had functioning scanner's he probably would have noticed that he was being watched by two pair's of optic's.
Soundwave's assumptions of being alone were proven wrong when he felt a presence near the thoughts were along the lines of being in pain and trying to escape, leaning closer to the left wall one of his damaged wings caught on some loose rock causing it to shift and for the cavern to shake momentarily as he lifted his arms to cover Laserbeak from the shifting stone.
It seemed that sinkhole had caused this entire cavern to become unstable as the second presence was currently working through the fear Soundwave had caused definitely an autobot.
Taking care not to be seen he kept to the wall he was leaning against as he looked.
He had been correct on his assumptions it seemed the yellow frame of the autbot scout was visible even in this low light.
One of his tendrils was activated keeping it low to the ground as he could easily catch the scout by suprise, but there was also the chance this could all backfire on Soundwave if just a nudge from his damaged wings had caused the cavern to shake what would happen if he slammed an entire autobot onto the ground?
The chance to rid the decepticons of the autobot scout were tempting very much so but any sort of combat in such tight quarter's with the very earth surrounding them being this unstable, would lead to very a unfavorable outcome for himself as while he could logically take out the scout it would be a suicide attack as he'd risk bring down the tunnel onto himself defeating the entire purpose of the attack.
Beside's his life wasn't the only one at risk if he did something so foolish.
Retracting his tendril into his form Soundwave moved his arm's into a more placating gesture he wasn't looking for a fight at least not with so many terrible outcomes awaiting if he did, as he came out of his vantage point the autobot really hadn't seen him or suspected he was even here if the shocked back stepping was a sign.
He quickly noticed the energon leaking from the other's servo and the damaged door wing it seemed the other had also not been so lucky in the case of injuries, as he could easily hear the autobot's frantic thoughts all of them thinking of what he should do and how he should react it seemed the scout was smart enough to know not to shoot at them if his weapons were even still online that was.
Meanwhile all Bumblebee could do was stare at the decepticon that had just revealed himself, sure he hadn't known if anyone else had gotten caught in the fall but Soundwave was the last mech on his list even Breakdown would have made more sense since the other could fly.
Of course the energon falling from the spymaster's wings kind of awnsered that question as he wasn't too sure how to react, he couldn't shoot at Soundwave while his weapons could still activate he didn't know how long they'd work for or how unstable the cavern they were currently in was.
If he shot at Soundwave and managed to hit him or his shot missed and hit the cavern walls instead he could bring the entire thing down on them and he wasn't up for a suicide attack.
But now what? Just stare at eachother?
Luckily the did it count as a staring contest if you couldn't see the other's face ended with Soundwave breaking the silence.
