Spider-Man: Fire and Desire
Author's Note: It seems like I say this everytime, but my goodness, my apologies for updating this late. College has started up for me again, and I recently had surgery which is the main thing that affected my time/energy. Though, I've recovered and it should be smooth sailing from here. Once again, thank you all for your support. Oh, to answer one review real quick!
Highlander348: You're absolutely right, Peter knows Angelica is Firestar in the comics. But in my story, it's going to take a minute for Peter to figure things out.
Also, be sure to check out my newest Spider-Man fanfic as well. It's called Spider-Man & The X-Men: Dreams & Nightmares. It's a crossover with the X-Men as it's set in the 90's Spidey TAS universe along with the 90's X-Men TAS universe. And if y'all wanna know, the pairing in that story is Spidey and Rogue, lol.
Anyway, enough talk, let's get this show on the road!

Chapter 4: A Broken Heart
Boy, that escalated quickly.
Has anybody ever seen Peter Parker, the nerd of Midtown High, stand up to Flash? Or if you wanna go even farther, has anybody ever seen Peter Parker that upset?
It was a shock to everybody, but he was clearly fed up. Not only was he frustrated at Flash's bullying, but he felt betrayed by his former friend.
After a certain amount of time, people are bound to blow up if you continue to piss them off, and this was Peter's exact situation.
Peter walked inside Midtown High, not wanting to be bothered with anyone or anybody. He was also walking with a slight limp. Dang it, if Flash had just left him alone, his leg wouldn't have been reaggravated. Alas, it was, and it wasn't feeling good.
He eventually fell to the floor, gritting his teeth as he held his leg in pain.
"Peter!"
Peter heard his name being called out, his head turning around to see Felicia running towards him. Not too far behind Felicia was Harry, Gwen, and Miles. All of them helped Peter back to his feet like the good friends they were.
Usually, Peter would thank them, but his emotions were running so high right now it didn't even come to mind.
"Man Pete, how hard did Flash kick you? Does it really hurt that bad?" Harry asked, Peter at first being silent about it.
Obviously, Flash's kick would've done nothing if it wasn't for Peter getting shot in the leg hours earlier.
Not wanting the silence to go on for too long, he soon came up with an answer. "Yeah. Guess he got me pretty good, huh?" he spoke unenthusiastically, but what he didn't notice was Felicia analyzing him.
She kept on looking at Peter's leg, which was oddly enough, the same leg Spider-Man got shot in last night.
But this was all some conspiracy, right? Spider-Man could take bullets to the leg and continue to swing around New York in the same night. Peter? Peter Parker? This dude barely survived a kick from Flash Thompson.
But what if something happened to him before the kick? Is that why Flash's kick seemed a lot stronger than what it really was?
Was Flash Thompson Spider-Man?!
Peter soon noticed Felicia looking at his leg, so he would try to get her attention. "Everything okay, Felicia?" he asked, making Felicia snap out of it.
"I should be the one asking you that," she told him, referring to his leg but also another thing. "I've never seen you get so angry before, especially at Flash."
"Lots and lots of build up, I assume." Miles spoke, giving his guess on why Peter blew up. "Quite frankly, I think it's about time it happened."
Gwen would add her two cents. "Though, you did kinda mention his alcoholic father… That might've been a bit too much." She pointed out, bringing it to Peter's attention which made his eyes go wide.
His palm reached his face, visibly showing frustration. Was he mad at Flash? Obviously. Did he cross the line in bringing up his family? Yes.
But for a short moment, Peter lost it. Even with all the things Flash has done to him in the past, Peter still feels like crap because it shouldn't have gone that far.
He needs some time alone.
"Listen, guys… I appreciate all of you for checking up on me, but I think I need some time to myself. Get my mind right," he said seriously. Before they could get another word in, Peter walked away, leaving his friends who all looked concerned for him.
He couldn't be depressed like this. Not on their watch.
This now goes for Felicia as well.
"Any of you guys got his number?" Felicia asked, making Miles, Gwen, and Harry turn to her. "I know he said he wants to be left alone, but the least I could do is call."
"I'll give you his number if you'll give me yours!" Harry proclaimed, thinking it was some genius move on his part. Felicia sighed heavily, while Gwen could only facepalm herself.
"Or, you know, you could just add her to the group chat." Gwen pointed out the obvious, as Harry now had a slightly awkward laugh.
"Right, right! Of course the group chat would make the most sense!" Harry was stumbling, but hey, can't knock him for trying.
Miles could only shake his head, feeling sorry for Harry. "Better luck next time, Harry."
Harry turned to Miles in an annoyed fashion. "I've never seen you with a girl before!"
"Just because you haven't seen me with a girl doesn't mean I've never been with one!" Miles fired back, the two beginning to argue like men on who was the better ladies man, when neither of them have any type of game whatsoever. It's essentially nonexistent.
Felicia looked at the two arguing, which made her turn to Gwen. "Does this happen often?"
Gwen sighed deeply, looking at the two idiots before her. "Unfortunately, yes."
End of School
The school day was finally over. It seemed like it went extra-long today, especially for Peter Parker. Thanks to his leg not getting messed with again for these past few hours, his Spider powers and increased healing ability definitely seem to be helping him. As he walked outside, he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. Taking it out, he saw it was J. Jonah Jameson calling him.
Oh boy, surely this is gonna go great.
Bracing himself for J.J's madness, Peter closed his eyes, taking a deep breath because deep down in his heart, he knew he was about to get stressed out again. There was no doubt about it.
Begrudgingly, he accepted the call. "Hello?"
"PARKER! I have some fantastic news!"
"There's only one, literally one reason why he would say that." Peter thought, already not liking the sound of this. "Oh boy, Mr. Jameson. What's the fantastic news?" he said dryly, completely failing at trying to sound enthusiastic. Definitely leaned more on the sarcastic side.
However, Jameson didn't notice. "Did you see today's paper?! I caught that wall crawling menace when he least expected it! Two ladies were wrapped around Spider-Man's arms last night! One of them was the Black Cat, and the other one was Firestar! This is proof that SPIDER-MAN IS A PIMP!" Jameson said proudly, Peter now having to restrain himself from crushing his phone.
And speak of the devil. Outside, papers were being sold, with today's headline being, SPIDER-MAN! NOT ONLY A MENACE, BUT NOW HE'S A PIMP! IS THIS WHO WE WANT OUR CHILDREN TO LOOK UP TO?!
Then as Peter took a closer look, he saw Jameson's cheesing face on the right corner, the fine print saying 'Taken by J. Jonah Jameson.'
It took every bone in Peter's body to not rip all of these papers to shreds.
"I GOT HIM GOOD THIS TIME, PARKER! HAHA! ONE STEP CLOSER TO BRINGING DOWN THAT MENACE FOR GOOD!" he said excitedly, but then his tone would immediately change. "Also, don't worry about coming into work today. No need for it. I want these pimp papers to be the best seller!"
Peter didn't like the sound of this. As much as the Bugle unknowingly slanders his name, he needs all the money he can get. "But Mr. Jameson, I need the money for-!"
Jameson would cut him off.
"GLAD YOU UNDERSTAND, MY BOY! JAMESON OUT!"
The call ended right there, Jameson not even giving Peter a chance to respond. Man, Peter could feel like he was losing it. He stood outside in silence, his thoughts running wild. He should be used to this by this point. The slander, the lies, everything.
But he's not.
All he does is put his life on the line for New York, but yet and still, it's never enough for some people. Hearing negative things day after day can take its toll on a person, and it was showing with Peter now.
Without saying another word, he decided to walk home. Probably the only place where he can get some peace.
Aunt May's House
Peter made it to Aunt May's house, opening the door and closing it. Aunt May saw Peter walk in, to which she was surprised.
"Peter? I'm not used to you being home this early." she said, being slightly shocked.
Peter put up a fake smile, making his way to the stairs. "The Bugle told me to not come in today. Figured I'd get some rest instead." he told her, pretty much only telling her about a quarter of the truth as usual. He would walk upstairs, as Aunt May watched him, tilting her head in confusion.
BGM: Avatar: The Last Airbender – Zuko Beach Flashback
Once Peter made it to his room, he closed the door and looked around. So many things, so many thoughts. Probably too many thoughts. He's trying to snap himself out of this funk, but it's not working. Nothing seems to be working, no matter how hard he tries.
He looked at the pictures around his room, his eyes moving to one picture in particular. It was a family photo of him, Aunt May, and Uncle Ben.
The only father and mother he's ever had, but… the father is gone.
Oh, what he would give for another chance to talk to Uncle Ben, to listen to his advice. Day by day, it was getting closer to the anniversary of his death. This was increasing Peter's emotions even more than usual. His eyes looked sad, soulless.
If Uncle Ben was here, he would know what to do.
He always knew what to do.
Trying his best to not remember the night he got killed, Peter looked away from the picture, sitting on his bed in silence as he clasped his hands together.
It was his fault.
When is it ever not his fault?
Downstairs, the doorbell would ring. Aunt May wasn't expecting any visitors, but she walked to the door and opened it. Once she realized who these people were, a smile formed on her face. "Gwen! Harry! Miles!" she said happily, bringing the three in and embraced them in a hug like they were her own children.
They all blushed, but smiled back as they returned to hug. "It's good to see you, Aunt May." Gwen said.
They all would break away from the hug, but Aunt May didn't notice one person who was behind the usual trio. Standing behind them was Felicia, who slightly smiled at the sweet sight she was seeing.
"And who are you, young lady?" Aunt May asked.
"My name is Felicia. I'm a friend of Peter's. Clearly not as long as these three have been friends with him, but a friend nonetheless." Felicia explained. "It's nice to meet you, Ms. Parker."
Aunt May shook her head, smiling. "Please dear, call me Aunt May. If you're a friend of Peter's, then you're my friend as well." she explained, Felicia being somewhat surprised at how kind Aunt May was, but that's not saying she didn't appreciate it.
Looking to the group, she would invite them in. "Come on in, everyone." she told them, closing the door behind them as they all came inside. "Can I get you all anything? Water? Food?"
Gwen nodded no. "We're fine, Aunt May. Though, if you can get us Peter by any chance, that would be good." she said, but the comment made Aunt May have a sly smirk on her face.
"Ohhhh, you only care about seeing Peter, huh?" she asked playfully, the tone clearly being intentional, but it made Gwen blush unexpectedly.
"That's not what I meant!" Gwen clarified, now feeling embarrassed as snickers were being heard from Harry and Miles.
Aunt May had a little laugh. "I'm just messing with you, Gwen." she confirmed. "Still though, my nephew has a knack for having gorgeous women as friends, like yourself and Felicia, but never ends up dating them. I'm beginning to lose hope," she joked, mainly on the last part, but she was right about Peter being friends with attractive girls and never going anywhere with them.
Gwen's blush stayed at Aunt May's comment, while Felicia could only smirk. She liked the direct, fun approach Aunt May was showing. It reminds her of herself in a way.
"I like this one." Felicia thought, her smirk still remaining on her face.
"But anyway, enough of my foolishness." Aunt May began, her tone becoming more serious. "Peter is in his room right now. Out of curiosity… is he doing okay? He never comes home this early, and he barely said a word to me."
The group all frowned at this, having an idea on why Peter could be in a bad mood, but even they don't really know the full story.
For obvious reasons, of course.
"He was acting sorta strange at school. Kinda why we're here right now." Miles said, giving the simplified version but wouldn't explain what went on at school with Flash.
Aunt May gave a nod. "I see. You think we should go up to his room and see what's wrong with him?"
Harry scratched the back of his head. "Uhhhhh… Well, uh, Aunt May, I'm not saying he wouldn't want to talk to you, but I think he needs to talk to us first." he said, not really giving a good explanation why as he was in the process of making something up. "Probably best if we warm him up first, you know? That way, when he talks to you, it'll be easier for him to talk about it."
Aunt May looked at Harry, raising her eyebrow. It was clear as day these kids knew something she didn't, but would she go along with it?
She continued to look at the kids, before shrugging. "All right." she told them. "I don't know what you kids have planned, but it's obvious I'm not part of it."
Harry sighed, feeling slightly guilty at how Aunt May was wording it, but the Flash thing should probably just be brought up among them. For now, at least.
With that being said, the kids went upstairs, getting to Peter's room. Miles would be the one to knock. "Hey Pete, it's your buddies! Mind if you, uh… Open the door?"
As Miles said this, there was no response from Peter in his room. In turn, this made Miles groan.
"Peter, we just want to check up on you. We know you said you want to be alone, but if you hold all your problems inside, eventually it's just gonna blow up." Gwen told him, trying his best to make him feel comfortable in opening the door.
"Kinda like today?" Felicia pointed out, referring to what happened with Flash.
Gwen sighed. "Yeah, like today."
"So, it's best if you open the door, Pete. Can't have you sulking all by yourself with no one to help you out." Harry said, the door still being closed for a few more short moments.
But that would change as Peter opened the door, revealing himself. "You guys just won't listen, huh?" he said dryly.
"You should know by now it's what we do best." Miles said, smirking. Everybody entered into his room. A collection of posters were on his wall. Some childhood favorites, some recent. The room didn't look to be too messy, which is an improvement for Peter since he can be somewhat of a slob.
But hey, all brilliant men are.
Miles, Harry, and Gwen were used to his room, but Felicia was taking a good look around. For some reasons, and… other reasons.
What can I say, she's a curious cat.
Peter proceeded to sit on his bed, looking at all his friends. He really didn't feel like saying anything, but it's not like he has much of a choice now.
BGM: Life of Pi – Which Story Do You Prefer?
"I'm sorry guys… I'm just…" Peter began, but he paused. It was clear he was struggling with what he was trying to say.
Felicia walked closer to Peter and started rubbing his back. "Hey, these are the people who care about you." she said, showing a reassuring smile. "Everything's fine."
Peter would be lying if he said Felica's encouragement wasn't helping. He still didn't feel like talking about any of his problems, but due to Felicia giving him the extra push, he now feels like he can be open with them.
"This goes beyond Flash and everything else you guys already know. Heck, in a way, I'm repeating myself." Peter started off, which was an accomplishment in its own right. "Without his guidance, I feel like I'm lost. I feel like I'm losing my mind. So much has changed ever since he died."
The group immediately knew who he was talking about, picking up on it instantly.
"The night he died, I was holding his head. It's like he was staring into my eyes, and then Uncle Ben, the man who's kept me alive for all these years… disappeared… forever from my life."
He looked down at the floor, rubbing his head as it was getting more and more difficult to talk about. "I cried on that same day, but you'd think after a year, I would be okay. Get over it. I feel like it should've been me. If anyone should've been killed that night, it should've been me."
His friends wanted to interject on that statement, but they also didn't want to interrupt. In this case, their saddened faces told the whole story as Peter was venting.
"You know, the lesson he tried to give me before I threw it in his face, I realize he was right. He was my Uncle, he was my best friend, he was my father. After all we had been through, I could see the look in his eyes. It's like I saw my own reflection, but both of us knew that his time was coming to an end. The only difference was Uncle Ben actually accepting his fate, while I refused to believe it."
A tear dropped from Peter's face, looking at everyone as he continued to speak.
"I suppose in the end, one of the main points in life is learning how to let go. But what always hurts the most… is not taking a moment to say goodbye. I was never able to thank Uncle Ben for all I learned from him, to tell him without his lessons…"
During this moment, Peter's voice broke, his eyes becoming watery as he tried to cover his face. Felicia continued to rub his back, as everyone looked at the amount of pain he was in.
He's gotten this far, though, and he wouldn't stop now.
"Without his lessons, I would have never survived. I wish he was still here, I wish I could tell him thank you for taking care of some kid who's never even known his biological parents before. Thank you for being by my side until your last breath. Thank you for saving my life, I love you. You will always be with me…"
Peter ended there, not being able to say anymore. They knew Uncle Ben died, but they've never heard Peter talk about his death in this fashion.
All his friends gathered around to comfort him. Whether it was Felicia being by his side, Gwen holding his hand, Miles and Harry embracing him, they were all there for him.
Hours Later
After Peter talked about the main thing that was going on with him, he and the group went downstairs. They spent the last few hours enjoying their time together while eating Aunt May's cooking.
They looked like a true family.
Peter's mood was improving ever since his speech. Not completely better, but he was feeling good enough to where he was able to seem like he was relatively okay. Aunt May planned to speak with Peter about what he and everyone else talked about without her being present, but she figured now wasn't the time.
Eventually, it was time for everyone to leave and say their goodbyes. They all thanked Aunt May for cooking and promised to visit again. They said their goodbyes to Peter as all of them soon walked away.
Well, almost all of them.
Felicia was standing at Peter's doorstep, and now we transfer to Peter giving his thanks to her.
"Felicia… Thank you."
Felicia folded her arms, a sly smile forming. "For?"
"You gave me the push I needed to talk about Uncle Ben. I probably would have been silent the entire time if it wasn't for you."
Felicia appreciated Peter's comment. "I'm glad I could help."
Peter smiled, but then something came to his mind. "Oh! Uh, I meant to ask you this last time, but that whole giant spider kind of ruined everything. You mind giving me your number? So, uh, you know, I can contact you for tutoring sessions."
It was at this moment Peter realized how he was saying it, his voice and everything about him becoming completely awkward. "I mean, obviously not in that way of course! The science tutoring! And uh, you know, we can stay in contact as friends and-!"
Felicia placed a finger on Peter's mouth, shushing him. "You don't need my number." she told him, catching Peter off guard with that comment since it clearly shocked him.
But then a smirk formed on her face, her voice suddenly turning seductive as she got closer to Peter's face and whispered into his ear.
"I have your number, though."
As soon as this comment was made, Peter's entire face turned into crimson red, as Felicia backed off him and was beginning to walk away.
"Ciao." she told him, walking away from Peter.
Only for a few short moments, though.
Seconds afterwards, she busted out laughing, making Peter the most confused man in the universe now.
Ladies and gentlemen, what we can ultimately determine here is that Felicia is the queen of trolls.
She walked back towards Peter, continuing her laugh. "You should have seen the look on your face!"
Peter was now the titanic, continuing to sink. "Oh haha, very funny! How else am I supposed to react?!" He was completely embarrassed when he realized he fell for Felicia's games.
Felicia soon composed herself, wiping a tear off her face from laughing so hard. Though, she would soon get serious again.
"All right, I had my fun. Truthfully, Peter, I already have your number. I asked Harry to give it to me and he added me in your little group chat."
Peter heard this and calmed down a bit. "Oh… Well, okay. That's good to know." he said.
Felicia placed a hand on Peter's shoulder. "Don't be afraid to text me or call me whenever you need help. Seeing you like that was depressing, and I don't want to see you sad again." she said seriously, with a touch of sweetness in there.
Peter couldn't help but to smile at Felicia trying to help him. "Yeah, I'll make sure to do that."
Felicia smiled, finally walking away for real this time as she waved goodbye. Peter was waving back to her until she was outta sight.
He sighed heavily to himself. "That was the perfect moment to kiss her, Parker! Right there! Right there! And you do nothing!" he told himself, groaning. "I need to talk to Miles' Uncle Aaron about girls. He's like the coolest guy on the planet." he said, making it a point to talk to Uncle Aaron when they meet up in the future.
Peter walked back inside and closed the door. Aunt May was busy washing the dishes, but she needed some additional help elsewhere. "Peter, do you mind if you go in the basement and tidy it up a bit? You don't have to do much, just make it neater."
Peter nodded. "You got it." he replied, soon going down to the basement. Once he made it, there was a ton of stuff down there.
Way too much stuff, to be specific.
Making it neater was going to be no small task. "Okay, this is going to take a while." said Peter, beginning to put some stuff in open spaces. There weren't many open spaces, but he was making the best out of his situation.
Then without realizing it, he came across a small stack of stuff, pulling one thing out of it which made the whole thing come tumbling down. "Oh boy!" he exclaimed, getting out the way before he got crushed.
Something odd would happen, though.
A suitcase would hit the floor, the impact immediately opening it up and it spit out a USB drive.
Peter saw the USB drive come out of the suitcase, finding it extremely odd for something like that to be down in the basement.
He bent down, grabbing it as he continued to analyze it.
"This is… odd."
While he was looking at it, Aunt May heard the little boom down in the basement. She would speak to him while being upstairs. "Everything okay, Peter?"
Peter put the USB drive in his pocket. "Yeah, yeah! Everything's fine! Just dropped some stuff!" he said, continuing to clean up everything.
But afterwards, you can bet your bottom dollar he was going to find out what this USB drive was about.
