Spider-Man: Fire and Desire

Author's Note: MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY! I SURVIVED COLLEGE FINALS, WOOOOOO! Anyway, lol, as you guys probably already know, this is the Christmas special. Just as a heads up, this chapter won't be as long as others. It's going to be more like a mini chapter of some sorts. I don't know the exact number of words, but it's definitely not going to be 13,000+ words like the last chapter. Hopefully, I'm not eating my words…

As for some reviews!

SpiderCatForever: Do I have the whole story ready in my head? Hmmmm… Yes, and no. No. Yes. Maybe? Who knows, maybe I'm trolling, haha! But yes, I do have a lot of it ready in my head.

chiripa012: Flash will definitely have a big impact on the story in the future. As for this Christmas story though, well, I'll explain it in more details to come.

Mnej: If you're glad there was a breaker in the last chapter, this chapter will be the definition of a breaker! Lol

Akira-Hayama: Yes indeed, we will surely see more Peter and Felicia since Spider-Man is 'no more.' I have a lot of stuff planned and it's going to be fun.

ElburR0: Thanks for binge reading! As for Black Cat's costume, I do like her PS4 look as well. Though, I'm not sure if I'm going to change her costume. At least at this moment, I'm not sure. We'll see. I should do a costume poll one day for all the characters.

Finally, this chapter will be set a year earlier, where Peter is still learning how to become Spider-Man and the rest of the gang is in junior year. Essentially, this is a prequel, and this is going to be wayyyy lighter in tone compared to the last few drama filled chapters. Are we good? I think we're good. Okay, 3, 2, 1, ACTION!

Chapter 7: A Very Spidey Christmas

Tell me there's somethin' better.

Spider-Man, the newest hero, or menace as J. Jonah Jameson would call him, was leaping from rooftop to rooftop in the night, as snow covered all of New York.

"YEEHAWWW!" Spidey exclaimed, leaping off a building and shooting out a web as he web-slinged all over the place.

Go ahead, try.

It's been a couple of months since Peter Parker became Spider-Man, and as such, he's still learning the ropes. Compared to when he initially started, his web swinging has gotten a whole lot better. He's not slamming into billboards anymore as he screams over his imminent doom.

There were still some things to iron out, but hey, all things considered, he's been teaching himself extremely well.

How I spent my Christmas Break, by Peter Benjamin Parker.

Getting closer to a nearby building, he started wall run on the side of it, keeping up his momentum as he continued to feel the rush and excitement he was getting from all of this. Ending his wall run, Spidey jumped off the building and did multiple flips, shooting out another web with his sheer velocity increasing with each passing second.

I can sum it up in one glorious, hyphenated word. Spider-Man.

I am The Amazing Spider-Man! Or… Should I go with Spectacular Spider-Man? Maybe Ultimate Spider-Man… Gah, I'll figure it out eventually. Maybe just Spider-Man to keep it simple?

Fortunately or unfortunately, his thoughts would be interrupted.

"Get away from me!"

Spider-Man's Spider Sense started to tingle, sensing someone was in danger. "Sounds like somebody needs my help!" he told himself, swinging as fast as he could to where he heard the voice. Looking down on the street, he saw two thugs trying to chase this young boy. Definite no no in Spidey's book. At best, the kid only looked to be about 10 years old.

"Come back here, you little brat!" one of the thugs said, he and his partner not giving up in their pursuit of chasing this kid all around New York.

"You're only making things worse for yourself!" the partner said, their hands being mere centimeters away from grabbing the kid.

That is, until Spidey showed up.

Spidey would jump right in front of the two thugs, sighing heavily as he shook his head. "Seriously guys? A kid? I mean, I know it's Christmas Eve and all, and people are doing last minute shopping, but don't ya think a store is a better place to do something like that?" he pointed out, folding his arms. "Gotta say, not too bright."

The thugs looked at each other in confusion, before looking back at Spider-Man. "Who the heck are you?!" they said in unison. Since Spidey was new to the scene during this time, he wasn't a household name.

These were the days where things seemed much simpler. Boy, if only he could see himself a year from now. Pain. Just pain.

"You mean you haven't heard of me?!" Spidey replied, acting like he was shocked. "Oh man, I can't have that in my city. But, since I am pretty new to the hero business, allow me to introduce myself."

Saying this, he slowly bowed like he was about to put on a performance of some sorts, which in a way, he kinda was.

"I am vengeance, I am the night, I am-! Wait, wait, wait. Crap. Wrong superhero." Spidey cut himself off, the thugs now looking at him in disbelief and confusion. Heck, the kid shared the same reaction too.

Spidey would then clear his throat. "Ahem. Let's try that again." He would pause, before lifting himself up to face the two thugs. "Who am I?" he repeated, clenching his fists.

"I'm Spider-Man."

Without wasting another second, Spidey rushed at the two thugs and and clocked one of them in the jaw, sending him flying across the pavement. To keep him from possibly getting away, Spidey shot a web to make him stick there.

"Marv!" the one thug cried out, seeing his partner get treated like he was some ragdoll.

Honestly, that wasn't too out of the ordinary for Marv, really.

His partner turned around, looking at Spider-Man with rage-filled eyes. "You're gonna pay for that, Web-Head!"

Spidey gave a shrug. "Hey, if you think you can make me pay, then make me pay." he replied, putting his face out so the thug could punch it. Spidey pointed right at his own face, saying, "Here, I'll give ya a free hit! Don't waste it!" he taunted, making the thug's eye twitch in annoyance.

"Oh, now you're asking for it!" the thug shouted, now beginning to run full speed towards Spider-Man, throwing his fist back as he got ready to punch the daylights out of him. Or, well, at least try to punch the daylights out of him.

Just before the thug was able to hit Spidey, a grappling hook was suddenly tying around his hand, making him come to a complete halt since he felt some resistance. "What the?!"

"I'm a cat burglar, but even I gotta say trying to rob a kid is wrong. Try robbing rich people next time."

This was the voice of Black Cat, who now yanked the thug to her position and ended up kicking him in the gut, immediately losing consciousness.

Spidey's eyebrow raised during this. "Huh. Who knew you had standards when it comes to stealing from people?" he pointed out, making Cat look his way.

"Well, my dear Spider, stealing from a kid is one of the times where I draw the line. Now, as for the rich and powerful, they definitely deserve it."

Spidey rubbed his forehead. "Just because there's rich and powerful people in the world doesn't give you the excuse to steal from them." he told her, and at this point in time, not yet realizing it would be one of the many times he tries to tell her.

Still, more important matters needed to be dealt with. Spidey turned around to face the kid he and Cat saved, checking up on him. "You okay, kid?" Spidey asked, as the kid replied with a nod.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Honestly, I had it all covered. I was leading them into a trap." the kid casually explained, making Spidey and even Cat tilt their heads.

"You were leading them into a trap?" Cat repeated, the kid nodding once more.

"Yeah, they've been chasing me for the past few days. Really, I'm not even supposed to be here in New York right now, but I got separated from my family and got on the wrong flight."

The way this kid was so casually explaining this story clearly caught Spidey's and Cat's attention. Like, he was explaining it like it was some regular routine of his life. "Oh, and they tried to get me a couple years back too, but I beat them. Somehow, they ended up here with me, but at least it gave me something to do."

With the story being explained to them, Spidey and Cat looked at each other in shock, before turning back to the kid. "Well… Uh, that's quite a story you got there, kid." Spidey said, scratching the top of his head. "So wait, your family realizes you got on the wrong flight, right?"

The kid shrugged. "Hmmm… Probably. Knowing them, they probably didn't realize it until their flight actually ended. They're pretty stupid, but I still love them, I guess."

"You know what, I gotta know your name." Cat said, clearly being curious since this kid seems like he's been through the craziest adventures. "What's your name?"

"Kevin." he replied, getting ready to run off. "Anyway, I gotta go now! It was nice meeting you, uh, Spider-Man and-" Kevin paused, not knowing Cat's name.

"Black Cat." she told him.

"Black Cat. Cool." Kevin added, approving the name by giving a nod of approval. "By the way, you're pretty. You and Spider-Man should definitely go out with each other. You guys make a good team." he finished, making Spidey blush under his mask as Cat could only laugh a bit. He began to run off, but Spidey wanted to make sure Kevin would be okay.

"Wait! Do you even have a place to stay?!" Spidey exclaimed.

Kevin would shout back, "Yeah, I do! Don't worry about me!"

And with that, Kevin was outta sight.

BGM: Margaret Whiting & Johnny Mercer – Baby, It's Cold Outside

Spidey's not really sure what just happened, but hey, at least he saved Kevin. "What a strange, exciting kid." he said, Black Cat nodding in response.

"Yep. But… Do you know what would be even more exciting?" Black Cat asked, her tone suddenly getting seductive.

Spidey turned to Cat, not yet getting what she was talking about. "Uh, what?" he asked so honestly and innocently. It's not like they've never flirted with each other before at this point, but Spider-Man was showing his Peter side in this case. He didn't… quite get it yet.

Cat had to laugh at Spidey's curiosity. It was cute, really. She came closer to him, using her index finger to point upwards.

With her pointing upwards, of course Spidey would look up himself to see what the heck she was talking about.

Let's say it didn't take long to figure things out.

"Oh… Would you look at that. A… mistletoe." Spidey slowly said, seeing the mistletoe hang on the building above them. His voice, his demeanor, everything was slowly becoming awkward for him.

"Don't act so scared, Spider. It's only a kiss." Cat said, winking at him as she started to lift up his mask.

"Uh, I don't think this is such a good idea-"

"Shhh," Cat replied, being calm and collected, showing a smirk. "Just let it happen."

Was Spidey still a bit nervous? Yeah, definitely. And you know, the whole thing about Black Cat being a criminal did cross his mind, but he couldn't deny the connection they had. It's like they both made each other weak. It's obvious Cat has the hots for Spidey. And when it comes to how Spidey feels, as much as he acts uptight about this whole thing, Cat worked her magic on him literally every time.

Their bodies started to move on autopilot, as their lips were getting closer and closer to each other. At this point, it was guaranteed to happen.

"My miiiiiind is tellin' me no…" Spidey thought to himself, but then he took one quick look at Black Cat. He felt like this was wrong. God, some hero he is. He's freely about to make out with a criminal.

A very, very, very hot criminal.

"But my body… MY BODY IS TELLIN' ME YES!" Spidey thought to himself again, now being disgusted with himself. "MY GOD, WHY CAN'T I STOP MYSELF?!"

"Excuse me, Spider-Man!"

Due to the sudden voice interrupting everything, Spider-Man fell back in classical anime fashion, while Black Cat just facepalmed herself.

"Oh, my bad, I didn't mean to scare you!"

Spider-Man held his head, groaning a bit. Honestly, he was kinda mad the whole thing between him and Cat got interrupted. But… another part of him was saying he shouldn't have even gotten that far in the first place.

Darn his hero complex!

When he got back on his feet and pulled the bottom of his mask back down, he saw the person who called his name, making his eyes widen.

"Miles?" Spidey thought to himself.

Miles ran towards Spider-Man, and started to shake his hand repeatedly. "Listen, I'm a big fan! A really big fan! Call me a fanboy if you want, but you're really cool."

Any anger Spidey may have had was washed away with Miles' kind words. "Thanks, Mi- I mean, uh, kid." Spidey caught himself, and quickly corrected himself before anyone else could notice.

"My name's Miles, by the way. I know it seems like I'm only here to fanboy over you and whatnot, but I actually come to you with an opportunity." Miles told him confidently, making Spidey tilt his head.

"An opportunity?"

"Yeah!" Miles said, grinning. "You see, I kinda have this hobby of making beats and stuff. I've always wanted to make Christmas music, but uh… I kinda need a voice to talk about Christmas stuff." Miles pointed out, the whole area now becoming silent.

"Don't get me wrong, you can always make a Christmas beat, but I think you need somebody to go along with the beat as well."

It took only a few moments for Spidey to connect the dots.

"Sooooo… What you're saying is… You want me to sing?"

Miles snapped his fingers. "Exactly! It'll be your own Christmas album!"

"It would be our Christmas album," Black Cat was now in this conversation, currently forgetting what almost happened between her and Spider-Man when the thought of making a Christmas album came into play. "And I have to ask…" she began, rubbing her hands together. "Is there money involved?"

"Money would definitely be involved!" Miles confirmed.

"And what's in it for you?" Black Cat asked.

"Just to get my name out there in the music business. I mean, a Christmas album with Spider-Man and Black Cat? Oh man, that would sell!" Miles was salivating at all the possibilities. "But I have to ask this question, since it is kinda important. You guys can sing, right?"

"We haven't even agreed to anythi-" Spidey started, but Black Cat cut him off.

"I can most certainly sing!" Black Cat proclaimed, clearing her throat. "Listen, and listen well! I'm a professional!"

Spidey's palms started to cover his face. There was no hope anymore. "Oh God…"

Black Cat would let it out.

Horribly.

"MEMORIES! ALL ALONE ON THE PAVEMENT! I REMEMBER A TIIIIIME I KNEW WHAT HAPPINESS WAS!"

Miles' ears started to bleed, and if Spidey didn't have his mask on, his ears could probably be seen bleeding as well. In fact, Cat's singing would start to break nearby glass on every corner. Spidey, who wanted this nightmare to end, put his hand over her mouth, clearly not wanting to go through this tragedy any longer. "Honey, I appreciate you trying, but… In this case, stick to being a cat burglar."

Cat removed Spidey's hand off her mouth, crossing her arms as she huffed and puffed. "Nobody recognizes my talent." she muttered.

With time passing, Spider-Man, or in this case, Peter began to think about this Christmas album idea. He did need money. Bah, who am I kidding, he always needs money, but especially around Christmas time. And with Uncle Ben now being gone, the first Christmas he's not going to be a part of, he feels a certain responsibility to help out Aunt May in whatever way he can.

He also needed a new camera to take better pictures for the Bugle, help Aunt May with the bills, and other stuff. The typical Parker stuff, you know.

He wouldn't use all of the money for himself, though. He would give it to charity as well, because that's just him being a good-hearted person.

But could he sing?

He has no idea.

But hey, money.

Even though he's sure Jameson will call him a sellout.

"All right, Miles. I'm in. Work your magic." Spidey told him.

Miles pumped his fists due to Spidey agreeing. "Yes!"

Miles' Home

Spider-Man and Black Cat were now in Miles' room, which was filled with posters, music stuff, and some rather new Spider-Man merch. Luckily, his father and mother weren't here right now, so it gave him the perfect opportunity to do his thing with no interruptions.

"All right, Spider-Man. I think I can sing with you on this part. You know Joy to the World, right?"

Spidey nodded. "Who doesn't know that song?"

Miles smirked. "Cool, cool. I'll be singing a part that relates to you, and when you come in, you actually describe those experiences."

"Wait, wait, wait, this is all off the top of my head?!" Spidey shouted, not expecting this which made Cat laugh.

"Good luck, Spider!" she said in a troll-like manner.

Miles would begin to count down. "And we're on in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!"

BGM: Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse – Joy To The World (That I Just Saved) ft. Miles Morales

"Joyyy to the world, that I just saved! You all can sleep soundly!"

This was Miles singing, and honestly, he wasn't half bad.

In fact, he was actually good.

"Your turn Spidey!"

"I GOT THIS!" Spidey yelled, being full of adrenaline.

Which really means he's going to mess everything up.

BGM Suddenly Changes: Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse – Spidey Bells

"OHHHHH, SPIDEY BELLS, SPIDEY BELLS, SWINGING THROUGH MIDTOWN! OH, WHAT FUN TO SLING A WEB AND TAKE THE BAD GUYS DOWN!"

Everything was going haywire.

"Wait, Spider-Man, that's the wrong song! THAT'S THE WRONG SONG!" Miles shouted, as Black Cat was now rolling on the floor laughing.

"I'M SAYING THE FIRST THINGS THAT COME TO MY MIND!" Spidey proclaimed, as he kept on going. "SPIDEY BELLS, SPIDEY BELLS, QUIPPING ALL THE TIME! OH, WHAT FUN TO SWING AROUND NEW YORK WHILE FIGHTING CRIME!"

It still wasn't over.

Black Cat would join in.

"MEMORIES! ALL ALONE-"

"THAT'S NOT EVEN A CHRISTMAS SONG!" Miles shouted.

On the night of Christmas Eve, this trio would go on to create the greatest Christmas album ever. Okay, greatest might be a stretch. And you better believe the Bugle headline the next day, in Jameson's voice, was, "SPIDER-MAN IS A SELLOUT!" But whether or not he became a sellout for one night, the Christmas album did make money. A Very Spidey Christmas, the name of the album, went on to be a massive hit. Peter was able to help Aunt May out with some of the bills, Christmas stuff, got a new camera, and gave the rest of it to charity, which Jameson later found out.

"WHAT?! HE GAVE HIS MONEY TO CHARITY?!"

Miles actually did get noticed by a few producers, but whether or not he actually gets into the music business is another thing entirely. He needs more than a one-hit wonder, but hey, this was a good place to start.

As for Cat, she decided to not take any of the money, letting Spidey and Miles keep whatever they got for themselves.

Besides, she can just steal that exact amount in one night from a bank or something, no big deal.

As ridiculous as this one night was, those three wouldn't change it for the world.

END OF CHAPTER 7: A VERY SPIDEY CHRISTMAS

BGM: John Legend – Silver Bells

Spider-Man: That was the most ridiculous thing I've ever been a part of…

Black Cat: The author was on crack when he made this.

Gwen: We're going to go back to the drama after this chapter, aren't we?

Miles: Oh God…

Harry: Hey, wait a minute! How come Gwen and I didn't appear in this chapter?!

Flash: Who cares about you two nerds?! What about me?!

Next time on Spider-Man: Fire and Desire!

Big Change

Spider-Man: Merry Christmas, everybody!

Author's Note: There's the little goofy Christmas chapter, lol. Like I said, complete shift in tone compared to the other chapters, as it focuses more on comedy and stupidity than drama, and drama… and more drama… You know, we need a break from that, man. I wanted to put Gwen and Harry in here, but I wasn't sure how, so the main characters were Spidey, Cat, and Miles. And, oh yeah, Kevin. If you guys know anything about Christmas movies, you know who Kevin is, haha. My apologies for not being able to fit Harry and Gwen, since I did say I wanted to include them in my last Author's Note. As for the next chapter, I am on Christmas Break, so it 'should' come pretty soon. Or I might abandon this or not update this in 7 years. BYE!

I'm trolling, I'm trolling. I'm never doing that, guys, lol. I don't know exactly when Chapter 8 is coming out, but it's gonna come out. Anyway, if you guys like what you read, leave a follow and a favorite! DON'T FORGET TO READ AND REVIEW! And Merry Christmas!

(P.S. Should I do a New Years special? I shouldn't… I really shouldn't… But I should. But I shouldn't. GOD, CURSE MY PASSION FOR WRITING! NO! YES! NO!)

Okay, seriously, Merry Christmas.
