In my YGO GX story, there will be a boy's dorm and a girl's dorm for every rank in Duel Academy. Honestly, with how much money Kaiba has, I'm surprised it didn't happen in the first place. Hope you like it.

Domino City; the birthplace of the king of games, Yugi Moto, the second-best duelist, Joey Wheeler, and the ambitious mogul, Seto Kaiba. It is also host to the Duel Academy entrance exams, where different duelists showcase their skills for the chance to attend the prestigious school owned by Seto Kaiba. Two duelists running to the Kaiba Dome. One duelist is a boy with brown messy hair, fair skin, and brown eyes. He is wearing a red shirt under a black jacket, black pants, and red sneakers. The other duelist is a girl who looks exactly like the boy, except she has her hair pulled up in a spikey ponytail. She is wearing a white button-up shirt under a red jacket, a black knee-length skirt, black wristbands, black leggings, and grey sneakers.

-Girl: Hustle, Jaden! We can't be late for this!

-Jaden: Alright! We got our decks, we got our gear...

-Girl: And we got 2 minutes to get to the Duel Academy entrance exams before they start! So I repeat, hustle!

-Jaden: Relax, Jorden! At least since we're not students yet, they can't throw us in detention hall for being late!

Jaden and Jorden start running through a crowded area.

-Jaden: Excuse us!

-Jorden: Pardon us!

-Jaden: Coming through!

-Jorden: Got exams to get to!

-Jaden: How ya doin'?

-Jorden: Later!

Jaden and Jorden bump into a man along the way causing them to drop some of their cards.

-Jaden and Jorden: Sorry.

They pick up their cards and dust them off.

-Man: You two are duelists, aren't you?

-Jorden: Yeah. My brother and I are going to try out at the academy.

-Man: You don't say.

The man reaches for his card holster and pulls out two cards.

-Jaden: Yeah. (chuckle) Hey, hey, you're...

-Man: Why don't you take these? Something just tells me that they belong with the two of you.

-Jaden: Wow. For real?

-Jorden: That's so generous of you. I'm not sure if we should take these.

The man walks away from the twins.

-Man: I insist. Good luck.

-Jaden: Hey, wait! Thank you! We'll make you proud!

Jorden and Jorden bow respectfully and the man responds with a thumbs up. The twins look at the cards they received. Jaden has a Winged Kuriboh card, and Jorden has a Kuribon card. Suddenly, they hear a cooing sound. They look around for the source, but can't find it.

-Jaden: Uh oh! The exams!

-Jorden: Oh man! Let's move!

The twins continue running to the Kaiba Dome.

-Jaden: I can't be the next king of games if I'm late to the games!

-Jorden: And I won't be late for my chance to make history!

Inside the Kaiba Dome, the Duel Academy entrance exams are underway. There are 4 duel fields separated by walls. In the stands, current Duel Academy students wearing red, yellow, and blue uniforms, and Academy applicants are watching the exam duels. In another part of the stands, Duel Academy faculty are watching the duels. One, in particular, is watching with a strict look on his face. He has semi-pale skin, grey eyes, purple lips, and blonde hair in a girlishly long ponytail. He is wearing a blue academy blazer with pink frills on the collar, the shoulders, and the cuffs, silver crescent moon earrings, black pants, and gray boots.

-Announcer: Once again, all academy applicants who have already passed the duel entrance exams please proceed to registration. For those who have failed, better luck next year.

-Man: (thinking) (British accent) And have fun at Duel Monsters community college. Hmhm.

In one of the duel fields, a duel exam is raging between a duel proctor and a young male applicant. He has white fair skin, gray eyes, and unruly turquoise hair. He is wearing a dark blue school uniform, small glasses under his eyes, and gray sneakers.

-Duelist: (thinking) Aw man. I can barely concentrate with all these academy kids staring at me. Judging me. What I wouldn't give to already be enrolled in a school like them.

-Announcer: Last call for all academy applicants. If you have not checked in for your exam, please do so now.

Outside at the dome parking lot, the staff at the registration table are waiting for more applicants.

-Staff member: Well, ladies, that's it. Mark all the no-shows, no-shows.

-Wait!

2 voices are coming from the edge of the parking lot.

-We're no no-shows.

2 pairs of hands grip the railing, and Jorden and Jaden pull themselves up.

-Jaden: You can count Jaden and Jorden Yuki as "present", thank you. Well just so long as we don't lose our grip.

Back inside the dome, there is another between another Procter and another male applicant. He has caucasian skin, gray eyes, and sleek black hair. He is wearing a gray school uniform and black shoes. The turquoise-haired applicant from earlier is now in the stands watching the duels and then the Yuki twins come up next to him.

-Jaden: Wow, look at him go.

In the duel field, the proctor (LP 1900) has Gear Golem the Moving Fortress (LVL 4/ ATK 800/ DEF 2200), and Big Shield Guardna (LVL 4/ ATK 100/ DEF 2600) both in defense mode. While the applicant (LP 3200) had Vorse Raider (LVL 4/ ATK 1900/ DEF 1200) in attack mode and one card face-down in his spell/trap zone.

-Proctor: Alright, new guy. Multiple choice; you have 2 monsters staring you down, do you A: throw in the towel, B: beg for mercy, or C: run home to mama?

-Applicant: (British accent) I'll go with D: none of the above!

He then activates his face-down card, Ring of Destruction.

-Proctor: A trap?

-Applicant: Exactly. You see, with Ring of Destruction, I can destroy any monster on the field that's in attack mode, and then we both take damage equal to that monster's attack points.

The ring of destruction appears around Vorce Raider's neck causing it to explode. The proctor's life points drop down to 0 while the applicant's go down to 1300.

-Proctor: Clever move, applicant. Welcome to the academy.

-Applicant: Thank you, O wise proctor.

At the top of the stands, three boys wearing blue blazers watched the duel finish. The boy in the middle has exceptionally pale skin, brownish-gray eyes, and spiky jet black hair. The boy to his right has fair skin, brown eyes, and brown spiky hair. The boy to their left has smooth slate-blue hair, black eyes, and wears small glasses.

-Blue hair: (Southern accent) Wow, that guy's pretty good, don't you think, Chazz?

-Brown hair: Guess the rumors about him being some kinda whiz kid was true, huh Chazz, huh?

-Chazz: He's a punk. We went to duel prep school for the past 3 years. We're ready for the academy. These kids don't know what they're getting into, but they'll learn... the hard way, the Chazz Princeton way.

Back in the applicant stands...

-Jorden: Woah, that guy tore it up.

Young duelist: Yeah, that's Bastion Misawa. They say he got the highest grade on the written exam out of all of us applicants.

-Jaden: My sister and I just barely passed ours.

-Young Duelist: Yeah, me too. My name's Syrus, by the way. Nice to meet you. I kinda have a thing where I get test anxiety. I don't know how I won my match.

-Jaden: So you're in?

Jaden pats Syrus on the back.

-Jorden: Congrats, little dude. We'll be in as soon as we win our duels.

-Syrus: Wait, you two haven't dueled yet?

-Jaden: Nah.

-Syrus: Then you might have a problem. I think this was supposed to be the last one.

The twins cringed at that statement. In the faculty stands...

-Proctor 1: Looks like we have a pretty good crop this year.

-Proctor 2: Yes, indeed.

The man from the parking lot approaches the blonde man.

-Staff member: I'm sorry to interrupt, but a boy and a girl have arrived to take their exams, Mr. Crowler.

-Crowler: Did you just call me mister?

-Staff member: Oh, sorry. I'm new here, missus...

-Crowler: I have a Ph.D. in dueling. I've earned the title "doctor", thank you. Now, tell the truants that they'll just have to come back next year.

-Proctor 1: Oh, come on, Dr. Crowler. We have time for two more.

-Proctor 3: Yes, let's give these duelists their chances.

-Proctor 2: They were just a bit late. That's all.

-Crowler: LATE IS RUDE! I've no time for slackers!

Suddenly, Crowler's cell phone rings.

-Crowler: Hello? And who may I ask is...

- (over the phone) It's Sheppard.

-Crowler: Ah, Chancellor Sheppard.

-Chancellor Sheppard: (over the phone) Just calling to make sure that everything's running smoothly, Crowler. Wouldn't want a repeat of what happened last year. When you cut a third of our student applicants for some ridiculous reason. What was it? Calling you mister or missus? Whatever. Just make sure everyone gets a fair shot.

-Crowler: Absolutely. (hangs up his phone) Furry-chinned windbag. (thinking) Doesn't he realize that there are enough talentless flunkies at this academy? But he's the boss. If he wants to give these scrimshankers their duels, fine. (out loud) Pardon me, gentlemen. I'll be right back.

-Proctor 1: But who's gonna be their dueling proctors, and which exam deck should we use?

-Crowler: Hm. One of you will take care of the girl. Leave the boy to me.

In the applicant stands, Bastion takes a seat in front of Syrus, Jaden, and Jorden.

-Jaden: Tight duel, Bastion.

-Bastion: Thank you.

-Jorden: From the looks of it, you might just be the 3rd best duelist here.

Bastion and Syrus are surprised by the comment.

-Announcer: Attention, will Jorden Yuki please report to exam field #2? I repeat, Jorden Yuki, please report to exam field #2.

-Jorden: That's my cue. Wish me luck, you guys.

Jorden starts walking down the stairs, but Bastion stops her.

-Bastion: Hold on. If I'm the 3rd best duelist, who might the 2nd and 1st be?

-Jorden: Me and my brother here. And obviously, I'm 1st.

-Jaden: In your dreams, sis. I'm 1st.

-Jorden: Yeah, 1st born. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got an exam to pass.

-Syrus: Wow, she's so confident.

-Jaden: Yeah, she gets that from me.

In exam field #3, the same proctor that dueled Bastion is on one side of the field. Jorden rose on a platform on the opposite side of the field. She then soluted to the proctor.

-Jorden: Jorden Yuki reporting for testing, chief.

-Proctor: That's proctor to you, young lady. Now, I'm sure you're aware of the stipulation.

-Jorden: Yep, I win this duel, and I'm off to Duel Academy. I lose, and I try again next year.

Jorden activates her KC Series 2 duel disk.

-Jorden: But I can assure you, this year's gonna be my year.

-Proctor: We'll see about that.

The proctor activates his Duel Academy duel disk.

-Both: LET'S DUEL!

Jorden- 4000

Proctor- 4000

-Proctor: I'll let you go first.

-Jorden: Well aren't you a gentleman. I draw!

Jorden looks at the card she drew.

-Jorden: I'll start with 2 cards facedown.

She places 2 facedown cards in her spell/trap zone.

-Jorden: Then I'll bring out Test Ape in attack mode.

Jorden summons a chimpanzee with wired goggles around its head and a metal device on its left arm. (LVL 2/ ATK 700/ DEF 300)

-Jorden: And that'll do it for now. You're up.

-Proctor: Alright then. I draw! I summon the Armored Lizard in attack mode.

The proctor summons a lizard wearing blue armor. (LVL 4/ ATK 1500/ DEF 1200)

-Proctor: Now attack that ape!

The Armored Lizard uses its claws to slash Test Ape into pixelated dust.

Jorden- 4000-3200

Proctor- 4000

-Jorden: Sorry to disappoint, but you just activated Test Ape's ability. Now that it's in the graveyard, I can special summon a level 4 or lower monster straight from my deck. Come on out, Gladiator Beast Equeste!

A muscular centaur wearing blue battle armor and carrying a shield appears in front of Jorden. (LVL 4/ ATK 1600/ DEF 1200)

-Syrus: Gladiator Beast?

-Jaden: Yeah. They're a mix of two of Jorden's favorite things; warriors and animals.

-Bastion: It is quite a fearsome archetype. And by the looks of it, Jorden has a personality to match it.

-Proctor: Not bad. I'll end my turn.

-Jorden: I draw! I activate this! It's called Gladiator Proving Ground! This lets me add a level 4 or below monster to my hand.

Jorden looks through her deck, takes out a monster card, and shuffles her deck.

-Jorden: Now, I think I'll summon it. Gladiator Beast Tygerius, come on out!

Jorden summons a light green tiger with black armor. Tgerius comes out of a portal with a roar. (LVL 4/ ATK 1800/ DEF 800)

-Jorden: Next, I'm gonna bring out one of my best! Equeste, Tygerius, time to fuse! Introducing Gladiator Beast Essedarii!

Equeste and Tygerius disappear into a portal and a gorilla wearing gold battle armor and riding a gold chariot and carrying a club takes their place. (LVL 5/ ATK 2500/ DEF 1400)

The crowd is surprised by the way Jorden summoned her monster.

-Syrus: Hold on. How was Jorden able to fusion summon without Polymerization?

-Bastion: The fusion monsters for the Gladiator Beast deck don't require Polymerization to fusion summon.

-Jaden: Yep, all she has to do is shuffle the beasts needed into her deck.

At the top of the stands, there is a girl with sandy-blonde hair wearing a blue girl's uniform and a boy with dark blue hair wearing a blue boy's uniform watching the duel.

-Girl: A fusion summon without Polymerization? This should be interesting.

-Boy: Hmm.

-Jorden: Next, I'll activate the Poison Fangs spell card!

Essedarii's teeth suddenly get sharper with the tips turning a toxic green color.

-Jorden: Now attack Armored Lizard!

Essedarii jumps out of his chariot and beats Armored Lizard with his club.

Jorden- 3200

Proctor- 4000-3000

-Jorden: And here's the best part. Since Essedarii dealt some damage with Poison Fangs active, you take 500 extra points of damage!

Essedarii runs to the proctor and bites down on his duel disk.

Jorden- 3200

Proctor- 3000-2500

-Jorden: I'll end my turn here.

-Proctor: It's my turn! I summon Maha Vailo in attack mode.

The proctor summons a woman wearing a purple robe-like dress. (LVL 4/ ATK 1550/ DEF 1400)

-Proctor: Next I activate the Book of Secret Arts, and equip it to Maha Vailo giving her 300 attack and defense points.

A book appears in front of Maha Vailo, and as soon as she reads it, a white aura emanates from her. (ATK 1550-1850)

-Proctor: Next is another equip spell, the Black Pendent. Thanks to this, she gains 500 attack points.

The black pendant appears around Maha Vailo's neck. (ATK 1850-2350)

-Proctor: And that's not all. Maha Vailo's special ability allows her to gain 500 attack points for each equip spell she has.

Maha Vailo's aura glows again. (ATK 2350-3350)

Back in the stands with Chazz's group...

-Brown hair: 3350 attack points?

-Blue hair: This girl's almost done for.

-Chazz: Shocker, another flunky.

Back to the duel...

-Jorden: I see your monster's effect and raise you a trap.

Jorden activates one of her facedown cards. It shows Essedarii's golden chariot.

-Jorden: The Gladiator Beast War Chariot. Since you activated your monster's effect while one of my beasts is on the field, not only can I negate Maha Vailo's effect, I can also get rid of her.

Essedarii rides on his chariot and destroys Maha Vailo.

-Jorden: And before you say anything, I know about Black Pendant's other effect. I get slammed with 500 points of damage when it's destroyed.

Jorden- 3200-2700

Proctor- 2500

-Proctor: Clever. I end my turn.

Jorden draws.

-Jorden: And I'll end this duel with a direct attack! Chariot Charge! (I'm not sure if that's the actual name for the attack, so I'll just make some up)

Essedarii rides his chariot and swings his club on the Proctor's duel disk.

Jorden- 2700

Proctor- 2500-0

Jorden gives the proctor a two-fingered salute and a wink.

-Jorden: And that's game.

-Syrus: She won!

-Jaden: Awesome! Way to duel, sis!

-Proctor: Not bad, young lady. Welcome to Duel Academy.

-Jorden: Thank you much, sir.

Jorden descends on her platform as she exits the field. Suddenly, she hears a cooing sound but can't find the source of it. She just shrugs it off and walks to the stands.

-Announcer: Attention. Will Jaden Yuki please report to exan field #4? I repeat, Jaden Yuki, please report to exam field #4.

-Jaden: Alright. Go time.

-Syrus: Hope you do as well as Jorden.

-Jaden: Don't worry about me. Dueling's what I'm best at.

Jaden walks down the stairs to the duel exam.

-Syrus: He's so sure of himself. Just like Jorden. I wonder if he's that good.

-Bastion: He's going to need to be. Look who he's dueling.

Jorden takes a seat next to Bastion.

-Jorden: Be honest, was I great, or was I awesome?

-Syrus: You were amazing, Jorden.

-Bastion: Yes, a fine match indeed. You've certainly earned your place in the academy.

-Jorden: Aw thanks.

A few minutes later, Jaden rises to the field on a platform with Dr. Crowler on the other side wearing a futuristic dueling device.

-Crowler: Alright, test time. So son, your name?

-Jaden: Uh, Jaden. Jaden Yuki.

-Crowler: Well, 'uh, Jaden Yuki', I'm Dr. Vellian Crowler, department chair of techniques here at Duel Academy.

-Jaden: Wow, a department chair, I had no idea. From the way you were dressed, I was thinking you were some kinda weird academy mascot. Like a majorette, or a cheerleader. (laugh)

Chazz's group...

-Blue hair: Hey, you know, now that he mentions it...

-Brown hair: This kid's got some lip, huh, Chazz?

Back at the duel...

-Crowler: Duel vest on.

Crowler draws five cards for his hand.

-Jaden: Woah. Pretty sweet, teach. How do I get one of those cool blue duel blazers?

-Crowler: Oh, a lot of hard work and extremely high marks. (thinking) Of course, you first have to get into Duel Academy and I intend to make certain that won't be happening.

-Jaden: Well, I'm ready.

-Both: SO LET'S DUEL!

Dr. Crowler: 4000

Jaden: 4000

-Jaden: Here goes!

Jaden draws and looks at the cards in his hand.

-Jaden: Sweet! I'm gonna summon Elemental Hero Avian.

Jaden summons a green man/bird hybrid to the field. He kneels with his arms crossed in a defensive position. (LVL 3/ ATK 1000/ DEF 1000)

-Syrus: Elemental Hero?

-Bastion: Another deck that relies on fusions.

-Jorden: Except Jaden needs fusion cards to bring them out.

-Jaden: I'll also throw down a facedown. Alright, get your game on.

-Crowler: Yes, very good. (thinking) Don't tell me what to do.

Crowler draws a card.

-Crowler: (thinking) After all, since I'm using my deck rather than one of those test decks, I'll be calling all the shots. I'll fail that insolent little brat and send him home in no time. (out loud) Alright, for my first move, I think I'll start nice and easy. I choose to play the spell card, Confiscation.

-Jaden: Okay, so what does it do?

-Crowler: What it does is allow me to pay 1000 life points for the chance to peek at the cards in your hand and toss one of them into the graveyard.

Crowler- 4000-3000

Jaden- 4000

Holographic images of Jaden's hand cards appear in front of Crowler.

-Crowler: Oh yes. I remember some of these from back when I was a naive rookie. Hm, now which one should I banish? Monster Reborn to the graveyard. Next, I'll lay 2 cards facedown on the field. And last but not least, I'll play Heavy Storm! This card destroys every other spell and trap card on the field.

A strong wind storm starts blowing as it destroys the spells and/or traps that both duelists had.

-Jaden: Whoopsie. Did you forget that you had 2 traps on the field yourself?

-Crowler: Now, now. You mustn't speak out of turn, young scholar.

Suddenly, gray clouds start forming around Crowler.

-Jaden: What's happening?

-Crowler: Nothing's happening. Not yet.

2 gold serpents appear in front of Crowler. (LVL 4/ ATK 1000/ Def 1000)

-Crowler: But that's about to change.

The crowd gasps at the move that Crowler made.

-Syrus: Uh, could someone tell me what just happened?

-Bastion: The 2 trap cards that were on Dr. Crowler's field were called Staite of the Wicked. It's a special trap that creates a vicious token monster when destroyed. That's why he played Heavy Storm.

-Syrus: Oh.

-Jorden: That doesn't sound like anything that should be in an exam deck.

Chazz's group...

-Blue Hair: A card that strong can't be in one of the test decks. Crowler must be using his own.

-Brown Hair: Then this is over. No applicant can beat the deck of an expert like Dr. Crowler.

-Blue Hair: Yeah, it's impossible, right Chazz?

-Brown Hair: Yeah, what do you think, Chazz?

-Chazz: I think I'm going to enjoy watching Crowler mop the floor with our mouthy little friend down there. I just wish he treated all the other second-rate duelists who applied to this academy the same way.

At the top of the stands...

-Blonde girl: What an elitist snob. Bullying an amateur with his very best cards.

-Boy: You're too soft, Alexis. I hope we see that legendary rare monster Crowler has stashed away in his deck.

Back at the duel...

-Crowler: Ready for your next lesson?

-Jaden: (laugh) You bet! I can't remember the last time learning was this much fun!

-Crowler: Yes, well. I'm quite an excellent teacher, thank you. And now I sacrifice my 2 Wicked tokens and summon Ancient Gear Golem!

The crowd gasps as Crowler summons a giant rusted robot.

-Alexis: There it is. The legendary rare card!

-Boy: And I'd say we're about to see what makes this monster so legendary.

Jaden is stunned as Ancient Gear Golem towers over Crowler. (LVL 8/ ATK 3000/ DEF 3000)

-Crowler: Now, now. I hope you're not too scared of my legendary Ancient Gear Golem.

-Jaden: Aw, no way! I've always wanted to take one on!

Everyone except Jorden is surprised by Jaden's reaction.

-Syrus: Either Jaden's brave or he's nuts!

-Jorden: It's a little of both.

At the top...

-Boy: He's staring down that legendary monster like it's nothing. I guess youth and inexperience have their benefits. Huh, Alexis?

-Alexis: Give it a rest, Zane. At least the kid's showing some backbone.

-Zane: There won't be much left of it to show after this.

Back to the duel...

-Crowler: (laugh) Golem attack! Mechanized Melee!

The Golem's gears start spinning as its giant mechanical fist punches Avian into pixelated dust.

-Syrus: Jaden's monster didn't stand a chance. His defense points were way too low. This isn't looking good.

-Bastion: And it's about to look a lot worse. When that Ancient Gear Golem attacks a monster in defense mode, the difference between its attack points and the defending monsters' defense points gets dealt to the opponent as damage.

-Syrus: But that would mean...

-Jorden: Jaden's life points are gonna take a major hit.

The golem's giant fist lands on Jaden.

Crowler- 3000

Jaden- 4000-2000

-Crowler: (laugh) Don't feel bad. This is the top dueling school in the country. Some people simply aren't... cut out... for...

Crowler is interrupted by Jaden's laughter.

-Jaden: Boy, I really wanna come to this school now! You know your stuff, teach!

Crowler becomes frustrated by Jaden's enthusiasm.

-Crowler: (thinking) Can't he take a hint?! He will not be allowed to pass this exam! And he certainly won't be permitted to make a mockery of my deck!

-Jaden: (thinking) Just look at him tremble. He must be impressed by me.

Jaden draws his next card and then hears a familiar cooing noise.

-Jaden: (thinking) What was that?

Jaden looks at the card he drew, and it's the Winged Kuriboh card he received from the stranger.

-Jaden: (thinking) It's you.

Flashback

-Man: Why don't you take these? Something just tells me that they belong with the two of you.

End of flashback

-Jaden: (thinking) Y'know, something's telling me that too.

The picture of Winged Kuriboh winks at Jaden.

-Jaden: (thinking) Alright, I'll take that as a sign to play you. Yeah, definitely. (out loud) Okay, I summon Winged Kuriboh in defense mode!

Winged Kuriboh flies in front of Jaden. (LVL 1/ ATK 300/ DEF 200)

-Jaden: And I'll place a card facedown! Not too bad, huh, teach?

-Crowler: (laugh) No, not bad, but you must understand I'm a master technician. A Kuriboh, to me, is rather pedestrian. Even one with wings, you see, its defense points are still no match for my Ancient Gear Golem. It's a textbook mistake, don't feel bad. Now let's proceed.

Crowler draws a card.

-Crowler: With my legendary Ancient Gear Golem! Attack that Kuriboh with Mechanized Melee!

Ancient Gear Golem destroys Winged Kuriboh, but Jaden's life points remain the same.

-Jaden: (thinking) Sorry, Winged Kuriboh.

-Crowler: Hmph. Check your gear. Your life points haven't changed.

-Jaden: My gear's fine. On the turn Winged Kuriboh's destroyed, I don't take any damage.

At the top of the stands...

-Alexis: How about that. A technique the good doctor didn't know.

-Zane: No one can be expected to know every technique, Alexis! Especially one as obscure as that.

-Alexis: Yeah? Well, that kid sure knew it.

Back at the duel...

-Crowler: Fine, fine. I guess your lame little monster saved you there.

-Jaden: Hold on, teach. You may have beaten him, but that doesn't give you the right to call him lame.

-Crowler: Ah, yes. I forgot how attached you new duelists are to your monsters. I'm sorry.

-Jaden: Yeah? Well, you should be. Cause by attacking Winged Kuriboh, you set off a trap card. One of my favorites too. Hero signal!

The trap shows a sky signal with the letter H shining over a city at night.

-Jaden: And that brings out my second Elemental Hero! Burstinatrix!

Jaden summons a female monstersleeveless catsuit, red elbow-length fingerless gloves, and a gold helmet in a blaze of fire wearing a red. (LVL 3/ ATK 1200/ DEF 800)

-Jaden: My turn!

The card Jaden drew was a spell card with a picture of a city at night.

-Jaden: Winged Kurioh, this next one is for you. Here goes nothing! First off, I'm gonna bring Avian back to my hand with the spell card "The Warrior Returning Alive"! And now, I'm gonna summon him to the field!

Jaden makes Elemental Hero Avian return to the field.

-Crowler: Oh, okay, another amateurish mistake, but this is good, this is good. Now can anyone tell me what our little friend...

-Jaden: I'm not finished yet. See, I know that my 2 monsters aren't as powerful on their own. But if I can bring them together, it's a different story! And I have just the card to unite!

Jaden shows a spell with a picture of a green and blue spiral and 2 orange monsters floating above it.

-Jaden: Go Polymerization! Now Avian and Burstinatrix combine to form... Elemental Hero Flame Wingman!

Jaden's monsters fuse to form a muscular red and green amalgamation of Burstinatrix and Avian. He has a wing on the left side of his back and a red dragon head as his right hand. (LVL 6/ ATK 2100/ DEF 1200)

-Jaden: Hope your golem's ready for a clash of the titans! So teach, what do you think?

-Crowler: I think you're dueling very well for an amateur, but next time, try summoning a monster that has more attack points than what's already out.

-Syrus: What's he mean?

-Bastion: He means that Flame Wingman's attack points are no match for his golem's 3000. Shame too, because when Flame Wingman destroys a monster, that monster's attack points are dealt to its owner as damage.

-Syrus: You mean they're deducted from his life points?

-Jorden: Yeah, and I know Jaden's got something to up the ante in this.

-Bastion: How do you know, exactly?

-Jorden: I dueled him tons of times. I know his strategies like the back of his deck. Trust me, he's got something up his sleeve.

-Crowler: Alright, young scholar. I don't mean to rush you but I am a busy man. Are you done yet?

-Jaden: Of course, I'm not done yet. And of course, I knew that my Flame Wingman had fewer attack points than your golem. That's why I have this!

Jaden holds up a spell card depicting a moonlit city.

-Jaden: Skyscraper!

He activates the spell, and many tall buildings surround the two duelists. As Ancient Gear Golem is on the ground, Flame Wingman is on the tip of a metal spire on top of a building.

-Jaden: Alright, Flame Wingman! Show off those heroics and attack that Ancient Gear Golem!

Wingman flies towards Ancient Gear Golem.

-Crowler: Fine with me. Bring him on. This silly little skyscraper field card hasn't lowered my golem's power by one point.

-Jaden: You're right! It hasn't What it's done is raise Wingman's power by a grand total of one thousand! (ATK 2100-3100)

-Crowler: Wait, time out!

-Jaden: Go! Skydive Scorcher!

Wingman dives downward towards Ancient Gear like a meteor. Everyone besides Jorden gasps as Wingman collides with the golem causing a big explosion and causing the golem to fall apart to Crowler's dismay.

Crowler- 3000- 2900

Jaden- 2000

-Crowler: This can't be! He was my very best card!

-Jaden: That's not all, teach. Because of my Wingman's superpower, the attack points of that golem are dealt straight to your life points. Sweet huh?

-Crowler: No way!

Crowler starts panicking as his prized monster falls to pieces on top of him.

Crowler- 2900-0

Jaden: 2000

Jaden gives the same two-fingered salute as Jorden along with a wink.

-Jaden: And that's game. So I guess I passed the test. Huh, teach?

The field spell and the crumbled monster disappear with Crowler still on the ground.

-Crowler: Impossible. There's no way this delinquent could defeat me.

Chazz and his lackeys stare at Jaden, mouths agape.

-Chazz: It must be dumb luck. No way Crowler could lose to some flunky.

-Alexis: That kid's got a future here. Wow.

Alexis looks over to Zane as he walks away.

-Syrus: Alright! Yeah, Jaden!

-Jorden: Told ya he was gonna win!

-Bastion: (thinking) Nice. I could use a little competition.

Jorden goes down to the duel field to congratulate her brother.

-Jaden: I made the academy!

After Jaden blow kisses to the audience, he picks out the Winged Kuriboh card from his deck. Suddenly, Jorden enters the duel field and gives her brother a big hug and a fist bump.

-Jorden: Way to go, bro! We're in!

Jaden looks at Winged Kuriboh.

-Jaden: We're all in. And from here on out Winged Kuriboh, we're partners.

Winged Kuriboh winks at Jaden. After that, the twins raise their victorious fists in the air.

-Jaden and Jorden: Duel Academy, here we come!
