Chapter 25

"I don't know…" Dick sounded uncertain.

"No?" Wally pushed.

"Wally, you're a great guy, I'm sure anyone would be lucky to have you… but we've been a certain way for so long…to suddenly become something else…"

The redhood forced a smile, glimpsing down at the ground once like he was dealing with a rejection already before looking back up. No, he couldn't just give up like that, their whole friendship was on the line. Dick sounded unsure, not repulsed, so there was potential if he possibly pushed the other further.

"It would be nice if that person was you…we practically know everything about each other. I couldn't imagine myself with anyone else."

"…Have you always felt like this?" Dick couldn't help but ask.

"I don't know when it started but maybe…?"

"I see…" The ravenette didn't know how to feel about that. He would think something akin to betrayal but to his surprise he held no resentment or ill feeling. "Well, anyways, we should be heading back now…"

"Hey, Dick, can I do something?" Wally harmlessly suggested one last thing before they parted ways.

"Huh, yeah sure, what's up?" Dick naively agreed and allowed Wally to grab his wrist and lead him behind a building. He wasted no time and pecked the other's cheek, a sweet tender yet loving kiss. Dick was taken back but didn't move away. He fought a blush and awkward tightening feeling as Wally separated a few inches away, looking straight into his eyes. When he registered no rejection, the redhead felt bolder and snatched his lips this time. Another quick, chaste kiss connecting them together. It hardly lasted half a minute as Dick averted his heated face with the back of his hand over his mouth.

Before he voiced his opinions, the redhead hastily spoke up. "We should head out. I also have to stop by the Justic League center to talk about a few things." He smiled looking over the other's head on to the streets, ignoring the way his cheeks were warming or how his heart was thumping loudly.

"Y-yeah…" With that they silently walked to the bus stop and parted ways.

"Bruce…mh…" Jason moaned as none other than Bruce's tongue filled his mouth. "Are you sure about this? Here?" The ravenette reminded as they kissed behind one of the hallway statues.

Bruce detached himself for a brief moment with an incredulous frown, hand still holding on to the younger's cheek. "Spare me the innocent act Jason. You were staring at me so intently to the point I couldn't concentrate."

"Mhn~" The teen averted his eyes, with a secret smirk, guilty as charged. "Okay, so maybe I stared, I didn't do anything?"

"Did you not, now?" Bruce raised a brow. "So, who was running their hand over my shoulders as they passed by? Or pressing on my back? Or even initiated the kiss?"

Flashback:

"Hn, oh hey Brurce. You working?" Jason knocked Bruce's study room but entered before he heard a response. Then again, it was him, Bruce couldn't reject him.

"Just a few unavoidable documents that need my attention." Bruce responded without lifting his head.

"I see." The teen was a little disappointed, but what was he expecting. The younger trotted in, passing by letting his hand saunter across Bruce's shoulders from one end to the other as he made it to the couch. Jason leaned back into the couch, back resting on the armchair as he kicked his legs up. Bruce passed him a curious glance but went back to his work almost immediately. Hardly five minutes passed by when Jason stood up again. "Do you have water here?"

"Yes, the jug is on the table by the wall." The elder answered again without budging, skimming through the paper in front of him like nothing.

"Okay." The ravenette quietly mouthed, grabbing himself a glass. "You want some?"

"No thank you."

Jason stared at the other as he gulped half a glass down. After placing the glass down, the younger waltz over to Bruce once more, right behind him this time, leaning over his shoulder, chest rubbing the elder's back. "How is it that you get no break? Or you just like the grind?" Jason shifted closer, practically feeling the other's rigid back muscles through the thin button down shirt.

"With power comes responsibility."

The ravenette exuded a loose chuckle. "Okay Mr. CEO." Jason wrapped his arms from behind and idly stared down at the document along with Bruce.

"…Jason." Bruce voiced after a whole minute of silence.

"Hn?"

"How long do you plan to lean over me like this?"

"…" Jason didn't respond immediately. "Does it bother you?" He somewhat whispered into the elder's ear. Bruce shut his eyes. That was a difficult question. He didn't mind the physical contact but at the same time…he didn't want to encourage the teen's emotions even more.

"I am trying to get work done."

"You're always working."

"Someone has to."

"Now you're making me sound lazy." Jason begrudged. "I'm just saying why not relax when you're at home?"

"Well, it's not as if I have anything else to do at home." Bruce deadpanned. That stung the teen momentarily. The younger didn't know what came over him but he sunk his lips in the elder's neck, pecking it. Bruce automatically swung his head around.

"Jason-what are you—"

"Nevermind. You don't have anything to do huh? I'll just leave you to your work then." The ravenette deliberately pouted.

"Jason—" Bruce called out but the teen was already walking away. 'Seriously, his partner was such a handful sometimes.' The elder would leave him be, but something in him wouldn't allow him to sit still and in the next minute, he began following the teen down the hall. Bruce reached out and grabbed the younger's wrist.

"What now? Didn't you have work?" Jason spat. Bruce frowned, he knew exactly what the other was playing at, and yet he fell bait for it. Jason didn't give him time to think and held the elder's face, smacking his lips against the other's. All rationality left Bruce's brain as he slammed the teen against the wall behind one of the statues and aggressively continued the kiss. Tongues began swirling and exchanging saliva in no time.

Jason moaned. "Bruce are you sure about this? Here?"

End of Flashback.

"But anyways, you're right. We shouldn't do this here. You should learn to control yourself." Bruce boldly said and stepped away.

Jason let out a disbelieving gawk. 'The nerve! After aggressively pushing me against the wall! Che. Whatever. I'm gonna make him fall for me.'

Batman was bombarded by Talia one night and a life changing confession was made. He had a son. A full ten year old son with a snarky mouth. At one point, batman had no choice but to bring his son home.

"Welcome back sir." Alfred greeted them at the foot of the batcave as the batmobile drifted into park. "I presume this is the young man of whom you spoke." Damian Wayne hopped out of the car.

"Hello Pennyworth , I've heard of you." The boy stoically spoke, before whipping his head around. "Where are the rest of the servants?"

"I am the sum total." Alfred raised a brow at the kid's outspokenness.

"You have only one servant?" Damian directed towards his father.

"He's not a servant, he's a friend." Bruce replied.

"Whatever," Damian trotted up the stairs to where all the costumes stood.

"He's a splitting image of you at that age, it's a bit chilling." Alfred voiced.

"Tell me about it." Was all batman could say.

"It's looks rather plain." Damian commented, standing before Jason's old skin tight Robin costume.

"Master Jason wore that during duty." Alfred responded, coming up the stairs as well.

"And where is he now?" The kid's voice held a hint of a superiority.

"Moved on. And so shall we. Now come, would you like to see where you will be sleeping?" The butler changed topics and led the kid to the manor.

They passed the living room where Tim was on his laptop. Dick was in the kitchen nearby and Bruce called out to him so he could join them. "Dick, a minute."

"Master Dick, how many times have I told you there is no need for you to be in the kitchen." Alfred sighed.

"Sorry bad habit." Dick sheepishly laughed. "But I just want to help Alfie, we're all in this together." The man noticed a new kid. "Aw, who's this? Look at that spiky head, how cute—" Dick was in the process of placing his hand over the kid's head.

"And you look like an idiot." That statement alone made Dick stop half-way.

"Eh..?" Dick was not expecting that response.

"Damian, respect." Bruce reminded.

"He disrespected me first." Damian pointed.

"Disrespected…?" Dick's mind was still blown.

"This is Tim and Dick." Bruce introduced.

"…Dick?" Damian repeated and Dick rolled his eyes. He was still a kid mentally after all.

"It's a nickname. My real name is Richard." The elder brother clarified.

"If you're going to introduce them, at least have the courtesy to say full names and how they're even remotely related to you?"

It was Bruce turn to roll his eyes, mentally.

"What is this, an interview?" Tim remarked towards the younger's comment.

"Guys, this is Damian. He'll be staying with us from now on." Bruce turned back to his son. "They are your brothers from now on. I've adopted them into the Wayne family."

"Hah?!" Damian gawked rudely. "Just randomly? What is this, a pity house?"

"Okay kid, now you need to watch that tongue of yours before I go pulling it out."

"Yeah, wow, rude. How old are you, five?" Tim added. There was tension and electricity crackling from both sides of the room between the three.

"Okay, I expect full cooperation and respect." Bruce interjecting, already feeling a mild headache coming his way. "Damian is my biological son, or so I've been told, you all will be living together, so get used to each other."

"What?! Your son?! Wait you never mentioned…" Dick exclaimed.

"I just found out myself."

"Hm, if u ask me, seems like some ex is trying to con you into child support, B." Dick put a finger on his chin, looking serious, but Bruce only gave him an incredulous look.

"I won't have you speaking trash about my mother. Where are your parent?" Damian spat.

"Damian." Bruce growled.

"Hmph." The kid walked out of the living room. "Pennyworth show me to my room."

"Of course, master Damian." Alfred followed suite.

"Wow…I'm speechless. Were you this troubled as a kid too?" Dick inevitably asked.

"Leave it."

"I don't know If he'll get along with Jason." Tim commented. Bruce attempted to imagine how that would go. They were sure to clash. Or on the flip side, they're both impulsive, who knows, maybe they would find common ground?

Jason came home, entering the main gates to the front backyard. He spotted a kid in the front lawn swinging a sword around wildly. Jason blinked once, incase he was imagining things. Damian jumped in the air and trimmed the bushes in a clean fashion. He was engrossed in his own world and didn't noticed Jason walk by with a whistle.

"Damn some moves~" Jason praised.

"Che. Another stray." The kid mumbled.

"Hey kid, you lost?" The elder stepped over, hands in his pockets.

"It appears you're the one lost. Are you another servant?"

"Huh? Hey punk you lookin' for an ass-whooping?" Jason forced a smile but the veins on his forehead were twitching. He wasn't about to take some crap from a punky kid.

Damian glared back with challenge. "Bring it on."

"As much as I'd love to play with ya, I don't bully—" However before the elder could finish, Damian charged at him with a full sword. Jason was forced to somersault backwards.

"On second thought, someone needs to teach you a lesson."

As they danced back and forth, Damians sword made contact with Jason's arm once, cutting the fabric and grazing the skin underneath. Jason didn't let the cut faze him at all and with the street tricks he learned he quickly threw the kid to the ground and held him there. Damian was no quitter either and would struggle until he was free. Before he could attack Jason again, Alfred stopped them and brought both of them inside.

"I would've put you out of your misery if it wasn't for Pennyworth." Damian made himself clear.

"The fxck? How old are you again? Someone needs to spank this kid!" Jason scowled.

The others heard the commotion enter the house and looked over at them. "Jay don't let him rile you, he's just a kid." Dick sighed from the couch.

"What's with the commotion? Bruce entered the living room while Alfred was disinfecting Jason's arm on one of the other sofas. Meanwhile Damian was standing somewhere away, arms crossed. The billionaire instantly saw Jason's arm. "Were you in a fight? What happened?" He urgently inquired.

"it's 'cause of your runt over there. I can't believe it—is he actually your real son?" By the time it took Bruce to enter the living room, Dick had filled Jason on the imperative part. "Where was he raised? In a jungle?"

"Damian, you did this?" Bruce's tone was suddenly colder.

"He had it coming." Damian replied fearlessly and his father did not look happy at all. The elder's eyes were as cold as stone as he stared down at his son. Damian internally shuddered once.

"Damian." Bruced called out in a stern voice. "I need to have a word with you in the cave. However, first you're going to apologize to Jason."

"What?" Damian's face scrunched in disapproval.

"Right now." His father practically ordered. Damian's pride made him hesitate. "Damian."

"It's just a cut Bruce, don't worry I gave him a beating too." Jason didn't feel sorry for the kid but didn't consider it as such a big deal.

"No. He needs to learn there will be consequences for his actions, and if he wants to live here he'll need to learn how to cohabitate, like a family."

Damian didn't like the fact that his own father wasn't taking his side. "Fine, I might've gotten carried away—I'll hold back in the future."

Jason was thinking how that wasn't really an apology, but he'd let it slide for right now because Bruce already looked like he was going to strangle someone with looks alone. Jason didn't know why he was going easy on the kid, but at the same time Damian's combative gaze and hardy demeanor reminded him of his past self. The teen decided to distract his partner. He stood up and playfully brushed his shoulders against the elders.

"Yo, big guy, looks can kill—or at least your's can." Jay teased.

"Is it deep?" Bruce asked Alfred.

"Not very." The butler responded.

"I'll see you later." Bruce quickly acknowledged Jason in the process of looking back at Damian. "You, with me." And with that he led the way to the cave. Damian dragged his feet behind the other, ignoring the teen.

'Well I tried.' Jason's shoulders slumped. 'I guess sometime you need a father's discipline.'

"Sassy little thing huh?" Jason joined Dick on the couch after they left.

"You don't know the half of it. Why is that kid so troubled? It's like they really did pull him out of the jungle."

"Isn't it obvious? I'm betting he lived one hell of a life before this. Just look at that freakin' katana he's carrying like he's about to shop someone's head off." Jason presumed.

"He just might …" Dick feared. "But cut him some slack."

"Yeah, yeah, you don't have to tell me. I'm not some kid anymore."

"Yo." Jason stood arms crossed against the door frame of Bruce's bedroom while the elder was in the middle of undoing his tie. "You have a minute?"

"Jason. Come in."

The teen obliged and shut the door behind him. "Who's the mom? When did this happen? Was it that Talia woman?" The questions impatiently ran off his tongue.

"Yes. Allegedly."

'He's ten, so this happened a long time ago…' Jason figured the rest out on his own. "I knew it. She looked so suspicious and a little too confident that time. What a liar!" Jason was pissed for Bruce's sake who was way too calm.

"That cant be undone now."

"Che. Yea I know. At least you have a real son now. Do you plan to train him?" Jason was forced to let the former matter go as well.

"He wants to be Robin."

"What, really?" Jason was taken aback by that for some reason. "What do you think? I guess you still need a partner since I'm no good. Or more like 'not allowed'." Yes, he was still holding that over Bruce. He was exaggerating, of course he was free to patrol but there were still limitations.

Bruce chose to ignore the last remark. "He's no where near ready to be Robin. He has the skills but he's too fixated on vengeance. Furthermore, he shares the same violent, impulsive streak as you. He has a lot to learn."

The ravenette let out a chuckle. "Oh wow, am I being replaced now?"

To Be Continued…

Our last piece of the puzzle, Damian is here lol. He'll help speed/spice things up haha or just make things more dramatic lmao. Well either way, we're here for it. Looks like BruJay and WallyDick are getting somewhere, at least we're past the confessions and stuff. I need to somehow figure out how to force ConnerTim lol, those two are on opposite ends of the spectrum sometimes.

Anyways my wrist is starting to hurt or else I'd keep going. Maybe I can post another chapter soon… but thanks for reading!
