"She said what?" Summer stared at Kyle, in disbelief.

"I couldn't believe what I was hearing," Kyle said, "Just when things were going so well, she pulls a stunt like this."

"She can't do this," Summer said, "Can she?"

"I don't even know what Rachel wants," Kyle said, "To keep you away from Diana, or to keep you and me apart."

"Knowing her, it's probably both," Summer said.

"You don't have to worry, I won't let Rachel get away with this," Kyle said.

"But what if she does get full custody?" Summer said, "It could happen."

"Then I will petition the court, to reverse their decision, until I have Diana with me," Kyle said.

"Do you really want your relationship with your daughter to be a court battle for what could be years?" Summer said.

"What are you suggesting?" Kyle said.

"I know how much you love your daughter," Summer said, "So, maybe I should take a step back."

"No," Kyle said, shaking his head. Taking her hands, Kyle said, "We are in this together. I am not going to let Rachel bully you out of my life, or continue to use Diana to do it."

"I don't want to be the reason you lose your daughter," Summer said.

"My soon to be ex-wife cannot dictate, who is in my life," Kyle said, "Rachel is in the wrong here and I am sure a judge would see it that way. You and Diana is what I want and I will do whatever it takes to make that a reality."

"Is that fair?" Summer said.

"Nothing about this is fair," Kyle said.

"No, but you are threatening to do to Rachel, the exact thing she wants to do to you, which is to take Diana away from one of you," Summer said, "Someone is going to be hurt here and the other will have to deal with that."

"I did not want it to come to this, but she left me no choice," Kyle said, "I will not let her run interference in my life."

Kyle and Rachel were both distracted when the sight of Rachel appeared in the back entranceway of the living room.

"The back door was open," Rachel said. Kyle and Summer were staring at Rachel with displeasure. "I suppose I don't have to ask what you are talking about."

"Why are you back here?" Kyle said.

"I came to get Diana," Rachel said.

"And I told you, I would bring her over later," Kyle said.

"I thought I would facilitate things," Rachel said.

"Facilitate," Kyle scoffed, "Yeah, you're making things really easy."

"If she's still asleep, she needs to wake up soon," Rachel said.

"I will check on her in a little bit and let you know, when she's ready to come over," Kyle said.

"Why is Diana going with Rachel?" Summer said.

"Because I told her, she could have her," Kyle said, "That was before she threw this ridiculous stipulation at me!"

"She, is still in the room," Rachel said.

"That's another thing," Kyle said, "You shouldn't just waltz in and out of this house, whenever you feel like it."

"My daughter is in this house," Rachel said.

"You don't live here," Summer said, "Use the front door like any other guest."

"I am Mrs. Abbott, I will come over if it involves my daughter," Rachel said.

"You won't be the missus, much longer," Summer said, "But you will relish lording the title over all us, until the last minute."

"Maybe I will keep the name," Rachel said.

"My gosh, you will do anything to cause trouble," Kyle said.

"Are you saying you don't want me to keep your name?" Rachel said, "Is that going to be detailed in the divorce settlement?"

"I really don't want to argue with you anymore today," Kyle said, "You're exhausting."

"You used to like that about me," Rachel said.

"Oh wow," Summer sighed, "Maybe you ought to start living in the present."

"I'll bet he thinks about me, when he's in bed with you," Rachel said.

"I…" Kyle croaked, staring at Rachel in disbelief.

"Well, we know what goes on in your head, when you're in bed," Summer retorted, "Alone."

"Give it time, you will be alone sooner than you think," Rachel said.

"Now the truth is coming out," Summer said, "All you really want is Kyle back in your bed."

"Ladies…" Kyle sighed.

"You know, Summer you are just rebounding onto Kyle, from Fen," Rachel said, "This thing between you won't last."

"You don't know anything about my relationship with Fen," Summer said, "I'm surprised you haven't chosen him as your next young conquest."

"I'll leave that for you," Rachel said.

"Is there a reason you can't find someone your own age?" Summer said.

"At least I can offer Kyle a mature relationship," Rachel said, "Our age is not as big a difference as you think."

"Would you both please stop?" Kyle said, "I think we've all said enough. Rachel, if you can be more patient, I will bring Diana by later."

"You know, Kyle, why don't you go check on her now?" Summer said, "She should be awake soon. I think it's time Rachel and I have a talk."

Kyle looked from Rachel to Summer, who nodded. "Okay," Kyle said, "I will have Diana with me when I come back, so I don't want to see any bloodshed."

Kyle cautiously watched Rachel and Summer, standing in a face off as he ascended the stairs.

Adam impatiently checked his watch, as he stood by the benches, in Chancellor Park. Appearing around the corner, Sharon said, "I got your message. Why did you want to meet here?"

"I didn't want to be disturbed, while we talk," Adam said.

"Well, you have me intrigued," Sharon said, "What did you find out?"

"I know who Evelyn Perkins, really is," Adam said.

"Don't keep me in suspense," Sharon said.

"When you told me Evelyn, talked to you about Fairview, it got me thinking," Adam said, "Sharon, who do we know, from Fairview, that is aware of what you went through. Who knows you were not really pregnant and given another woman's child?"

"It can't be Dr. Anderson, she's gone," Sharon said.

"Not the doctor, but a fellow patient," Adam said, "Someone who wants Jack and had nefarious dealings with both of us."

Sharon thought for a moment and then realization came into her eyes. "No…" Sharon said, "You don't think…Patty?"

Nodding, Adam said, "I think Evelyn Perkins, is Patty Williams."

"Oh, no," Sharon said, "I thought she was arrested."

"She was granted a release," Adam said, "She has probably been planning this for a long time. I have to admit, to look like Diane Jenkins, it's a clever disguise."

"But she looks so much like her," Sharon said.

"Make-up can do wonders," Adam said, "Maybe she had more plastic surgery, it wouldn't be the first time."

"The lengths that woman will go to," Sharon said, "I thought she was out of our lives."

"So did I," Adam said.

"Can we go to the police?" Sharon said, "Have her arrested again?"

"So far, she hasn't committed a crime," Adam said, "I doubt the chief would believe me, if I brought my theory to him."

"We have to tell Jack," Sharon said, "We have to warn him!"

"All in due time," Adam said, "I don't think she will hurt Jack, as long as she thinks that she is still fooling people."

"I see that look, in your eye," Sharon said, "You have a plan."

"I think it's time we put Evelyn Perkins to rest ," Adam said.

"What do you mean by that?" Sharon said.

Adam smiled at her.

"Thank you," Patty said, as a waiter served her lunch at Crimson Lights. In her usual disguise as Evelyn, Patty hummed to herself in contentment.

"Someone sounds happy," a voice said beside her.

Startled Patty looked up and smiled. "Paul," she said, before correcting herself, "Chief Williams."

"Paul is fine," he said.

"What were you saying just now?" Patty said.

"You sound in high spirits," Paul said, "That tune you were humming is familiar to me. Someone I know, used to hum that a lot."

"Small world," Patty said, "Would you like to join me?"

"I have some time," Paul said, taking a seat across from her, "Thank you."

Taking a taste of her lunch, Patty said, "They have such delicious food here."

"Yes, I always enjoy their selections," Paul said.

"So, tell me Paul," Patty said, "Do you enjoy your work with the police force? It must be terribly exciting."

"It can be," Paul said, "While it has it's satisfying moments, it can also be hazardous at times."

"When you say satisfying," Patty said, "Is an example of that, rescuing cats from trees?"

Noticing Paul looking at her quizzically, she laughed, causing Paul to do the same. "That's more a job for the fire department," Paul said.

"Oh, of course," Patty said, "How silly of me. I just hate think of the poor little kitties in distress."

"You like cats?" Paul said.

"I adore them," Patty said, "Sometimes, I think they are better companions than people."

"Nothing wrong with pets," Paul said, "But you need people in your life you can count on."

"Like a sibling?" Patty said.

"A good choice," Paul said, "Do you have any?"

Patty paused, before saying, "I have a few brothers."

"Are you close with them?" Paul said.

"I used to be with one in particular," Patty said, "But we drifted."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Paul said, "Maybe you can reconnect one day."

"I would like that very much," Patty said.

"With the holidays fast approaching, maybe you could reach out," Paul said.

"Maybe I will," Patty sat, smiling at him.

"Did I say something wrong?" Paul said.

"No, you said all the right things," Patty said, "You always give me such good advice." She turned her attention back to her lunch, until she noticed Paul was silent watching her.

"Do I have food on my face?" Patty said.

"It's just the way you said that," Paul said, "I don't recall giving you advice in the past."

"Must be my mistake," Patty said

Paul paused, before saying, "It occurs to me, how very little I know about you."

"Are you interrogating me Chief?" Patty said, putting on a mock voice of authority. Forgetting herself, she laughed one of her distinctive giggles.

"I'm seeing a lot of uncanny familiarities," Paul said, "And that laugh…"

"You're starting to suspect it aren't you?" Patty said, excitement coming into her eyes.

"What's that?" Paul said.

"You know," Patty said.

"Why don't you tell me," Paul said.

"Pauly," Patty smiled, unable to contain herself, "It's me."

Paul stared at her, shock in his eyes, "Patty?"

"So," Rachel said, situating herself in a chair and crossing her legs, "What insults do you have prepared for me this afternoon?" She gestured for Summer to continue.

"Why do you always get defensive with me?" Summer said.

"Because I know you are just waiting to get another disrespectful remark off your chest," Rachel said.

"Perhaps if you treated other people with more tolerance, it would be…" Summer stopped herself.

"Go ahead," Rachel said, "I can't wait to hear the rest of the etiquette lesson."

"I would just like to have a normal conversation with you," Summer said.

"About what?" Rachel said.

"Kyle," Summer said, "And Diana."

"I am not discussing my daughter with you," Rachel said.

"There's the problem," Summer said, "You seem to think I have some devious plot, where Kyle's child is concerned."

"That's my child too," Rachel said, "And I don't trust you."

"Why?" Summer said, "What have I done to make you think, I wouldn't take good care that little girl? Yes, you and I do not get along, but maybe for Diana's sake we could try."

"I get it," Rachel said, "You're going to try and get me to drop my full custody suit."

"Yes," Summer said, "You are putting Kyle through undue stress, which could ripple into stress for Diana if she picks up on it. I don't like to see him this way and if your care about Kyle as much as you say you do, then why are you trying to hurt him like this?"

"Kyle put you up to this, didn't he?" Rachel said.

"No, he would never ask me to fight his battles for him," Summer said, "You know that's not how he operates."

"Kyle is a big boy, he will get over it," Rachel said.

"It's not a cold, that he will eventually get rid of," Summer said, "Kyle adores Diana and he's an incredible father to her. Diana loves him back and I would hate to see you tear that bond apart. Please don't deprive your daughter of a father, that means the world to her, because of your disputes with me."

"I agree that Kyle is an exceptional father," Rachel said.

"It's me you have an issue with," Summer said, "Is it that you don't approve of me, or that you are jealous?"

"Of you?" Rachel grunted.

"I understand if you are," Summer said, "I was in your position. When you were happily married to Kyle, I was jealous of what you had with him. I can see how you might be feeling a little envious. I also believe you are not over Kyle, which I can also understand. He is such an amazing person and he wants to be friends with you, to maintain a close relationship."

"I really wish things could go back the way they were," Rachel said.

"I know," Summer said, "But Kyle is right next door and only a phone call away. If you or Diana ever need anything, he will be right there, no matter what. Because of your bond with the baby you will see him all the time."

"I guess…" Rachel started, "Losing my other daughter before, I am afraid of losing Diana, if she thinks you are her mother."

"That will never happen," Summer said, "You are the child's mother. I always refer to you as such, when I am with Diana. Kyle does the same thing. I am Summer, daddy's friend who helps to raise her. I love that little girl and I can see she loves me back. What is so wrong with having another person in her life, to share that mutual love with?"

"You make a lot of good points," Rachel said.

"Can we try to be civil?" Summer said, "I know you don't want our friction, to rub off on Diana. Kyle would like it too, if we were friends."

"We will never be besties," Rachel said, "But I would be willing to try."

"I will try too," Summer said, "Does this mean you are willing to drop the custody suit?"

"You have given me a lot to think about," Rachel said.

"Maybe if we all spent some time together and you could see my interaction with Diana," Summer said, "If Kyle trusts me with her, that should tell you something."

The sound of approaching footsteps on the stairs, revealed Kyle entering the living room. Observing, Summer and Rachel sitting calmly across from each other, Kyle said, "Okay, no visible carnage, that's good."

"Rachel and I have come to an understanding," Summer said.

"Yes, we have decided to have minimal conflict with each other," Rachel said.

"We might even omit fights all together," Summer said.

"You two are scaring me," Kyle said.

"It's all good," Summer said.

"Where's Diana?" Rachel said.

"Well, I got her up and changed her, but she was still really sleepy so I put her back down for a while longer," Kyle said, "I hope that's okay with you."

"If she needs the sleep, I can wait," Rachel said.

"So, does this new amicable outlook, change your mind about our custody issue?" Kyle said.

"I don't want to take Diana away from you," Rachel said, "And I don't want her taken away from me. Therefore…I will agree to you and I having joint custody."

Kyle smiled, before saying, "And Summer?"

"If you choose to spend your time with Summer and Diana, I will not object," Rachel said.

"The two of you must have had some talk," Kyle said.

"We will never tell," Rachel said.

"Nope," Summer agreed.

"Whatever the reason, I am glad we have a new understanding," Kyle said, "Thank you, Rachel."

"I second that," Summer said, "And on that note…" Summer trailed off as the front door opened.

All three of them looked up when Jack entered the house. "Hello all," Jack said, "Am I interrupting?"

"No," Summer said, "I was just going to suggest we have some lunch."

"Would you join us, Dad?" Kyle said.

"I could use some home cooked food," Jack said.

"I will ask Mrs. Martinez to fix something," Kyle said.

"Will my granddaughter be joining us?" Jack said.

"She is getting some beauty rest," Kyle said, "She's an accomplished sleeper, like her mother."

Rachel looked at Kyle and joked, "At least she doesn't snore, like her father."

"I don't," Kyle said.

"Yes, you do," Jack, Summer and Rachel all said, at the same time.

"Maybe just a little," Kyle said.

"A bit more than a little," Rachel said.

"Let's change the topic," Kyle said, smiling at Rachel.

Summer the saw the excitement in Rachel's eyes, at having Kyle's attention.

"Patty?" Paul said, incredulously, "What's going on?"

"It's me," Patty smiled. Spreading her arms apart, she said, "What do you think of my new look?"

"What do you think you are doing?" Paul said.

"I thought you would be happy to see me," Patty said.

"I am," Paul said, "I'm glad to know you are alright. However, what's with the look?"

"It's the new me," Patty said, "Do you like it?"

"Patty, you look exactly like Diane Jenkins," Paul said.

"I know," Patty said, "Isn't it wild? Do you know how many people have been so surprised to see Diane's look-a-like?"

"Why are you doing this?" Paul said.

"I did a lot of thinking," Patty said, "How to get what I want in life."

"And what is it you want?" Paul said.

"Well, Jack's love of course," Patty said, "He was very enamored with Diane. So you see, I thought I would give him back what he lost. A little nip here and tuck there, makeup, tons of research on the former Miss Jenkins, a new name and voila, Jack is falling for me."

"Patty, this is not right," Paul said, "Jack thinks you are Evelyn. What happens when he finds out?"

"By then he will be so in love with me, it won't matter," Patty said.

"Yes, it will," Paul said, "You are lying to the man."

"He won't see it that way," Patty said, "My Jack will understand, I went to such lengths, because I love him."

"This isn't love," Paul said, "It's obsession and it has to stop."

"I finally have everything I want," Patty said, "Can't you be happy for me?"

"You're not thinking clearly," Paul said, "Why don't you come with me?'

"Where?" Patty said.

"Somewhere, we can talk privately," Paul said.

"No," Patty said, "You want to send me back. I won't go."

"I just want to talk," Paul said.

"You think I'm making this up," Patty said, "But Pauly, this is real, Jack and I are in love. Please don't take that away from me."

"I want you to have your happiness," Paul said, "But this is not the way to get it. You have to see that. You trust me, right?"

Patty nodded. "Then please come with me," Paul said.

"I would like to use the ladies room first," Patty said, standing up.

"Alright I will wait right here for you," Paul said, as Patty walked towards the washroom.

After a minute, Paul's phone indicated a call. Checking the display, he quickly answered, "Chief Williams…"

Peeking out from the washroom, Patty observed Paul immersed in his phone call. She cautiously stepped out and scurried to the exit.

"Very good, I want the team to stay on it and let me know of any further developments. Good work," Paul concluded his call, turning around to find Patty rushing down the pathway. "Oh, no," Paul sighed, running after her.

Catching sight of her outside, hailing a taxi, Paul called, "Patty, wait!"

Patty jumped into the taxi, urging the driver to go, pulling away, as Paul reached the curb.

"It was the cutest and funniest thing, I've ever seen her do," Kyle said, as he sat in the living room, with Jack, Summer and Rachel. Jack smiled at the sight of Kyle, reveling in fatherhood, telling stories about his daughter.

At the sound of the doorbell, Jack stood to respond. Opening the door he was surprised to reveal Adam and Sharon.

"This is a surprise," Jack said.

"Jack," Adam said, "Just the person we wanted to see."

Stepping aside to let them in, Jack said, "Alright, you've peaked my curiosity."

"We have something incredible to tell you," Sharon said.

"Should we leave you alone?" Kyle said.

"You probably want to hear this too," Adam said.

"What's this about?" Jack said.

"You may find what, I'm about to say, hard to believe," Adam started, "And I am sorry to be the bearer of this kind of news…" Adam was cutoff at the sound of the doorbell.

Answering the door again, Jack smiled and said, "Evelyn."

Adam and Sharon shared a look, as Patty rushed into Jack's arms. "Oh, Jack," she whimpered, "I'm so glad you're home."

"Is something wrong?" Jack said, "You're trembling."

"I need to talk to you about…" Patty stopped when she saw five other people standing in the living room. "I didn't realize you had company," she said.

"You know, Kyle and Summer," Jack said, "This is Rachel." Continuing introductions, Jack gestured to Adam and Sharon saying, "This is…"

"I know who they are," Patty said, "What are they doing here?"

"We're friends we visit," Adam said.

"What are you doing here?" Sharon said.

"None of your business," Patty said.

"Am I missing something here?" Jack said.

"I prefer to talk to you alone," Patty said.

"Jack, I have something really urgent to discuss," Adam said.

"It can't wait?" Jack said.

"It's very important," Sharon said.

"We considered going to the chief of police, but felt you had a right to know first," Adam said, "On the other hand, perhaps Evelyn would like to tell you."

"I haven't the slightest idea what you are talking about," Patty said.

"How about the truth?" Sharon said.

"What is going on here?" Jack said, "Why are you harassing Evelyn?"

"Her name isn't Evelyn," Adam said, looking her in the eye, "Is it?"

"Don't be ridiculous, of course that's my name," Patty said, "Jack, he's making up lies. I want him out of here."

"You're the one lying," Sharon said, "We know who you really are."

"Jack, make them stop," Patty panicked.

"There is no Evelyn Perkins," Adam said, "She doesn't exist. There is however, a Patty Williams."

"We know that's who you really are," Sharon said.

Jack and Kyle stared wide eyed at Patty. "Is that true?" Kyle demanded.

"Of course it's not true," Jack said, "Evelyn, tell them."

"Where's your proof, I'm not Evelyn," Patty said.

"It's standing right in front of us," Sharon said.

"You are a vile and hateful woman," Patty snarled, to Sharon.

"There's the Patty we all know," Adam said.

Patty advanced towards Sharon saying, "How dare you come here, to Jack's home, spewing lies and trying to upset my Jack."

Patty flew at Sharon and they began to scuffle. Adam and Jack were about to break up the fight, when Sharon, pulled at Patty's hair, ending up with the wig in her hand. Sharon's mouth dropped open and everyone stared, as Patty was left standing with her hair net on.

Patty broke into a sinister smile and laughed. "Alright," she said, pulling her hair net off, "You got me."

"I knew it," Adam said.

Patty wandered around the room and began clapping. "Good for you. You found Patty Williams!"

Sensing danger, Summer moved closer to Kyle.

"Patty?" Jack said, "What have you done?"

"I did this all for you Jack," Patty said, "Once you've had a chance to think about this, you will see how wonderful we are together."

"You have got to be kidding," Kyle said, "I knew you were bad news. Get away from my father."

"And you, tried to thwart me at every turn," Patty said, "All I did was try to emulate your dear departed mother."

"Don't you ever mention her to me again," Kyle said.

"How could you do this to me?" Jack said.

"Oh, Jack, I did this for you," Patty said.

"You made me fall in love with a woman who didn't exist," Jack said.

"What you did was very cruel," Sharon said.

"All that matters is that we love each other," Patty said, "I can be Evelyn, or Diane, or whoever you want me to be, that will make you happy."

"I want you to leave," Jack said.

"What…?" Patty said, shaking her head.

"Don't ever bother me, or my family again, is that understood?" Jack said.

"You don't mean that!" Patty said.

"Oh yes, I do," Jack said, opening the door, surprised to see Paul walking down the pathway.

Appearing in the doorway, Paul saw his sister and said, "Oh, Patty. I had a feeling you would come here."

"We were just explaining to Patty, that she's not welcome here," Kyle said.

"I understand," Paul said, "Come on sweetie, it's time to go with me."

"No!" Patty cried, running across the room, "Jack, don't let him take me!"

"You need to go with your brother," Adam said.

"He's going to lock me up again!" Patty said, "Well, I won't let you!"

In an instant, Patty grabbed Rachel and pulled a gun out of her pocket, holding it to the neck of her hostage.

Adam moved Sharon, behind him, while Kyle did the same with Summer. However, Kyle's focus was Rachel and the danger she was facing.

Rachel began to tremble, as Paul said, "Patty, don't do this. You won't solve anything by hurting people."

"I won't let you put me away!" Patty said, "Do you hear me? You come any closer and I will shoot this pretty young lady."

Rachel began to cry, prompting Kyle to speak up. "Patty?" Kyle said, "Please, don't hurt her. Just let her go."

"I'm in charge pretty boy," Patty said.

"Yes, you are," Kyle said, "If you want a hostage, take me and let her go."

"Do you think I'm that stupid?" Patty said.

"No one thinks that," Kyle said.

"You know, I could never hold you," Patty said, "No, she stays with me."

"Put the gun down," Jack said, "Patty, if you hurt someone I care about, you will break my heart and there will be no chance for us."

"You could love me," Patty said, "I know it."

"Yes, I could," Jack said, "But only if you let her go."

"Your lying," Patty cried, "Stop lying to me!"

"Don't make matters worse than they already are," Paul said, "Things will be much easier if you…"

Paul was cut off by the sound of a baby crying on the monitor. Kyle sharply looked towards the monitor and then back at Rachel.

"What is that sound?" Patty said.

Kyle was about to speak, when Patty said, "Is that a cat?"

"Actually…" Kyle began.

"Yes, it is a cat," Adam interjected, "I hear it too."

Adam nodded at Kyle to play along, who said, "Yes, I think you're right, it is a cat."

"Where is it?" Patty said, her eyes scanning the room.

"You know, I think I see it," Adam said, peering low to the ground.

Patty lowered her gun, to view the area Adam was pointing at. "Where?" she said.

"It's in the corner," Adam said, walking towards her. Forgetting her hostage, Patty followed Adam's gaze saying, "Here kitty…"

Rachel flew into Kyle's arms, breaking down in tears, as he held her tight.

"Kitty?" Patty said, "Where did you go?"

"She's in the flowers there," Adam said. Patty was so intent on her search, that Adam was easily able to take the gun out of her hand.

Everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief, as Adam handed the weapon to Paul. "Turn off the monitor," Paul said.

Sharon pushed the off switch and Patty, looked around, "Where's Kitty?" she said.

"Patty, there was no cat," Paul said.

"But I heard it, she was crying," Patty said.

"What you heard was a baby on the monitor," Paul said. Sharon held up the monitor so Patty could see.

"But…" Patty said. Realizing she lost her gun and her hostage, she focused on Adam, yelling, "You tricked me!"

"I'm sorry, Patty," Adam said.

As Kyle still held a tearful Rachel in his arms, Summer said, "Do you want me to go check Diana?"

"Could you please?" Kyle said.

"Of course," Summer said. Summer surveyed Kyle, soothing Rachel, talking softly to her and rubbing her back, before hurrying upstairs.

"Come on Patty," Paul said, it's time to go."

Patty was forming tears as she said, "Please Paul, no more doctors. I'm sorry for what I did." Looking across at Rachel, she said, "Miss I'm sorry. Jack, I apologize."

"You should go," Jack said.

"I'm going to take care of you," Paul said, starting to lead Patty away. She held back in the doorway, saying, "Jack, I will love you forever. When you're ready, I will be waiting."

"Goodbye Patty," Jack said.

"I hope you are not upset with us for setting this into motion," Adam said.

"You were looking out for me, I appreciate it," Jack said.

Putting a hand on his shoulder, Sharon said, "Are you going to be okay?"

"Just fine," Jack said.

"If you want to talk, just call me," Sharon said.

"Thank you," Jack said. Sharon gave Jack a quick hug, before leaving with Adam.

Kyle sat Rachel on the couch and said, "I'll be back in one minute. Be right back."

As Kyle approached his father, Jack said, "How is she?"

"She's pretty shaken up," Kyle said, "How about you? How are you holding up?"

"I will be okay," Jack said, "Hey, it's lucky I discovered her deception now instead of later. I should have listened to the warnings of my son."

"I'm sorry, I was right," Kyle said.

Nodding his head to Rachel, Jack said, "Someone over there needs you. I think a visit with my granddaughter might cheer me up."

"Summer is upstairs with her," Kyle said.

Jack proceeded to walk away, when Kyle called him back. "Hey, I love you, Dad." They shared a warm hug, as Jack said, "I love you too."

Walking to Rachel and putting an arm around her, Kyle said, "How are you feeling?"

"I've never been so scared," Rachel said.

"I know, I was scared for you too," Kyle said.

"It just brought it all back," Rachel said, "Now, I know how scared my sister must have been. I thought this is it, I'm going to go the same way." Her tears flowed, with Kyle pulling her in close.

"You're okay," Kyle said, "It's over and I'm going to keep you safe."

Resting her head against his chest, Rachel said, "I'm glad you're here with me."

"I'm here for you," Kyle said, "Always." He gave her a tender kiss on the forehead.

Watching from the stairs, Summer tried to be understanding that Rachel needed, comforting. Summer still felt a sting, at the sight of Kyle, holding Rachel in his arms. Taking a deep breath, Summer crept back up the stairs, unnoticed.
