Summary: A Team is Born.
.
Note I: From now on, my DC based stories all take place in the DC Multiverse that's under the 'YoursTruly' Greater Omniverse; in order words, my GAU, SaG and any Teen Titans story that will be written will share the same DC Multiverse whose origins story takes place with the one-shot Naruto/DC story, A DC Omniverse Beginning. In other words, that version of Naruto is the linchpin to all the 'Naruto's' in the DC Multiverse within my archive, meaning that if something were to stop what happened in that story, then the versions of Naruto that exist currently will cease to exist, until the 'error' is fixed.
.
Note II: Honestly, because of the lack of popularity I thought of scrapping this all together, but I decided that I might as well update it, seeing as I'd have more freedom here than with any Teen Titans crossover I'd want to post in the future so without further adieu… enjoy your meal.
.
Now that everyone had a partner and a location as a goal, they dispersed.
Superman slowed down a bit because he was followed by Hawkgirl, but that didn't mean the two were moving slowly as it only took them a few dozen minutes till they crossed a rather significant portion of the continent to arrive at their first location and fortunately for the heroes, as the invaders took America as their first foothold, they'd arrived at their location shortly.
'Thank heavens for small mercies.'
The factory stood menacingly underneath the dark clouds as more of their smoke rose up into the air to blot out the sun.
Superman, pulling himself from his thoughts, saw the alien tripods shooting lasers into the building and almost incinerating the soldiers that were trying to keep the invaders at bay. He sped up and directly knocked it down and when he saw that they could take more than he expected, he wondered what kind of material these resilient things were made off.
Hawkgirl, meanwhile, was hammering down on the tripod trying to completely smash it into pieces; with her strength and her mace, every hit would cave in the unknown material of the alien vehicle and the ground shook from her hits. It wouldn't take long for her to turn it into scrap.
Superman, however, ignored the tripod on the ground and focused on what was more urgent: the factory thus with a simple chop, he sliced off a leg of the discarded tripod and used it as a javelin to throw it into his new target.
A hole was quickly made for them to go inside.
"Hawkgirl, follow me!" and, with the Thanagarian close on his heels, he flew into the hole he just created and kept moving until they'd landed on some sort of organic-looking pathways that looked more like the innards of some organism than of a factory. "Keep your sharp eye out."
Hawkgirl clenched the handle of her mace- "I always do." -and she advanced warily as the Man of Steel began to move again.
With no warning, however, a red laser blast impacted directly next to them and a group of the invaders, following this, found the pair of heroes and proceeded to fire their own weapons at them.
Superman jumped in front of Hawkgirl to shield her- "Get behind me, I'll-" -however, as he was about to counterattack, a yell from behind him caused him to see the winged woman as she flew over and at the targets.
"HAA!" and he watched as she threw herself into the middle of the group and started to swing her mace at one of the invaders, taking its head off in the process and turning to the next one (not dwelling on the life of the one she took) before smashing it into mush on the wall. Hawkgirl turned around and saw the eyes of the Man of Steel on her. "What? There is a time for words and a time for actions."
She continued to wander the halls after that statement.
Superman looked on at her in disbelief before following after her a second later.

…Chapter Two: Imperium Invasion…
.
As the duo of Hyperion and Martian Manhunter flew to the factory they were supposed to take down, the redheaded decided to spark a conversation between the two.
"So, big green, tell me about yourself." he, Hyperion, started. "I mean, aside from what you told me and the others back when we met up."
"Why?" J'ohn replied, confused, ignoring the 'Big Green' comment. "I do not understand the need for this."
"Y' mean aside from making small talk?" Hyperion responded. "I mean, what better way than keeping this too awkward? Plus I like to know a few things about people I'll be working with; for reference, how's this? My name's Hyperion, although that's my hero name, not my real name, and I can generate and control Cosmic Energy. I like my wife, spending time with her, and especially the fact that I get to keep her big fat milkers to myself. I also like gardening, chess and miso ramen; although, I hate how long it takes to prepare Ramen before I can taste its brothy goodness. Got it so far?"
"I believe so…" J'ohn replied, finding a few things with the statement his new friend gave rather odd. "And while I wish to respond in kind, I believe now is not the best time."
"Why?" Hyperion asked and, as his nose picked up a familiar scent, he understood. "Ah, right, gotcha."
They'd arrived at their first factory.
J'ohn stared at it for a few moments with a sense of foreboding nostalgia as he and his partner hovered above the sandy floors of the desert.
"Alright, I've scanned for any possible human casualties..." He glanced to his side and saw that Hyperion, who was floating next to him, had his right hand raised, aimed its index and middle finger at the building below them, and manifested an orb of pure energy as small as a pebble on the tip of said fingers. "They're none; which means I can let loose a bit. Might wanna brace yourself there, big green."
And before J'ohn could inquire as to why he would need to do that, the redhead launched the energy pebble at the tripodal walkers that were shooting lasers at them and unlike the invader's shots, which were blocked by an invisible sphere around the floating pair, Hyperion's attack - which increased in size as while soaring towards its target - wasn't quite as harmless.
*!BOOM!*
The bright explosion that followed completely erased everything it touched and took out a wall of the factory, giving the defenders access to the inside.
"And we now have a way in!" Hyperion excitedly punched an open palm. "Let's go kick some Imperium ass!"
The Martian watched as the redhead flew into the space created by his blast before following after him a second later; and watched as the redhead easily fired his energy attacks at the soldiers that would come their way, mentally wishing that his people had someone like him on their side when the Imperium attacked Mars because he not only could see how formidable his new ally was, from the low level psionics he could sense, and from the way the telekinetic side of his psionic abilities were used to hold the familiar organic-like wall open as they moved through the halls, he could also tell that the redhead would've been the perfect counter against the forces of the invading Imperium.
Now wasn't the time to think about the what-if's, however, as at the moment, he and said ally were in the middle of trying to stop an invasion.
"We need to disable the Central Core." J'ohn stated as he walks up to the redhead as he took out another flurry of soldiers that they came across. "I know the way; once we do that, the base will-"
"Will what?" Hyperion asked, noting the sudden pause in speech; hearing no answer, though, he blinked and then turned to look at his new ally, hoping nothing was wrong, but when he did, he saw that (a), the Martian was standing as still as a sone statue, and that (b), his eyes were ominously glowing red. Walking up to the frozen Martian, the redhead wore a look of concern, waved his hands in front of the frozen features and snapped his fingers. "J'ohn? Hey J'ohn? You're scaring me buddy; you okay?"
"No." J'ohn's eyes regained their normal look as he spoke to the redhead. "Superman and Hawkgirl are down; they have failed."
Hyperion blinks at that. "Come again?" he states in reply.
"They were taken out and captured by the Imperium." the last Son of Mars clarified. "If we are to succeed in our mission, then we must destroy this base and save them; we need to go to the Central Core, now."
"Or I could just blow it up with an explosion bigger than what I used before." Hyperion suggested. "I mean, if taking this place down completely is what we're going for; that'll be easy for me."
"The explosion that would cause on a wide scale is unpredictable, so while I would love to see the Imperium taken out, it will not be at the expense of a nearby population." J'ohn stated to the redhead. "We must disable the core and take it out. Then we can destroy the base."
Hyperion pouted- "You're no fun." -however, he flew after J'ohn as the Martian led the way until they eventually came across their target.
The Core.
However, as this was a vital component of the base, this was also the most guarded area.
Hyperion made quick work of the guards.
With the last invader evaporating into dust as it let out an ungodly shriek of pain, the redhead looked at the Martian who was dismantling the core from its connections with ease and flew up to the not-invading alien.
"All done?" He asked. "I can blow this place up now?"
"Yes, you can." Martian Manhunter replied as he plucked the core from its resting place. "Although I do not understand this eagerness of yours to blow things up."
"It's fun, doi." Hyperion rolled his eyes. He grinned. "Looks like that's another thing you know about me, big green."
Seconds later, and mirroring the position they took prior to attacking the base, the duo hovered in the air and looked down at the now empty base.
Hyperion raised his right palm, and aimed it at the now empty base.
"This explosion's gonna be bigger than the last one-" the redhead warned as a blue sphere of spiral energy, with a hint of silver, wisped into life. "So… yeah; you're gonna have to brace yourself again, bud."
And shortly after that was said, and as the Martian heeded the warning, a mental shout of 'Spiral Bomb!' the energy sphere was launched at its target.
*!BOOM!*
Nothing was left in the aftermath but a large crater.
The silence that encased the two was broken by Hyperion.
"That was fun!" the redhead grinned. "We should hang out more."
And with that, they left the area.
.
Prior to the destruction of J'ohn and Hyperion's base, meanwhile, and surrounded by the invaders, the Dark Knight of Gotham was forced to think quickly; and fortunately for him, the design of the factory made finding the energy source that was powering it clear and easy was so without hesitating, he threw out a Batarang and watched as it cut through the air but he frowned as, before it could reach the core, it was stopped by an invader.
Luckily it wasn't a normal Batarang.
*!BOOM!*
And the explosion that instantly enveloped the invader, along with the core, caused a chain reaction but Batman knew that it wouldn't prevent the invaders from killing them so he never let his guard drop.
"Diana on your right!"
He turned to the familiar voice and saw as a shot fired by one the invaders almost arrived at the back of Wonder Woman's head when; thankfully, J'ohn appeared, pushed her out of the way and tanked the shot instead of Diana.
However…
"J'ohn!"
…from what he deduced, it seems that the weapons used were almost tailored for Martian Physiology because immediately as he was hit, the Martian screamed in his pain, and fell on his knees; not wanting to lose their chance at winning this war, though, the Dark Knight of Gotham quickly rushed to defend his downed ally as the invaders were about to finish the job.
Before they could, the invading soldiers disintegrated on the spot.
"Not today, creeps!" and the culprit was none other than Hyperion; the red headed male appeared after J'ohn and launched a barrage of energy blasts at the invading soldiers that were attacking them. He landed next to them when they were in the clear. "Big Green… is he okay?"
"Does he look okay?" Batman growled, kneeling next to the groaning Martian while a concerned looking Diana - returning from taking out the stray soldiers of the invading forces - knelt next to them. "We need to get him out now!"
"Got it." Hyperion nodded. "You'll have to get him out of here and regroup with Green Lantern and Flash while Wonder Woman and I'll cover you; we've already lost both Superman and HawkGirl to these Bozos. We can't run the risk of losing anyone else, especially if it's someone who knows more about the enemy than we do."
"Wait," Wonder Woman grabbed the shoulder of the redhead. "You mean, Superman and HawkGirl are…"
"Well," Hyperion motioned to the Martian. "That's what J'ohn says, at least."
"Superman is one of the strongest people on the planet, and I've seen HawkGirl manage to hold her own pretty well, and you're telling me that these guys beat them both?" the eyes of Batman narrowed at the redhead. "Something tells me that you don't believe him; your body language gives it away."
"As much as I'd like to elaborate on that, Bats, I doubt now's the time for twenty questions..." Hyperion deadpanned, before he picked up on the arriving remaining soldiers, turned away from the Caped Crusader of Gotham, and then settled into a fighting stance. "You should really get him to safety."
"He's right." Wonder Woman took a fighting stance next to Hyperion as weapons were aimed at them; the redhead erected a shield of energy around the group as they were being shot at from all angles. "We can't afford to lose any more than we already have. Go: we'll hold them off."
"Actually, you're gonna have to help Batman defend J'ohn as he leaves." Hyperion states, much to the chagrin of the Amazonian female. "Look, with J'ohn in the state he's in, Batman's gonna have a tough time defending both himself and the Martian from these guys. You go with him and deal with anyone you see on the way, I'll deal with the ones here."
"And leave you with these monsters?" Wonder Woman shot back. "They took down Superman and HawkGirl. I refuse to leave you alone to deal with them."
"Diana, we need to get J'ohn out of here." the Amazon glanced at Batman, who was holding the passed out J'ohn over his shoulder. "Hyperion says he can handle it, trust him."
"Don't worry about me, I'll be okay." Hyperion grinned. "Like Bats said: Trust me."
Diana stared at the redhead, took a deep breath, and looked firm.
"If this is your wish," she relents. "Then I will pray for the Gods to look favourably upon your fate."
"Um, thanks?" Hyperion grunted, focusing on reinforcing the strength of his shield as more and more laser blasts rained on it. "I doubt I'll need that though... I mean, I already atomise one of their factories without an issue. I doubt this one'll be different."
With that, Diana nods and leaves with Batman and the unconscious J'ohn.
Hyperion returned his delighted gaze to the soldiers.
"Now then," he pounded his fist into his palm. "Who's up to get their asses, or whatever your equivalent of that body part is, kicked?"
Nothing but screams of terror could be heard through out the halls.
.
Moments later, Batman and Wonder Woman, now in the clear, gently rested J'ohn's back against the wall of the roof of a building miles away from the factory.
"How is he?" the Amazonian asked. She currently stood diligently over the pair, while her partner knelt next to the Martian. "J'ohn, I mean."
"I'm not an expert in Martian Biology," the Dark Knight of Gotham deadpanned. "So I won't exactly know."
Silence encased the two as they both gazed at the unconscious Martian for a little while before they looked at each other, then turned to look at the factory they had just escaped from and left one of their allies in.
"We should be there, with him." Wonder Woman tightened her grip on the hilt of her sword. "How will I face my sisters on Themyscira with the knowledge that I abandoned a comrade in arms? I am not a coward who runs away from a fight... we should not have left him to deal with that on their own."
"From what I've seen so far, Hyperion is more than capable of taking care of himself." Batman replied firmly. "I wouldn't worry about him, especially when there are pressing matters to be focused on."
Diana was about to clap back at Batman for his callus words, however, J'ohn's groaning drew their attention away from the factory.
.
With Hyperion, meanwhile, and right after he spoke, he charged at the nearest invading soldier, stabbed a hand through its chest, and released a discharge of erratic yellow electricity that disintegrated the soldier his right hand was stabbed through.
The redhead flicked the remnant slime off his hands, eyed those looking on at him with an expression he couldn't make out due to their faceless heads, and smirked.
"One down." His eyes seemed to glint. "So, who's next?"
And what followed after was nothing short of a massacre.
Seconds later, and with no one left to stop him in his task, Hyperion easily pulled out the core of the newly empty factory.
"And that's two!" Hyperion paused as the core disappeared from his hands in a flash of yellow light. "Although, I should chug this one somewhere safe before I blow it up like I did to the one in the desert."
With that in mind, he took to the skies in flight.
.
Wonder Woman and Batman, meanwhile, helped J'ohn up.
"J'ohn," the Amazonian says, with concern filling her tone. "Thank Hera; are you alright?"
"I am fine." the said Martian in question groaned as he sat up. "However, it seems that what I was subjected to as I was a prisoner had more of a lasting effect on my body than I initially thought."
"Then you shouldn't be in this battle." Wonder Woman argued in concern for the Martian's safety. "You should rest. For all we know, one more hit like that could be the last."
"I will not rest until the imperium have been defeated." J'ohn replied. His voice got harder as he spoke. "They are a blight that have brought nothing but death and ruin to any world they visit and Earth is just the latest in a long list of worlds."
"Your resolve is impressive, J'ohn." Batman commented, "But it will mean nothing if you're alive to see it through, and that won't be the case if you charge in like you are now; you need to rest and recover your strength."
Before J'ohn could reply, a familiar voice let themselves known.
A moment later the Green Lantern flew up a building and landed next to the princess and Martian duo. Not a second later a red blur ran up the side of the building and arrived next to them too.
"Sorry we're late." It was that of the Green Lantern's. "Had to stop and save some civilians on the way."
The soldier landed next to the group and the familiar red blur of the Flash followed up after them.
"What did you call us back for?" the Scarlet Speedster asked. "I thought we were supposed to be taking out those factory things."
"We are, but Superman has been captured." Wonder Woman replied. "He's trapped somewhere with Hawkgirl."
"Wait, they got Supes?" the Flash blinked, visibly shocked. "For real? Him, and Hawkgirl too?"
"What about Hyperion?" the Earth-born Lantern asked, looking around and noticing the missing extra member. "Did they get him too?"
Before an answer could be given to that question, the attention of all was drawn to an imperium factory.
.
Hyperion, who was now outside of the factory - as he needed to be outside for this next part - meanwhile, bent his knees, dug his fingers into the ground, and picked up the obviously building in rather easy fashion.
"There." the redhead grinned. "And now, for the fun part." He took to the skies with the factory in his hands and, once he reached the upper atmosphere of the planet, he spun around, tossed the building away from him, and then cupped his hands above each other to his side while taking a stance; seconds later a spherical blue swirl of energy formed in the cupped space. "Burn."
The factory was instantly burned to ash as soon as it came in contact with the powerful beam of energy that followed.
.
The others blinked owlishly as the redhead landed with them.
"And that's two." Hyperion grinned. "Maybe you should just leave the factories to me since I seem to be doing an awesome job."
"Not bad, big guy." the Flash appeared next to Hyperion, "I mean… I could've done something way more awesome myself, but you obviously had that handled already."
"Uh-huh," the redhead rolled his eyes at the speedster. "Right. I'll believe it when I see it."
"Glad to see you're okay, kid." Green Lantern commented, hovering up to Hyperion. "With Superman and HawkGirl being captured, I got seriously worried back there. Although I doubt I needed to be in the first place, from what I just saw."
"Indeed." Wonder Woman agreed, "Batman was right to believe in your strength and capabilities. I am sorry for doubting you in the first place, Hyperion."
"Water under the bridge." Hyperion waved, before walking up to J'ohn and frowning. "I can't believe I didn't notice this before but you're looking a little weak there, big green; the hit you took must've really done a number on you."
"I will live." the Martian Manhunter replied. "But do not worry about me; we need to rescue Superman and HawkGirl first if we are to succeed against the Imperium."
"Yeah, sure." Hyperion nodded. "Just let me help you out a bit." He cupped his hands together, and in front of his chest, and to the surprise of those watching, a gold apple appeared in an energy sphere that was created in the space between his cupped hands. "Here." The redhead grabbed the apple and gave it to the Martian. "Eat this; it'll restore you to full health in an instant, no matter how messed up you are."
"A golden apple?" Green Lantern, however, raised a sceptical eyebrow. "Really?"
"Trust me, it works." Hyperion stated, "Helped me out in a couple of jams, myself."
"I have heard tales of such fruits before," Wonder Woman recalled. "However, what I am familiar with is the fruit that blesses whomever manages to consume them with immortality and a sliver of divinity; tell me, did you acquire it from the Garden of the Gordon?"
"Nah." Hyperion shook his head. "That is what gave me the inspiration for the fruits, though." he then glanced at the Martian. "You're not going to eat it? Trust me it's not poison, if that's what's concerning you."
J'ohn hesitated then, after remembering that there was a war going on that he needed to help end, he decided to take a bite out of the fruit.
His red eyes widened the second he swallowed, and felt the rush of energy.
"See? Not poison." Hyperion grinned at his friend's reaction. "'Sides, if I wanted to take you out, I'd have picked a way more direct option than poison. It's cheap; I'm not."
"If you have something like this, why keep it to yourself?" Batman asked, noting that the apple did as advertised from how the Martian looked following its consumption. "Something like this can save a lot of people, potentially cure a lot of diseases."
"The fact that it's limited and extremely difficult to grow?" Hyperion replied, raising an eyebrow at the bat. "Which would make it difficult for me to keep up with demand, considering how many people there are in the world, as opposed to how many fruits are available; plus I'd most likely stall any medicinal developments if people were to rely on the Deus Ex Machina of recovery that is my apple and considering the kind of society we live in, is that something we need right now?"
The dark knight remained silent.
"Exactly." Hyperion nodded. He glanced at the Martian. "So, with that out of the way, feeling any better, J'ohn?"
"Indeed." the Martian Manhunter nodded, "I thank you for your help, and I believe I can find where Superman and HawkGirl are being held."
"Great!" the Flash chirped, giving the Martian a thumbs up. "So what are you waiting for? Lead the way, big guy!"
And with that, we bring this chapter to a close.
