Hello everyone, here is the fourth chapter ! As always One Piece is not mine, only Stella Star.
Thank you for reading my story ! Don't forget to leave a comment if there's a problem of translation !
See you soon !
The lighthouse starts to disappear on the horizon. Nami calls everyone into the kitchen to talk about the Reverse Mountain. Everyone goes inside, but I stay outside for a while, feeling the wind and currents pushing the boat. We start drifting too far to the left, they might enter the Calm Belt. Should I tell them? I shake my head, if they can't be careful, they don't deserve to go to the Grand Line. I turn away from the sea and go inside. The others are gathered around the table on which the map of the Grand Line is spread out. I lean quietly against the wall next to the door.
"Reverse Mountain is a mountain you have to cross to get to the other side, I think there's a channel to get over it". Nami states, pointing to the map.
"A canal, you must be joking!" replies Usopp, not at all convinced by what Nami has just said. The others offer different opinions on the accuracy of the map before turning to me.
"Tell me Stella, how do we pass the Reverse Mountain?" I give Nami a long look before answering.
"I remind you that I'm only here to observe you, so I won't say anything. Besides, it would spoil the experience of discovery. " Nami frowns at my response.
"I'll have you know that you're on this boat, so if we sink, you sink with us!". I smile sadistically as I approach Nami with a feline gait and tower over her with all my height. It's not very difficult, I'm taller than her by a head. I reach out, gently grab a lock of her hair and start playing with it. Nami tenses at my approach and even more so when I reach out to her. I smile seductively as I get within inches of Nami's face and say in a slightly intimidating voice.
"That's where you're wrong my dear Nami, because I'm able to move by walking through the air, so if your ship ever sinks, I'll just walk to the next island." Nami clenches her fists, but holds her gaze.
"Fine, we'll manage without you." My smile turns mischievous and I ruffle her hair before walking away.
"I'm counting on you, navigator!" She growls as she brushes her hair back. Usopp mutters about me being a demon as he walks away from me, preferring to face the storm rather than me. He opens the door but stops in the doorway. His eyes are bulging and he points outside.
"Uh ... Where did the storm go?"
Nami and I frown and everyone goes outside. Outside, the sky is blue, there's no wind and no waves. And shit, we're on the Calm Belt. Nami pales next to me, she's come to the same conclusion.
"Oh no, we're on Calm Belt!"
"Calm Belt? Isn't the sea full of Sea Kings?" Luffy asks, no more panicked than that. "I wonder what it tastes like." He says as he drools, probably imagining a big piece of steak. Despite the situation, I can't help but find Luffy incredibly cute. I understand more and more why Shanks is fixated on him.
"Sea King meat is the best meat I've ever eaten, it's a bit difficult to kill one, but it's worth it. After that, you have to have a good cook to cook it, otherwise you can ruin the taste of the meat." I say casually, thinking back to the time I cooked this meat badly, the taste was far too strong. I was forced to throw it overboard, as the smell was unbearable. But when I tasted Thatch's Sea King steaks, it was heaven! I frowned as I thought of Thatch. I could never taste his cooking again. A small twinge of guilt stirs in my heart, but as always, I know it will soon disappear.
"Hmm... I've never cooked Sea King, but it gives me plenty of recipe ideas!" said Sanji, holding his chin.
"What the hell is wrong with you people? If we don't get out of here soon, the Sea Kings will come and we'll end up in their stomachs!". Nami barely had time to say that when the boat started shaking and landed on the nose of a Sea King who was more than a thousand times the boat. Everyone around me is freaking out, I couldn't help but giggle slightly, which made Nami scream.
"I don't see what's so funny!" She shakes me off, but quickly lets go as the Sea King sneezes, causing the ship to fly away. Usopp flies off the ship and almost gets eaten by a giant frog, luckily Luffy catches him in time. The ship lands again in the storm, and everyone is sprawled out on the deck, exhausted. Except me and Luffy, who roll around on the floor laughing.
"Ha ha ha ha ha! That's the first time I've seen a sea king sneeze! Ha ha ha ha!"
"But you'll stop laughing, there was nothing funny about it!" Everyone yells at us.
Ha ha ha! Sorry, sorry, but pay no attention to me and focus instead on the entrance to the Grand Line." Indeed, in front of us stands Red Line in all its glory.
"Wow... You can't even see the top." Said Usopp, looking up.
"Watch out ahead! Don't miss the door, we're starting to drift! Sanji, Usopp! Go to the helm, we have to go right!" shouted Nami. Indeed, the boat was about to smash against the wall. Sanji and Usopp rush to the helm but have trouble steering the boat. The wood of the helm creaks dangerously and starts to bend. This boat is clearly not made to sail on the Grand Line. The helm breaks cleanly, causing Sanji and Usopp to fall with the piece of wood in their hands. And shit. The boat plunges into the Red Line, the sharp, blood-red rocks looking like they're going to drink the crew's blood. I'm already preparing to say goodbye to my holiday. Luffy jumps without hesitation between the boat and the wall.
"Gomu Gomu no balloon!" It inflates and creates a cushion of air, allowing the boat to not crash and reach the current safely. Luffy deflates and grabs Zoro's hand before he falls into the water.
"We made it!" Everyone shouts, happy to have made it to the channel. I lean against the wall and enjoy the feeling of speed as I make my way up the canal to the top. As the boat jumps into the air, adrenaline rushes through my veins and I smile like crazy.
I'm going home! The boat is speeding down the slope towards the Grand Line. Everyone around me is bubbling with energy, which makes me smile even more. Have fun kids and welcome to the greatest adventure of your lives.
"BWOOOOOO!" A strange noise is heard echoing through the air. Everyone looks around, a new shout draws attention to the front of the ship.
"There's a mountain, straight ahead!" Sanji shouts as he points to something in front of him. I frown and quickly think about what he just said. Oh no, don't tell me it's Laboon acting up again. As the mist clears, a huge whale blocks our path. Everyone panics and tries to get the boat over the side despite the broken rudder. They are in a bad way with the rudder H.S. Luffy rushes inside the ship, saying he has an idea to get us out. This doesn't reassure me at all, because as the saying goes: When a D. has an idea, you never get bored. Well, I admit that I made it up, but it has always been accurate. And I was right, because while everyone else is fighting with the rudder. Luffy fires the bow gun at the whale, which slows the boat down, but not enough to stop the figurehead from breaking in two. I join my hands in a silent prayer. Sorry Laboon, I hope you didn't suffer too much. Although I'm sure Laboon felt it like a flick.
"My seat! "Luffy shouts. Everyone's face turns pale, understanding what their captain has just done. They panic, fearing that the whale will spot them and attack them. Admittedly, Luffy's action is not the smartest, but it worked. Soon, Sanji, Zoro and Usopp grab the oars to pull the boat away from the whale, while the whale still doesn't react. But Luffy couldn't care less.
"What were you thinking breaking my favourite seat!" He throws a huge punch in Laboon's eye. I wince at Luffy's stupidity. He has even less survival instinct than Shanks. I didn't think it was possible.
Laboon's eye slides towards us and with another howl, she swallows the ship in retaliation. Here we go again ! I slap my hat on my head and cling to the railing as the boat speeds off into the darkness.
The boat is shaken in all directions, plunged completely into the dark, until we reach the whale's stomach. Ahead of us, the weather is beautiful, the sky is blue, birds are flying in the sky and a small island stands before us. Everyone is confused by this situation and I can understand them, after all, what is an island doing in a whale's stomach? But their questions are quickly stopped by the arrival of a giant squid ready to sink the ship. Seriously Laboon, didn't anyone ever tell you to chew well before swallowing? Fortunately for the youngsters, the squid is harpooned and towed back to the island. Zoro and Sanji are on guard against a new potential danger, while Usopp and Nami cry in the corner, and Luffy... Where is he? I don't see him anywhere on the ship. Don't tell me he fell in the water! I deploy my observation haki to the maximum and breathe a sigh of relief when I feel that he is inside Laboon. On the other hand, I feel the presence of two other people.
"Ho! A flower!" shouted Sanji, pointing at Crocus. I couldn't help but laugh, trying as hard as I could to stifle my laughter in my hands. Ha, ha, ha! I'll have to write it down.
Crocus and the others stare at each other intensely, until the 'flower' sits down in him deckchair and unfolds the newspaper.
"But say something, damn it!" Sanji starts to get annoyed, but Crocus still says nothing, staring at them.
"Don't... Don't look at me like that, old man! We have a cannon!" Usopp shouts, completely shaken.
"No need to get excited kid, or there will be deaths...". Crocus warns with a totally serious and slightly threatening expression.
"And who for instance?" Sanji replies on guard, ready to defend himself.
"Me." Crocus says with a totally detached look on his face. This causes me to fall back into another muffled laugh, but this time Crocus notices me. My hat hides a good portion of my face, but it wasn't enough, as his eyes widen slightly, a sign that he recognized me. Shit, I need to find something else to disguise myself with, even if Crocus isn't a problem, it might be inconvenient later on.
Zoro calms Sanji down and asks what this place is, except that Crocus asks them to introduce themselves first. But before Zoro can begin the introductions, Crocus shows off his life, which causes Zoro to throw a fit. At this point, I couldn't help but burst out laughing, which made all heads turn towards me.
"Can I know what your fucking problem is?!" Nami said, glowering at me.
"Ha ha ha! Sorry, it's just that this situation is so funny! Hey Crocus! I see you're not dead yet!" I say, waving my arm in his direction. He lowers his newspaper and his eyebrows rise high on his forehead.
"I thought I recognised you, Stella, what are you doing here? With bruises to boot? Have you decided to babysit?" I scowl at his words, does it sound so much like babysitting?
"No, I'm on holiday, at the request of the redhead". It is Crocus' turn to burst out laughing.
"Ha ha ha ha! You could never refuse him anything! He knows how to convince you, that kid!" I mumble under my breath that it's not even true.
"Sorry to ruin this reunion, but we were swallowed by a whale, weren't we? "Usopp asks. I turn to him and flash a big smile.
"Yes, we are in the whale's stomach."
"What! But we have to get out of here right now!" Nami starts to panic, and I can understand her, as Laboon's gastric juices are about to nibble away at the wood of the hull.
"If this is the exit you're looking for, it's right in front of you." Crocus says, pointing to the huge door that seems to float on the water, but the others soon realise that the sky is just a trompe l'oeil. Without warning, the sea of gastric juices begins to shake in all directions. Please, Laboon, stop hurting yourself. I say to myself sadly.
Crocus explains to the others that Laboon is clashing with the Red Line again and that he must act quickly. But the crew jumps to conclusions and thinks he's trying to kill Laboon from the inside. I roll my eyes, but don't say anything, after all they can think whatever they want. I'm only here to observe them. As long as they don't try to kill Crocus, of course. Crocus dives into the stomach juices and swims towards the door, probably to go and stop Laboon. The others struggle with the oars to steer the boat towards the exit. A few minutes later, Laboon finally calms down and allows us to approach the door safely.
"What do we do now?"
A loud crash echoes through the belly, with a small door suddenly opening above us. We see three people fly towards us, including Luffy, before falling into the stomach juices. Quickly, the crew organizes to fish out Luffy, but also the other two people. Once everyone is back up, we start to detail the two strangers.
The first is a man dressed as a nobleman with a crown on his head, and the other is a young woman with long blue hair who looks at us with an evil look. Who are these clowns? Why are they in Laboon?
A few minutes later, Crocus reappeared.
"As long as I live, I won't let anyone hurt Laboon!" Crocus yells. At that moment, the two stowaways grab their weapons and fire two cannonballs into Laboon's stomach. By reflex, I leap onto the railing, ready to jump to intercept the cannonballs. But Crocus reacts quickly by stepping in and takes the full brunt of the attack, throwing him into the water. I grit my teeth, even though Crocus has seen more, he is getting old. The two idiots brag and laugh about being there to kill the whale. I'm going to BLOW THEM OUT! I walk towards them, black with rage, my haki starting to come out in long black stripes, but Luffy knocks them out with a huge punch. His gesture snaps me out of my anger and I take a deep breath, retracting my haki. Thanks Luffy, you just saved their lives. I rub the back of my neck, obviously when friends are in danger, I continue to act normally when I'm supposed to be a spectator.
We tie them up and go back to Crocus' island to have a better chat. I lie down on the grass and close my eyes to calm down, listening with a distracted ear to Crocus' story of Laboon. I think back to everything that has happened in the last few hours. I've met Luffy, made a promise to Shanks, learned of Thatch's death, returned to the Grand Line, seen Laboon and Crocus again, and lost my temper to two idiots. I can't believe the day isn't over yet. I say to myself with an amused look, but Nami pulls me out of my thoughts.
"Did you know that story, Stella?" My eyes widen and look at Nami.
"Yes, I know about Laboon. I even participated in the hunt for that crew, but I didn't find anything."
"YOU COULD HAVE TOLD US THERE WAS A WHALE BLOCKING THE WAY!" Nami yells at me, grabbing me by the collar and lifting me off the ground. With a yawn, I grab her handles and drop her to the ground before sitting on her back.
"Ow, ow, ow! Get off me!"
"No. You seem to have forgotten again that I'm only here to observe and train you. Besides, most of the time Laboon stays underwater, so it's not my fault she was out." I ruffle her hair and stand up.
"You don't have the right to attack us, your neutrality pact is just a lot of hot air?" I raise an eyebrow at his words.
"I'm pointing out that you're the one who opened the hostilities. I have the right to defend myself, not attack." Nami pouts and brushes her hair back.
"I see you're having fun with this crew, Stella." Said Crocus with a big smile on his face.
"I'm not complaining right now." With a smile as big as his own. We quietly make our way to the exit and finally get out of Laboon.
"Finally the open air! Under a real sky!" Luffy shouts at the front of the ship. We look at the two hostages on the ship.
"What do we do with these two?" I say as I point at them, I'm still pretty pissed off at them. I would have liked to torture them a bit to teach them the concept of respect for living beings.
"Throw them into the sea..." says Crocus, Zoro picks them up and throws them into the sea without any scruples. Hmmm... my idea was more interesting, but I won't say anything. The two clowns wake up at the touch of the water.
"By the way, we still don't know who you are?" asks Luffy nonchalantly, leaning on the railing. But they refuse to answer, looking at us with contempt, even though in their conversation we learn that the girl's name is Miss Wednesday and the guy is Mr 9. But what idiots. They walk away towards the horizon, cursing us.
"That lovely Miss Wesnesday is a mystery in herself." Sanji coos as he watches them leave. I roll my eyes at his behavior, if he's doing this to every woman he meets, it's going to be a long time. He might as well become a woman at this point. The thought brings a toothy grin to my face and I link my fingers together to start plotting. I can contact Ivan Kov, I'm sure he'll be delighted. Mouahahaha! My evil thoughts are stopped by Luffy who has found a Log Pose on the bridge, which probably belongs to the two idiots. I shrug, it will always be a spare Log Pose.
We sit down next to the lighthouse and Crocus tells the rest of the story. It makes me sad that Laboon keeps bumping into the Red Line, trying to get to the other side. Crocus and I tried to reason with her. I even offered to accompany her to the Grand Line so she could cross over to the other side via Fishman Island. But nothing happens, she doesn't want to move and keeps insisting on the mountain. Once again, it's Luffy who snaps me out of my thoughts by running to the ship and ripping off the main mast, before starting to climb Laboon. What the hell has gotten into him? The others haven't figured out what Luffy has done yet, until Luffy hits the mast directly into Laboon's wound, making her scream in pain.
"LUFFY! THIS IS NOT GOOD! WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN LABOON!" I yell at him with the others. Watching them, OK. But if they hurt my friends, that's another matter. I start to move forward to get Luffy, but Laboon comes at us wanting to smash Luffy into the mountain. We dodge her and Lufffy continues to attack Laboon until she manages to throw him against the lighthouse. He slides to the ground. I stride towards him. My hat casts a shadow over my face, hiding my anger, black threads begin to flutter around me.
"Luffy..." My voice is slightly distorted with anger and I move closer and closer to Luffy.
"MATCH NULL!" Luffy yells, which stops me and Laboon.
"There's no winner today, we have to reschedule this fight for another time! Your pirate friends may be dead, but you have a new opponent, me! When we've circled the Grand Line, I'll come back to see you. And then we can finally fight! "My anger fades at Luffy's words. He did this to help Laboon? Laboon starts to cry, she has a new purpose now. Tears appear in my eyes, I quickly wipe them away before anyone sees me, but I'm sure Crocus has seen me. Luffy comes back with a can of paint, a huge brush and starts to draw on Laboon's nose. The result is... how shall I put it... peculiar? I suppose it's supposed to represent the Jolly Roger of the crew, but you can see it's a dud. I do like his aim though, at least Laboon will stop bumping into the mountain. I approach Luffy and give him a hug.
Thanks Luffy. " Luffy gives me a big smile and starts laughing.
"Shishishi! No problem!" I smile gratefully and kiss his forehead before walking away quietly. Luffy shrugs and continues to paint, adding new details.
While Luffy is having fun playing artist, Usopp is crying as he repairs the ship. The poor ship has barely arrived on the Grand Line when the rudder, figurehead and mast are broken. Even if for the latter, it is totally the captain's fault. Sanji is in the kitchen, preparing a feast to recover from our emotions. I get to test his culinary skills, which Luffy bragged about and from the smell I can smell, he hasn't lied to me about his skills. Zoro is sleeping on the deck, which gives me a few jokes to play on him that mostly involve a pen and flowers. And Nami is concentrating on the map of Grand Line with a Log Pose in her hand, I walk over and sit down opposite her.
"What are you doing Nami?" I ask her as I lay my head in my hand.
"I'm looking at the map and the direction the Log Pose is pointing, but they don't match! Do you know why?" She says, looking up from the map.
"What! Really?! That's weird, I was sure this little map was complete." I reply, letting her know that her question is stupid. And she glares at me.
"It's okay, you don't have to make fun of me. I just wanted to make sure!"
"Is that Log Pose pointing in another direction?" Luffy asks as he points to the Log Pose he picked up earlier and indeed it does point in another direction. Nami picks up Luffy's Log Pose and compares it with the one in her hand.
"Yes, indeed, they are different... How come?" Nami looks at me, waiting for an explanation.
"It's okay, I'll give you a quick lesson." I take the second Log Pose from Nami's hands and tie it to my wrist. Nami frowns, but eventually shrugs. She picks up a pen and a sheet of paper, ready to write down what I'm about to say.
"Grand Line is surrounded by the Calm Belt, this sea is bisected by the Red Line, dividing our world into four. The first part of the Grand Line is called Paradise and the second part is called Hell or Shin Sekai. When you arrive on the Grand Line, the Log Pose will show you the first island of one of the 7 existing paths. Whichever path you take, they all meet on the last island of the Grand Line, Raftell, the legendary island that only the King of Pirates could reach. To get from one island to the other, you have to wait for the Log Pose to change its magnetic field. This change can last from a few hours to several months, or even years. You must know that on the Grand Line, you must trust the Log Pose 100% even if it indicates a strange direction." As I explained, the others approached, except for Zoro who was still sleeping. Sanji arrived, his arms laden with various dishes.
"So Raftell has the greatest treasure of all, the One Piece! "Usopp asks. I smile and glance at Crocus, who has his arms crossed and is looking out to sea. His head is probably filled with memories.
"Yes, that's where the One Piece is, Gold Roger's treasure" I get a little tongue-tied when I say Roger's name wrong, but better they learn it later.
"Anyway, we'll see when we get there! "Luffy declares with a hint of a mouthful. I nod and look down at my plate, but Luffy has already eaten everything.
"You've eaten everything, you pig! You'll pay for this! "Sanji said, kicking Luffy in the face. I admit that I wanted to do the same thing. Luffy flies away passing Nami and destroying the Log Pose. No but this is a joke ! I facepalm again, I feel like this is going to happen to me more and more often.
Nami is frozen in front of the destruction of her Log Pose. Before standing up and walking towards Sanji.
"Sanji, can you do something for me?" She says with a completely frozen smile.
"Of course Nami-swan. Anything you want!" I roll my eyes at him behavior unable to read the mood.
"You and Luffy, go cool off!" She throws the two idiots into the water. I'm a little worried about Luffy, but thanks to my haki, I sense that Sanji has picked him up before he sinks. I also feel the presence of the 2 whale killers a little further away. It seems that they don't give up their task so easily, unless the Log Pose that Luffy found is really theirs. When they arrive with Luffy and Sanji, I raise an eyebrow, even more so when they ask us to take them to Whisky Peak. If I'd been on my own, I'd have thrown them back in the water.
"Actually, the Log Pose we had is broken, do you still want a ride? "Nami said innocently, pointing to the broken Log Pose.
"What?! We begged you on our knees for nothing! But you're not going anywhere without that instrument either! "The girl shouts. Nami gives a small smile and points at me.
"Ah, how silly of me! We have a spare Log Pose that our comrade has." Instantly, the two are back on their knees. Nami is really sadistic when she wants to be, but I have to say that I like that characteristic. I say to myself with a sadistic smile.
"Okay, you can come." says Luffy. I frown not agreeing at all, but I don't have a say in the matter.
We get on the boat and I hand the Log Pose to Nami. She puts it on her wrist and looks at her map.
"The Log Pose does say Whisky Peak." She says smiling at me, I smile back.
"Are you sure you want to help these thugs? If you choose Whisky Peak as your first destination, you won't be able to change your route afterwards." Crocus warns, addressing Luffy. The two intruders laugh behind their hands, trying to be discreet. This smells like trouble to me.
"Yes! And if worst comes to worst, we'll just have to go around". Luffy answers with his eternal smile. He turns to his crew, raises his chest and points to the horizon.
"Weigh anchor! Goodbye Crocus! See you soon Laboon!" He shouts, accompanied by Laboon's cry. I wave my arm in the direction of my two friends.
"Goodbye, both of you, see you next time!" The boat gets further and further away until Red Line is no longer visible. I take a deep breath of the sea air and head for the bedroom. Inside, I put my things away and take the opportunity to change. I put on a light red T-shirt with black trousers. I take a thick wool-lined jacket under my arm, ready to face the changing climate of the early Grand Line. I go out to enjoy the last moments of calm before the big weather changes arrive. Nami is going to be put to the test in the next few hours. Barely a minute later, the temperature starts to drop sharply and flakes start to fall. I put on my jacket and lean against the balcony railing. Downstairs, Luffy and Usopp start having a snowman contest.
"Hey, guys! Can I play with you?" I ask them as they walk down the steps that are starting to turn white.
"Yeah, sure!" Luffy and Usopp respond in one voice.
A few minutes later, Luffy presents us with his snowman. He has a barrel on his head and a cape floating in the wind. I applaud his performance like a five year old.
"Not bad Luffy!"
Usopp snickers and introduces us to his snow queen, I whistle in admiration.
"Well done Usopp, but you still seem to lack ambition." They turn to me and their jaws drop to the floor, eyes glistening. Behind me is a huge ice dragon standing full height above me, its mouth open as it throws the two men. I took Kaido as a model and I must say that he is successful! The tip of the tail is wrapped around Zoro, who didn't move while I covered him with snow.
"WOUUAAAA! SO CLASSY!" they both shout. Without warning, Luffy throws one of his snowman's arms right into Usopp's snow queen head. In retaliation Usopp kicks Luffy's snowman. Seeing that the contest is turning into a snowball fight, I make snowballs and defend my dragon against the attacks of the other two. Usopp gives me the most trouble, as he constantly aims for my blind spots. I jump around swinging the snowballs against Usopp's and Luffy's.
"You'll never get my dragon!"
"I've already killed a dragon ten times bigger, this one won't escape me!" Said Usopp as he shot at me.
"Please, great Captain Usopp, it's only a baby!" I said with a laugh. I was starting to run out of snow, luckily Sanji arrived bringing me some new snow.
"Let me help you Stella-chan!"
"Thanks Sanji!" Sanji is in charge of making the snowballs and I am in charge of throwing them. On the other side, Usopp and Luffy have built a veritable snow fortress.
"Come and fight if you're men!" I shout at them as I shoot snowballs at full speed, shattering their snow walls.
"Arg... Retreat! Retreat! Our defenses are down!" yells Usopp with Luffy laughing in the snow. I jump on them, ready to make them eat my ammo.
"AHHHHHH! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!" Our snowball fight stops immediately when we hear Nami yell.
"We have to turn back right now! The boat is going in the wrong direction!" Says Nami totally panicked, she runs into the kitchen and throws the two intruders out.
"All sails to starboard! Usopp takes care of the sail, Sanji takes the helm!" Everyone is getting ready to change course. But the spring wind is starting to arrive. Things are about to get more and more turbulent.
Indeed, things have gone extremely fast. The wind starts to blow violently, the waves and currents become more and more agitated, icebergs appear in front of the ship and the boat takes one head-on, opening the hull. I watch everyone scramble, trying to keep the boat from sinking. The two clowns do their best to help, probably more out of survival instinct than anything else. After several very long minutes, calm returns and everyone is sprawled out on the deck, exhausted, except for Zoro who slept through the whole crisis.
"Well done everyone, you did well." I tell them with a small smile, leaning on the balcony railing.
"You could have helped us! Instead of just watching us!" The two clowns and Nami yell at me.
"No, and you know very well why, Nami. As for you two, you must know that I'm only here to watch them. As to why, that's none of your business."
It was at this point that Zoro finally decided to wake up.
"Hi Zoro, did you sleep well?" I give him a nice smile, knowing that Nami and the others will give him a hard time.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Are the others taking a nap too? I hope they've been careful to set a course." I chuckle at the situation, any more and it would be Zoro yelling at the others. He takes off the snow I had put on him and looks around, until he sees the fake king and the girl.
"What are you doing on this boat?" asked Zoro, his eyebrows darkening. Last I heard, they had been thrown overboard.
"You notice that now?! " Shouts the guy still wallowing on the deck.
"We're heading for the town they came from." Says Luffy perched next to me. Zoro walks over and crouches down in front of them with a toothy grin.
"May I ask what your name is?" Both of them shake their heads at Zoro, obviously frightened.
"Uh... I'm Mr. 9..."
"And I am... Miss Wesnesday..." Zoro rubs his chin, widening his smile.
"Yes, it's true... From the beginning, your names ring a bell... I feel like I've heard them somewhere before, but I can't remember where..." Both of them are clearly afraid of Zoro, Zoro's words also make me wonder. It's true that these names ring a bell. But my train of thought is stopped by Nami, who sends a punch to the swordsman's head, giving him several bumps.
"Listen to me! This is no time to be distracted! I realize how dangerous this sea is! And I also realized that all my knowledge of navigation had become useless!" Nami declares with force and conviction.
"Ha, Er... And you're going to be okay?" Usopp asks slightly surprised. After all, their navigator just said she's helpless on the Grand Line.
"Trust me, we'll get there and look, the island is straight ahead!" says Nami pointing to an island that looks like giant cacti.
This is finally the first island, their first adventure on the Grand Line.
