Third Person's POV
*Flashback* After the Massacre
"Jiji..." The child called out with sadness in her voice.
"I'm listening" The Hokage said with a smile
"Why would he do that... I know that there is a reason...I-I don't believe it... Wh-why would he do that.." The child sob looking at the Hokage.
"Shh... don't cry, Akira." The Hokage said while attempting to console the crying child.
"I-I don't know, Akira" The Hokage lied. He can't tell the truth to her, at the right time, maybe she will know the truth.
"First it was Shisui-san, now it's Itachi-san." Akira said wiping her tears.
"I saw Sasuke... he wasn't the same, he won't talk to me anymore. I saw him went to the Uchiha residence...the happy Sasuke is gone, Jiji... all I can see now in his eyes are anger and sadness." Akira said looking at the ground as she tries not to cry again.
"Jiji..." Akira said looking at the Hokage
"Why don't you let Sasuke live with us?" Akira said. Maybe Sasuke could live with them, in that way he won't be lonely, he will still have her, even if he acts cold towards her...
"Akira, I can't do that" The Hokage said thinking about Danzo and the councils.
"W-why?..." Akira said tilting her head, looking at the Hokage with puffy eyes, her eyes being filled with tears again. She thought that would be possible, why can't Sasuke live with them...
The Hokage look at the now emotionless eyes looking at him. He wanted to comfort the child, even if she tried to hide it, he can see in her eyes that a lot of thoughts are going on in her little mind. He wanted to apologize for not telling the truth to her and Sasuke... but it was the only way, they are too young to know such thing.
"You will understand at the right time Akira."
"But-"
"Akira come here." The Hokage said with a kind smile patting his lap. Akira just looks at him not attempting to move.
"It's okay" The Hokage said smiling. Akira complied this time.
"Jiji... why are they watching me?" Akira said looking up at the Hokage, not pushing any further about Sasuke living with them. Maybe, just like her Jiji said, she will understand at the right time.
"Who?" The Hokage asked confused
"I don't know... but I can always feel eyes watching me. Even before the massacre, I thought they are just watching Itachi-san and Shisui-san since they are really talented... " She said a small smile appearing on her lips.
"But even after the massacre, I can still feel eyes watching me." Akira explained brows furrowed her smile fading, making the Hokage confused.
"Then there was this bandage guy ..." A small smile appeared on Akira's lips again.
"He showed up at our apartment, he asked me if I wanted to go with him, he said I would have a family ..." Akira said looking at the night sky.
"I see..." (That Danzo...) The Hokage thought.
"Jiji, what's foundation?... He told me that if I join them, I would have a family, he even said that I could protect Sasuke and Naruto that way... "
"You see Jiji, I don't really need a family, but I wanted to protect them..." Akira said looking at her hands.
"If I join them... can I really protect them?" Akira said a tear threatening to fall as she clench her little fist slightly.
"Shisui-san is now dead, then Itachi-san is now a rouge ninja... I know a child like me can't really do anything, but if I join what his saying maybe I will not lose any more precious people in my life, maybe I could somewhat help them..." Akira said with a shaky voice.
"Akira..." The Hokage said wiping the tears falling from the child eyes.
(That Danzo, I already told him to stay away from Akira) The Hokage thought his hold on Akira tightens.
"Akira" The Hokage called again, making her look at him with more tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
"Akira, you know the Anbu right?" The Hokage asked
"mhm" Akira hums nodding her head
"The foundation is similar to the Anbu, but they are the ones who work in the shadows, doing whatever it takes to protect the village, even if it means doing so in a dark way. They are not subordinate to the Hokage, but to Danzo. Do you really want to join them, because if you do, your life will change... Are you fine with that, Akira?" The Hokage explained with a kind smile on his lips.
"..." Akira just look at the Hokage.
"It's okay you don't have to answer now, I'm not rushing you. Take all your time what you want to do" The Hokage said raffling Akira's hair.
"mhm" Akira hums playing with the Hokage's finger. She doesn't know what to do, she is confused. All she wanted to do was to be strong so that she can protect them... no matter in what way, she just want them to be safe...
"Jiji, can I sleep on your lap?" Akira asks wiping all the remaining tears on her cheeks. The Hokage just stares at Akira, shocked.
"No, I-I was just joking..." Akira said about to stand but the Hokage stops her.
"No, it's okay, I'm just shocked, this is the first time you show affection towards me, you are always rude to me you know..." The Hokage said laughing making Akira cross her arms, squinting her eyes. The mood lightens a little bit, making the Hokage sigh.
"You could sleep now Akira, just come back here again once you have the answer" The Hokage whispered seeing that Akira closed her eyes, her head resting on the Hokage's chest.
(What would be your decision Akira...) The Hokage thought looking at the sleeping child on his lap.

The Hokage was looking at the village through the window of the Hokage office when someone open the door revealing someone he was just thinking about.
"Danzo, you're here again as I expected, "The Hokage said still looking at the village.
"I heard that Akira, is now on the Anbu?" Danzo asks having an edge in his voice.
"She is, since 4 months ago" The Hokage said walking to the table. He feels like he knows where this is going.
"Ma, Hiruzen, why didn't you tell me such crucial information, you know that I've been recruiting her to the foundation. She is more capable if you enter her into the foundation"
"She's the one who told me not to tell you, Aside from that, she was still debating whether or not to join the foundation. As you stated, she has more potential if she joins the foundation, and her identity will be more protected once she joins the root." There was a knock on the door after the Hokage said that.
"Come in," said the Hokage as he waited for the person to enter.
The person walks in, revealing a small child wearing an Anbu mask and holding a scroll in her right hand; if you look at her, you will notice that she has just completed a mission.
Before entering, her purple eyes examine the surroundings.
She walks towards the Hokage, her gaze fixed on the other person in the room.
"Danzo-sama," she said respectfully, bowing her head.
"Hokage-sama," she said, turning to face the Hokage kneeling in front of him.
"That's faster than I expected; you've become more skilled and efficient since joining the Anbu," the Hokage said, smiling.
"What happened to your mission, Miyagami?" the Hokage inquired, his face turning solemn.
"As expected, there are Iwa-nin on the border of the fire country, and a few who have already entered the fire country; the ones who have already entered the fire country have already been killed; we have already taken out their camping sites, Hokage-sama, and here is the information we gathered from their bases," the Anbu said as she approached the Hokage's table, holding the scroll in her hand.
The Hokage takes the scroll and reads its contents.
"What happened to the Iwa-nin on the border of the fire country?" the Hokage inquired, his brow furrowed as he continued to read the scroll.
"Sorry, Hokage-sama, but some of them have been captured, while others have escaped; the other team has already brought them to Ibiki-san," the Anbu bowed apologetically.
"No, it's okay you may leave now." The Hokage said with a kind smile. The Anbu did move an inch from her position as if she is thinking.
"Seems like you still need to tell me something, Miyagami." The Hokage said a kind smile still on his face.
"I... I have decided, Hokage-sama," The Anbu said, casting a glance at Danzo before returning her gaze to the Hokage.
"I see..." said the Hokage, alarmed.
"Since Danzo is already here... please remove your mask," the Hokage said, and the Anbu immediately obeyed, revealing an emotionless face and cold eyes looking at Danzo before returning her gaze to the Hokage.
"So, Akira, what's your decision?" the Hokage inquired, his brows furrowed.
"I will join the Foundation, Hokage-sama," Akira said, Danzo smirk hearing it and a glint of something in his eyes. Danzo looks at the Hokage, their gazes locked, and the Hokage averts his gaze back to Akira, nodding.
"I see... Danzo, please give us some time to talk; you can return tomorrow," the Hokage said, his gaze fixed on Danzo.
"Don't poison her mind with your regimen, Hiruzen" Danzo said as he turned to leave, giving Akira one last look.
When Danzo's chakra vanished, the Hokage used a silencing Jutsu to silence the room.
"Akira, are you sure about this?" the Hokage inquires, concerned.
"Hai! If it means protecting the village, especially them," Akira said as she faced the Hokage.
(I don't like the Anbu, Jiji...) Akira thought a memory crossing her mind.
"I see, so that's your final decision... but you will not be an official member of the foundation, Akira" the Hokage said as he stand up.
"What do you mean, Hokage-sama?" Akira asked, puzzled.
"I've been thinking about this since you joined the Anbu, Akira; you'll be my eyes and ears throughout the foundation activities."
"You've been an Anbu for four months now, and you're also seven years old, so I believe you'll be able to complete this mission now." The Hokage stated looking at Akira's eyes. He let Akira join the Anbu, because he didn't want her to just join the foundation without him knowing. Danzo can be really persistent and will do anything if he wanted something. Especially, the person training her sees the drastic change in the way she acts, and more likely she is going in the wrong direction... If he let Danzo get her first into the foundation... There's a possibility that she will change completely...
"The person who trained you told me that you had really improved, and I can confirm that now," the Hokage says. "You didn't tell 'him' your position, right?" the Hokage asks.
"I didn't tell 'him', Hokage-sama," Akira said, making the Hokage nod his head.
"Akira, this will be your first solo mission and I trust you with this. I have an Anbu already observing the foundation, but it's not enough to know what the foundation is planning to do, I can't let the foundation on its own now since that-" The Hokage cut himself from saying anything else. He looked at Akira and continues.
"I want you to be a spy for me and be a member of the root, since Danzo wants you to join the foundation, you will be able to get information and observe the foundation from the inside. You will be a root but you will still be under the Hokage and will report everything to me about their organization's actions. Do you understand Akira?" The Hokage explained walking towards Akira.
"I understand, Hokage-sama" Akira said bowing.
"Can, you tell 'him', Jiji...I have been 'his' student for almost 6 months, one and half months before I join the Anbu, I really respect 'him'. He's like a family to me, I want him to know." Akira said still bowing.
" Please rise, Akira" The Hokage ordered. Akira complied immediately. The Hokage said making Akira look up at him
"If you want me to I will, but once you enter the Foundation, he will stop being your teacher, besides his been asking for permission to leave"
"I see, it's fine with me, Hokage-sama. 'He' always bothers me of what I always do, so I think he should know this before 'he' leaves, and maybe it's time for the old man to at least relax" Akira said looking directly at the Hokage, scratching her cheek slightly, cold eyes softening. The Hokage chuckles.
A thought crossed his mind "I know Danzo put cursed on his subordinates, so I'll put a Jutsu on you to protect you from the mark." The Hokage said smiling, she nods her head.
"Rest Akira, just come back early tomorrow, Naruto must have been causing trouble again in the village or in the Academy" The Hokage stated, laughing
"mhm, I'm actually planning on visiting Naruto in the academy, it's also his second week" Akira said with a small smile.
"You should go now, be careful Akira" The Hokage said patting Akira's head like a dog.
"Ahh, moo... stop that Jiji" Akira said shoving the Hokage's hand and leaving through the window.
The Hokage just chuckles. Once Akira leaves the Hokage's face turns to a worried look
"I hope I didn't make the wrong decision" The Hokage said to himself looking where Akira was a few seconds ago.
*End Flashback*
Kakashi's POV
"But I really made the wrong decision" The Hokage said a very sad look on his face, chuckling a little as if mocking himself.
I just look at the Hokage's face trying to understand all of this.
"I'm confused Hokage-sama, if she is already on the Anbu and Root why did you send her back to the Academy." I stated what's been running in my head.
"It's already late so that's the only thing I"ll tell you for now. But to make it clear she doesn't have any memory from her Anbu days. I'll tell you the other info someday, just let this information sink into your mind for now. Please don't tell Akira any of this, Kakashi. It will be better if she doesn't know" The Hokage said with a sigh. I put my hands in my pockets and nodded, not attempting to speak.
(Don't have memory, why? Does that mean she also forgot her skills...) I thought with furrowed eyebrows
"You may leave now Kakashi" I just nodded and left through the door.
My fist clenched, something in me boiling with all the information I just learned about Akira.
(What's more, I need to know about you Akira...) I thought, my heart beating fast, thinking of all the possibilities that there is something worse from Akira's past
