Akira's POV
*Flashback: age 4*
I was walking in the village hand in my pocket. I sigh as the wind blew.
(What should I do... my life is boring...) I thought sighing again
My eyes locked on a certain shop.
( ahh, I should probably buy a candy...) I thought looking at the money in my hand.
I put back my hand in my pocket and walk towards it.
Once I bought candy. I quickly opened the wrapper of the lollipop and continue my walk in the village.
I look around examining the villagers who are all smiling and chattering with each other.
I just look at them with a poker face and look at the ground again.
"I don't really know what to do..." I mutter
"That's the kid right..." I heard one of the villagers say. My head snapped to look at the villagers
"I heard it's true..." One of the villagers whispered. I look at where they were looking, and seeing a yellow-haired boy. I look back at the villages when the atmosphere becomes different.
"He gives me creeps..." The villager said again
(Why are they looking at him like that...) I thought glancing back and forth between the yellow-haired boy and the villagers. I keep my eyes on the yellow-haired boy and observe him.
(He looks normal, why are they like that...) I thought following the kid.
He seems tensed and sad. He suddenly changes his route towards a forest. I stop and jump on a nearby tree to hide.
( What is he going to do here...)
I just follow him and stop when he stops at a river. He jumps up and down trying to grab a branch of a tree. After a few tries, he groaned and plopped down on the ground catching his breath, and just played with the water.
( Should I help him...) I thought leaning a little to see more. The branch I was stepping at creaked. The yellow-haired boy looked in my direction, his shoulder tensing.
"Who is it?" He said in a defensive manner.
I jump down on a tree and smiled a little to look that I'm not going to do anything to him.
"Are you following me? What are you doing here?" He said tensely. I scratch my neck
"...I-I just.." I said but don't know what should I say next
"Do you want a company?" I said really fast.
"I'm sorry I'm not really good at socializing..." I said whispering the last part. His posture relaxed and look at me smiling. I look at the side in an attempt to avoid his eyes.
"Did I scare you, I'm sorry..." I said looking back at him. He smiled again at me, this time I smiled a little back at him
He sat down on the ground again and look at me.
"Is that an invitation?" I asked uncertainly
He hums and nods his head, still smiling. I walk towards him slowly, I sit beside him but not too close.
"Do you want to catch fish?" I asked uncomfortable by the sudden silence.
He quickly looked at me and nodded, his eyes twinkling. I smiled at his reaction and stand up, I jump up and down to reach a branch of a tree. I broke the branch once I finally reached it.
"Here..." I said giving him the branch
"I saw you earlier trying to reach this, but you're too small ..." I said scratching my neck.
"I'm pretty tall-dattebayo " He protests. He grabbed the stick and tie the line he was holding.
"... How old are you?" I asked him once his done tying the line to the stick.
He looked at me and glance back at the river, throw the fishing line on the river, and pinned it on the ground.
"I'm 4..." He said looking back at me
"I see, were the same age" I said with a kind smile.
"My name's Uzumaki Naruto-dattebayo" He said with a big smile.
"What's your name?" He asked me
"Akira..." I simply said to him still smiling
( How long can I keep this up...)
"You don't have to smile... I can see it in you're eyes-dattebayo" He said making me shocked.
"I-I see..." I whispered chuckling awkwardly.
"I'm sorry, I don't want to scare you" I said scratching my neck a little
"Don't worry, I always see you walking in the village. I have always wanted to approach you. You have a unique hair-dattebayo" He said still with a smile
I just looked at him shocked and smiles.
"I see" I whispered again.
The line wiggled indicating that it caught something. He quickly hold the stick and tried to pull it.
"Akira... Heavy..." He said making me quickly move beside him to help him.
I count and pulled the stick with all our force.
We stumbled back and fall to the ground. We look at each other and laugh
(His radiating so much energy) I thought, looking at him.
"Ahh, mo, that hurts..." I said standing up and patting the dirt on my pants.
Naruto stands up excitedly and walks toward the wiggling fish
"Akira, we caught a big one-dattebayo" He said hugging the fish to avoid it from escaping.
"That's amazing Naruto-san" I said approaching him. He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows.
"Can you not call me Naruto-san, it's too formal-dattebayo" He said uncomfortably.
"Ohh, I'm sorry, N-Naruto" I quickly apologizes.
"No, it's okay I'm just not used to it" He said smiling at me. I nodded my head and return a smile.
"We should cook this while it's still fresh if you want... " I said to him, He quickly nodded his head and walk towards big stones that you can sit on and sticks to make a fire
"So you always go here?" I ask him once he finishes putting the fish on a stick, after cleaning it. He just hums and tried to make a fire. After a few tries not succeeding, he sighed and look at me with a cheeky smile.
I sat beside him and make a sloppy fire with my hand. I tried to maintain the fire and touch the pile of sticks. I sigh and wipe the sweat forming on my forehead. I place the fish on the side and pinned the stick on the ground, the fish is just above the fire to let it cook. I look back at Naruto and see his eye looking at me intensely, looking amazed. I sweatdropped at his reaction.
"What is it?" I ask playing with my finger.
"Wow... How did you do that-dattebayo?" He said excitement clear in his eyes
"I-I don't know... I learned it by accident..." I said uncertainly. He looks at me indicating that I continue.
"It was last year, I was 3 years old. That was the first time I get out of the orphanage. There were some drunk people that tried to approach me, they have some creepy smile on their face..." I said my eyebrow twitching.
"They said some creepy things to me too, one of them tried to touch me. I-I got scared... I stumbled back when fire burst in my hand burning his clothes... I don't really know what happened" I said to him with a smile. He looks at me and smiles really big.
"Ha! Serves them right-dattebayo!" He said raising his fist.
I hum and look at the fire in front of us.
"After that incident, I tried to do it again secretly in the forest. I still remember the feeling of it so it wasn't that hard to try to do it again, the hard part is to maintain it" I said chuckling a little. He also chuckles and positions the fish again to cook the other side.
"You're not like the others, they always avoids me" He said with a sad look
I look at him and smiles "You seem normal, it's not like you're gonna harm me"
He looks at me and suddenly jumps to hug me "Io, io. mo, W-why?" I said pushing him away
"This is the first time someone my age talks to me..." He said removing his hold on me, scratching his cheek slightly. I chuckled at him.
"Well, expect this will not be the last time..." I said to him poking his cheek. He blushes and smiles at me.
(I never really have this conversation with anyone... wow) I thought, amazed by the sudden light feeling on my chest.
(Why are they looking at you like that...) I thought, looking at him with a sad smile.
"Why?" He asked looking confused tilting his head to the side. I smiled again.
"Nothing, this is also the first time I talk to someone like this..." I said
"We could be friends-dattebayo!" He said very excitedly. I look at him somewhat uncertain. He notices the look on my face and scratches his cheeks again uncomfortable
"That is if you want" He whispered sad smile playing on his face.
I nod my head and smile at him making him look at me again
"I'll be you're bestfriend" I said to him. He smiles very brightly at me and hugs me again
"A..io..." I said pushing him again
"Oh, sorry, I just got excited again" He said blushing.
"It's okay, I'm just not used to when someone suddenly gets closed to me," I said smiling. I look back at the fish cooking.
"The fish is cooked" I said making him look at the fish
"Yoshi! We could eat now..." He said grabbing the stick, his stomach growling. We look at each other and laugh
(I really like this feeling...)

We were walking on the village in a comfortable silence
"Where do you live?" I said looking at him
"Do you want to go to my apartment?" He said jumping up and down. I hum and give him an eye smile
"Don't play with that kid, okay?" One of the villagers said. I look around seeing the villagers glaring at Naruto
(Why?...) I thought squinting my eyes. I look back at Naruto seeing him having a sad look, looking like he's about to cry
(Naruto...)
"You don't know what he will do to you..." The villager continued. I didn't know what got into me but I glared back at the villagers making them shocked. I drag Naruto and run away from the crowded place. He got shocked by my sudden action but decided to follow me.
We came to a stop and catch our breath.
"You don't have to do that-dattebayo" He said breathlessly
"Ahh, mo, I can't stand them" I said crossing my arms and frowning
"Besides I'm your best friend now I can't let them be like that to you" I said looking to the side still frowning. I look back at him, I panic when I see the look on his face
"io!, Why? Did I say something wrong?" I said panicking
"This is the first time someone stood up for me..." He said crying.
"So this is how it felt like to have someone," He said crying more. I look at him shocked and walk towards him.
"It's okay, come on now, don't cry" I said trying to comfort him.
He looked up at me and wipe the tears on his cheeks, I smiled at him.
"So, do you still want me to go to your apartment?" I ask ruffling his hair a little. He nodded and drag me with him.
(I never had this kind of feeling like this before...I have finally found it... Naruto...you are my sun and I'll be here for you no matter what) I thought, smiling more.
