Chimera629: That's the explanation given in the opening cinematic to Darksiders 2

Spyro Fanboy: He may or may not. Don't worry he will be reunited with some of his friends.

Death leaned against a tree on the far side of the clearing, as far away as he could get from the hunters and demigods. He found both parties to be annoying and not worth his time. Death pulled out the seal he had retrieved from Thorn's corpse and examined it, again, for any sign of damage. The seven seals of the apocalypse were hidden across all creation and were by all means indestructible, only being cracked when the end times were prophesized to happen.

'How did the manticore happen to find one of the seals. The only way would be by shear dumb luck, unless someone told him where to find it, or gave it to him.' Death thought, and his train of thought was reasonable, the seven seals were hidden and not meant to be found. As a horseman of the apocalypse, Death knew where the seals were hidden and he and his sibling were sometimes tasked with checking on the seals and moving them if they were to be discovered.

Death continued to think to himself and maintain his distance from the others, until he sensed one of the hunters approach him.

"Speak girl." Death ordered without turning to the hunter. Said hunter was glaring at Death.

"Our lady wants to have a word with you, man." Spoke the hunter as she maintained her heated glare at Death. With a grunt, Death kicked off the tree he was leaning on and turned to the hunter.

"Lead me." Ordered Death as held out an arm. "Dust, get down here, now!"

Dust, a large crow, cawed and flew from his perch in a nearby tree and landed on Death's out stretched arm before taking his place upon his master's shoulder. As the hunter lead Death to Artemis' tent, the others in the camp, hunters and demigods combined, stared at the horseman. Most of the stares, from the hunters, were contempt for the horseman for trying to harm Artemis. The demigods and satyr stared with barely hidden fear.

After reaching Artemis' tent, the hunter opened the main flap and ushered Death inside. On the inside of the tent there was a low-lying table and cushions spaced around it as seats. Artemis sat on one side of the table, behind her was a cot and a bow and a pair of hunting knives made of silver. On the other side of the table sat the blonde demigoddess and one of the two children Thorn tried to kidnap.

Artemis looked up and saw Death enter her tent, she narrowed her eyes at the horseman but didn't say anything to him. Annabeth and Bianca turned to the horseman, both looked at Death in fear of what he did earlier to Thorn and Artemis.

"Speak your piece goddess, I have other matters to attend to." Death said causing Artemis to narrow her eyes further and growl at the impudence of the horseman.

"I called you here for the matter of you killing the manticore, Thorn." Artemis spoke with frustration dripping in her voice, growing tired of this male speaking down to her.

"The reasons for his death are my own and you are not owed an explanation." Death retorted narrowing his eyes at the goddess. Artemis snarled at Death and thought of threatening him.

"What other matters do you have that could be more important?" Questioned Annabeth.

Death turned to her with the same narrowed eyes. "I'm expected on Olympus soon to remind your king of his place in the universe." Death said

Artemis leapt to her feet in outrage. "How dare you threaten my father! I should kill you where you stand for this insolence!" She raged at the horseman, who brought his hand down to the handles of his hand scythes in anticipation for a fight.

"You will find yourself a head short by the time you cross the distance between us." Death threatened.

The tension in the room had become extremely thick and any more would most likely result in a bloody battle between the two. Annabeth and Bianca found it hard to breathe and needed to break the tension before they both fainted.

"You call yourself Death, the rider of the pale horse?" Annabeth asked. Both Death and Artemis turned to her. Annabeth could see Deaths eyes, an orange-red eye and a sea green eye. Sea green just like Percy, before he was dragged in to Tartarus during the quest to recover the master bolt. Death nodded his head to her question.

"Do you know what happen to a boy named Percy Jackson, he disappeared around a year ago. Hades says his soul did not return from Tartarus?" Annabeth asked the horseman.

From behind his mask Death lightly smirked at the question. He should have known a child of Athena would put the pieces together first. "Perseus Jackson is alive and relatively well." Death replied. Annabeth's eyes widened at the words.

"Do you know where he is?" She questioned eagerly.

"He is closer than you think." Death said ominously before turning to Artemis. "I'm leaving, do not try and stop me."

Death turned around and walked out of the tent and headed for the outside of the camp near the cliff. Reaching the cliff without incident, Death summoned despair and mounted his trusty steed. Despair galloped of the cliff and headed Southwest with a course set to Olympus.

Upon reaching Olympus, Death guided despair to the throne room. The citizens of Olympus moved out of the way of the galloping horse and rider, many gasping as they recognized the rider as a Horseman of the Apocalypse. By the time Death reached the throne room, rumors had been spread as to the reason why a horseman would come to Olympus and none were good. Dismounting despair at the base of the stairs leading to the Olympians, Death marched up to the doors and, with two purple spectral hands, pushed open the doors with enough force for them to slam into the walls with a thunderous boom.

The gods and goddesses with in the throne room jumped in surprise at the sudden noise. They all turned to the entrance and saw Death standing in the center of the doorway. Death slowly walked to the far side of the central hearth; the flames of the hearth cast a shadow on to Death that made him seem more frightening to the Olympians.

Pointing a hand scythe at Zeus, Death spoke. "You know why I'm here Zeus"

Zeus swallowed the lump in his throat, "Yes, you are here as the enforcer of the Charred Council."

"Yes, I'm here to remind you of your place and how the Council is displeased with your handlings of Kronos and his ilk rising again." Death said, narrowing his eyes at Zeus.

"Before that, the Crow father said that you would know more about my son, Percy Jackson." Poseidon interrupted.

Death turned his attention to the sea god "Oh, the old man said that did he?"

'Damn that meddling old man' Death thought "Yes, I know about him." Death said

Poseidon tensed his shoulders "Can you tell me where he is."

Death lowered his head and let out a small sigh before shaking his head.

"All I will say is that he is closer than you think." Death said ominously.

Hello everyone, It's me again.

I thought of having Death revel how he was under the mask, but decided against it as the mystery will add some flair to the story.

I hope you all enjoy the newest installment of The Sea's Reaper and I will see you all next chapter.
