A whole week had passed since the incident with Ember in Skery City and Danny hadn't been able to think of anything since. That full afternoon of events had replayed in his mind over and over again. It's as if his mind was a video camera and someone kept hitting the rewind button. His lack of attention was definitely noticeable to those around him and the whole thing was effecting his already not so great school work. Mr. Lancer was currently walking up to his desk for what felt like the tenth time this week, a disapproving look on his face.
"Mr. Fenton, I understand that teenagers such as yourself get distracted quite easily, but when you're in my class it would serve your best interest to actually pay attention to the lesson," said Mr. Lancer leaning right over Danny's desk. Danny had been so deep in thought he didn't even realize Mr. Lancer was there until he was a few feet away from his face.
"Huh, what? Oh, um, yes sir, of course," said Danny sitting back up straight and acting like he was suddenly interested in the content. In reality he wasn't even sure what class he was in. Science? Math? History?
Sam was right beside him staring suspiciously at her best friend. Nobody was being more observant of Danny's behavior over the past week more so than her. Even Jazz with her psychology obsession wasn't studying Danny this closely right now. And his lack of attention was just as apparent when he was at home too.
"Danny, you've been very absent for the past week ever since we ran into Ember. Are you absolutely sure everything is okay with you?" asked Sam. She was never fully convinced that Danny hadn't been put under some kind of influence from Ember's guitar again.
"Yes, I promise you I'm okay, I just have a lot on my mind," said Danny. It was true there was a lot on his mind, but it all centered on one person, Amberline/Ember. Currently his imagination was seeing an image of Ember rocking out on stage. She looked so beautiful and passionate about her music. While thinking these thoughts Danny once again let a goofy smile slowly form on his face while it fell back down to stare at his empty desk.
"Um, dude, Earth to Danny," said Tucker waving his hand in front of Danny's face while Mr. Lancer had his back turned. Danny paid him no attention and just continued to daydream. "Sheesh I wonder if he'd even notice if Neil Armstrong were to walk in the door right now," said Tucker quietly while looking over to Sam.
Not even the mention of his idol was enough to pull Danny from his daydream. For the last seven days nothing seemed to be capable of keeping his mind off of Ember. And if he was being completely honest, he wasn't even sure he wanted to get his mind off of her. Ever since he'd learned everything he had from his investigation he found himself wanting to know even more about her. The more he thought of it the more he was pretty sure that he had barely scratched the surface on what there was to learn about her. The first day or two he'd just think about how terrible she'd been treated and how he wished he could change that. But as the days went by, his thoughts grew beyond that and he began to take more notice of how beautiful she was and how great she was as a musician. He also found himself feeling strangely attracted to her tough attitude, thinking it was so much cooler than a clueless girl that was all ditzy and spent most of her time looking at shoes. Danny thought that Ember's awesome boots looked way cooler than flashy heels.
For the next thirty minutes while class continued Danny still wasn't paying any attention to Mr. Lancer. Instead he was absentmindedly doodling on the blank paper in front of him. He wrote Ember's name, drew a few music notes, a roaring flame, and even tried to draw her face. By the end of class he realized the page was pretty full and he better put it away before Sam and Tucker could notice. This wouldn't exactly be an easy one to explain if they were to see it.
Sam actually had been trying to get a peek at what Danny had been writing on the page, but he kept it covered well and since she was in the desk diagonally in front of him it was a really bad angle. She would have to be pretty obvious she was trying to see it in order to get a good look.
"Alright, you two ready for lunch? I'm definitely craving me some of that school meatloaf," said Tucker practically drooling for his favorite part of the day.
"You know that stuff is made with..." Sam started to say but Tucker cut her off quickly.
"Don't know, don't want to know, and don't care," said Tucker covering his ears quickly. Sam rolled her eyes while Danny was still not paying attention as they walked the halls towards the cafeteria.
"Danny, you're starting to seem more like a zombie than a ghost," said Sam narrowing her eyes, getting pretty annoyed that Danny clearly has a lot on his mind but won't share any of it.
"Huh, Sam just relax, nothing is wrong. You know what, you two go on ahead. I need to use the bathroom real quick," said Danny walking towards the boy's room before either of them could say anything.
"Yeah, I'm sure that's completely true," said Sam sarcastically to herself, frowning as she watched Danny disappear behind a door where she couldn't follow.
Tucker meanwhile had cartoon hearts in his eyes for the school meatloaf as he spotted it through the rotating cafeteria doors. Without even acknowledging that Danny had left he proceeded ahead, leaving Sam all alone.
Elsewhere, as soon as Danny entered the bathroom and checked each stall to make sure he was alone, he went intangible and phased himself out of there. Heading outside he landed behind the school where it was empty and turned solid again. He didn't want to be disturbed right now as he walked alone to the football field. Heading to the top of the bleachers he had plenty of room to himself and more than enough of a view to give him an advance warning if anyone was coming. Pulling out his MP3 he put his headphones onto his ears and started playing the music he'd been listening to nonstop for the past week. A smile crept on his face and his head started lightly nodding to the beat, the voice sounding like an angel to him. Even if the lyrics were telling a pretty tragic story.
It was, it was September
Winds blow, the dead leaves fall
To you, I did surrender
Two weeks, you didn't call
Your life, goes on without me
My life, a losing game
But you should, you should not doubt me
You will remember my name
Danny had his eyes closed as his head kept slowly rocked back and forth to the music. He now understood the context behind these lyrics and the story they were telling. He still didn't have any idea how that date of Ember's went the night she died, but hopefully at some point he could find out.
Ohhhhhh Ember, you will remember
Ember, one thing remains
Ohhhhhh Ember, so warm and tender
You will remember my name
Danny was mouthing the words to the chorus along with the song, imagining how amazing Ember looks when she's singing on stage. Though the only time he'd seen this was when he was battling her, that didn't stop him from remembering that she still sounded incredible. It was definitely a memory he was growing more and more fond of every day. In fact he found himself wanting to remember everything he possibly could about her, not just her name like the song said.
Your heart, your heart has rendered
Your walls, now bear the shame
Like dead trees, in cold December
Nothing but ashes remains.
Danny's smile did lower a little bit at that last line. He wasn't blind to the fact that she was clearly referring to the way she had died in a fire and ashes were all that remained of anything. While he found out that wasn't entirely true due to finding her personal belongings it was still a powerful and hard to hear message now that he knew what it was referencing.
Ohhhhhh Ember, you will remember
Ember, one thing remains
Ohhhhhh Ember, so warm and tender
You will remember my name
As the chorus repeated one more time Danny thought about how Ember's lyrics refer to her being warm and tender. He felt that there was truth to that and she just needed help to actually realize it. If he could just help her to realize she didn't have to be so stone cold and shut off, maybe she really could have a more warm and tender personality combined with her tough rock and roll attitude. He also would really love to tell her how beautiful he thought she was both in looks and in her voice. The thought of that brought a smile back to his face as the song was ending.
Ohhhhhh you will remember my name.
As the music faded to silence Danny sat back against the bleachers looking at the sky. Taking in the look of the clouds, he swore one looked like it had an image of her face in it. He smiled at it as the next song on her album started up, staying there for the whole lunch break and barely even realizing that he hadn't eaten.
Unfortunately for Danny his lack of subtlety in his actions was very easy to notice for certain people. Little did he know that Sam had come outside and could clearly see him from the distance. She had seen him doing this every day this week and wasn't exactly thrilled. Though she hadn't confirmed it she was pretty positive she knew what he was listening to, and that he wasn't completely doing it on his own free will, even though in reality he was.
"There's definitely stuff he isn't telling us, and one way or another I'm gonna find out what it is before something bad happens," said Sam to herself as she crossed her arms.

Ember hadn't been sleeping her best over the last week. Her dreams were being invaded every night by the dipstick and no matter what she tried, she couldn't get him out of her head. She tried forcing herself to think of anything besides Danny before she went to sleep, but it was all in vain. Night after night Danny found his way into her dreams, and the biggest part of all this was...she was enjoying it. Her early resistance to enjoy these dreams was fading more and more with each passing night. Before long she was starting to crave them, though she tried to lie to herself that she hated them. But the proof was all over her face as she was currently smiling in her bed while in a deep slumber.
"Ember you were absolutely amazing tonight. I think this was your best concert yet," said Danny running up to her backstage right after she finished her last song.
"Really, you think so? My voice didn't crack at any point or I didn't screw up a note on my guitar?" Ember asked as she let Danny approach her and take her hand.
"Are you kidding, they can't stop cheering out there. Have you not noticed that your hair is out of control?" said Danny gesturing to the roaring flame on her head.
Ember turned to look in her mirror and sure enough, her hair was surging so much it almost touched the ceiling. She had just performed for three hours in front of a sellout crowd, and every single one of them was chanting her name. Not one of them was under any kind of mind control. The realization that they were cheering under their own free will and not being forced practically brought a tear to her eyes.
"What have I been telling you this whole time?" said Danny putting his hands on her shoulders from behind and lightly rubbing them. "You're an absolutely incredible singer in your own right. All that cheering is proof. They all love you, and...so do I." Danny gently cupped Ember's cheek as he softly spoke to her, turning her to face him and look deep into her eyes.
"You mean it baby pop?" asked Ember in a tough but playful tone as she reached up to place her own hand on top of his.
"With all my heart and soul Ember," said Danny slowly bringing his face closer to her, his lips seeking hers.
Ember's eyes lit up with excitement as her free hand moved to wrap around Danny's neck.
"Danny," said Ember in a complete daze
Just as their lips were about to touch, Ember jumped to a seated position in bed gasping like she'd run a marathon, even though she didn't breathe since she was a ghost.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH, why is this happening to me. Why can't I get that damn dipstick out of my head?" Ember shouted to the empty room in frustration.
These dreams were wearing her down little by little with each passing night. She was losing her will to fight the feelings they were making her feel for Danny. Ever since Danny had made the sweetest gesture anyone had ever done for her, and said the nicest things she'd ever heard, her feelings for the ghost boy just keep getting stronger. Plus the memory that he had saved and protected her from getting hurt. Nobody had ever done that for her in her entire existence. All of these thoughts had her wanting to go see him, to talk to him, to...hug him, and maybe more.
"Damn you Danny, you're turning me into a mushy girl, I swore I'd never let myself be like that again. But you're making me want to give in," said Ember burying her head into her pillow and clutching her hair. She also just realized that once again she called him by his name. She wasn't sure how much longer she could resist actually acting on these feelings, sooner or later she was going to snap and do something reckless.

Over the next few weeks Ember had made multiple attempts to try to work up the courage to see Danny again. Suffice to say these attempts were not going well at all. She'd make her way to the human world and once she found out where he was, she would hide off to the side and look for an opening. But every time either his friends were there with him, there was a ghost attack, or she would get cold feet and be unable to go through with it. She also hadn't exactly figured out what she would say if she did go up and attempt to talk to him.
First she tried to use the spirit week at his high school to find an opening to see him. She figured everyone would be all pumped up with pride during the whole event and she'd be able to somehow take advantage of it. But as it turns out, everyone was feeling the exact opposite of enthusiastic. Instead everyone was completely glum and miserable, Danny especially. She watched from a distance as Danny suffering through all kinds of humiliation, both as himself and as Danny Phantom. After a while Ember figured out that this was the work of Spectra, which in hindsight she should have guessed immediately knowing how Spectra feeds off of teenage misery. Not too long ago Ember would have loved nothing more than to see Danny so miserable and being humiliated, but now she wasn't feeling that way at all. Seeing him being tormented was actually painful for her to observe. The tipping point was when she saw him through a window dressed like a baby in a huge top hat and the popular kids walked in on the whole thing.
"Seriously Spectra, I know I should be glad with what you and Bertrand are doing, but in all honesty I want to burn your pampered face off for causing him so much misery," said Ember while looking at Danny and scowling at Spectra.
Later on when Spectra got torn to shreds by Danny's big sister, who Ember head was named Jazz during the big spirit assembly, she actually had a big smirk on her face. During the whole week while Ember wanted to help Danny but was unable to, she was relieved to see that he at least had his big sister to try to cheer him up. Based on how she was looking out for him it was clear she cared about him a lot.
'Well good to know that he has family that looks out for him, which is more than I could say I ever had,' thought Ember remembering her lonely life and inattentive parents. 'And the fact that she ended up seeing his secret identity but didn't say anything to anyone shows how much she really cares about him.'
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A little later on Ember got a bit worried again when Danny ended up having to deal with a ghost dog that kept changing from a tiny adorable puppy to a oversized horror hound. In its giant form it gave the appearance that it should be working for Hades. A few times Ember was pretty close from jumping in to lend him a hand since his sidekick friends didn't seem to be around at first. But a whole lot of chaos ensued which led to a top secret military facility being completely trashed. As a result of this, the father of one of Danny's female classmates ended up losing his job, which in turn sank them into poverty, forcing them to sell basically everything they owned.
This whole dog situation ended up being quite a wild ride for Danny. He would capture the ghost dog and send it back to the ghost zone, only for it to come right back as if it never even left. Whether it was an adorable puppy or a giant horror hound it was causing him trouble. As a giant it was a raging machine that was a nightmare to catch, and as a puppy it would do things like grabbed his leg to drag him all over, or tackle him right to the ground despite it's small size.
The worse part of this for Danny wasn't even the dog, it's who came to exist as a result of the dog. While Danny was trying to deal with the ghost and train it, a new foe came hunting for him just like Skulker, except this wasn't a ghost, it was a human. Someone in a red suit with ghost weapons and a hover board came out of nowhere and started attacking Danny. Thankfully the person seemed very inexperienced and didn't really pose a serious threat...for now.
However even this wasn't the worst part for Ember as she was trying to find a way to talk to Danny. The absolute worst part of this for her was when she was forced to observe Danny and the goth girl get way closer than she wanted to see.
While observing from a distance, Ember saw the goth girl tackle Danny into the bushes when the red glider person was closing in guns a blazing. Quickly maneuvering herself to get a better view, her eyes suddenly shot open and had as much fire in them as her hair. As soon as the ghost hunter flew away Ember got a bird's eye view of something that made her insides boil with anger. The goth girl had her lips against Danny's in a full on kiss. Before she could even realize it, Ember's whole body was radiating with rage and wanted to slash the dark girl's eyes out.
'You bitch, if anyone should be doing that with him, it's me,' Ember thought on autopilot with clenched fists and narrowed eyes. This feeling of complete jealousy was the last straw on her feelings. If Ember hadn't decided to give into her feelings about Danny yet, she definitely had now and there wasn't any turning back. 'I can't fight this anymore, I'm falling hard for that dipstick. I want him and I don't want to share him with any other girl.'
She also got extremely jealous when the whole situation was eventually resolved and she saw Danny and his friends attend a Dumpty Humpty concert together. They were clearly all having a great time together listening to the live music.
"Argh, I'll admit that band does sound great, but I'd much rather it be me on that stage playing music that made him and everyone else have a great time," said Ember to herself from above, observing the whole show while invisible. She remembered her recent dream of Danny congratulating her after a concert, wishing that could actually happen.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A little later on Ember found herself back in the ghost zone again, still contemplating on how to approach Danny and see if her growing feelings for him could be returned. While heading to the portal she ended up finding a line of ghosts all filing one by one through it as it kept opening and closing again and again. This wasn't something that was seen every day and she wasn't thrilled about the delay. Yeah she could just teleport but she didn't like to do it if she didn't have to. Thankfully the line didn't look so long so she just filed in and waited. When she was only a few away from the front she suddenly heard a loud rumble coming from a ways away, and it was quickly getting louder. Looking towards the back of the line she was pretty sure she knew what was making that sound and who it was.
Sure enough, moments later a loud motorcycle came into view with Johnny 13 and one of Ember's best friends, Kitty, riding on it. Ember hadn't talked to Kitty much lately due to her new crush on Danny and because Kitty was always with Johnny, making Ember the third wheel which she was definitely not a fan of. She hadn't told anyone about this yet for numerous reasons. The most obvious being that Danny was the number one enemy of the ghost zone. But seeing Kitty approaching now was a nice change as she really had been missing her one friend. Before she could call out to them, Johnny had his bad luck shadow race to the portal to keep it open for them. As Johnny drove past her and through the portal Ember's and Kitty's eyes locked for a few moments. They smiled at each other before the motorcycle disappeared into the portal.
But only moments after going through Kitty ended up coming right back by herself without Johnny. She looked like she was in pain though as she came back and fell on the floor right in front of Ember, her body looking like it had just been breaking apart and pulled back together.
"Kitty, what happened to you?" asked Ember helping her friend up.
"Ugh, I couldn't go to the human world with Johnny," said Kitty with a groan. "I can't maintain my current form there so Johnny is going to have to use my clothes to get me a new body."
Ember listened to what Kitty said about Johnny and instantly became worried for Kitty's sake. Johnny wasn't exactly known for being the most thoughtful and attentive boyfriend in the ghost zone.
"Uh Kitty, are you sure that was a good idea?" asked Ember looking at her friend with concern. "You know better than anyone that Johnny has a tendency to get distracted by other girls. He's even hit on me before, as if I'd ever be interested in a greasy poser."
Kitty frowned a bit with Ember bringing up Johnny's habit of paying attention to every girl he sees. Though she knew she had a good point in doing so.
"Yes I know Johnny gets distracted easily by any girl that so much as looks at him," said Kitty narrowing her eyes. "Unfortunately for me I don't really have much choice. Unless he can find someone to wear my clothes I can't go to the human world with him. And at the end of the day we really are made for each other and I do love him."
Kitty and Ember flew away from the portal to sit on a rock formation while they talked, Kitty not having anything else to do now that Johnny was gone.
"Well what about you Em, I haven't heard much from you lately. Could it possibly be because you have your own special someone now like me?" asked Kitty smiling at Ember hopefully.
Ember's mind immediately went to Danny which caused a blush to slowly appear in her cheeks. Her attempts to hide it were fruitless and Kitty quickly noticed and started smirking.
"Oh my, would you look at you," said Kitty leaning closer with an exciting smile. "Girl you're about as red as a strawberry right now. You've got it bad for someone don't you? So who's the lucky guy that's captured the attention of rock star Ember McLain?"
Ember was quickly thinking of what to say. She couldn't just come out and say that it was Danny, that had bad idea written all over it. Even if Kitty was her most trusted friend, okay only friend, the risk of anyone finding out she was head over heels for the ghost boy was pretty bad.
'Crap, what do I say?' thought Ember trying to think quick. 'Is there anyone that she'd buy if I told her? Maybe I can say Skulker, would that be believable? Ugh, no way, I'd never date that tin can in a million years.'
"It's kind of a secret," Ember said simply, unable to think of a good lie.
"Oh well now, it's gotta be pretty juicy if you don't want to tell me," said Kitty smirking even bigger. "Well make no mistake I'll find out sooner or later, but whoever it is you better snag him up quick."
"Oh don't worry, once I get my hands on him I won't have any intention of taking them off," said Ember smirking back. "And mark my words, he won't want them to come off." Ember's words suddenly had her imagination running wild, thinking of putting her hands all over Danny. His chest, his arms, his hair, all while kissing him deeply.
"Well I look forward to finding out who he is, maybe the two of you will be able to double date with Johnny and I. The four of us will be able to have some real fun in the human world together tormenting humans."
This definitely put a damper on Ember's thoughts because she knew that would definitely not be something Danny would be up to if they got together.
Later the next day, Ember had been with Kitty right as Johnny was about to succeed in getting Kitty a new body. Little did Ember realize that her new body was actually going to be Danny's older sister Jazz. Once she realized this Ember had very mixed feelings about this. On one hand it was to help her best friend, on the other it would have severely hurt the boy she was falling head over heels for. At the end of the day it was Danny who stopped it from happening by stopping the whole thing and capturing Johnny in his thermos.
After catching him Johnny was tossed back into the ghost zone, landing right in front of Ember and Kitty with his motorcycle and bad luck shadow.
"Ugh, man that little punk, I was so close," said Johnny in annoyance as he picked his motorcycle up and dusted it off.
"Johnny are you okay?" asked Kitty running to him. "I'd heard about that Danny Phantom, he didn't hurt you too bad did he?"
"Well he definitely packs a pretty good punch," said Johnny rubbing his nose. "And he likes sticking his nose into other people's business. But the whole thing wasn't a complete loss, I was able to snag this from that lab before he got me." As Johnny said this he pulled a box of some kind from the storage compartment of his motorcycle and showed it to the girls. The box was about the size of a cell phone and had Fenton Works on the side.
"And what exactly is this thing?" both girls asked confused.
"I'm pretty sure it's part of that ghost portal," said Johnny rubbing it in his hands. "Once I attach it to my motorcycle I think I'll be able to travel to the human world and back from wherever I want."
This definitely peaked the girls interest and had the promise of a lot more interesting action in the future.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Falling onto his bed after yet another long and exhausting night, Danny let out a big sigh of relief. He'd just spent basically the last two days straight keeping some biker punk named Johnny 13 from turning his sister Jazz into his new girlfriend. Dealing with Johnny himself hadn't really been an issue, it was his nightmarish shadow that gave him all kinds of trouble and bad luck.
"Man, that one was something else," said Danny to his ceiling, enjoying the first moment of peace in a couple days. "Usually the sidekick is the one that isn't as strong or powerful and provides support. With that guy it was the opposite."
Now that Danny had a few moments to think for himself he let his mind drift to his own love drama. The more time that went by since the occasion with Ember, the more she stayed on his mind and the more he found himself falling for her. Every day he kept thinking of going to the ghost zone to try to find her and talk to her, but these frequent ghost attacks have made that impossible. He found it a little ironic that the one he just took care of ended up involving his sister in some relationship drama.
While Ember was once again on his mind, a knock was suddenly heard at his bedroom door.
"Come in," Danny called out to his visitor.
The door opened and Jazz walked in with a grin on her face.
"Hey there Danny, I just wanted to thank you again for looking out for me," said Jazz sitting on the end of Danny's bed. "You saw that Johnny guy was bad news and just like an annoying little brother, you made sure to stay in my business even though I didn't want you to."
"Yeah, well, we are family and we do need to look out for each other don't we, even when we don't want each other to?" said Danny smiling back with a playful shrug.
"Yeah, yeah we do, so you can count on me to make sure any girl you go out with is good for you," said Jazz with a little smirk.
Danny's smile dropped just a little at those words. He was pretty sure that Jazz would not approve if he pulled some magic out of his butt and managed to start something with Ember. Though that was still three or four steps away. He still wasn't even sure how to find Ember and what to say to her yet.
"Hey, Jazz, on that topic, mind if I ask you something?" said Danny seriously.
"Sure, oh, do you maybe need some advice on a girl?" asked Jazz getting much more interested now. "Are you finally wanting to make something happen with Sam?"
Danny wasn't braced for that question and didn't want to give the wrong idea. Yes Sam meant a lot to him and was one of his best friends, but ever since the whole love spell thing he actually felt really weird thinking of Sam in that way.
"Well, actually it's not Sam, it's this other girl," said Danny rubbing the back of his head nervously. "I've only recently started to really learn who she is and anything about her. When I first met her I thought she was nothing but bad news. But then...I found out certain things about her and realized that...she's just a misunderstood person that needs to be shown what it's like for someone to actually care about you."
Jazz was listening very intently, quite intrigued with what Danny was saying and how deep he was getting.
"Unfortunately before I really got the chance to talk to her more, things kinda got...muddy, and I haven't had another chance since. I really want to tell her that I care about her and have feelings for her, I'm just not sure the best way to do it with her history. She's never really had anyone that's legitimately cared about her, not even her own parents."
Jazz's ears really perked up at that last bit about this girl's parents. Danny really seemed concerned for whoever this girl was and really wanted to be there for her.
"Well Danny, I think the best thing you can do is to just be direct and honest with her. If you really like her then you need to actually tell her. Don't tip toe around it or be transparent about it," said Jazz with a little chuckle in her mind about the transparent remark. Ever since she discovered Danny's secret she'd been looking into the whole family ghost business a little closer than she had in the past, mostly in an effort to help protect him whenever necessary.
Danny still wasn't sure how everything would work out or if Ember would even want to talk to him again, but he agreed with what Jazz was telling him.
"You're right, I should be honest with her and that is what I want to do. I just need to find the right words," said Danny looking towards his window. Jazz stood up and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Just speak from the heart Danny, regardless of what happens it's always best to speak from the heart," said Jazz with one more supportive smile before she left Danny to his thoughts.
Danny waited a few moments after Jazz left before he rolled onto his side. Extending his arm he reached under his mattress and pulled out a notebook that he'd been unable to look at in a few days. He'd been missing this and after talking to Jazz he was now pretty eager to get back to it. Pulling a pen out of his nightstand he put it to the paper to continue the letter he'd been writing and rewriting for almost a week during the extremely limited free time he'd had.
"Well I think I've just about found the right words to say to her now. I just hope Ember will like it when I give it to her," said Danny smiling.
He'd been working on this letter for Ember to profess his feelings to her and he was taking it very seriously. He probably should be taking his school work this serious, but this was something he cared way more about. So serious that he was working on draft number eight of the letter.
"I think this is finally it," said Danny rereading it to make sure it all sounded good. "Well, that's that then. I'm gonna deliver it to her as soon as possible and hope for the best. Hopefully she won't tear my head off after she reads it."
Laying flat on his back Danny looked at the ceiling and pictured him and Ember together, holding hands, looking at the stars together and just enjoying each other's company. Very soon he hoped that he'd be able to take a big leap towards making that and so much more a reality.

A/N This chapter ended up being much longer than I originally intended it to be, I just hope it came out good and everyone enjoyed it. As always thank you so much for the support and please remember to leave a review.
