Chapter 20: Prison Break Extravaganza!
Rob Lucci convinced the golden retriever's to imprison Tashigi and Drake for attacking him. After a joke of a trial they were thrown into the golden retriever's massive prison complex the same day. Tashigi was ashamed of her loss and Drake was stuck in massive sea stone shackles.
The slop that was served in the cafeteria was hardly fit for even a dog to eat, and it took all of Tashigi's discipline to not throw up. She sat next to Drake in a far-off corner to avoid the attention of the other prisoners.
-There's something that bothers me about all this, Drake mumbled.
-Well, we are in prison! Tashigi forced down another bite.
-No, it's not that. Why were the CP0 helping the Rottweilers gain power? They won't gain from the Rottweiler's politics; the Rottweiler's want humans off the island. I doubt the CP0 would help out of the goodness in their hearts.
While their conversation carried on, a fight broke out on the other side of the cafetera.
-What the hell did you say!? A rottweiler lifted a poodle into the air by the neck. He was tall with elongated limbs, his fur a patchwork of black and silver.
-I said that the rottweilers are a bunch of freaks, letting a wolf hybrid like you walk around! The poodle growled.
-Don't you dare insult my heritage! I had nothing to do with what Alfred did! The rottweiler brought his frothing jaw uncomfortably close to the poodles face
-Tashigi, don't interfere! Drake said; Tashigi didn't listen as she was on her way off to interfere.
-Hey, you! She called out to the rottweiler.
-Who do you think you are, using your strength to abuse others! Have you no honor as a fighte… Before Tashigi could finish she was pulled away by another prisoner; a large, well-trained dalmatian sporting an eyepatch and a wide grin .
-That's the warden you were about to start a fight with; a warden with half the Electro-power of a full-fledged wolf. A human like you, without a weapon? You're as good as dead meat!
Tashigi was reminded of Kaku's callous disregard.
-If you think I'm just going to stand there while he abuses his power, you are damn wrong!
-Oh, you're one of those snobby ones that fight for justice and civility? Let me show you what you're fighting against, the dalmatian picks Tashigi up into the air, forcing her to watch.
-Shut up! It ain't my fault that I'm a wolfie! The poodle was caught off-guard.
-W-wait, what? Please say a couple of other animals.
The warden looked around, seeing the prisoner's try to contain their laughter.
-B-birdies? Fishies? The prisoner's burst out hollering. The warden ruthlessly sent a massive burst of Electro through the poodle and dropped his knocked-out body on the floor, silencing them all.
-Yeah, you'd be better off facing the grim reaper himself than the warden. If you can't fight truly ruthlessly, you're better off accepting your loss. I'm only giving you this tip once, the dalmatian dropped Tashigi and walked off.
Tashigi felt horrified; both Kaku and the prisoner had said the same thing, that if she rejected her master's stronger style she couldn't defeat evil. What if they were right? If she denied a style that could do more good because she believed it to be dishonorable, was she really fighting for justice, and not just her own pride?
Drake shook her out of her thoughts.
-Forget what that dalmatian just said, because I really need you to fight the warden and incite a prison break.
-What!? Tashigi turned to Drake, eyes wide open.
-I figured out what the CP0's plan is, and we need to escape as soon as possible to tell the others. If I transformed I could blow a hole in the wall and have us escape, but in order to do that I need the keys to these shackles. Keys that just so happen to be around the waist of our friend Warden Stallman.
.
-I'll do it! I'll fight him! If I can defeat him, it'll get rid of all my doubts! Tashigi declared a little too loudly.
-If you're going to do that, you're going to need to get your sword! Drake dryly reminded me.
-No, I recognize the fragile, stupid pride of that warden. I'll easily convince him to give me Shigure!
After a restless night of practicing in her cell, Tashigi felt ready. During breakfast she stood up on the table and loudly cleared her throat.
-Warden Stallman! If you have any guts, you'll come out and face me now! For the honor of the wolves, or should I say, wolfies? For a couple of seconds there was silence before the door to the warden's office was slammed off its hinges. The warden stepped out, furious.
-Humanie! I'll have you for breakfast! His claws crackled with electricity. Tashigi wagged her finger.
-Oh, how impressive, you can defeat an unarmed woman! Get me my sword and we can consider it a real fight!
-I don't care! You should have taught about that before insulting me!
-Oh. oh. That was not my expected reaCTIO…
Tashigi was thrown into the air by the incredibly fast warden.
-Rushdown Revenge!
The warden shot fur out of his feet to propel himself around the air, bouncing off the walls and the floor. Tashigi was hit from all directions by his deadly electric swipes. Bloodied and bruised she plummeted to the ground. The ground shook as the warden slammed down next to her.
-Do you yield? Tashigi was just about to say yes when she noticed how close the key to Drake's shackles was to her. It was a large, rusty thing even for the giant dog; in her hand it could used as a sword. She only needed a distraction to get it.
With a smug smile she rose up.
-If you think I'm going to let some freak who only inherited his powers from his psychopat ancestors, you're wro… Tashigi stopped, seeing the warden's reaction. He was filled with a silent fury, yet a single tear rolled down his cheek.
Without warning, Tashigi's bangs flew off. The warden had performed a terrifyingly fast claw swipe that had just barely missed Tashigi's head. Realizing that she was literally within a hair of dying Tashigi began flipping backwards to avoid the warden's attacks.
-I hate people like you! All my life people tell me that I'm a freak for using the powers I gained from my wolf heritage! So I became a prison warden so I can use them for good! Even then, people tell me that I shouldn't use them! Do you think that it's just automatically wrong to use powers, just because someone evil also used them!? The warden cried out.
Despite the fact that he was trying to kill her, Tashigi was shaken by his speech. Who was she to reject something that could do good just because its source was despicable? While she was busy self-reflecting, the warden trapped her against the wall.
-Rolling Thunder Swipe!
Tashigi predicted the warden's attack and acrobatically jumped over him, stealing his keys mid-air. She threw the keys to the shackle to Drake and wielded another one like a sword.
-I got to thank you, warden! You made me realize I was still holding myself back! Excuse my ill manner…
The warden interrupted her with a full-force attack.
-Full Lightning Strik…
-Sakura Parry!
Beautiful cherry blossom leaves of Haki emerged from the rusty key as Tashigi parried the warden's attack. Ridding herself of all inhibition and pride, she put all her force into sending the warden into a nearby wall. When the dust was gone a giant warden-shaped hole in the wall.
Chaos erupted as the prisoner's stormed to get outside.
-Tashigi! We need to go before the guards get control of the situation! Drake shouted over all the noise.
-B-but, Shigure! I need to go get it! A reassuring paw landed on Tashigi's shoulder. It was the dalmatian from earlier.
-Well, butter my biscuits, you proved me wrong! Let me and my gang go get your sword, we'll meet up at master Coopers place! Call me Franziska! Before Tashigi could ask a single question the dalmatian ran off.
Frustrated Drake grabbed Tashigi by the shoulder and pulled her into the giant crowd of prisoners, escaping away into the massive forest.
This is probably the most edited a chapter of this fic has ever been. Curse of the twentieth chapter IG. See you next week to learn about the CP0's true plans!
