Ansem's Point of View

"At this point, I'm wondering if we should just let her come and go as she pleases. It's clear that she will leave with or without permission, so we may as well allow her to leave and have her inform us when she does so. I told you that her being here was a bad idea," Even said.

"I'm not sure. Perhaps you are right. Still, she shouldn't be lying. If we allow her to do so, we may send her the message that what she did was acceptable. She needs to understand what she did was wrong," I mused.

"She probably never learned any better from her parents. I never trusted them," Even scoffed.

"Even, you never trust anyone," I pointed out.

"I trust her now. I don't have much of a choice. It is my understanding that she has dealt with things that are beyond us. Perhaps this is one of those things," Even suggested.

"You don't even know her," I pointed out.

"Well, perhaps that needs to change!" He snapped. I held back a smile. I had hoped that he would want to get to know Jessica better and knew it was only a matter of time.

"Very well. I'll make it your call this time on how you want to proceed with this matter," I sighed.

"Thank you. I intend to allow her to go to other worlds so long as she tells someone she's going. Trust goes both ways. At the moment, she doesn't trust us very much, so perhaps if we allow her to keep her secrets, she will place more trust in us. I don't want her to be afraid of us. She's likely broken up as it is being sent away from her parents for so long. I still can't believe what they did. Princess of Light and Darkness... I don't care if the universe was at stake. She is still just a child who is too young to be someplace unfamiliar for extended periods of time," Even grumbled.

"I suppose you'd better go tell her. She will, of course, be happy to hear the good news," I prompted with a smile creeping onto my lips. It was rare to see Even so empathetic to anyone. It didn't surprise me, given the circumstances. Despite his annoyance at her presence, he cared greatly for Jessica.

What could it mean? Well, I know what this means, but I'm not going to tell you. You'll just have to either figure this out on your own or wait until I explain in the story. Sorry this chapter was so short. I decided that this was a good place to end.
