It was a bittersweet time for Tommy Turpin.
Tommy was on the verge of becoming a father for the very first time. His daughter was due in a fortnight.
However, he had also recently suffered a terrible loss.
His sister Lisa had recently succumbed to Dragon Pox.
Lisa had been four years older than Tommy and she had been the most helpful and supportive older sister anyone could have ever asked for.
Lisa would help Tommy with his schoolwork. She would never just write his papers for him of course, but she played a large part in helping him understand academic concepts. She would take the time to explain how various potions ingredients affected the brewing process or how important mental images were in some types of Charms work.
She was also the older sister who provided guidance and caution, whether that be warning him not to fly his broomstick too fast, making sure he was always suspicious of anonymous gifts, especially if they were expensive and highly desirable, or scolding him if he dared suggesting the stupidity of messing around with unknown spells.
Most importantly, she was his emotional rock. She was the one who would stand by his bedside if he was sick, pat him on the back and put her arms around his shoulder when he was upset or scared, and act as a sounding board when he needed one.
She wasn't always the sister he wanted, but she was always the sister she needed.
Tommy was currently sitting on a lawn chair in his backyard and the beautiful sunny and war seventy seven degree weather seemed to mock him.
What wouldn't he give now to have Lisa back?
But he that was impossible.
"No spell can reawaken the dead," had been hammered into him since he had been toddler.
"Lisa, you were always there for me when I needed you," reminisced Tommy sadly, "Abd you proved you truly cared about me and truly loved me by be willing to tell me what I didn't want to hear when I needed to hear it. "
Tommy started to feel his eyes water and let his tears flow freely.
After crying the tears he had to cry, Tommy turned to thinking about how best to pay tribute to the wonderful sister who had been fated to expire way to young.
"I want to do something meaningful to honor Lisa," thought Tommy solemnly, "I at least owe her that much."
And after going into serious thinking mode for a few minutes and a few nanoseconds, the best idea came to him.
"My daughter is due in a fortnight," reasoned Tommy. "I have yet to select a name for her. Well, the obvious is now right in front of me. My daughter shall be Lisa Turpin, just like my sister was. I shall bestow the name of Lisa upon my daughter in the loving memory of and greatest honor of my sister."
Tommy felt so many emotions posses him at once: grief, pride, gratitude, yearning, anticipation.
More than anything though, Tommy thought:
"Lisa Turpin, I know that will live up to the name Lisa Turpin and I look forward to spending years together with you."
